  • An ideal Airbnb experience. Beautiful home. Great communication. Fantastic value. The perfect Airbnb for a weekend in NOLA

  • A great place to stay! The carriage house was beautiful and we really enjoyed cooling off from the July heat in the pool. April and Ken had left a list of wonderful recommendations and kindly let us use their bikes - it was such a cool way to see the city! This is a great location with everything we needed to be comfortable.

  • We had the most incredible time during our visit! Our hosts were so helpful and sweet. I am convinced we could not have found a better spot to stay in New Orleans. Such a perfect spot! We look forward to visiting again!

  • The guesthouse is beautiful. Pics Dont do justice. Location was convenient for everything new orleans. Got to meet April. She was a gracious hostess. Would highly recommend this location and hosts.

  • My husband and I spent our honeymoon in New Orleans last week and I can't say enough about our experience at April & Ken's guest house. The property was beautiful inside and out. We especially loved sitting on the l balcony to drink our coffee in the morning with the beautiful magnolia tree overhead. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a note containing recommendations for bars, restaurants, and local transportation options. The kitchen was stocked with essentials such as coffee and oatmeal, and there was even a bottle of wine waiting for us as well. April & Ken made themselves readily available if needed but the home was very private, including the outdoor space. The property is a reasonable walk to the French Quarter (about 1.5 miles), but also right off of the bus route if you don't have/rent a car. We had been given feedback from some local folks not to walk back at night though. Altogether, we had an excellent time and hope to return soon!

  • First time in NOLA and first time doing an Airbnb. The day we landed, there was a tornado watch. So we spent a couple hours at the quarter ($6 uber ride) and headed home early to wind down. They really thought of everything, from liquid soap, shampoo, hair dryer, complete kitchen included with knives and pots and pans, tons of bedding. It was pretty cold the days we stayed, so we utilized the heat -- good temp control. We used the bikes one day as well. The house has so much history, the spot we stayed at was a servant's quarter which is pretty cool if you ask me. It was super clean, they also have bleach wipes and a washer and dryer with detergent as well if you're a germaphobe like me. 20 minute walk to the quarter! Back streets are not really something I would explore after sunset, but we did walk around during the day. All in all, lovely experience!!

  • April & Ken are very sweet and the guesthouse is gorgeous. A bit of a squeeze with 4 people -- there's a bed & a pull-out couch -- but both were comfy, the bathroom was clean, there was closet space available and the kitchen well-appointed for cooking (Ken showed us how to work the grill and gave us hot sauce, yum). The courtyard is so pretty, with a working hot tub. We also loved walking up & down Esplanade & exploring Treme.

  • Awesome location with even better hosts. Definitely one of the best air bnb's in the area. The bikes were a great way to get around and the house was great.

Guest area features private bedroom and bath with its own private entrance. Only 2 miles from the French Quarter by streetcar. Enjoy complete privacy in the guest space or visit with the hosts as you desire.
Private bedroom and bath in our charming shotgun house on the Canal Streetcar line only 2 miles from the French Quarter. Guest area features private entrance, lovely patio, beautiful antique furnishings, 11-foot ceilings, petite chandelier, comfortable and clean queen bed, and cozy guest robes. Internet, cable TV, parking, oscillating fan, iPod player, white noise machine, hairdryer, fridge, coffeepot, crockpot, and snacks are provided. The space has a peaceful, airy feel and is flooded with natural light. This listing is unique in that you have complete privacy from the main house. The guest space has its own exterior door, and you are free to come and go as you please. The garden path leading to your room features motion-activated lighting if you are returning after dark. The room is located down the garden path in the rear of the house. We welcome special requests and will do anything we can to accommodate you. The room is ideal for one to two people, but we can also provide a travel crib and other baby items if you wish to travel with your child. We love hosting guests for honeymoons, anniversaries, and other special events. Our home is located in the historic Mid-City neighborhood, which was one of the first neighborhoods to spring back after extensive flooding due to Hurricane Katrina. Mid-City is located, as the name indicates, in the middle of New Orleans on what was once the backslope of the Mississippi River natural levee. Our home was built around 1910 and is a typical New Orleans-style shotgun house. In New Orleans at the time of construction, the shotgun house utilized a minimized lot frontage, on which taxes were based. The houses were also built without hallways and closets, which would have been counted as rooms for tax purposes. The origin of the building style and the name itself may trace back to Haitian influences on New Orleans, as many Afro-Haitian slaves lived in this area. Our house was recently featured on the HBO series "Treme", as the law office of the character Toni Bernette (played by Melissa Leo) and also as part of the interior of the home of Creighton Bernette (played by John Goodman). Guests are free to have complete privacy or to meet with the host as desired to obtain recommendations for food, drink, and attractions. Check-in is offered via a lockbox. Rates may vary during special events and holidays. Our home is located just off the parade route for Endymion, the largest parade of Mardi Gras. The festival grounds for Jazz Fest are just over 1 mile away.
Mid-City is a diverse neighborhood with its own distinctive flavor. Bars and restaurants in this area are largely patronized by locals, so the neighborhood provides an escape from the more touristy areas of the city, while still allowing easy access to the French Quarter via the Canal Streetcar Line.
  • Very comfortable room, excellent bed, tastefully decorated room. Nice touches of snacks and beverages in the fridge. Great bath and hair products in the bathroom. Very friendly cat outside. Erin was very helpful in recommending great restaurants and sites to see. All site descriptions are true. Easy access to downtown on the street car. Enjoyed our time in NOLA.

  • What a lovely experience! Instructions, communication and the accommodation were all perfect. Thanks for the little touches. We'd definitely recommend Erin's lovely home!

    Nathalie2016-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Erin was very accommodating since we arrived early in the morning via a red eye flight. She allowed us to drop off our bags so we could explore the area until we could check in. She gave us a great recommendation for breakfast at the Ruby Slipper (highly recommend/walking distance) and as soon as the prior guests checked out she immediately cleaned the room and allowed us in. She truly went above and beyond. The room is private and quiet and located in Mid city. The street car is very close and super easy (and cheap) to get to the French Quarter. With rain showers though, we took taxis quite often. Keep this in mind for your plans. Erin also gave us very good input about uber vs local taxi so we always had transport. Overall it is an excellent deal and I would book again next time I'm in New Orleans.

    Heather2015-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place was super cool. We loved that Erin provided historical info on the house. It was close to the street car, which made it easy to get around.

    Danny2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Erin was an excellent host who set up the room with real style. She left us with a 'survival handbook' that explained the local area, where best to eat and so on. The room was lovely and Erin was very approachable, always happy to help us out. I'd recommend this place to anybody who wants to visit New Orleans and escape the touristy craziness in the quarter.

    Katie2014-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Erin’s guest room is the perfect combination of staying in a typical and authentic house in Mid City as well as tasting the city life of New Orleans when exploring the French Quarter. The room was nice, the bed was very comfortable and everything including the bathroom was very clean. Erin was a great host; she welcomed us and advised us on where to eat and what to do, which were great suggestions! We had a wonderful stay at her place, as it was a nice and quiet get away from the hectic center, without losing the feeling of being in New Orleans. We would definitely recommend Erin’s place!

    Victoria2014-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great! Would gladly stay again.

    Stephen2015-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Erin's place for a four nights on vacation with my boyfriend. Getting to and from the house by car, public transportation, or walking was very easy. The house was beautiful and well-stocked. I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • We loved Matthew's apartment! The apartment is clean, cute and has everything you'll need! Great location! Quiet neighborhood but close to everything. My husband and I came to NOLA to elope and Matthew's family was nice enough to get us a bottle of champagne. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip!

    Sharon2016-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew and his side apartment in New Orleans were awesome! Matthew was a very accommodating host, eager to provide recommendations and make sure his guests feel at home. Both my girlfriend and I were very impressed with the interior decoration in his studio! It was very stylish, cozy and charming. I'm sure there are plenty of other cool airbnb's in NOLA, but my girlfriend and I agreed that we'd check Matthew's availability next time we're in the area--and we'd highly recommend the same for any other travelers! Located in a great neighborhood where you're literally 5-15 minutes away from pretty much all points of interest, Matthew's place is a perfect place to stay, made all the better by Matthew's great and enthusiastic hosting!

    Andrew2016-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Super easy check in. We met Matthew as we were checking in! He was a great host, very accommodating. The place was clean and comfortable. Quick ride to French Quarter. VERY nice soft fluffy towels, snacks, coffee water, etc was out for us so very nice touch.

    Jennay2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew was an outstanding host and my husband and I cannot wait to return! He greeted us upon arrival and gave us recommendations for great places to eat nearby. Matthew even had a couple of local beers waiting for us in the refrigerator! We felt so welcome and comfortable!

    Renee2016-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew was great! He contacted me as soon as I booked, a month prior to my arrival, a week and days within my arrival. I wasn't always able to respond due to my high paced job, but his messages were appreciated. The studio is just as it is pictured. It was so nice and cozy, my boyfriend and I wanted to move in. The amnesties were up to date. He left us local beers and chips which was a delightful added bonus. When we visit Nola again we will more than likely stay at Matthew's place again. The location is GREAT (and private)! Everything you need is just a short drive away and you could even walk. I could go on and on about how great our how stay was. Just know that you won't be disappointed and Matthew will make you feel at home.

    Renalta2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Matthews. It was even better then the pictures and described. Great location. You have everything you need in his apartment. It has been a great experience staying there the last two days. We wish we had longer!

    Rebekah 2016-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Matt is a great host. I had a wonderful experience. He gave me a very clear instruction and assured me it's a safe place before I checked in. His communication is prompt. His studio looks exactly like in his listing pictures even better in real than I expected. It is spacious, clean and artfully decorated. Thoughtful details are offered through the entire apartment. Thank you for your hospitality! I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to visit New Orleans!

  • Matthew’s place was amazing for our quick trip to New Orleans. It was perfect to come back to after being among the crowds in the French Quarter. The place was immaculate and the bed was exceptionally comfy. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Located on the residential side of Bourbon St. you will enjoy the quietness at night and sleep like a baby and few steps all the action of Bourbon and the Marigny area. This mansion was built in the 1830s n was recently converted into Luxury condos.
The living room has one queen sofa bed for two people, located in front of the charming courtyard, large balcony on the second floor, master bedroom with private bathroom, second bedroom with a set of bunk beds and daybed to sleep four people, kitchen, dining room, additional bathroom on the first floor, TV.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Condo. Great space, the neighborhood was quiet yet super close to everything. And the furnishings were very stylish.

  • Great location. Beautiful place. Plenty of space. The outdoor pace was calming and beutiful. I would highly suggest this house.

    Kayla2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • The host, DeeDee, was phenomenal with communication! She went out of her way to help with our arrival. The place is at an awesome location within blocks to Frenchman Street and several jazz joints and places to eat. A little bit of a stroll to the 'action' of Bourbon Street. Comfortably sleeps 6 with only 1 double bed and 4 to share the second bedroom and bath. Tucked in the back of the building with a pleasant courtyard and privacy. I'd stay here again.

    David2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • This lovely spot was the perfect location for easily enjoying the French Quarter while being somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle. We especially appreciated the patio each evening and liked having an upstairs to retreat when others in the group wanted to paint the town. We did not use the kitchen, but it appeared to be equipped with the basics. This delightful residence is the ideal local for savoring all The Big Easy has to offer.

    Tana2016-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had soar beautiful wedding and stay at this location. love. love. love. couldn't have aske d for better.

    Sara2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • we absolutely LOVED our stay here!!!! Location was beyond perfect! central and walking to great music, bourbon st, frenchmen, restaurants, parks..you name it! Beautiful building, very comfortable and clean and lovely balcony and courtyard! highly recommend! thank you so much!

    Kristen2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great. This place would be good for large groups (6-10 people) looking to spend their time on bourbon st and Frenchman st. The amenities are rough but the courtyard is great.

    Erica2017-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Although I never met DeeDee, the check-in was perfect because a meeting was not necessary instead it was a key code. Which was perfect because I did not have a set time to arrive in New Orleans. She was very punctual and easily contacted. The two-story vintage condo is located at the end of Bourbon, but still in walking distance from all festivites. The space in the condo was sufficient for 6 adults and it was VERY clean. Though had we had 8 adults, as the description says it can fit, it would've felt cramped. If the weather had been better than the coldest day of the year in Louisiana, it would have been nice to sit outside in the courtyard which is perfect for a quiet place to hang with a few people. The courtyard is shared with the other guests in the other 2 condos next to this one, but it was never an issue. The pictures and description fit exactly what is offered at the condo and I would rent this place over a hotel stay in New Orleans every time. It was perfect for a weekend get-away!

The Mazant is a plantation-style home dating back to the early 1880s, located in the heart of New Orleans' Bywater arts district - and about 1-1/2 miles from the French Quarter (30 minutes walking or 8 minutes by Uber). We are close to Bacchanal, The Joint, The Country Club, Elizabeth's, and Satsuma Cafe. It's perfect for family reunions, wedding parties, company off-sites, and other large groups.
The house was recently renovated to preserve historic details including 13' ceilings with plaster medallions, heart pine wood floors, cypress doors, and a 125-year old oak tree. At the same time, we updated the layout to more comfortably accommodate large groups: * 18-person dining room table * Oversized living room with 70-inch television, surround sound system, and Baldwin upright piano * Private yard (1/3 acre) with fire pit, six-burner propane BBQ, outdoor table, and hammocks * Super-fast WiFi (the top tier that Cox offers) * Front porch (gallery) with historic gas lamps and outdoor seating * Off-street parking for two cars and ample street parking for overflow The house has eight bedrooms with layout as follows: Downstairs - Bedroom 1: one queen bed (ensuite bathroom - shower) - Bedroom 2: one king bed (ensuite bathroom - shower) Upstairs - Bedroom 3: one queen bed (ensuite bathroom - shower/tub combo) - Bedroom 4: one double bed - Bedroom 5: one twin bunkbed - Bedroom 6: one king bed - Bedroom 7: one king bed - Bedroom 8: one queen bed There are two additional shared bathrooms upstairs: one with a clawfoot tub (with shower) and another tub/shower combo. For larger groups, we also have a separate 350-sq ft guest cottage that has a queen bed, full kitchen, and full bathroom (with clawfoot tub/shower). It is available upon request for an additional fee ($150 per night).
Just down river (east) from the French Quarter - stretching from Press Street to the Industrial Canal - is the Bywater, where the mood and pace shift as you enter into the heart of an edgier yet still welcoming neighborhood. The St. Claude Arts District, centered around St. Claude Avenue, is home to more than thirty locations exhibiting visual and performance art, along with an array of artisan crafts. Down Piety Street, the fun continues with restaurants, thrift stores and more galleries. Even the homes, cafes and restaurants seem to capture Bywater's eclectic appreciation for the arts. Spend the afternoon at Crescent Park for some impressive views of downtown New Orleans and the Mississippi River. Afterward, you can thrift your way through the neighborhood before stopping in at an exhibition and finally making your way to dinner. The area's restaurants are among the most innovative in the city and are great places to sit with a cocktail and chat with locals. Above all, the Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods illustrate the relationship between the New Orleans arts scene and local life. So whether you're looking for the New Orleans of old, or if you want see where New Orleans culture is headed for the future, the Faubourg Marigny and Bywater will offer you glimpses in either direction.
  • This home is gorgeous. This home is beautifully reastored and well maintained. The minute you step through the front door you will be impressed. We rented this home to celebrate my fathers 84th birthday. We had 14 quests friends and family. Our host went the extra mile. The kitchen was stocked with coffee, cake, champagne, and drinks. We had a fabulous time and everyone enjoyed themselves. We had a 5 star stay. You can not go wrong with this property.

  • What a great house with great hosts. I loved this neighborhood. We took Uber’s into town and a couple of times we walked back along the riverside park. That was a great experience at dusk and seeing the NOLA skyline from a different perspective. Plenty to do in NOLA but we also found a few locals joints. I fell in love with Bywater. And this house is amazing!

    Kelly2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. This place was perfect for our 15 lady bachelorette destination weekend. From the moment you arrive, you're going to be impressed; and you might think that that feeling would subside after walking through the house 3 times with your mouth hanging open, but it won't--you will be impressed from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. The house is stately, beautifully renovated with thoughtful decor, and has so many things to offer. We thoroughly enjoyed: the upstairs porch (yoga in the morning with local coffee made in the keep-15-people-easily-caffeinated Bunn coffee maker!); the firepit, grill and outdoor table (post-FQ s'mores, afternoon naps on the lawn, morning breakfasts in the sunshine); the formal dining room for our special last night feast; the hand soap (I'm not kidding, at least 4 girls have already purchased it online); the well equipped kitchen and bedrooms (real beds in beautiful rooms for everyone), and the abundance of bathrooms (I don't think I waited for a shower once all weekend). We also enjoyed the surround sound, easy temp control, and quietness of being just far enough from the quarter, but close enough to enjoy a walk along the river to the French Market (and streetcar stop). Jeff was very responsive to my questions before we arrived and provided great recommendations for the neighborhood--I'd say he went above and beyond to help make our stay feel special (I'll leave you to discover some of those surprises yourself--just delightful!). Jeff, and Kevin (the house manager) were also very accommodating in regards to check in and check out, which made my life so much easier (coordinating arrivals and departures for 15 people!). I can't wait to plan another trip, in part just to stay in this beautiful home again.

    Jennifer2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed this place. Bywater is not the most convenient neighborhood for most New Orleans events but the house is great for a large group. It is beautiful, has plenty of living space and outdoor space which is very unusual in New Orleans. Would definitely stay here again.

  • First class place!

    Derek2018-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • I'm a frequent traveler and Airbnb guest, and I have to say that Jeff's Bywater House is one of my favorite places I've ever stayed. The house itself is magnificent. It's well-appointed, clean, has great amenities, and wonderful air conditioning. I love the Bywater neighborhood. It's not touristy, but it's safe and up-and-coming. It has tons of local flavor, and there's an endless amount of stuff to do, eat, or drink within a ten minute walk. It's about a ten minute Uber to the French Quarter or most places you'd want to go in the city. We took our team of 9 to this house for a company retreat. Everyone was thrilled and comfortable. It couldn't have worked out better. The outdoor areas are delightful, too. I'll be coming back!

    Jeremy2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing!!! I would say the pictures in the Airbnb ad does not do it justice....."yes it real"! Perfect for an entire family get together and more if you wanted! The number of bedrooms and the amenities are outstanding. A $12 uber ride will get you downtowm that if you want to leave this beautiful home. Jeff and Kevin were gracious hosts. I really like the personal touches they provided. We are already planning a Jazzfest 2018 weekend....oops! Dont's take our spot! Bart

  • This isn't usually the case with Airbnb listings, but this space is actually larger and nicer than it looks in the pictures posted! Comfortable, spacious, and well-furnished with all the amenities you might need (including plenty of fluffy white towels! :) ). There is more than one Airbnb listing on the property, but it was quiet and didn't feel crowded at all. It's also a little further out than I thought it would be from the description, but it's close enough to the French Quarter, and there is ample (free!) street parking. I'd definitely stay here again.

  • My wife Kartika and I stayed at Nola's Studio for four days in early October. It was our first visit to New Orleans and also our first time using AIrbnb and it was a most enjoyable experience. We're came to New Orleans for two reasons: the music and the food, Luckly our host, Belinda as a musician and someone who enjoys good food was a mine of information on both subjects, so much so that we never opened our guide book. Our apartment was really nice, very clean and well stocked with provisions. It is also in a great location- being far enough away from the more touristy parts of the French Quarter, and closer to the Frenchman Street area, which we preferred. Belinda also provided us with bicycles at a reasonable rate. Her dogs Nola and Shiro are very friendly and welcoming. We really liked this town and will definately come back again and would stay at Nola's again. Many thanks Belinda.

  • Well want can I say that everyone else hasn't already.. About 6 months ago I decided to go to New Orleans on a vacation, and knowing that I would be by myself for part of the trip I wanted to find an establishment that was close to the French Quarter, safe and felt like a home away from home.. After much research and reading all the positive feedback I chose to book Nola's Studio and let me tell you, I'm so glad I did. It was totally as described and more! It so happens that I ended up by myself for the whole trip but Belinda provided me with so much info on things to do and made me feel so comfortable that it didn't even matter. She even asked if I would like to join her on a walk to city park with her dogs Shiro and Nola (my new best friends!). I said yes, and was so glad I did as the park was absolutely beautiful!! During my 10 day stay in New Orleans I stayed in 3 different places and Nola's was by far the best in all aspects! The fridge and drawers were filled with cold beverages and snacks (even fresh fruit), the location was ideal, the value (or price of my stay) was very reasonable, and Belinda was a phenomenal host! Thanks so much Belinda! I hope to see you again.. Give Shiro and Nola a big sloppy kiss from me!

  • Our recent trip to New Orleans was great in every way, and staying at the NOLA's studio was a big part of that. The apartment was great, with a super compfy bed, a wonderful bathroom, and a well stocked pantry. Belinda (our host) gave us great restaurant and venue recommendations, and was really enthusiastic that we get to experience all that NOLA has to offer. The neighborhood, Treme, is the real star though. It is a close walk to the french quarter and the marigny, and a quick drive everywhere else we wanted to go. It is safe and quiet (no problems with noise or parking), and yet is bursting with life and creativity. While we were staying there (2 nights), we witnessed two separate second line parades only a block away from the apartment. NOLA's studio is a special place to stay in a truly special neighborhood, and I can't recommend it highly enough! If you are planning a trip to New Orleans, this is where you want to stay!

    Adam2012-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Whitney and Tom were great hosts, very available for questions and very thorough with maps, directions, friendliness, etc. My mom and I had a great time and enjoyed sleeping in the super comfy bed! I would most definitely stay there again. I loved the neighborhood and the studio is within walking distance to anything and everything we wanted to do!

    Linda2012-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in New Orleans and staying at the Nola apartment was the perfect place to rest after exploring all day and night. Very close to everything - we easily walked to the French quarter. I definitely felt safe, although would recommend taking a cab or uber in the evenings. The space is very clean and the bed is so comfortable. Whitney and Tom are great hosts. Tom thank you for the send off to the airport. We'll definitely book again for our next trip.

    Tatum2015-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • For some reason we never seen or talked to Whitney. That being said, everything was just as she said it would be in her message to me. The studio was very nice and clean. We did wake up the first morning to discover there was no coffee for the coffee maker. Not a big problem since we were going for breakfast and could get our coffee fix then. The neighborhood was pretty much what we expected as we had been to New Orleans before and a son lives in the area. Thanks for the rental of your studio Whitney, it served our purpose very well. • The house was exactly as pictured. Leslie responded to emails immediately and was available each time I called. The house was clean, welcoming and spacious enough for me and my 5 friends. Leslie, through his housekeeper, had 2 well stocked mini refriegerators, which was a very pleasant surprise. Snacks, water, wines and soda were available upon our arrival. The housekeeper had a prepared list of places to go and a map of the bus routes and where to catch the bus. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend anyone to stay there!

    Andrea2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • You'll be greeted and treated right. Lots of amenities and a very authentic New Orleans feel.

    Patrick2015-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment/house was just perfect. He even provided daily cleaning and laundry at no extra charge. We especially appreciated the large bathroom, two refrigerators stocked with drinks, wine, coffee pot, microwave and huge king sized bed. The location is great. The neighborhood is very eclectic and within 25 minutes walking distance from the center. We walked to and from town day and night with no worries. Robert offered to pick us up from the airport and talked to us about New Orleans with pride. The last day, I asked him for a hairdryer and within an hour he had gone out and bought one. All I can say is we would stay there again and so should you!

  • Our stay in the Real New Orleans was beyond perfect!!! Ernie was there to greet us when we arrived several hours early for our check in. Rob was very accommodating with our schedule. They showed us around the home and gave great instructions on how to use all lights, fans, ac, etc. Everything was very clean and we were blown away by all of the amenities offered! We could have left home with just the shirts on our backs and still had everything we needed when we arrived. The restaurant and attraction guides as well as the bus schedules and hand written directions to everything in the area were very helpful as well. And I must mention, the bed was like sleeping on a giant cloud! Ernie tidied and did laundry every single day. Both Rob and Ernie went far above and beyond what we could have expected. We plan to make this trip again for many years to come! If you don't stay in this amazing bnb, you are certainly missing out. The experience of a lifetime, the charming hospitality and the at home feeling of comfort made our stay one of the best we could imagine. Don't miss this gem.

  • We really had a pleasant stay in Bywater. Leslie warmly welcomed us when we arrived the house and gave us the keys. Leslie was a nice and friendly host. The house was so nice and we appreciated the daily cleaning of the house and the washing of our clothes. We enjoyed the neighborhood with bars, restaurants, cafes and small shops, and everything was just within a short walking distance. The fireworks by the Missisippi River on 4th july was spectacular to see and we will remember our trip to New Orleans forever.

    Freddy2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful place. Leslie is an awesome, welcoming and knowledgable host. The accommodation is exactly as pictured, a joy to stay in. The area is definitely on the up, there are a lot of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance, the country club is a must in the hot weather, great pool, great food and reasonably priced drinks. We loved our stay in a great city with a great host.

    Simon2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers had a fantastic stay at Leslie's place. The rooms are spacious and the beds super comfortable. I loved the extra things like soaps, drinks,snacks....even milk and juice left for us. Very thoughtful to do this for guests ..just love that Southern hospitality! I would highly recommend Leslie's place to anyone. We used public transport a lot as well as Uber and very easy to get around the city and felt safe walking around the neighbourhood. One tip though if you are travelling with children U21 years you are not allowed to go into many bars to listen to music unless they serve meals which can be a bit tricky. Good to do a bit of research first. A few we were able to get in were Maison in Frenchman St, BBkings in French Quarter and also Preservation Hall and the Jazz Museum performances at the Mint were great. Of course there is a lot going on in the streets for all ages. Thanks Leslie for a wonderful stay in New Orleans

    Margie2016-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie is a born host. Communication and special arrangements before arrival were excellent. A real story teller with great knowledge on the history and culture of the area and Nawlins. Enjoyed his infilling of additional information every time we return or leave for site seeing. The neighborhood was really an experience with friendly neighbors inviting us for chats, drinks and eats. Leslie went out of his way in treating us all the time with snacks and drinks whenever we needed it - regularly doing washing and even offering medical remedies for tired feet and bodies.

This beautiful home is in a perfect location to explore the City of New Orleans. It is a hidden gem within walking distance of Frenchmen Street, the best local cafes, bars and restaurants (L'il Dizzy's, Port of Call, Cafe Du Monde), and only 2 blocks from the French Quarters. The home is perfect for those who want to be near it all yet still have an authentic New Orleans experience that is usually only available to locals.
This is a true New Orleans home...you'll enjoy all of the traditional details, like the fireplace and exposed brick.
This neighborhood is alive. It's energy is quintessential New Orleans. You won't find a bad meal or a weak drink. The locals are always friendly and quick to start a conversation.

  • Great location few blocks from French Quarter! We brought our family with kids and it was a great place for us. Love the historical home and feel. A very New Orleans experience! The main bed was comfortable (pull-out will be ok for kids, etc.). Very spacious. Check-in and check-out were easy and the hosts were great! We will definitely be back with the kids for our future NOLA weekends!

  • This home is gorgeous and spacious for more than 1 person and very clean. It was a very pleasant walk into sites and sounds of New Orleans. We felt very safe walking home late from the French Quarter and Bourbon Street.

  • My 3 friends and I had a great stay at Mark's place! We visited NOLA for Mardi Gra and were pleasantly surprised with how walkable the house's location was to the center of the French Quarter while still being in a very residential area. The house was pleasantly clean, fully furnished and had everything we needed during our stay right down to the soap, towels and condiments in the refrigerator. The pull out couch could have been a little more comfortable, but we all had a good nights sleep nonetheless. We'd stay here again!

  • It was wonderful staying at the House of Sweet Dreams! The room was very neat and comfortable, and we loved the gold decorations. The house was conveniently located to several bus stops or a nice walk away from City Park or French Quarter. The booklet they provided with their local suggestions of things to do and eat was super helpful. Our favorite was breakfast at Cake Cafe! We would highly recommend a stay here! -Irene & Helen

  • It's a cute little house in a very interesting neigborhood. Unfortunately it looked different than on the pictures, it's not as bright and not as clean as shown. We just stayed three days so it wasn't a big deal but we were still a little bit disappointed. However, we had a great time in New Orleans and would come back every time.

    Anna2016-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • I did not personally meet Andrew, but the room was comfortable and clean and the location was convenient. Thank you.

  • Really sweet and cozy space that was a great spot to relax between sightseeing during the day and going out at night. I loved the handmade guidebook too, it directed me to some amazing spots I never would have found on my own. Street parking in this neighborhood was safe and there was always an open spot right near the house, which was nice. Overall, my whole experience with the Peach Parlor was really easy and pleasant. I'd definitely stay here again.

Semi-private room* in a cute and cozy shotgun house in the Marigny. 15 minute walk to the French Quarter, 12 minutes to Frenchmen St., 2 minutes to the Bywater. Located around the corner from a few restaurants, bars, a coffee shop, and grocery store. *Note, this room is yours and yours alone, but people have to walk through it to get to their room.
The house is a classic shotgun, a very common style of architecture for homes here in New Orleans. Our bedroom is the first room in the house, and we rent the next three rooms to guests (see our profile for links to the other rooms). Each room is arranged one behind the other. You will be walking through all of our bedrooms to get to your room, and while you'll have your room to yourself, people will need to walk below your loft to access the kitchen, other bedrooms, backyard, and bathroom. Both doorways have doors which you can close for more privacy. Please look through our photos to see the "blueprints" of our house, this will give you an idea to how it's laid out. Your room is the fourth room in the house, next to the kitchen. It comes furnished with a full size bed, bright lamp for reading, Christmas lights, fresh sheets, clean blankets, pillows, and towels - and it's on a loft!! Below the loft is our hangout room, where you are more than welcome to hangout and stretch your legs all you want.
Our location is probably our greatest feature. Our house is centrally located in the Marigny. Frenchmen St. jazz and music clubs are only six blocks away, the French Quarter is a ten minute, nine-block walk away in one direction, and the Bywater (neighborhood) is just over the train tracks, two blocks in the other direction. We are one block from Mardi Gras Zone, a 24 hour organic grocery store (now with an alcohol license!), and three blocks from Hank's, a 24 hour convenience store (where you can stock up on alcohol and fried chicken). Flora's Coffee shop is two blocks away. There are eight bars (ranging from fancy cocktail bars to dive bars) within a three block radius.
  • Katie and Matthijs are great hosts. They are very quiet and respectful and have a lot of great advice for what to do in the city. Everything was very clean, comfortable, and accommodating. It was fun to get to see how people live down in New Orleans. My husband and I loved staying with them!

    Kelli2015-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were totally awesome- I wish I was a neighbor! The space was comfortable. The location was perfect. I'd definitely stay again. Thank you!

  • Great place to stay in NOLA. We were there with family, all staying same place. Due to a mix-up, we needed someplace for one night. Took a little bit of overnight needs over in the afternoon and Katie & Matthijs greeted us, showed us our room & passed long some local tips. We returned late & left early so didn't have a chance for much interaction. A fun opportunity to experience a shotgun house which is so common there.

    John2015-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Super cool folks (including dogs)! I went out for lunch with Matthijs the first day I arrived, amazing guy! He told me a lot about Nola and the cool spots. The layout of the apartment is really funny, (shotgun style) I loved it. I had to climb up stairs to get to my bed. Katie is extremely friendly and took really good care of me as a guest and got me everything I needed. Excellent host! I traveled on my motorcycle and parked it right outside the door, no problem. I recommend staying if you like laid back people and to explore. In my opinion is this the best way how to experience a city like New Orleans

    Helmut2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Katie & Matthijs are kind, gracious, and helpful hosts- always willing to chat and provide advice. I'm not especially a dog person, but their dogs are perfectly nice, and their home is in a pleasant neighborhood. I had a great time.

  • Great host, really flexable and accommodating. Two nice dogs that make it nice to stay there. Walking distance to Frenchman street with all the bars & restaurants one needs to enjoy time in new orleans.

  • Katie and Matthijs are friendly and welcoming. They provide useful information about things to do in the area.

  • Katie and Matthijas were wonderful people, the room was exactly as advertised, and the area was really nice (about a 15 minute walk to Bourbon Street). Upon arrival they were very welcoming and gave me a whole bunch of great things to check out. I wasn't at the property a lot, but again, they were really great hosts and I would definitely stay there again should the opportunity present itself.

It comes furnished with a built in bed, curtain for privacy, XL twin mattress, reading lamp, a chair, vanity with a large mirror, clean sheets, fresh blankets, four pillows, a towel, and a white noise machine to cancel out house noises. The room accommodates one comfortably.
  • If you are a budged traveller and like the hostel atmosphere, this is your place, just a few blocks from Frenchman street. Katie gives great tips from places to go.

    Anna Gabriela2013-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • The room is very simple, just like the picture, and the house is very charming, and full of much potential. The neighborhood is also charming. There's even a bar on the other side of the block. I walked back and forth to the French Quarter, though there was a bike for me to use as well. I was only there one night, and through differing schedules never really got to see anyone, but was in communication with them the whole time via text messaging. It was awesome, and exactly what I needed.

    Danna2013-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Katie and Matthijs are a very welcoming couple, and their place is walkable to the French Quarter. The room I stayed in was simple and tastefully decorated, which I liked. Overall it was a clean and enjoyable stay.

    Yunzhi2015-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Katie and Matthijs were super nice hosts and told me all the bets places go in their hood. Rent a bike from down the street and really take in the city. The room was perfect-both clean and quiet. Would def. come and stay with again.

    Bob And Ana2015-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Katie and Matthijs's place over a week and I had a very pleasant stay. Both Katie and Matthijs were very friendly and accommodating. The house is a typical 'shotgun' house - very popular in New Orleans - which provides an authentic living experience. The neighbourhood is very nice and Katie and Matthijs will provide you with lots of useful tips of places to go and eat/drink. Follow these and you will not be disappointed.

    Rania2015-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay. Bed was comfortable, the room was nice, and Katie and Matthijs had really helpful suggestions about where to go and what to do. Things were clean and they were welcoming. I recommend!

    Abby2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Host was super friendly. I woke up early and walked around the neighborhood and took some great shot of murals and other cool things. The bed was comfy and the drapes provided privacy. Overall, I would spend the night here again.

    Tatty2016-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Arthur is a truly wonderful and unique host! He shared his home as well as a little bit of New Orleans. The place is a quick walk to the French Quarter and very comfortable. I was very happy with my experience in the Marigny!

  • We had a great time exploring NOLA. The apartment was very comfortable and clean.

  • It was a great stay. We did not meet Brandon but Trudell was super helpful. The unit looked just like the pictures. We found the location very convenient (give the Esplanade bus a try). It was a quiet and pleasant place to be, and the architecture of the building was so charming. Thanks!!

    Kristen2015-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The home was beautiful- built in the late 1800s with beautiful ceilings and all of the charm you would expect. Brandon's family greeted us as he was traveling. They were wonderful. They gave us several suggestions for dining and activities. They left us toiletries and treats in our apartment. We truly enjoyed our stay.

    Kaitlin2015-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • My sister and I visited New Orleans to celebrate her upcoming wedding and the weekend was truly magical. And the success of the weekend was in large part to our most gracious hosts. Trudelle (Brandon's Step-mom) is the loveliest. She made us feel like family, she treated us so well and gave us a very personal view on the city. Showing us her favorite spots, introducing us to NOLA Cuisine and hidden gems. And the apartment is stunning, clean and spacious. It's great walking distance to the quarter and we were able to easily find our way around. I will absolutely be coming back for a visit! Thank you so much for making the trip so memorable for my sister and I- it was truly special!

    Kim2014-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Brandon let us know weeks before that he would be out of town and that a lady named Trudell would be our host. Trudell was amazing. She was so nice and welcoming. The house was so full of southern charm and local flavor. The architecture, stairs, decorations, and even the music that played all day are just a few examples. The location was perfect. We were ten minutes from virtually every part of New Orleans that you would want to visit or see.

    Justin2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment not far from French Quarter. Cozy and true to New Orleans' style.

    Ben2015-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place

    Eddie2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Brendan, along with Truedell, made every effort to help us get into the apartment when we arrived and were very responsive to all our questions - the apartment itself is beautiful and very classic New Orleans and it was perfect for two people. Brendan is a very flexible host which left us with a very no-hassle stay!

  • Had an absolutely lovely stay in Gretta's little place! Apartment was small, homey and quirky in a great location. Perfect home base to see music both on Bourbon and Frenchman streets and on the other side of the city! Can't recommend this place enough.

    Megan2013-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Location was great and just what we needed. You can walk to so many places from the house. Very cozy and welcoming studio to stay in. It could be a bit cleaner.

    Kelsey2015-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in a great neighborhood. Gretta was responsive and gave me advice on things to do when I asked. The apartment was smallish but not tiny. It had everything I needed. And had a separate entrance. Highly recommended.

  • Great place perfect for 2. Perfect location.

    Hannah2014-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is cozy and has a lot of character, with awesome decoration and a good vibe. It's definitely an older place so it's a little drafty and weathered in places. Also the wifi didn't work when I was there which was a bummer. The location is great -- a sandwich shop right next door and just a few blocks to District Donuts, PJs coffee, and a bunch of other restaurants. All in all I had a nice time.

    Daniel2018-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Gretta was a very hospitable host. Quaint, lovely and comfortable apartment in a fantastic location on Magazine Street. Would definitely stay here again!

    Chris2013-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful experience (my first with airbnb)! Gretta was great with check in and check out. The place could not be located better. I brought a bicycle with me on this trip and was able to ride to the French Quarter and Audubon Park safely. Nothing like a bike in the French Quarter to avoid all the parking hassles. The place was clean and full of New Orleans culture. Oh ... there was a place for me to park my car off the street (a big bonus). Thanks Gretta ... I'll be back next time I'm in the area.

    Robert2014-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a really cute area and the experience was very nice. My reservation was made somewhat last minute and it was slightly hard to get a hold of the host.

  • De woning ligt verstopt achter enorme groene bladeren. Het is een oase, heel rustig en koel(!). Een perfecte uitvalsbasis om het kokende New Orleans te ontdekken. Vriendelijke, mooie wijk, geweldige plek!

  • Amazing place Ryan has.. He was very sweet when I came and he welcomed me in. I loved everything about my stay here.. The bed was amazing. I would definitely come back and stay if the place becomes available in the future!

    Ladesha2016-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great proximity to Tulane. Enjoyed having coffee available for first morning. Although spartan decor - the place had everything we needed- loved having a dishwasher. We were there on a very cold night - heat worked great! I liked the gas light at entrance and front porch.

    Tania 2018-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Close to a lot of great restaurants and night life

    Moe2017-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan was a great host. We got there a bit early but he let us check in while he finished a few things. The place was clean and the air conditioning worked great. The street traffic can be loud but it didn't bother us too much.

    Rachelle2017-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was perfect! Easy uber to everywhere I wanted to go in the city. The beds were particularly comfortable. Quality sheets and a pillowy soft mattress! Also, front porch chillin is essential to starting and ending a good evening for my crew. There was a fabulous front porch and lovely back porch space with this house.

A Newly renovated room which shares a bathroom with our #2 Room, the room has a standard double bed as well as a small refrigerator, a Table & Chairs, and Central Air Conditioning among other amenities. A complimentary Breakfast including fresh brewed coffee, cereal, toast and fruit is also available to guests, as is free use of our Bicycles.
This listing is for our 3rd bedroom. It has a shared bathroom. See our other listings (#1 or #4 for a private en-suite and #2 charming attic room with shared bath). The room does use a shared bathroom, but as most of our guests are focused on exploring the town, this is rarely more than an inconvenience. If you would prefer a room with a private bathroom, we would like to recommend our other listings Creole Cottage in historic Treme #1 and #4. The Cottage started life as a two family home shortly before the American Civil war and has been added to a number of times over the years, unfortunately the specifics of its history are difficult to pin down (although we can make some educated guesses). I am an Architect by trade, and Jazz Trumpet player by preference (I work on the house during the day and play music at night) currently I am in the process of restoring the cottage to its original character (with a few modern amenities). My Wife Liz assists with the Day to Day running of a Vintage Clothing Boutique in the French Quarter (just a stones throw from Jackson Square) which she commutes to either on foot along the Tree lined Boulevard or by the use of her Single speed cruiser (This town is very Bike friendly). My Son Avery moved here from New Zealand to assist with the renovations, although he has a habit of debating some of the design decisions with me, he's something of a geek and good with electronics. For those times you need a little down time, feel free to make use of our spacious (private) back yard, or find a spot on one of the chairs in our living room. Liz and I have traveled extensively (usually on a shoestring) and have friends in a number of countries, we're always happy to recount the tales of our adventures, or to listen to yours. It's a 20 minute walk(15 minute power walk!) to the French Quarter under those gorgeous 200 year old Oaks, surrounded by gorgeous 200 year old houses, on the old streetcar line. We have three beautiful rescued cats. Miss Doris Day from the Bronx and a couple of locals, Brian Lion and Rocky Raccoon. Our latest rescue is Sgt Pepper a Border Collie.

    Thales2016-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Rick and Liz made us feel so welcome in their home! We loved staying in Treme and enjoyed the use of the bikes for getting around. The room was comfortable and having breakfast available everyday was great, we would stay again in a snap!

    Monica2015-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed with Rick and Liz for a couple of days while I was in town for work. They were very kind and welcoming, and their house is well-appointed and in a very convenient location! I loved spending time with their cats! A great place to stay.

  • I enjoyed the hospitality of this Kiwi-American family who were friendly, thoughtful & approachable. My room was large, comfortable & appealing and the family were always available to answer questions I had about the city. The location of their home is in walking distance to the Mississippi River, French Quarter and City Park and close to a quality neighbourhood cafe. Highly recommend. Thank you Rick, Liz & Avery. Hope to come back one day.

  • This was by far our favourite airbnb experience thanks to the beautiful Liz & Rick! Thank you for making us feel so comfortable and welcome in your beautiful home :) Your kindness is greatly appreciated! Great location, yummy breakfast, wonderful people and super clean! It was really nice to meet people staying in the other rooms too.Thank you! :) Highly reccommend staying here!

  • Rick and Liz were fantastic hosts! We felt very comfortable and welcomed from the moment we arrived, and they were generous in answering our questions about New Orleans. We especially appreciated the breakfast that was laid out every morning and the use of the house bikes. We were able to bike all over the city on our last day. The energy in the house is laid-back, friendly and attentive, and we enjoyed the camaraderie of interacting with our hosts and the other guests. The bed was super comfortable, too! I would recommend Rick and Liz's classic New Orleans cottage to anyone seeking welcoming accommodations in New Orleans. This was one of our favorite trips.

    Julie2013-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed the hospitality of both Rick and Liz. They were welcoming and very informed about NOLA. The room was clean and comfy - although their is no individual lock on the room door. Their home is well proximate to the main action of the lovely city. They have bikes to use for nearby ventures. If you plan on buying souvenirs, you will need a car. Would visit again!!

    denise2013-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Rick & Liz's home is located in a beautiful historic neighbourhood just a 20 min walk from the French Quarter / Frenchman St & is an ideal base for exploring the wonderful city of New Orleans. The house is tastefully decorated and the room size generous. There is use of a kitchen, living room, shared bathroom, laundry and lovely quaint garden, as well as cruiser bikes. There are other rooms rented in the house which means there are always people about to talk to if you want company over breakfast etc. Rick & Liz have a lovely dog (I'm scared of dogs but he was so placid) and a collection of rescue cats, one of which kept us company for our entire stay and came to the road to see us off into our cab! I highly recommend this property to anybody visiting New Orleans. Rick and Liz will make you feel very welcome.

This free standing casita, tucked away in a tropical garden, includes a small refrigerator with refreshments, jazz records, New Orleans literature, and a clawfoot tub. Off of Esplanade Avenue, it is halfway between the French Quarter and City Park.
The casita is located in the backyard of a side-gallery shotgun cottage. I have been renting it through Airbnb for two years but recently changed to my on profile. The main house was built as part of a series of shotguns developed by two brother from Cienfuegos, Cuba in the early 1860s. The casita is its own building, built in a modern design in 2010. You can come and go as you please through our lush side garden. Inside, there is a very comfortable queen sized bed and bathroom with a clawfoot tub. You are welcome to use the washer and dryer and there is a small refrigerator and kettle. We include some local snacks as part of your stay. We also have a record player with music from New Orleans and books from the region and my own nonprofit publishing organization, the Neighborhood Story Project, for you to enjoy while you are here.
This old Creole neighborhood, in the heart of downtown New Orleans, is in between the French Quarter and City Park. Just a block and a half off Esplanade Avenue, a beautiful boulevard canopied in live oak trees, it is also very close to Bayou Road, the first road in New Orleans! From the house, you can walk to this street, where there is a wonderful collection of shops, including the Pagoda Cafe with the best coffee in town and wonderful breakfast and lunch (located in an old Chinese laundry building), the King and Queen's Emporium (which sells handmade soaps in one of the city's first public market buildings), the CocoHut (New Orleans/Jamaican food), and Domino Sounds Record Shop, which has been featured in national publications as one of the best record stores in the country.
  • -Rachel was a great host. She was responsive the couple of times we needed help. The NOLA guide she created was also very insightful! -I found the neighborhood to be charming and quiet-- and it was ideally located for us to get in and out of the French Quarter via Lyft. It was also a comfortable walk to Willie Mae's (delicious!!) and the Broad Theatre. -The casita itself was a nice little private space that was clean and a place I looked forward to coming home to each night. -Little amenities like a water boiler, towels, and mini fridge (with water and beer!) made a big difference. -I recommend the casita for solo travelers or couples as there is only one big bed and it's more an an intimate space (:

    Jhoana Rose2017-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is an excellent little casita located in New Orleans. It is definitely off the beaten path of Bourbon Street, but we wanted to be away from all that. Rachel had some awesome snacks and drinks for us when we arrived, and although we didn't meet her she still managed to make us feel very welcome! Since it was summertime, we did not walk to the French Quarter from her place, but I would definitely do it if the weather were a bit cooler. A word of warning - the path to the casita is a bit long and uneven, so make sure you plan ahead! Our suitcase on wheels did not do so well! Ha! Also, it can be a bit dark on the way back at night. Overall, our stay was just what we needed at the end of a long road trip. The space was perfect for my boyfriend and I, would not recommend for any more than two people though. The bathroom was really cute too. She had shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and hand soap in the bathroom for us. I must admin that the mirror was a bit small and the shower curtain a bit tricky to configure correctly. That being said, I would definitely stay here again, and hope I have the chance to in the future! Thanks for the great stay Rachel :)

    Katya2016-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel was great with communication during my stay. Loved the records. The place is perfect for one person or a couple. Quiet neighborhood with many local bars/music/food that is off the beaten path from your usual tourist attractions in New Orleans. Cold brew in the fridge was amazing as well as a few local beer offerings. Two things that were unfortunate. There were a number of mosquitoes in the space upon my arrival. The are naturally drawn to me for some reason so I had a number of mosquito bites. I reached out to Rachel who responded quickly that there was bug spray in the unit and if it was an issue to let her know. The casita is in a tropical, secluded-feeling back yard. That combined with the early summer heavy rains brought out the mosquitoes. Just unfortunate they got in the place. Second thing, the A/C spat out water onto the bed all night. This is he thing though, you should pretty much expect this at many places in NOLA during the summer. I was dripped in at a number of bard and restaurants also. The A/C was just working hard! Just made for less sleep than I would have preferred. Overall, love the space and neighborhood. I'd stay again, maybe not in the middle of the summer.

    Rosalinda2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place was exactly what I needed! A private get away, tucked in a little paradise. I really did enjoy my stay and the air conditioning worked so well ( thank goodness!! ) I highly recommend this little casita, if you're looking for a quiet place to retreat between partying it up downtown and stuffing your face with Gumbo! <3

    Julianna2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a fantastic time at the Casita! Rachel met us when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. She had set up the house with local treats, tea, and beer! And an awesome record player. The bed and overall apartment were very comfortable. The house is a little ways from the hub bub of downtown, but we quite enjoyed walking down to the French Quarter each morning. Like other reviews say, just be aware that it is a short ride or walk down there, but well worth it. We had a blast!

    Genny2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Such an awesome outdoor area with separate entrance. Loved the location too! Would definitely stay at Rachel's again.

    Samantha 2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • La Casita is a lovely place . It's quiet and there's everything you need such equipment in the house with a washing machine and a tumble dryer . Rachel was very well received and we informed us about New Orleans

    Sandra2016-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • This casita was exactly what my husband and I needed when we visited New Orleans for a long weekend. The casita was simple, comfortable and in a great location for us. We LOVED Treme - it was real, friendly, and close to downtown but not in the direct mix of tourists. We walked everywhere - having only needed a taxi to and from the airport. We logged many miles on our legs! We went to Pagoda Cafe twice at the suggestion of Rachel - we would highly recommend it. Would suggest this lovely tiny home to anyone visiting NOLA interested in having a real experience away from Bourbon Street.

  • we had an amazing time in new orleans. it was wonderful to come back to such a clean and well equipped apartment. we didn't utilize the kitchen but the bedroom, bathroom and bike loaners were all well provided amenities. andrew was super helpful and friendly. they provided a manual to new orleans which was well done and helpful to have. the booking process was a miracle. at 7:15pm we were in a defeated deflated state in the parking lot of a hampton inn outside the city. we were actually about to go stay at the super 8 motel for $80/night. airbnb saved the day. we booked the bedroom at 7:30 pm got a text from andrew at 7:35pm and were checking into a clean and cozy and well executed versailles style bedroom by 8 pm! $60/night and no reservations! thank you sweet dreams, we had a sweet time.

  • Our stay at the House of Sweet Dreams was a wonderful experience. Andrew was welcoming and very hospitable from our arrival onwards. He gave us a little "zine" (that he made!) that was filled with favorite local spots that I would never have found otherwise. Some highlights were the Chime Tree in City Park and a lovely little breakfast spot called Satsuma. We couldn't have been happier with our experience. Also, borrowing the FREE bikes was an incredibly convenient way to see the city. We would not have been able to absorb as much of the local culture without them.

    Colin2014-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Andrews place was in a great location, just a bike ride away from the French Market. The bed was super comfortable and the house itself was clean and tidy. The use of the free bikes were great and made commuting around the city fairly easy. Overall it was a great stay and I would definitely recommend it.

    Edna2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was great! We were very pleased with the location, the cleanliness and the ease of stay. Our bed was big and comfy with fresh towels and a handy zine and map that was thoughtful. Our favorite part was definitely access to the bikes! Andrew was responsive when I needed him. Would definitely stay again!

    Lauren2015-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew was an extremely gracious host! The listing was exactly as described and providing extremely comfortable accommodations for my first time in Nashville. The neighborhood is beautiful and friendly and there are great restaurants and bars within walking distance. In addition, the French Quarter is a short bike ride away and Andrew generously keeps multiple bikes available for use for his guests. I could not recommend this spot more!

    Annie2015-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Andrews place was very short but still very comfortable. The whole process was very streamlined, I wouldn't have even had to speak with Andrew at all if I would have just read all the info on the email, but I'm new to Airbnb and I was confused at first. But they had everything set up to be very convenient. The bed was very fluffy and comfortable and the room was beautiful! The neighborhood made me feel slightly uncomfortable but not too bad.

    tetley2016-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay in the Marie Antionette room. Andrew was out of the country but made the check in process easy and very welcoming. He had a guide to the city that we used and loved. The room was very clean, quiet, and charming. Not too big, but not too small. The other guests in the house were quiet except for the few younger gals who must have had a little too much to drink on Bourbon street. LOL Andrew's place provided some great quality bikes that we used to see the city from a whole new perspective. The neighborhood was safe, quaint and pretty close to everything without feeling like you are in the middle of a party city. Checking in was easy. We showed up about 15 minutes early for the 3pm check in and Andrew's friend Alicia who was helping him out gladly allowed us to check in a tad early. Upon check out, Andrew let us take the bikes out for one last ride before we left for the airport. I would definitely stay with Andrew again and recommend him to anyone looking for a nice, safe, and price efficient space for a great time in NOLA.

  • Great place! Bit of a pricy cleaning fee.

    Abby2018-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • As a first time Air BnB user, I was so impressed. The apartment itself was spotless, conveniently located, and well stocked with the necessities. Brent was extremely quick to respond to any messages we sent him. We will definitely stay here again!

  • This is located in the convention area of NOLA. Fair price for a room.

  • Brent's Saratoga unit is clean and comfortable. love the building and convenience. make sure to get your selfie with the bunnies in the lobby

    Lewis2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Place was perfect for city folk like me. Stylish (and comfortable) digs with high rise views. Location was ideal. It was a 15 min walk (3 min cab) to the French quarter party, but just far enough away to get some R & R. The place even had a washer and dryer in-unit!! Loved it, staying there again next time I’m back.

    Donny2018-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • We were in a rush to get a place because we would be flying the entire day to get to NOLA. This place looked convenient and I thought it would be super close to the main part of the French Quarter. I liked the fact that we could drop our bags off early and could explore until the room was ready for check-in. We found the place with little to no effort and our host was good at communicating. Alot of people have commented on the strange display at the front of the lobby. If you have ever heard of Alex Podesta then you will know what to expect, if not, you could look him up. The cleaning lady explained to us to use the elevator and check-in, she was super nice. She got us to the room where we dropped off our bags and headed out to see what the French Quarter had to offer. Now the part that I didn't really like was that the place wasn't as close as I was expecting. About 2 block walk you will make it to the French Quarter but not to the main part of the quarter which is probably why you were going in the first place. That was about another 5 block walk. Though accurate on being in the French quarter in 2 blocks it wasn't where we were wanting to be. Checking in was super easy because of the very friendly cleaning lady. We liked how spacious the place was and that if needed could have more people in the room with us. The bad was that the place wasn't very stocked with anything for cooking. We picked up a frozen pizza and couldn't find a sheet to put the pan on. The bed was like others have said, super squeaky to the point if I or my significant other needed to get up at night we would be guaranteed to wake the other person up in bed, or in the apartment for that matter. Another thing to note is that this place can be rather loud due to some kind of police station nearby. The shower was also strange due to the fact that only half of the shower had a glass cover and the other half was exposed causing a lot of water to sprinkle out. The good was that this place was large and we had the entire place to ourselves. We connected our Netflix to the tv and watched some shows while we ate our pizza. The check out was super easy and easy to follow. I really liked how the host was easy to communicate, and how he sent us a message with suggestions of things to do. You could probably pay for a cheap Uber or Lyft from this location, or if you prefer could walk from here to the French Quarter but know that with the humidity and heat it would probably be a little bit of a trek. I also...

  • Mark's place was amazing!!!! My boyfriend and I spent his birthday here and it couldn't have been better! The apt is better than it looks in pics. It is super clean, really beautiful and in such a convenient location! We practically walked everywhere. Also, Mark & Truedell were super helpful and so nice! I highly recommended this place! We hope to come back soon!!

  • Stylish,Spacious,Clean and good location. Walking distance to famous street, unique and safe neighborhood. Easy check in and check out. Good for couples Only some cons - WiFi doesn’t work well - no towel hanger in the bathroom - you will hear the neighbor in the morning But overall I highly recommended to stay here

  • We enjoyed our stay at this condo in New Orleans. There was plenty of room for our party of 5 to sleep and beds were comfortable. There were plenty of towels, and it was nice to have toiletries provided so we didn't have to pack anything extra. The treats they left us upon arrival were a nice touch. The location was great, easy walking to the French Quarter and we felt safe even walking back late at night. The street noise was pretty loud our first night with construction trucks and/or street cars but it is New Orleans. Overall very happy with our stay!

  • Was perfect for my bachelorette party walking distance to the bars and fit everyone comfortably

  • Fantastic location. Well done apartment. Safe and quiet neighborhood.

    Jessica2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • This condo was absolutely amazing! Very clean, organized and functional. We were able to fit 7 people comfortably to enjoy a bachelorette weekend. It was initially a little difficult to find due to some Mardi Gras structures blocking road signs. I wouldn't recommend bringing a car unless you park at the Hilton or in the parking deck due to street parking filling up pretty quickly each day. Overall, great experience and can't wait to come back!

This cute 1 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment truly feels like an oasis. Let it be your refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is located in Treme on Bayou Road, near the famed French Quarter. Perfect for Jazz Fest and other events. Book today!
Our apartment is located in a historic home. You'll appreciate the beauty of the original floors and finishes. The furnishings are both comfortable and functional, while honoring the style of the home. We can comfortably accommodate two people, although a third person could definitely sleep on the couch.
You'll love the neighborhood. Tremé is a culturally rich area, full of gorgeous architecture and a deep musical tradition. It's an easy walk to the French Quarter and famed Congo Square. Also nearby is St. Louis Cemetary #1, resting place of Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau.
  • Every detail of this apartment is exactly as described. It is located on the second floor of a gorgeous four-column house in Treme. You're greeted by Truedell who has the best recommendations as to where the locals hang out (if you're looking for a more authentic experience.) They provide any amenities you might happen to forgot, like toothbrush, deodorant, shampoo, etc. They have truly thought of it all and it was the perfect place for my birthday weekend. The house is walkable to the French Quarter or just a short $4-$5 Lyft ride. You can also get to pretty much any part of the city for under $15 via Lyft.

  • We loved this place! The hosts are helpful and friendly and the apartment is wonderful. We had a great experience.

    Jason2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • The house was beautiful! the space was private and wonderfully decorated. The character and soul of the home was comfortable and inviting. We loved the space! Cheap uber to the quarter, traffic to and from is never that bad.

    Ryan2016-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great! Walking distance from the French Quarter, plenty of space with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living area. The host was very nice and unobtrusive throughout our entire stay. Highlights include the 11 foot high ceilings, wood floors, and spacious bed. The air-conditioner works very well, needed during the hot June nights. We couldn't be more happy with the space. One minor gripe would be that the wi-fi signal is not strong enough to reach the apartment (though you can get a signal in the hallway). Overall this is an excellent spot and we'll be staying again when we go back to New Orleans!

    Chad2016-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time in NOLA, and our lovely host contributed to this. She was exceptionally warm and welcoming! The apartment was just as beautiful as pictured and even more spacious than we expected. The veranda out front was a special treat. We really enjoyed starting our mornings there with a cup of coffee, and ending our evenings there with a drink. Nothing in the city was more than a $5 or $6 Uber away. We'll be back next year, if not sooner!

    Tracy2016-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • I've left a review already, as I ended up extending my trip and booking another 3 weeks on top of my initial 2 week stay. The place is fantastic. I cannot recommend it highly enough. If choosing between a hotel and a place like this, I'd go with this place. Especially if you're staying for more than a week- as I can't stand hotel stays for longer than 4 or 5 days. This place feels like home, has all the amenities. The bathroom is amazing!!! Shower that could fit 10 people and a huge jacuzzi tub. EXCELLENT ACCOMMODATION!

    Patrik-Ian2015-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and stayed in Brandon's apartment from 11/7-11/11. The place is spacious and beautifully decorated. Brandon was a fantastic host and was available to answer any of our questions both during and after the trip. The champagne and food that was left for us was a nice touch. The location provides easy access to all of New Orleans attractions. We walked to the French Quarter during the day and took a cab at night. I would absolutely recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to New Orleans.

    Heidi2014-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first experience with Airbnb and Brandon and his apartment set the bar so incredibly high. Sure, the pictures look great but it’s another thing to experience this place first hand. The ceilings, mirrors, shower, balcony, everything is so perfect. What's that... You forgot deodorant? Maybe you dropped your toothbrush in the toilet or TSA confiscated your soap? Doesn't matter, Brandon's got your back with a basket full of toiletries (and candy). Nursing a hangover from the night before? Brandon's got a Keurig machine and plenty of K-cups. Ohhh... you're looking to keep the party going? How about you crack open the beers or pop the campaign that Brandon left you in the fringe. Did you decide to visit New Orleans on a whim without planning any meals or activities? You know that display of ratty, sub-par brochures that every hotels has, well instead of that Brandon left you a hand typed list of his favorite places and will also rattle off a bunch more when he greets you personally. I literally cannot say enough good things about Brandon, his place, and New Orleans. It was truly awesome to experience New Orleans all day and then fall sleep in a place just a beautiful.

Visit our 100-year-old warehouse loft! We are one block from the Canal Streetcar in a true NOLA neighborhood. 2 Blocks to Whole Foods & Lafitte Greenway bike path. Near French Quarter, Mardi Grad Parade Routes and Fairgrounds.
Location, location location! We are close to everything! We lived uptown for many years and just moved. We love it here and can walk to everything. There is free, ample street parking right in front of the property.

  • Neighborhood is in transition, but no problems. John and Keely are very nice and available for any questions. Room is good sized for us (2 people and a dog). Plenty of beer in fridge.

    Mel2015-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nice building with a cool layout. The bed was VERY comfy and was awesome after a long day of walking however we were woken up by the loud guests who stayed upstairs. We heard just about everything they did, closing doors, opening drawers, dropping stuff, walking around, even phone conversations! Besides that a few extra towels would be nice. Overall the room was nice and what we expected. The voodoo chips were a nice treat since I've never had them before. There were no promised beers but luckily there's a convenient store a block away. Very close to the street car as well.

Which, for our vacation was perfecttttt! Great security, great bed, great location, and wonderful Southern hospitality! Also, the "stuffiness" issue has been solved by a floor air unit. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this listing to a couple! Thank you!

This is a true New Orleans cottage, charming and comfortable.
We are on a gorgeous street, very close to the French Quarter.

    Luiz2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy was simply the best! She is the perfect Airbnb host - her warm and charming demeanor is the perfect welcome to New Orleans. Her home is exactly as it looks in photos, but even cozier and more inviting in reality. She left us with many neighborhood recommendations, and the property is conveniently located to the French Quarter, Uptown, and the Treme neighborhood. The cottage was very comfortable and went beyond meeting our needs. My only regret was that I didn't get to hear more about Kathy's beautiful home and her experiences in New Orleans. I highly recommend staying here with Kathy!

    Brantley2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Four of us stayed in the cottage for 5 days and it was perfect. Plenty of room, clean, beds were cozy, plenty of hot water, etc. The outdoor patio would be very nice in warmer weather. Katherine is a very good hostess, available when needed. The neighborhood is nice (hipster) with restaurants, and a coffee shop within walking distance. There is a bus stop near by, but we used UBER to get everywhere. Pretty much all the places we wanted to go were a $7-8 uber ride away. I was glad we decided to stay outside of the French Quarter....much more quiet, and clean!

    Holly2016-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Katharine was the loveliest of hostesses. She made us feel right at home, even when we surprised her by arriving early. The place is beautiful and couldn't be in a greater location! Just off of Esplanade it was an easy walk to some nice neighborhood restaurants. Definitely try the Paella at Lola's, it was one of my favorite things I've eaten here. It's about a mile and a half to the French quarter which was an easy enough walk for us, or you can walk up to City Park and catch a street car! I absolutely recommend this place for location, peacefulness, and comfort.

    Damien2015-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • First time using Airbnb and I couldn't of asked for a better experience. Katharine did an excellent job making us feel at home by providing great insight into nearby coffee shops, restaurants, and attractions, as well as providing excellent living conditions. The condo was in a great location and in superb shape for us to come back to during our stay. Best of all for a planner like myself, proceeding and during the entire stay she was extremely responsive to any questions and even provided helpful guidance for areas of concern we had expressed.

    Erik2015-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy's rental home in New Orleans was an amazing place to stay. It was obviously an old house, but all the amenities were updated and it was a very comfortable stay. The location made it very easy to get down to the French Quarter, and was only a hop and a skip away from the street car, French Market, and more. I'd 100% recommend staying with Kathy if you are able to.

    Ben2015-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Katharine was an excellent host from greeting to farewell during our stay at her cottage. She was very informative and gave great suggestions for restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay! We really enjoyed the proximity to the French quarter!

    Cody2015-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Katharine was very hospitable and gave us some great recommendations of places to visit and eat. The cottage was exactly as pictured and was very comfortable. The location was was very convenient. We would love to stay here again and will definitely recommend Katharine's beautiful cottage to friends.

Our cozy little cottage opens onto an oversized Southern screened porch that leads to a private courtyard. Festive nights in the French Quarter can be followed with a nightcap on the porch or early morning coffee listening to the song birds bringing in the new day.
Our 105 year old home flanks the newly renovated cottage with a private entrance to the courtyard and cottage. The screened porch and lush tropical courtyard welcomes guests to a real New Orleans experience.
The Bywater neighborhood is a mixed income area with both hipsters, artists, musicians, families and a very diverse culture of New Orleanians. Galleries and art markets along with restaurants, live music venues and thrift shops can be found within a few blocks. We are on a bus line, near Crescent Park that follows the river to the French Quarter and only about 1.5 miles from all the Quarter and Frenchmen Street action.
  • Phyllis was a fantastic host. Charming, helpful and friendly. Space was cozy and breezy - nice garden patio and small fully equipped kitchenette. Located in Bywater area - bars, coffee shops and restaurants close by (about a 10-20 minute walk to most places). Would stay again.

    Zoe2016-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Phyllis was absolutely incredible. Her space is so cute and cozy and we instantly felt at home. The patio area is incredible and full of beautiful plants; a PERFECT spot to read and sip your morning coffee before you go exploring. Rideshares into the French Quarter were quick and only $5-$10, even at peak times! Even so, we found ourselves spending more and more time in the Bywater area with Phyllis's AMAZING recommendations (Jack Dempseys, Kajun's Pub, and Satsuma were the highlights of our trip). We couldn't have asked for a better hostess for our first trip to New Orleans and we will absolutely be back. THANK YOU PHYLLIS!!!

  • Phyllis is a wonderful host. She was at the ready to offer up suggestions on where to get the best coffee and food or anything else I needed. The place is is very cozy and thoughtfully designed. I walked to the French Quarter and there are plenty of good restaurants just down the street. I would highly recommend.

    Gabrielle2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Phyllis's place was great!! Exactly what we had imagined and more. It's a nice little cottage that is close enough to all the main tourist attractions but it also lets you experience the life of a local as well. We had a great time and Phyllis had awesome recommendations of things to do/eat that were awesome as well. Overall great place, great location, and great price!!

    Brandy2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Phyllis was a great host! Communication was on point and she happy to help us out any way we needed or leave us be if that's what we wanted. The location was about 10-15 minutes from any major location we went to and although it was street parking we never felt worried about our vehicle. The only thing that would've made this place better would've been a bigger shower and harder water pressure (I'm a shower snob) haha. It really was the perfect little place for us though. You won't regret it.

    Kayla2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Phyllis’s Place is in a great spot for what we wanted and it has great charm and she was a wonderful host with a heart of gold. We could not recommend her highly enough.

Tiny rustic studio apartment in 100 year old New Orleans house. Loft bed. Has stains in bathtub. Porch. Kitchenette for coffee, tea and lighter cooking. Only takes 8 mins to walk to Frenchmen Street and about 15 min to the French Quarter. 5 min with cab.
Stains in claw-foot bathtub that won't come out. Clean but very old with many stains. Vintage, rustic, shabby chic.
Residential neighborhood 70% black, 30% white if that makes you feel uncomfortable, don't come to New Orleans or don't leave your hotel. Usually quiet but just a short walk or cab ride to Frenchmen Street, French Quarter etc...
  • We stayed here for 2 weeks and loved it. Neighbourhood is so convenient and the 2 neighbours were lovely. We had a great stay and would definitely stay again. Great value for having our own place in walking distance to the Quarter.

    Ceri2017-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming studio with everything you need on hand. I love the way it was decorated and felt at home as soon as I walked in. The neighborhood is very quiet and a short walk to the French Quarter. I will definitely try to stay here again the next time I come to New Orleans!

    Sarah2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy, and had all the necessities we needed. Loved the Boho feel of the studio. Isobel had some great recommendations

    Amanda2016-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Isobel's place was better than perfect. It feels like home from the moment you open the door. The Edith Piaf album cover on the wall inspired us to play french cabaret songs for the two days we were there. Everything about Isobel's place is happy and soothing. A true New Orleans oasis. Exactly as described, even more charming in person.

    Eric2016-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • We carefully browsed the reviews, and while many of them are unflattering, my boyfriend and I opted to stay here given its exceptional location. We enjoyed multiple elements of the apartment such as the wonderful light the main room gets, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the decor was quirky yet chic. However, we were disappointed that we weren't informed of the construction taking place on the property, and we felt misled by the state of the place (such as the number of things needing fixing to provide security and comfort as well as the overall cleanliness). Nevertheless, we're grateful for our time here and in New Orleans as a whole.

    Kat2018-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Cute, charming little place.

    Angela2017-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • They were so nice to let us check in early, but the place was quite dirty. Several months ago when I booked it I noticed a few reviews mentioned the carpet needed vacuumed, but since then there have been more that mention the level of cleanliness. The floor in the bathroom/kitchen looked like it hadn't been mopped in a long time, and the tub was so dirty we did not shower during our stay (and this place has a $40 cleaning fee). The sheets smelled fresh but had long light hairs on them. The street was quiet, but someone in the next room started playing piano around 5am, and the door separating those two rooms doesn't seal so it was pretty loud. Super cute place, and very close to frenchmen st, but sorry to say we were disappointed.

    Sasha2017-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was great. Tiny and cozy, just what we need to rest at night. The bathroom is in the same space as the kitchen, but we didn't mind. The location is close to Frenchman street and to a bicycle rental shop (A bicycle called desire) highly recomended. It is 20 minutes walking to French Quarter and 15 minutes to Bywater, another recomended neighborhood. Isobel was helpful and gave us cool tips about Nola.

Great, 2 large room suite with king bed, new jacuzzi (someone broke the jacuzzi part) bath and all the amenities you need. There's a mini fridge (for all your great local leftovers), microwave, coffee maker, tea pot, brita water and cable/wifi.
2 large private rooms (parlor and bedroom) and full bath in a great location, with cafe & coffee shops nearby. The bedroom has a king size bed and the parlor room has a twin bed, if you need more sleep areas. I also have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The space has your own private locked entrance and is just off my front porch, which is a great spot to have your morning coffee or tea. Easy off-street parking, too. I have 2 bikes (huffy’s) you can use at your own risk, but you need to let me know before I leave for work so I can get them out for you. You are responsible for damage or theft and I req a $10/bike use fee to cover maintenance, bc it req extra work to tend to bikes. There are neighborhood rentals, but I think they are 30-40/day. Also, if traveling w pet need to approve with me and there is a $20 fee for pets. If you are a solo guest or staying longer than 6 days I will give you a break on price!o
The marigny is the greatest neighborhood and this space is all yours--its your own oasis in the front of my house w own entry. Easy and close (usually just in front of house) street parking. You can walk to the French quarter, frenchmen st., or just enjoy all the marigny has to offer. I have cable, wi-fi, central ac & am willing to consider pets. Note: I have 2 dogs & 2 cats that are very friendly, but they stay in my living space. This is a great place to stay for an authentic new Orleans experience in one of usa's best neighborhoods (look it up, it's true).
  • Kerrie's place is really great and a 15 minute walk to the French Quarter. The place was fantastically clean and the neighborhood is quiet and feels safe. We walked home in the evenings without any incidents. The place has everything you could need for a stay in the great city. I would definitely recommend booking with Kerrie :)

    Johan2015-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • The listing description is accurate and the location was within comfortable walking distance of the French Quarter. I only saw the host twice when I arrived and when I left. I'm a writer and despite the sounds of renovation in the house next door I found it a very comfortable place to spend time, write and relax. She even provided ear plugs. I loved the bathroom and bed was quite comfortable. It was nice to have a small fridge and microwave in my bedroom. Since I was traveling alone and am considering spending more time in New Orleans it would've been nice to spend some time with her to get to know her, but she has a busy life, working during the day and taking care of her three large dogs. Ideal airbnb for someone who wants privacy or two love birds.

    Anna2016-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Super neighborhood! Quiet, yet ideal for grabbing a bite within 1-2 blocks. THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY if you are here for the live music along Frenchman Street 4 blocks away. Kerrie has a very thoughtful setup, easy entry, very nice new modern bathroom. A big plus is the KING bed, so hard to find in NOLA. Kerrie is a wonderful host with a wealth of knowledge about the area. We highly recommend staying here.

    Iris2014-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the central location of the space and how easy it was to get anywhere we wanted to go in the city. It was mostly quiet though there was construction noise next door when we were told there would not be. The place was spacious and comfortable and would be ideal for three people. We appreciated the host letting us stay past checkout time since we had a late flight. It was nice to have access to the bikes.

    Mecca2016-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first airbnb experience, and it makes me want to have many more! Kerrie was 100% responsive, honest, clear, helpful. Her place was exactly as described, and provided us with the perfect base for a perfect Jazz Fest weekend. I had lived in New Orleans for 15 years (have been away for 9, since Katrina) and wanted to introduce a new friend to the city and its charms. Kerrie's lovely cottage in the Marigny provided all I was hoping for, and more: a comfortable king-sized bed, a deep bathtub, high ceilings, nice art on the walls, coffee-maker + fridge + microwave, a great neighborhood -- plus baby birds nesting in a hanging fern on the lovely front porch! Although we never got to meet Kerrie, I feel I have a new friend in a place I will always love.

    Joyce2014-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • kerrie and her sweet suite were our anchor for an amazing Nola visit. such a mellow neighborhood, a perfect location for exploring on her cruisers--nola is very easy to navigate by bike. her apartment was comfy in temps that ran from 40 to 80. great porch times sipping coffee. LOVE her happy pups Stella and Brando. kerrie.s hints to eat at cake, three muses and horn.s got us to amazing meals and sounds, and her suggestion sheet led us on fine adventures. Algiers ferry w biking on West Bank was a high point, and every evening on Frenchmen ... thanks so much, kerrie, we will be back :)

  • Very well decorated and clean. Alycia was a gracious host and very accommodating. We used cabs, about $10-$13 to go anywhere. Friendly neighbors. Very spacious and relaxing. If you are staying here during a busy time (we stayed during halloween weekend) I suggest renting a car. The only downside is the location during busy times of the year. Cabs consistently were on time during the week, but during friday rush hour and saturday morning we could not get a cab in under an hour.

  • We enjoyed our stay in New Orleans and it lived up to its reputation. Gregs apt was clean and tidy , although feeling a little tied and perhaps in need of some paint. The beds were very comfortable and had a great bath which was very well received after a long day of walking. The kitchen is an excellent size and apart from a bit more crockery was perfect for our requirements. The neighbour hood does not have a safe feel about it , but according to our uber driver , this is true of most of New Orleans. Wi-Fi was excellent.

    John2016-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nice clean secluded spot a ten min ride into French quarter or garden district. As long as you can drive/uber everywhere you'll be good!

    Jon2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this home. I came with my girlfriend, my sister and her boyfriend for a couple's weekend and we absolutely enjoyed our stay. The home was definitely a great stay. It was close to everything that we needed and complimented the essence of New Orleans! Emily (and Greg) was a great host. She was very helpful from the days leading up to the stay until we checked out. She was easy to communicate with and was such an amazing host! We loved our stay!

    Ronnie2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • The AirBnB is fantastic. Great atmosphere and location just a short drive from the Quarter! Greg was so accommodating and attentive. The neighbors were also so nice and we couldn't have asked for a better place or trip! We will definitely be coming back and we highly recommend this place for a couple or a set of friends looking for a getaway in the heart of the crescent city!

    Memrie2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super spot for 2-4 people. Great feel to the place, nice hood and great value for money. Would totally recommend

    Justine2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Greg’s home is 10 Stars!! It’s extremely comfortable and relaxing. I would for sure recommend his listing to anyone looking for a home away from home!!

    Darius2018-02-10T00:00:00Z

Our newly renovated apartment is right in the middle of town, within walking distance of Magazine St. and just on the edge of the Garden District. Plus, it's just 3 blocks from the streetcar and St. Charles Ave.
Please be our guest in the newly renovated apartment situated at the back of our really old (1850s), charmingly-dilapidated house. It’s just a couple blocks from the parade route/street car/St. Charles, and only about a mile from the Superdome. They don’t call it Central City for nothing! Walk past the main house, down a winding brick pathway, and up the stairs to the private entrance. You enter into the kitchen, with concrete countertops, old wood floors, and plenty of sunlight pouring through the original wood windows with old bubbly glass. Fix yourself a drink and head up the spiral stairs to the bedroom. Just around the iron handrail is a full size bed, and plenty of reading material about the places you’ll want to see and the food you’ll want to eat while you’re here. Then venture out the bedroom door onto the balcony. Did I mention you’re on the third floor now? The view is excellent, the palm trees sway in the wind, and you can hear the marching bands as they pass down the parade route. I almost forgot the bathroom. Honestly, it’s not huge. But it’s everything you need, plus a claw foot tub. And cozy towels, and bubble bath, and . . . well, it’s a bathroom. And just in case you’re wondering, it also has a flat-screen tv, cable, internet, a microwave, a coffee maker, all the things you need in a kitchen, and probably some welcoming Abita beers in the fridge.
Central City is the Best! We're right in the middle of everything. . . and I don't mean right in the middle of the French Quarter, I mean in the middle of a less touristy, little bit quieter New Orleans. We're just on the edge of the Garden District, a short walk from Magazine St, and just 3 blocks form the streetcar line. Plus, we're only one block from the super hip, up and coming Oretha Castle Haley Blvd where you'll find the best coffee, the indiest movies, a few restaurants, the new Food and Beverage Museum, and a tatoo parlor in case you're in the market. So come check out my neighborhood, you'll love it like I do!
  • I had a wonderful stay here! Jackson helped me get orientated with maps and getting around. The street cars were very convenient and easy to use. It is a good location for exploring the garden district, shopping on Magazine Street, or heading to the French Quarter.

  • Just arrived back from our three night stay - we're so glad we booked there! It was the perfect location for exploring the entire city and they were incredible helpful with all sorts of advice. The place was lovely and very clean with all mod cons. The beer in the fridge and cake was also a big bonus. Such a great find!!

    Gemma2013-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • We picked a great place to stay! My wife and I planned a Thanksgiving getaway to New Orleans, and we decided to stay at Jackson's. For starters, the BnB itself is great. The spiral staircase leading up to the loft bedroom is very clever, and the living area is great for a couple. There's plenty of street parking right outside, and the streetcar is just down the street. We will be staying here again next time we visit New Orleans.

    Pavle and Jennifer2013-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful! We loved staying at Jackson's. Great position, not too close to the city. A little slice of paradise. We would definitely stay here again, it really made our New Orleans experience.

    Sarah2014-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jackson's place was a perfect getaway spot! This unit has a lot of character and makes for a special visit, outside your ordinary hotel or spare bedroom. It feels very secluded, and the porch outside the bedroom provides a great way to finish a night with a glass of wine. The Garden District has plenty of things to walk around to and see, and Jackson is willing to give you all sorts of helpful tips about where to go. The area is safe, and parking is easy, with quick access to the streetcar to get downtown. I really recommend staying here, as you'll get the chance to see more than just the French Quarter, and enjoy a lot more of New Orleans!

    Harrison2014-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jackson's apartment was perfect for our stay in New Orleans. It was clean, quiet, and just the right size for my fiancée and I. She was very flexible with our check-in and was there to meet us and walk us up the back steps of their beautiful classic New Orleans home. We would love to stay here the next time we're in town.

    Jean-Raymond2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very first airbnb experience and it was great. The apartment is at the back of a big old house that Jackson and her partner are in the process of renovating, and the photos here really do reflect the look and feel of the space. I love their taste! So comfy to come back to at the end of the day, make a big fresh salad, and retreat to the upstairs balcony at dusk (yes, there are huge palm trees there and yes, they do swish in the breeze). Check in and check out was easy and I only met Jackson once…she was very nice and welcoming. Other buildings in the neighborhood are in various stages of repair, but it feels safe and is only a few blocks from St. Charles…can get anywhere in town from there. Only minor glitch for me was inability to access the Internet upstairs (worked fine downstairs) (my guess it’s not an issue of the apartment, but maybe some larger infrastructure problems). And of course there are chickens, yeah chickens!

    Dayna2014-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a fabulous time staying in Jackson's sunny loft. We were welcomed with delicious NOLA beers. Jackson was very attentive and gave us plenty of great recommendations. She let us drop our bags off early which was a big help! The apartment was located in between Uptown and the French Quarter and it was close to public transit. We hope to come back for another jaunt soon!

You will read lots of extremely positive reviews about this property. They are all true! Just returned from 5 days at Robert's place. The location is great, an easy 15 minute walk to the French Quarter or a close bus ride, the place is as good as the pictures, and Ernie, your personal butler/caretaker, is a gem. If you want a non-hotel experience in New Orleans, this is the place. We'll go back.
