Just booked in Edgartown

Ever see that TV show "Tiny House"? Now you can stay at the famous Harborside Inn in the tiniest (coziest?) room of this historic complex on Edgartown waterfront. Built in the 1700's, this tastefully-finished private unit comes with double bed, cable TV, wi-fi, private bath, mini-fridge and a side view of Edgartown harbor. Looking to unwind? Head out to our grounds, grab a chaise lounge and do some great people-watching poolside while you ponder your next yacht. Limited prices Max 2 persons
The Harborside Inn is Edgartown's premiere waterfront resort. This "Tiny House" unit (it's actually a picture-perfect tiny condo unit - not really a "house"). It offers the convenience of a full-service hotel set in the charm of historic Edgartown Village on Martha's Vineyard. Located just steps from Main Street, you’ll enjoy the easy access to the shops, restaurants and the scenic beauty of the Village and beaches. Begin each day waking to the sounds of the harbor just outside your window. Don't dawdle - it's a new day waiting for you out there! Besides a clean and cozy room and bath our guests have the lovely grounds of the Harborside Inn to enjoy. And the front desk can answer your questions or point out a local landmark for you. Care for a dip in our waterside pool? Perhaps just take a moment to sit and relax, or catch up on your reading in one of the "old Captain's chairs". You might be adventuresome and take a short walk (less than 0.2 miles) over to the Chappaquiddick Ferry (check out the live (Email hidden by Airbnb) and don't miss the GREAT short (Email hidden by Airbnb) This tiny ferry even fits a handful of cars on the short run to the island, and you can do further exploration once you arrive. Your walk to the ferry just happens to go by the Bike Rental shop. Why not rent a bike and explore the island? Limited special pricing. Come stay directly on Edgartown harbor. Enjoy this unique and "cozy" room in a historic sea captain's house as part of the Harborside Inn complex on the island of Martha's Vineyard.
  • The pictures and descriptions do not do this rental justice. The space is more than adequate and the location can't be beat. Will be booking again next time I'm in the Vineyard.

  • Great location and very kind and welcoming staff. It was my mistake that I read the description of the location of the room wrong, but we are " just go with it" kind of people and had a wonderful time.

    Kelly2017-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • The location could not be better and if you aren’t planning to spend a lot of time in your room, this place is great. But it is not a tiny house, just a tiny room - and I mean TINY. Double bed, low ceilings. But great value comparatively given its location.

    S2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and comfortable

  • Very clean and friendly staff, beautiful location

  • The room is true to its description, but that does not ruin or detract from the experience in any way. The bed was amazing and we had a great sleep. Since it is part of the Harborside Inn the room was cleaned daily and the front desk was able to help us with any of our questions. And of course one of the best features is that the inn is in the heart of town so you do not have to walk far for anything. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time.

    Troy2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely great place to stay when in Edgartown, right in the center of everything. The "tiny" room was big enough to be comfortable, and in a perfect location. We would happily stay here again.

    Jen2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Really great location and value for the Vineyard. Plenty to do close by and no need to bring a car for your stay. The space itself is larger than advertised and checking in is seamless (feels just like a hotel). Would recommend to anyone.

  • Nancy's place had everything we needed and was in a great location. We loved our stay and hope to return in the near future!

    Michelle2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy's house is the perfect location...just a short walk to town. We rented bikes and found Edgartown to be very bike friendly. In my opinion Edgartown is the nicest village on the island with great shops and restaurants. The cottage was bright and very clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay there again. Martha's Vineyard is delightful.

    Christina2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy is absolutely the best host! The accommodations are fantastic -- private, meticulously clean, comfortable, and spacious. Our weekend getaway truly felt like a dream. We awoke to freshly made breakfast donuts and muffins in the morning, and dined on them on the private table and chairs with the birds chirping around us. Nancy provided great insight regarding the beaches, restaurants, and tourist spots on the island. She even provided beach chairs and an umbrella for us! Nancy truly made our weekend special and cannot thank her enough for her kind and gracious hospitality.

    Courtney2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best AirB&B that we ever stayed in. The location was perfect for exploring Edgartown and right off of the bike path. The unit was clean and spacious. Nancy provided plush towels, comfortable linens, hairdryer, and fancy soaps. It was like being at a spa. The homemade donuts and scones were a real treat. It was nice to relax on the couch and watch TV after a day out. The garden patio and Nancy's hospitality contributed to that home away from home feel. A true gem.

    Dierdre2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, clean and elegant. Nancy was incrediblely hospitable and her location was perfect as it was a close walk into town but just far enough to be away from the crowds. Can’t wait to come back!

    Justin2017-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy has a very peaceful and quiet house that is also close to all of the action in the downtown area.

    Jeff2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Just as described, an easy +/-15 minute walk from downtown Edgartown, very convenient, quiet location - excellent value for the nicest town on MV. Nancy was very communicative and hospitable, as available as needed, or not - check-in was very easy and flexible. Clearly a lot of thought has been put into her place - so many amenities, anticipating every need and/or forgotten item her guests may have. We appreciated the coffee, tea, granola bars - reading other reviews, clearly we missed the boat declining Nancy's kind offer of muffins in the morning! Space was clean, with washer & dryer available, plentiful towels, super soft bed linens, only constructive feedback was mattress a little soft for our preference. Would not hesitate to book again - really happy with our experience.

  • Booked last minute with Sharon and she had everything all ready to go and even gave me an off season discount. Place was cozy and comfortable. Cooked a small meal and the kitchen was fully equipped. The house is close to central oak bluff and bus stop. Would love to return in the summer!

    Amy2015-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming accommodations and situated in an ideal location for anyone planning to see the island without a car. Sharon is the perfect host and provides great information on local attractions and restaurants. I would highly recommend!

    John2013-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had only one night to spend at Martha's vineyard, which wasn't near enough but we still wanted to visit there. Sharon accommodated our very short visit and we greatly appreciated that. That house is "the real deal", an authentic little cottage and it was in a great location. It was perfect for our quick visit.

    Marge2015-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so beautiful and so convient to everything in oak bluffs. I loved how beautiful the space was and the hot tub was such a nice bonus! Jenn and Sharon have great information about what to do on the island. So glad I stayed.

    Kim2017-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great time at Sharon's place! My wife and I contacted Sharon day of to stay in her house. When we got there it was ready to go, super clean, anything you could want during your stay was available to us. Sharon was really cool, invited us down to her NYE party, offered to give us some of her groceries, had some champagne waiting for us upstairs, showed us local run routes, etc. Definitely a great place to stay with good company, right down town, we didn't even bring our car with us.

    Andrew2014-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Best location on the island if you're looking for a fun vacation, close to shops and restaurants. Place had everything you'd need and Sharon was more than accommodating. She gave us great advice about where to go and what to see on the island. She even had a bottle of wine for us when we got there to celebrate our honeymoon. Definitely stay here again! Place was clean and perfect for two people, could easily fit four. Park and the beach are less than a 5 minute walk, we didn't really end up needing our bikes much after all!!

    Alicia2014-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon was an excellent host. She provided loads of communication that was helpful for the stay. The place is super cute and comfortable as central to everything you'd want to do in Oak Bluffs. I would highly recommend! Also had a chance to peek in on the larger apartment downstairs and that looks super nice and comfortable too!

    Jeff2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment in a fantastic location! The place is cozy and adorable, and is just seconds from all there is to see and do in Oak Bluffs. Sharon was a wonderful host. She provided tons of advice and suggestions on what to see and do on Martha's Vineyard and we took full advantage! She was very responsive to all text messages and the wine and chocolates were a lovely touch. Overall just a fantastic experience

  • The cottage was the perfect place for a weekend getaway. It was clean, tidy and just the right location to go into town or the beach. Highly recommend this place!

  • We were lucky to find and be able to stay at Linda's place! The cottage was clean, bright and comfortable. We were able to park and bring our car, which was great for exploring the island. The cottage is right in the middle of town and south beach, which we loved. Thank you for the snacks as well. We highly recommend Linda's cottage!

  • Charming home, private, bright comfortable space

    Ann Noelle2017-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Linda's beautiful cottage. We walked in to fresh flowers and homemade muffins (yum!), and the home has everything you'd need. The cottage has privacy from all neighbors and was a great place to hang out between excursions on the island. Linda is wonderful and gave us great tips about the Vineyard. The cottage is also only a mile and a half from South Beach!

    Nina2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Linda definitely made us feel welcome and even went out of her way to buy organic eggs for us because she knew we had a preference for organic food. The lovely little cottage was just as described. In fact, it looked better in person than in the photos. It was a private little haven for us during our stay on MV. The neighborhood was relatively quiet and a nice jumping off location for everything to see on the island. We would happily recommend this accommodation to others.

    Nancy2016-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect spot for us. Very cozy and quietly tucked away from the bustle of both town life and beach yet so convenient to both. Linda is very responsive to questions, generous with delicious goodies in the fridge and the place was perfectly clean and had a well stocked kitchen. We would definitely come back!

Peace and nature abound. Enjoy our secluded and shady spot near the lagoon, only one mile from downtown Vineyard Haven. Easy drive in--drive out-your own driveway/parking space. Separate apartment in a peaceful neighborhood. Enjoy a relaxing holiday in our humble no-frills home. Dog friendly -meet our goats. Easy access to the whole island. Breathe deeply and recharge. Note: We rent to all! Welcome all races, religions, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities. All are welcome here!
Centrally located and out of the hustle bustle, down a peaceful tree-lined lane is this lovely ground level apartment. Adjacent to the Lagoon trail and a 15 minute walk to Main St. in Vineyard Haven village. Near to the bike path and a short walk to the lagoon. The apartment has its own driveway and private parking. Buses to anywhere are available just up the lane to a main thoroughfare. The space is below a year round house with a separate entrance and separate driveway only for your use. It is completely private. Full kitchen and bath as well as a separate bedroom and a pull out couch. The apartment is open concept, though the bedroom can be closed off with a curtain. The bedroom has a beautiful queen sized bed with a new Nest mattress. The pull out queen sized couch bed in the living room adds flexibility. The apartment is cozy and comfortable and works best for a couple with children or one guest, not ideal for two couples, due to little privacy. We have air conditioning, newly installed. And a new huge water heater, for any length of shower. Gym, pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room is located in Mansion House, 1 mile away. Visit the local wildlife refuges, take a hike on a land bank property or prowl the shopping districts in the three down island towns of Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. Take a trip up island or jump on the ferry to Chappaquiddick. We are a short drive or bike ride to Eastville or Owen Park beaches. Any of the Oak Bluffs or Edgartown beaches can be reached by bus as well. I can advise you of a few other places to check out. The Vineyard is known as a high end retreat for the rich and famous. Our Easy Vineyard retreat is the down to earth reasonable version and an affordable way to visit our diverse and welcoming island. The space is especially good for writers and artists who need a hideaway to get some work done. We have internet, a desk available and a great selection of reading material. We have a new heating and cooling system installed, you will be cozy on the cool days and can stay cool during the hottest days of summer. During the summer there is an outdoor shower for rinsing off after the beach. If you are bringing your car across on the ferry, you will need to make a reservation--off season is more reasonable than during the summer. If you are not a dog owner, don't worry the apartment is fully cleaned with a Hepa filter after each guest. If you long to play with dogs, my dogs will happily help you out. We have two pygmy goats, who roam in a fenced in section of our half acre property. They love admirers. Come visit our oasis for a week or a month and make yourself at home. The apartment is a simple, no frills studio apartment. It is not a "high-end" property, and it is not a hotel, it is our humble home. Please keep this in mind when you book. We appreciate your kind consideration.
The lagoon area is a great mix of year-round and seasonal residents. If you like the woods and lagoon you could spend your whole time just wandering our area and the nearby roads and lanes. In just a twenty minute walk you will come to the lovely and interesting Main Street of Vineyard Haven where good food and shopping can be enjoyed. The land bank Ramble Trail is right across the road from your driveway where you can enjoy a short wooded walk to the Lagoon. If you have a kayak (and are nimble enough to negotiate a steep trek down some nicely embedded steps or want to drive to the closest access point just down the road) you can boat on the quiet and peaceful Lagoon.
  • Sara is great—she wants the best for her guests. The location is close to everything. And the bed is SO comfy you may never want to get out of it!

    Beth2018-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Sara's apartment. It was well represented in the description. We loved the dogs and the goats. Sara is an exceptional host, a warm and genuine person. It was a pleasure to be able to stay in her home.

    Ann2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved Sara's place. Highlights: * very cool rustic and well-crafted woodworking made this place extra great * terra cotta tile floor (can you tell i'm a designer?) * smelled really nice! Not everyone is smell oriented but there was a nice calming smell... some kind of herbal soap maybe? Not overpowering, just faint. * the goats were really cute and tiny * surrounded by trees and nice and secluded! I'd definitely stay here again. I loved it - very charming, and a great spot in winter -- warm and cozy!

    Jeffrey2018-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Sara’s house was exactly what we needed for an off-season weekend away from the city. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. Sara was quick to respond to messages and to help when we inadvertently locked ourselves out but also gave us plenty of privacy. The adorable pets were an added bonus! We’ll definitely be back!

    Anna2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • My puppy Archie and I had a wonderful stay at Sara's place. It is ideal for dog owners. We walked for hours in the lovely woods around the property, Archie swam in the lagoon, and then come back to the very comfortable studio and relaxed. It is fully stocked with everything you could need, the bed is super cozy, and the best part is, there's very little in the way of trouble a puppy can get into there. For us, it was perfect. And Martha's Vineyard, even in late November, is delightful. Sara isn't kidding about it having one of the best dog parks anywhere! Sara -- thank you for your hospitality, and Archie sends his big slobbery best regards to Opal and Owen!

    Jennifer2013-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sara was a great host! Had so much fun at her lovely home. It was quiet, peaceful, and very convenient (1 mile to town). Sara was knowledgeable about the area and gave us some great pointers on where to go and what to do. Would definitely recommend this place and stay here again (love the dogs)!

    Jason2014-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sara was an extremely gracious host, and worked hard to make sure all of our needs were met. She was very responsive with communications to make sure everything went smoothly. She made herself available when needed for suggestions or travel tips on the island, but also gave us our privacy. Her space is nestled in a beautiful wooded area, easily accessible to downtown Vineyard Haven. We enjoyed walking the shaded path through the woods to the lagoon. There's also a great public dock to sit and watch the boats from, or launch a kayak off of. Sara's dogs were very friendly, and quick to greet us when we returned back to the house. This was a nice rustic retreat for me and my family, and will be one of our more memorable trips to the Vineyard.

    Jason2014-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at Sara's place and within a few minutes the back window of our car shattered due to a mishap with our bikes that were mounted on the back. That was our mistake, but it was a temporary set-back. Sara was very accommodating and helped by cleaning up the glass in the driveway and by offering us some solutions. That was very helpful. All of this did not hinder or hamper our plans to see the island and have a terrific place to return to. Sara's place is comfortable, accessible, clean, and convenient to hiking, biking, and sightseeing. We felt very fortunate to have made this choice. Our host, Sara is a pleasure and very helpful with advice, suggestions, and recommendations. We really liked not having a TV. There is so much to do and experience on the island that we do plan to return as soon as we can.

  • The house was exactly as described. It is a second home in a quiet area. We walked into Edgartown and biked on the trails. We had a car, so getting to the beach and exploring the island was easy from this base. The kitchen was well furnished and we had many meals in the open and inviting dining room. The weather was hot and humid the week we were there. The new air-conditioning made our returns to the house a welcome retreat! The house worked out well for us. The upstairs has a bedroom, bathroom and separate sitting area which my husband and I used. The main floor has two bedrooms, a bathroom, large living and dining area where our daughter, son-in-law and grandson stayed. It worked out great! Everyone had a space to retreat to when wanting to read a book or play a game. Michael was great in answering any questions and quickly replying to text. The trip could not have gone any smoother. We would love to stay there again!

    Mary2016-08-21T00:00:00Z

  • The place is awesome, one of my best AirBnB stays. The house is very spacious, light and clean. Great patio with garden furniture and grill. Feels like you are in the middle of a forest. Short distance from the center of Edgartown, which I think is the greatest of all MV's towns. Michael is a great host, very attentive and quick with responding.

  • lovely home - well kept - up to date with appliances - we cooked almost everyday - so i enjoyed the lay out of the kitchen and had lots of pots and pans and anything else i needed - quite and peaceful neighbor - easy access to town and south beach - Michael was easy and quick to communicate with any questions i had - would definitely recommend staying here

  • We had a wonderful experience staying at Michael's lovely home. He was easy to communicate with and very responsive. From the moment we set foot into his home, it's clear he spent a lot of time caring for the house. We had a wonderful time relaxing at home as well as checking out all that MV has to offer. We are looking forward to going back soon.

  • Everything was great. Theda was there when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. Location great in the middle between vineyard haven and oak bluffs

    Darlene2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Theda was a great host. She welcomed us to her home, and checked in frequently to ensure everything was fine. We had the house to ourselves and found our stay very relaxing. The home is close to everywhere - a 20 minute walk, 5 minute drive to Oak Bluffs center. The bike path starts at the end of the street, a 2 minute walk. Another 5 minute walk brings you to a bench overlooking a harbor and a place to swim.

    Gail2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Theda was a very attentive, yet unobtrusive host. She shared helpful information about the area. She provided everything we needed to enjoy our time in Oak Bluffs, including beach towels, beach chairs, bicycles and maps of the area. She was friendly, helpful and pleasant. The rooms were immaculate, comfortable and private. If ever find myself in the area, I would definitely stay here again!

    Marianne2015-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very central and walkable to Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs! Theda was really helpful and a great communicator!

  • Only comment is type address in gps, if you use airbnb location it's wrong. Everything was great beds comfortable and clean. Theda was friendly and helpful.

    Juanita2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Theda is a warm, colorful and welcoming person, and we are very glad to have met her.

    Ketil2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Theda's place. It is centrally located in MV and easy access to both the bike and bus routes. Me and my 3 kids rode the bus and visited Aquinan, memnemshah(great sunset and seafood), jumping bridge, south beach (waves are not for the light hearted) and flying horses. We had a great time and loved our accommodations and host. Theda provided us with plenty of insider tips and old fashioned hospitality. Morning tea/ coffee and extra toiletries were well appreciated. It was a treat!! PS We ended our trip at chillmark chocolates. Yum!!

An adorable and comfortable Cottage within walking distance to the shops and restaurants of lovely Vineyard Haven and close to the beach and ferry. Two beds and a Kitchenette make this freestanding cottage your perfect getaway. Located in a quiet neighborhood. A charming place to relax and enjoy the Vineyard.
This is a cozy and comfortable "Thoreau-like" cottage. This guesthouse is located on our property behind our main house where we reside during the summer months. The space is simple and charming, yet has everything one needs for a relaxing chilled out stay on the Vineyard. The first floor is a combination living and sleeping area with a full size bed , a daybed, television, refrigerator, and ample closet space. The upstairs has a kitchenette with microwave and a single burner portable induction cooktop. (You will have to partake of the Vineyard's many fine Bakeries as there is no oven). There is a television with cable TV and DVD player. Wireless internet keeps you in touch as well. The bed is Queen size with a new high quality mattress. A ceiling fan, air conditioner, and heater keep the space comfortable. The bathroom is minimalist: just a toilet and not super private just a curtain . The shower is classic beachhouse; Outdoors. It is enclosed and attached to the rear of the main house close by. The shower is shared by the other guest unit. A new gas grill is provided for your (shared) use as well. The firepit is a wonderful way to enjoy the evenings *. An outdoor seating and dining area are also yours to enjoy. The cottage may be small on space but we feel it makes up for it in amenities and charm. So again to review the 3 quirks so there are no surprises BE ADVISED : (1) . The upstairs and downstairs of the cottage are not connected internally . You have to go outside to go up or downstairs as you can see from the main photo.(2) The toilet is not very private, merely a curtain between you and your family , unless you kick them downstairs.(3) The shower is of the outdoor variety but fully enclosed (no roof) and semi-private with room and a bench for changing. The shower enclosure is attached to the back of the main house just across the patio. Otherwise, we think it is a lovely little cottage and you will totally enjoy your relaxing Vineyard getaway!
This is a super chilled out neighborhood of seasonal and year round residents with lots of vacationers mixed in as well. The convenience of being able to walk to the vibrant Main St district of Vineyard Haven, the beach and the ferry is a huge plus.
  • Don and Jeanine were such great hosts! The space was just right after a long day of traveling, and the "disconnected" upstairs/downstairs room worked out great since mom and the baby could sleep downstairs while I went upstairs after picking up the car on a late ferry. Both rooms are smaller than average, so it probably wouldn't be the best fit for a long-term stay, but if you're doing a night or two on MV, it's a perfect fit.

    Tom2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Don and Janine were great. They couldn't of been nicer or greater hosts. They really went out of their way and the cozy cottage was perfect. Highly recommended. Thank you don and Janine!

    Lori2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful and welcoming campus. Don and Jeanine are really warm and welcoming people. Sharing their beautiful home and garden was such a wonderful treat for us!

    Gloria2016-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • I had such a great experience staying in the cottage, it met every need I had. Couldn't have had more amazing host. They weren't too hands on but we're around when needed, like helping me and my girlfriend start a fire and providing the campfire treats to make smores. Jeanine's knowledge of the island and it's sites and restaurants really helped shape our experience. I even had a couple visitors that loved the place and would stay in a heart beat. Overall I could go on and on about how great my vacation was because of this location and great hosting, I miss the spot already.

    Brian2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect spot for our summer get-away. I would definitely recommend it and my wife and I would come back again. Don and Jeanine are extreme friendly and accommodating. When we showed up there was a bottle of wine for us in the fridge and fresh cut flowers from the garden in the rooms. It was nice to have the owners right next door in case we needed anything, though since the house was separate we still had privacy. The guest house is simple and small but clean and neat and has everything you need such as cups and plates and even beach chairs and towels. With all the great outdoor space we didn't feel cramped at all. The town of Tisbury/Vineyard Haven where the house is located was one of our favorite parts of the island because it has a few stores and restaurants but is a lot less crowded and more laid back than Oak Bluffs or Edgartown. You can walk about a mile into town which is on the harbor, though we usually drove and didn't have too much trouble finding parking even at the peak of the season. This is a great vacation spot, we highly recommend it.

    Ben2016-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very secluded and private and probably the most affordable place to stay on the island. About a 20 minute walk to shops/restaurants/Vineyard Haven bus station. Such nice people, couldn't really ask for much better.

    Charles2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great Hosts and great spot for the price. Very easy communicating with the hosts and everything was just as described in the post.

    Christopher 2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • The property was convenient and perfect for our family. Don and Jeannie were fantastic hosts that were available to answer any questions or concerns.

  • Jan's place is beautiful. I loved the white furniture, the space and the amenities. We had a great stay.

    Fiona2017-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jan was a super host. Communication was top notch. His home is clean, comfy and as represented in the photos. The location is a very residential area about 1.5 miles or so from town. There is a bus stop very close but we chose to drive. The Alpaca farm is also very close. The house has many perks: grill, deck with chairs and table, easy parking, coffee pot, laundry and more. If you are a TV watcher; just know there aren't many channels. We don't watch tv, so it was no biggie for us. We will stay with Jan if we travel to MV again without hesitation.

    Teri2016-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • We rented from Jan for a week's worth of work on the island. The house was warm, clean and as advertised. Jan was easy to deal with and although he lives downstairs, we didn't see or hear from him unless we needed something which was appreciated. We cooked in every night so the kitchen was well enough equipped to meet our needs. Also a big plus was that there was plenty of hot water for longish showers after a long day in the field in the February wind!! I'll definitely consider staying here on my return trips.

    Kenneth2016-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Jan's home. The space was beautiful, comfortable, filled with light, and in a quiet secluded neighborhood. It was a very convenient location: it was as easy for us to get out to Gay Head as it was to go to dinner in Vineyard Haven. Jan got in touch several times before our stay and helped make our arrival and our visit very smooth. Would definitely recommend.

    Eleanor2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice home perfect for a relaxing weekend! Jan was very helpful, would definitely recommend it to friends.

  • Yes Jan was available upon arrival & showed us around the house.

    Lakshmi2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great house located in a quiet part of MV. You need a car or bike as there isn't really anything in the immediate vicinity. Jan was a great host and made we had an enjoyable stay.

    Nicklas2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jan was there when we arrived and was helpful and a nice guy. The house is a little ways in from the Edgarton-Vineyard Haven road. There isn't anything to do walking distance from the house but a short drive away is an audobon wildlife preserve and public beaches.

  • We LOVED this place and Chris & Madi and Nae the cat!! We did NOT want to leave and I think we actually tried to get them to adopt us so we could stay. The room is adorable, immaculate, and comfortable, as is the entire house! Everything is so beautifully and perfectly decorated. They were happy to share their lovely house with us, and we spent a good bit of time hanging with them and chatting. They were amazingly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, but never did we feel we couldn't have whatever privacy we wanted. We literally cannot say enough about how perfect this experience was!!!

Gorgeous and spacious 4 BR historic house near town & water. Great open spaces for entertaining. Ten foot ceilings and fabulous hilltop breezes. 3 season porch, new mahogany deck, fenced in yard. Large & beautifully appointed master BR. Beautiful linens & decor. Close to everything - For children, walk to the park, playground or water. For adults, a 3 minute walk down the hill to the lagoon to kayak or windsurf. Or walk downtown to great shops & restaurants, the beach or a great movie!
Gorgeous and spacious (2800 sq. ft.) 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, historic house on hill near town. Great, elegant and open spaces for entertaining, enjoying. Lovely living and dining areas with 10 foot ceilings and fabulous breezes through large windows. Delightful 3 season porch, large deck, fenced in yard for pups. Large and beautifully appointed master bedroom upstairs. Beautiful bedding and furniture throughout. We want to make sure that you understand the layout of the home and the beds, so that you are confident it will work out well for your group. On the second floor there is: a large master bedroom with a king size bed and sitting area, a bedroom with an attached full bath and queen size bed, a bedroom with a bunk bed with a double bed on the bottom and a twin on top, and there is a large size full bath at the end of the hall with a tub/shower combo. On the bottom floor there is a bedroom with a full size bed, an attached full bath, and a separate entrance with small deck directly off of this room. The sectional in the living room has a queen pullout pillow top air mattress (super comfy). There is an additional brand new pullout queen sofa bed in the sunroom, also with a pillow top air mattress! (note: this room does get bright in the morning so best suited for early risers). Both of the sofa beds are a great quality and very comfortable. If you have more than 8 guests please note- The house is certainly large enough to host your group comfortably, as we've had many large families stay- quite a few returning year-after-year. In fact, it's wonderful for entertaining, and hanging out together in large groups. We simply want to make sure you fully understand the sleeping quarters, so that you can decide, prior to booking, whether or not this house is a perfect fit for your group. The home is situated high on a hilltop and is close proximity to everything- town, shops & restaurants, playground, sports fields, beaches. A three minute walk down the hill to the Lagoon and boat rentals where you can rent kayaks and learn to windsurf. Only 1 mile to Owen Little Park Beach, and 1 1/2 miles to Eastville Beach. A true pleasure. There is a wonderfully renovated of the garage/studio on the property for the use of all our guests. It is open to both houses. Please enjoy it! Feel free to open the garage doors and the French doors wide, and use it for extra space to work out, dance, do yoga, or just relax on the couch. If you use it, please just remember two things: Please close the doors before bed OR anytime if it rains. The studio has a powerful dehumidification system to keep it all fresh and dry, so if you do open the doors or windows, please just hit the little OFF button on the small black remote control sitting on the dresser. Just point it toward the two vents on the wall by the garage doors and hit OFF. And then please turn it back ON again when doors and windows are shut. We don't want to dehumidify the whole island, but it's important for the dehumidifier to be ON when the garage is not being used. For children, walk to the park and play ball, swing or fly a kite. For the adults, walk to the lagoon and kayak, or walk downtown to great shops and restaurants, the beach or catch a movie. There is an additional vacation rental on the property. It is a small and newly renovated 1.5 bedroom cottage. Tastefully decorated, well equipped kitchen, concrete counter tops, washer and dryer. 1 single bed, 1 double bed, and 1 queen sleep sofa. (Sleeps 5). For additional information and photos please contact Sharon or you may find it on Airbnb by searching for property numb(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN).
This beautiful hilltop house is on a lovely residential street a short walk to town (Main Street in Vineyard Haven). You can walk either through a park and playground or along the lagoon to go into town, to restaurants or shops, or to the ferry. To get to beaches from this house you can walk down the hill to the lagoon, where you can rent kayaks and paddle out. Or you can walk into town which is about 10 minutes through the park, and walk another 5 minutes to Owen Little Park which has a small beach, or about 5-10 more minutes to the public beach next to the yacht club. There is also a more secluded beach a short drive away where Lake Tashmoo meets the ocean. It one of my favorites, down a beautiful dirt road with water on both sides. The lake side of the beach is dreamy peaceful and perfect for young children, and the ocean side is a perfect, small classic beach. Martha's Vineyard is a beautiful island off of Cape Cod, in Massachusetts. Vineyard Haven is the primary port, with historic homes, lovely beaches, fabulous shopping and delicious restaurants. Our house is just outside the center of Vineyard Haven and the ferry.
  • Sharon was a great host! We had a great time! The home was very clean and neat and well laid out. The yard was beautiful; flowers and gardens. We had everything that we needed and she made us feel very welcome. The location was great. Sharon made sure that we had great instructions for the visit (e.g. booking the ferry in advance, we were new to that). We are looking forward to visiting again and rebooking Sharon's home.

    Gregg2016-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon did an excellent job of providing information about the location, the house, the amenities, nearby attractions, etc. She provided fresh towels and linens and the house was arranged very nicely. It's an older home with a lot of character that is very well kept and nicely appointed. The master bedroom is very large and has a separate seating area for reading or relaxing. The other bedrooms have plenty of space and are also nicely decorated. We are runners and ran right from the house to biking/running trails. If you're interested in water sport there are rental places within walking distance of the house (10-15 min). Overall a nice place.

    James2015-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy home which is well stocked/supplied. Quiet location. Would definitely return.

    Walter2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • This house is amazing! It was so clean and looked just like the photos. It was close to Vineyard Haven but secluded enough to feel like home. We spent a lot of time cooking, sitting around a fire, relaxing, etc. When we went out it was a quick drive anywhere we wanted to go!

  • My family takes a week in Marthas Vineyard every year and this was the most enjoyable renting experience to date. Sharon is super helpful and thoughtful in offering suggestions for your stay, if you need beach gear she has you covered, and her home is clean, comfortable, and great for family vacations. Highly recommend renting from Sharon, she is responsive, friendly, and her home is great.

    James2015-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect! Sharon and Jenn always responded quickly to every query we had. We wanted for nothing and had lots of room to spread out and get comfy. We didn’t use the kitchen but it was well-appointed with good quality pots and pans (unlike some rental homes). Our dog LOVED the yards and ran to her heart’s content. There is also a park nearby that she enjoyed. We can’t wait to return!

    Nevart2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful home was absolutely perfect!!! The Sharon and Jennifer were fantastic hosts! The neighborhood was gorgeous, the home had absolutely everything one could need and more! It was immaculate clean, the beds were comfortable, rooms were spacious, the porch and barbq pit were such a bonus. I cannot say enough fantastic things about this home. Not one single negative!!! Studio apartment in the upstairs of our barn. Nice big open space. There is a kitchenette, a double bed and a futon couch. There is Air Conditioning for chilling out after a day of sightseeing or beach going.

  • Corinna really made us feel welcome in her little barn! She was very responsive and even helped us find a great places to eat as well as many other island recommendations. The barn is such a cozy and relaxing space. Very clean with everything you might need for your stay to feel comfortable. We slept very well and it was great having the bikes to use to get around. For the location, value, and hospitality you can do no better on the the island!

    Joel2015-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Corinna was excellent in communicating with me prior to and once I arrived. The apartment is in a convenient location, is very cozy, clean and welcoming. I had complete privacy and everything I needed for my stay. Thanks Corinna!

    Cindy2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I got married the night before and chose to stay at Corinna's barn for a night. On our "mini" honeymoon, this was the perfect place to stay because of the privacy. We have done Airbnb a few times where we actually stayed in houses with the families but this barn provided a great sense of privacy which is what we were looking for (when we were actually in the room). Corinna's husband and son were very inviting when we pulled up and Corinna was very inviting through her messages to us and was quick to respond to questions. On the day of checkout, she let us keep our bags in the downstairs of the barn while we made a trip to Gay Head and explored the island more. This apartment is very clean, cute, and has everything you could need. It is a short walk away from Oak Bluffs. We will definitely be keeping this location on our list of places to stay in the future! Thank you Corinna!

  • My family and I stayed for three nights in this charming studio. We are two adults and a 13 year old boy. The barn/ studio is both rustic and beautiful. Decor taseful. The neighborhood super quiet and an easy bike ride or walk to OB. We liked the lay out of the apartment and the fact that our host had bikes for us to use. Corinna is gracious, and responsive. We would stay here again!

  • My friend Mary and I spend Columbus Day weekend at Carinna's wonderful new barn and with the studio room above. Carinna's was away hiking in New Hampshire but her wonderful husband and son Walker took care of us for the weekend my friend and I would certainly return we had a great time it was close to the town so we could walk in for breakfast or for dinner.

She has been a fixture at the Cottage since I began hosting 9 years ago but does love to try to find food and chocolate if we are not careful. She has been sickened seriously a couple of time and I want all of us to enjoy your stay! Thanks for helping me out. She was joined in this past summer by two little rescue girls from Tennessee, Cleo and Tullia. They are small and well-trained. GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Cottage is a charming Cape Cod-style home on Martha's Vineyard and has one bedroom (queen-sized bed) available for single or double occupancy for minimum 2-night stay. The quiet neighborhood and completely private beautiful cottage garden offer a chance to relax in the hammock after a day of sight-seeing and the large deck is perfect for a glass of wine before going off to dinner or just hanging out, whether for breakfast or during the day and evening. It is minutes away from Sengenkontacket Pond where you can launch your kayaks! It is a 15 minute bike ride to State Beach and Oak Bluffs, Edgartown, Vineyard Haven and the State Forest are easily reachable along the beautiful bike path between my house and the towns, The main bus line runs right past my street! By late June, the gardens are up and blooming! The garden is designed as a haven for a variety of birds (including hummingbirds!) butterflies (and bees) which you can enjoy watching from the deck or hammock. Each year, new additions are made to enhance its tranquillity and beauty. Visiting with guests is always a treat as interesting conversation spontaneously arises! • "Once again, Nancy delivers! Her hospitality, breakfasts and outdoor shower are so top rate that our visits have now become an annual tradition. We're looking forward to the fourth visit." - Selena & Kevin

  • My girlfriend and I stayed with Nan over a weekend. I have to say, Nan was an absolute pleasure to stay with. A very kind and helpful host, she was always engaging and a joy to chat with. Love the beautiful little cottage and the outdoor shower is top notch, just give it a try. Nan's house is not hard to reach via the bus system or a 35 min bike ride from OB or Edgartown. Great fresh breakfast at 8:30 daily including banana bread, fresh fruit, and eggs. I will definitely be staying with her again. I will make friends with the little one next time Nancy!

    Matthew2014-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • -Nancy was a gracious hostess and we enjoyed our stay with her. Her home is lovely and the garden is particularly nice. It is not far from Edgartown, but rural and beautiful. It is more of a womanly place than an outdoorsey place, as in "Please take off your shoes indoors and keep things tidy" and not "Relax and some sand is OK because you're on vacation". -The breakfasts were particularly noteworthy and very good.

    Gail2012-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • It was a fun few days on the Island at Nancy's place. She has a tastefully decorated place a few minutes walk to the bus stop. We stayed in the ground floor bedroom with private bathroom. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor shower in July. We have termed it the rainbow shower as you can see a nice rainbow on the deck on sunny days formed by the mist from the shower. :) Definitely a place worth checking out.

    Sunanda2013-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I went for a short weekend stay on the vineyard and stayed with Nancy--we had a great experience! Nancy's house is beautiful and has a wonderful outdoor shower. She made us a delicious breakfast in the morning before we headed out for our day at the beach. She is very friendly and inviting and her dog Alice is a total sweetheart. The location isn't right in one of the towns, but is only a short bike ride from Edgartown and we rode the easy 5 miles between Oak Bluffs and Edgartown to get there. There are also buses that connect everything, so it didn't seem out of the way.

    Emma2012-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Nancy's! We were so warmly welcomed when we arrived exhausted after a long bike trip from Boston. The room was very comfortable and I loved the outdoor shower. Breakfast was lovely. I would absolutely stay again- Next time we will have to stay longer!!

    Genevieve2013-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • See previous review. I stayed in one room at Nancy's cottage for 3 nights and the other room for 1 night. Both rooms were lovely.

    Nicole2014-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy's house the perfect place for us as we are a young, student couple looking to have a comfortable stay for a much more affordable rate than fancy hotels/resorts. The house felt very home-y and she made breakfast for all of us (there was another couple staying upstairs) every morning, which was great both to save money and have great convos with other guests and Nancy as she has lots of interesting stories to share! The two pups, esp Alice, was so sweet and very entertaining to watch as she was very busy in the backyard sniffing, chasing, and doing her own thing. I don't think Nancy emphasizes or advertises her OUTDOOR SHOWER as much as she should. It's equipped with hot water so you can use it at night and gaze up to the stars! A very cool experience. The bus ride (#1) from Vineyard Haven when we got in was only about 15 min and about 10 min to downtown Edgartown, a very easy system to figure out. I'd highly recommend this place for location, atmosphere, and Nancy's hospitality. We had a wonderful experience!

Mid-sized private room with garden vista, only a brief walk to nearby salt-water lagoon beaches and hiking trails. Includes queen bed, bathroom (shared with other Airbnb guests), internet, and closet space. Parking available. We are 2.8 miles from town center. Unfortunately at this time we are unable to host guests with dogs or children under the age of five.
Welcome to beautiful Martha's Vineyard-- vacation destination for legends such as the Kennedys, the Obamas, and even Jake Gyllenhaal. Not only do we have the beaches we're famous for, but we also have enchanting farmers' markets, local artisans, and a state forest with vast networks of bike paths to explore.
  • Chelsea's home was beautiful and as exactly as she described. She sent us a picture of the room the night before we arrived and her Dad was there to greet us. We had a very nice chat with him and met her mother - super nice people. The bedroom was inviting and the bed was so comfortable! The bathroom was so clean and the neighborhood was very safe. This was a great Airbnb experience and I would highly recommend Chelsea and her home. I would most definitely go back!

    Robert2016-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house and grounds, room exactly as advertised. Chelsea was an ideal host, available when needed, informative & helpful.

    Sam2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly central to 3 towns and in a quiet neighborhood. Chelsea did great and her parents were quite helpful and friendly as well.

    Tyler2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Chelsea was a great host and the place is very clean. The house is in a super quiet location and you will wake up with only trees around. Chelsea provided everything we needed. Iber are available throughout the island but having a car is more convenient

    Tommaso2015-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great, enjoyable, restful stay. Chelsea's family was extremely hospitable. Clean room, secluded and comfortable.

    Ozzie2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Your "room" is essentially the entire second floor (room, bathroom, common area). It worked out perfect. At the bottom of your staircase is the front door, so interaction with anyone else is minimal. The vibe on MV enables something like this (Airbnb) to feel very appropriate. Location is great; however, I would try and bring your car onto the island. I paid a small fortune in cab fee's. You most likely wouldn't want to walk to any restaurants from this house. Possibly bicycle. I did not see a bus stop by the house(?). Edgartown is the highlight of the island, so plan accordingly with that in mind when staying here.

    Ryan2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Chelsea and here family were very kind. We were able to do baggage drop off the day of checkout which was very helpful.

    Carolyn2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • For the price, this is certainly a reasonable accommodation for Martha's Vineyard. The room was clean, adequately appointed, and had a convenient bathroom and Keurig/fridge setup just outside the bedroom. The outdoor space was lovely. Chelsea was accommodating for our requests. Perspective guests should be aware that this is a single room which shares a wall with the host and you must pass through the main portion of the home to access. If traveling in the summer, there is no air-conditioning, so it can become a bit hot/humid indoors. We were not at the the house that often other than to sleep therefore it served us well.

Welcome to my home, a 200 year-old former whaling captain's home in the heart of historic Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard (not Nantucket). From here, every amenity - shops, beaches, harbor, restaurants, and night life - is accessible by foot or bicycle. No car needed. ***IMPORTANT***the price listed is for the main double guest room that has one queen-sized bed. There is an additional charge for the second, single room ($75). To book two separate beds you must specify 3 people in your party.
This house is my childhood home, to which I returned to live full time in 2012. I have spent the past four years lovingly restoring this old house - painting and repairing every room with my own hands. The house was built in the early 1800s, about two miles out of town, by Captain Alexander Palmer Weeks. It was moved to its in-town location in the mid 1930s by a team of forty yoke of oxen. Here is the story of the house move: May Snowstorm That Took an Unkind Turn (from a 1948 edition of the Vineyard Gazette) The cold May storm, a proverbial part of the Vineyard spring, took an especially unkind turn about a century ago, on May 26th, the date being recalled because it coincided with moving day for an old house which found a haven on Main Street, Edgartown. The house, then owned by Capt. Alexander Weeks, once stood at Ocean Heights, but yielding to that irresistible urge which seemed to overtake both houses and their owners in the olden days, it was decreed that it should become a town dweller. Propelled by forty yoke of oxen and a large force of men, the house made its slow and stately way over the sandy roads until it reached its present site, on the corner of Green Lane, where it is now the home of Mrs. Herbert M. Boylston. "The usual barrel of New England liquid refreshments as was the custom in those halcyon days," the Gazette recalled wistfully a quarter of a century ago, "flowed freely and when spirits rose to the point that when the new location was reached it was decided to hold a dance then and there. A fiddler was procured, fair ladies recruited, and the evening passed all too swiftly, the home-going guests finding to their surprise that a heavy snow had fallen while they were celebrating and that many of the weary and hungry oxen had dispersed, leading to a chilly chase on the night of the great snow, before the beasts were stabled and their masters housed." (More information about Captain Alexander Palmer Weeks, from my mother's files, includes the facts that he was born on May 18, 1804 and died on August 29 or 30, 1856, lost at sea in a hurricane, and that in 1835 Captain Weeks was skipper of the ship Leader whose home port was New Bedford. I have also learned - from the National Maritime Digital Library - that Leader, a whaling bark, with Captain Weeks listed as its master, departed New Bedford for the Pacific Ocean in May of 1835, and returned in April of 1838, reporting 480 sperm, and 138 whale. Leader is listed as having been built in 1815 in Fairhaven, and that she broke up in 1851.)
I am in the heart of historic downtown Edgartown - two blocks from Edgartown's historic center with its multitude of shops and restaurants; four blocks from Edgartown Harbor, with two beaches within walking distance, and two miles from the best family swimming beach on the planet: Bend in the Road Beach (aka State Beach), and three miles from South Beach - all accessible via bike paths and public transportation.

Sara is a wonderful host, and there's a lot to learn about this quaint area right from her living room coffee table. Stay here for the quick walk to the scenic locations around Edgartown; it was a perfect cozy couple's retreat. Thanks!

  • Larry responded immediately & facilitated everything for us at last minute. Our original rental not available. This could have been disastrous for our vacation. Cottage was clean and homey and directions easy to follow. Within walking distance of main street, ferry, grocery store, bakery/cafe, restaurants, & bus stop. Perfect for 1 or 2 or max of 3 if child. We loved it. Stayed for a week. Private yet close to amenities. Quiet. Outside grill, outside shower, & great screened porch. Perfect for relaxing with a good book in the morning sun.

  • A perfect spot for a couple or small family with young kids. Larry was really easy to communicate with and answered any questions promptly. The cottage was adorable, quiet, and was very clean when we arrived. We enjoyed the location--nice walks around the neighborhood and only a short walk to Vineyard Haven main street. We brought our toddler and it was nice to stay in a place that was so walkable--to Owens Park, the library, ice cream and breakfast. We had our car too, and it was a central location to explore the island. The screen porch, outdoor shower, AC, and cable TV were a bonus too! Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again.

    Hannah2018-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Larry is a wonderful host. The location is ideal: a short walk from town center, and perfectly quiet for a sound night of sleep. The barbecue was an added bonus allowing fresh fish to be grilled after a short saunter to 'Net Result'. The cute cottage provided a perfect getaway. Look forward to returning.

  • We just finished our first stay on MV and the LL! We could not be happier with our choice to pick Deborah's place for our stay. All the added ammenties made it our home away from home. From the wine and bagels she provided for us to the comfy blanket, beach chairs, the grill outside, etc. The decorations made the cottage feel so cozy. We loved how close we were to downtown Tisbury with all the shops and restaurants. Our must-do on the island was seeing the sunset at the Aquinnah Cliffs! The day we left we saw 6 turkeys right outside the fence! And Bob was a great watch dog lol. We will absolutely be staying here again on our next visit to the island.

    Michael2016-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a wonderful 2-night stay at the Little Lobster. The location is in a quiet neighborhood and there are many shops and restaurants nearby on Main St. The house was clean, comfortable (best sleep I've had in a long time), and had everything we needed. It was so hard to say goodbye:(

    Tiffany2016-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Even cuter than the photos. Wine in the fridge. Monogrammed towels. Nice quiet neighborhood. Darling dog Bob. Pretty landscaping. Comfy sofa, bedding. Friendly hostess. Keurig AND coffee maker. DVD (don't bring your Blue Rays). Very serene.

    felice2015-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Visit was fantastic! We arrived to a ready, clean home just a quick walk from many shops, restaurants and more. Host was very gracious, asking if we needed more towels or soap. Definitely visit again!

  • My parents stayed in Deb's Little Lobster for one night. They had a wonderful time and loved the place! It was beautifully done up with all new appliances and there were so many nice towels etc for them to use. They were very comfortable indeed and will always remember their stay. Thank you so much Deb!

  • Upon arrival, the house was clean, welcoming and adorable. Everything is new with high end amenities. Deborah welcomed us with a personal note, a bottle of wine, some bagels and coffee for breakfast! The outdoor space is private and very charming and certainly entices you to spend time out there. Deborah was available by text and very responsive when we had a question. We loved Little Lobster and would highly recommend it to others

  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Little Lobster. The house was perfect for the two of us to relax and enjoy each others company before our baby is born in January. The bed was so comfortable I wanted to pack it up and bring it home with me on the ferry. The house is a close walk to Vineyard Haven Shops and restaurants. Deborah is amazing! She made us feel so comfortable and at home. We cannot wait to come back to the Little Lobster next year!

    Marjorie2014-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is my favorite Airbnb so far. Deborah’s place was lovely. We were only able to spend two nights, but felt completely restored when we left. Deb is an amazing host. She gave us great advice on what to see and do on the island. The bed is extremely comfortable and I slept like a baby. The cottage is so cute and comfortable that I could have just hung out there with a book. You will not regret a stay here. I can not wait to go back!

Your own room in a three bedroom family home on Martha’s Vineyard with WATER views! There is a large BACK DECK so feel free to chill out with us while we BBQ together and watch the stunning SUNSET! The room is on the smaller size with a full size bed
Conveniently located three-bedroom, two bath Martha’s Vineyard home. You will always have your own room however we have friends/family in the 3rd bedroom. The house is not FANCY but it's in a great location halfway between downtown Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven. We like to have a very laid back atmosphere in the house. There is a back deck that overlooks a large pond and STUNNING sunsets each night. The kitchen has all of the cooking supplies you would ever need available for your use. Or to have a BBQ and a beer on the back deck!
Our house is in beautiful Oak Bluffs just a few minutes walk to a semi-private beach! We are conveniently located to both Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven downtown areas (where the ferry to the island arrives) filled with cute specialty shops, wonderful restaurants, and other unique beach town touches! There is a bike path on our street that you can use to ride around the entire island and the bus line to downtown Oak Bluffs stops right in front of our house!

  • Erica was great with pre-arrival communication. Her home is one and a half miles from the ferry in Oak Bluffs, which we walked during the daytime and traveled via the number 9 bus at night. Erica is a fascinating, intelligent person to chat with, but was also very cool with giving us space. The house is a ranch and bedrooms are close together, but in the room with the twin beds where we stayed, we felt relaxed and comfortable, not like we were intruding. We had a great stay and really enjoyed exploring the island from Erica's home base.

    Taryn2015-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • I made this reservation for 2 nights for my cousin. He only stayed one night. We do not recommend that anyone stay here. The kitchen is not clean, the room is not welcoming and the hosts didn't seem to care.

    Terri2015-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Perfect GetAway at Oak Bluffs is perfect if you're looking for a place to crash on the vineyard with little money spent. Likely the most affordable stay on the island. However, this comes at a price. While host Erica was a delight, offering pleasant hellos in passing, she was not present the first two nights of our stay. Her boyfriend Rodez hosted. He was kind and offered suggestions on the island and left us mostly to ourselves. However, the first two evenings were full of loud door closings (old house with sticky doors), wall thumps, and a high volume television. The house itself is a very modest ranch home on a grassy marsh that has clearly seen better days. While the home is not in disrepair per say, it is in need of some TLC to bring it up to par in order to be welcoming to guests. Simple things like a new (clean) shower lining and a usable couch (to look out the window across the beautiful marsh out back) would go a long way. Erica and Rodez have a friendly and sweet dog named Gracie that has laid claim to the living room couch, burrowing into it creating large holes in the cushions which render the couch useless. We spent no time here. The bathroom is dated, and is shared by all. Towels are available, but expect to provide your own toiletries and bath linens. The bedroom is where we spent the majority of our time in the home, which was minimal to begin with. It's a small room with two twin beds. There is a dresser but the drawers are not functional. We lived out of our suitcases for the duration of the stay, which was fine. The mattresses are firm and pillows thin (we suggest you bring your own pillows). There is a dusty desk fan, but in the summer heat, it does little to cool the room. A small window to the outside was open for circulation, but the room had a constant smell of mildew. Throughout the house windows and doors remained open for circulation, but some screens were either ripped off or torn allowing mosquitos entrance to the home. The best part of the home was by far the back deck, which Erica herself said she loves. It over looks the marsh area. We spent an hour or so of our last night sitting on the deck watching the sun set and listening to nature. It was quite relaxing. The weeds/dead flowers in planters need to go though. Overall our stay was sufficient for our needs but we got what we paid for. Minor attention to details such as filled planters on the deck, a clean shower, or a cleaned and emptied kitchen sink would go a long way improving the aesthetic quality of the home. The state of the house could be forgiven, however the noisy nights were much more disturbing. Interactions with our hosts were pleasant enough, but the reservation...

  • Erica was very welcoming as soon as we walked in. She is very kind and gave us wonderful suggestions of where to go. The location is key! Very close to downtown oak bluffs and vineyard haven/ both beautiful areas. If you're looking for a place to simoly sleep at night this is the place to be. Listing was pretty accurate. One flaw is that the house is right on a busy street and it could get pretty loud at night or early morning when cars are driving by. No lock on door to room but felt safe. They also keep door of house open throughout the stay so you won't get a key.

    Monds2016-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house is well-located with easy access to both Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven. The room was as described and the house had a nice deck in the back which was great for watching the sunset. The host was very friendly. My only criticisms would be that the house was not very clean when I arrived. I ended up sweeping my room in fact and doing some spot cleaning in the bathroom. I was not expecting a five-star hotel at that price, but the place should have definitely been cleaned properly before we arrived.

    Danielle2014-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Tayo was not in town. Erica was a very nice host and was very warm and welcoming. Her boyfriend was staying with her. They are both interesting happy people. They made sure my stay was very comfortable. The room is like in the pictures, it was comfortable and good value for your buck. The bus number 9 stops right in front of the house and the cab number erica gave me came in very handy. Just 5$ from their house to oak bluffs and vice versa. I recommend them to other people.

  • Erica is a friendly host and knows the island well. Her place is easy to find and accessible by bikes.

  • John and Judy were the perfect hosts. Their suite was spacious, immaculate, comfortable, and the location, part way between Oak Bluffs and Edgartown, was ideal. We came with just our bikes and could pedal all the way to Edgartown without ever leaving a bike path (dedicated to bikes only). Their location was quiet, serene and semi-rural beautiful, especially this time of year (early October). We had mentioned we came to Martha's Vineyard to celebrate our 10th anniversary and John and Judy thoughtfully and generously left a bottle of red wine for us. Genuine, friendly, easy to talk to. We'd be thrilled to stay at their place again and many times over.

  • Very central location. Nice spacious comfortable studio. Outdoor shower is a nice amenity.

    Mary2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • John and Judy couldn't have made us feel more welcome. The perfect hosts. We spent four nights in the self-contained annexe which is just as picturesque and as spacious as it looks. Great location for easy and quick acces to Vineyard Haven, Oaks Bluff and Edgartown, but blissfully quiet. We hired bikes and rode to the towns and to south beach. We took a picnic we collected from Black Sheep in Edgartown. John kindly recommended Larsen's for lobster and it was delicious. A wonderful stay. Can't recommend John and Judy's place highly enough.

    Jo2014-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great experience staying here! The suite was very clean and had everything we needed. It was quiet and in a great location - not far from Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs, Edgartown, or many beaches. It was also right by the bike path! John was very responsive when we had questions and allowed us to drop our bikes off before check in. No complaints!!

    Eve2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • John and Judy were great hosts. The room has it's own front door and a private bathroom. It offers comfort, calm and privacy. It is spacious and came with all amenities. We had an amazing time on the Vineyard and I will definitely recommend this place to my friends.

    Julien2014-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • great place to stay, super quiet and so dark you'll see all the stars at night in the open green space across the street from the house. 2.5 miles form circuit avenue, a nice easy bike ride.

    Glenn2014-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • The room was great! Very private and secluded, clean, and nice. John was a great and pleasant host. I highly recommend it!

  • John and Judy made me feel very welcome. John even carried my bag in for me. The studio apartment was perfect for my needs. It was clean comfortable and fairly priced. The location is perfect on MV and it's out of the way of the noise and traffic. I highly recommend this rental for travelers to MV.

Lovely, newly renovated 500 sq. ft. guest cottage on peaceful, residential hilltop near town & water. Open kitchen & living areas, BR with double bed, sweet twin BR off main BR, convertible queen sofa in LR, private patio & fenced in yard for pups. Close to everything - For children, walk to the park, playground or water. For adults, a 3 minute walk down the hill to the lagoon to kayak or windsurf. Or walk downtown to great shops & restaurants, the beach or a great movie. A true pleasure.
Layout of cottage: When you first walk into the cottage you are in the living room, with the kitchen and bathroom off to your left. In the living room is a queen sized nice sofa bed. Through the living room is a door to the master bedroom, which has a full sized bed, dresser, end table and roomy closet. When you walk into that bedroom, there is a door on your left that goes to the twin room. It is a beautiful, very little room with a built in bed, shelving, desk and washer and dryer. There is a fenced in yard, with a brand new outdoor shower, patio, outdoor furniture and grill.
This beautiful hilltop cottage is on a lovely residential street a short walk to town (Main Street in Vineyard Haven). You can walk either through a park and playground or along the lagoon to go into town, to restaurants or shops, or to the ferry. To get to beaches from this cottage you can walk down the hill to the lagoon, where you can rent kayaks and paddle out. Our cottage is just outside the center of Vineyard Haven and the ferry.
  • Sharon was fantastic, and the cottage was beautiful! Although our stay was short, we felt very welcomed. I Recommend staying here 100%. Great house, Great location AND a bottle of wine! We dont drink, but the idea is what counts! Thank you Sharon!

    Andrew2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon's cottage was adorable and full of charm! She is a very attentive host. My kids loved the tree swing in the front of the yard. Plenty of beach chairs and toys for the kids to bring to the beach. Well-stocked kitchen. Amazing location. We really enjoyed staying there.

    Kathleen2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, very nice, and a overall a great price for the Vineyard. Good location, too. We especially appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and beach supplies. However, be aware that this is a very small cottage, best suited for only 1 person or a couple. (The second bedroom is accessed through the primary bedroom.) The other house on the property, with which you share a driveway, is also an Airbnb rental.

    Vanessa2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very well provisioned, tidy and cute. Sharon was great at communication. The only drawback is that my husband is 6 '3 so he found the height of the cottage a little problematic where as I found it COZY! It is walking distance to town and the neighborhood is quiet.

    Deborah2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon was able to accommodate my friends and I at extremely short notice, in what I understand is a highly demanded property! The photos are very accurate and check-in couldn't have been easier. We had a lovely stay, in a great location, and I couldn't recommend it more.

    Andrew2015-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable, sweet, clean and comfy cottage with a ton of amenities. Great location -- walk to ferry, town -- can't beat that. Really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

    Donna2017-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Place is quite small but my main complaint is that the place is pretty run down. There are lots of bugs and it was not clean when we got there. We complained and they had the place cleaned again but wouldn't let us out of the agreement unless they got some other renters and had us go through some logistics even though we found another place. They assured me the electrical wire hanging down in bathroom shower was not live but this just wasn't what I expected given the pictures. Not sure we will be back to MV in the future. Overall seemed like an over priced and mediocre experience.

    Walter2017-07-01T00:00:00Z

  • Georgia's Cottage Studio was so cozy and perfect in making our visit to Martha's Vineyard even better! Her attention to detail in making the place extra special with personalized touches: fresh cut flowers, coffee, tea, modern fridge with old-fashioned milk bottle, B&B style cozy furnishings, Honeysuckle handwash soap, shampoo, conditioner, beach towels, and cafe bistro set in a private garden to enjoy morning coffees were all amazing! Thanks for the special touches Georgia!!

  • Georgia's place is in a residential neighborhood within walking distance to the vineyard haven. We saw turkeys, a nice garden and a friendly cat. The owners were nice to give us tips about what to do. I would come here again.

    Richard2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay to see Martha's Vineyard - nice and secluded but near Vineyard Haven and the ferry. As well as the sights of the island, watching the birds outside the window was nice!

    Dan2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Georgia's cottage, the location was perfect- walkable to vineyard haven if you need to, but also quiet and secluded. There were plenty of clean towels, and coffee and tea was provided (there was even a little bottle of milk). The bed was also super comfortable, and Georgia accommodated a last minute change to the number of people staying one night of our stay, when we emailed a few days before we arrived. We are already looking forward to coming back another time soon!

  • We thoroughly loved this spot, it fully lived up to our expectations.

    Lora2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Chappaquiddick is a quiet little island with easy access to uncrowded beaches. The house accommodated the 4 adults and 2 kids in our party really well. It is a simple little cottage but the floorplan is nice an open which makes it feel bigger. The Chappy ferry was easy to navigate. We often left our car at the ferry parking lot and just walked onto the ferry to Edgartown which takes about 10min. The house had 6 bikes which we used every day. If you plan to bike, bring extra helmets for kids which we did. Overall a nice comfortable place to stay.

    Patrik2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house was spacious and clean. It is a little out of the way, as it is on Chappy, but overall we enjoyed our stay!

  • Gerda’s Vineyard Haven Apt # 1 was anything short of amazing! The unit’s decor was exactly designed like the photos. Getting off the ferry and going directly to the unit was incredibly easy which takes you less than ten minutes to get to. As the other reviews have stated, the staircase getting into the unit is very narrow so only having a carry-on is recommended. You are close to shops and eateries; and of course, if you love icecream there is a really good homemade icecream shop right next door. We will certainly be back!

    Mike2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • You are going to love the elegance, comfort and perfect location of this beautifully presented and perfectly formed 'pied a Terre'. Gerda clearly knows how to present the perfect getaway and is a very helpful host, managing to accommodate us at very short notice, for which we were extremely grateful.

    Joanne2017-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was short, but very homey. Gerda did a great job decorating the suite with a blend of cape cod, and French Chic. Very Cozy. Gerda was very welcoming as well.

    Nelson2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazingly beautiful place, Gerda was extremely helpful, and the place was totally worth every penny. Would stay again!

  • Gerda's place is about as central as you can get in Vineyard Haven. It's located right on Main Street, and steps from the ferry stop. The place itself was super comfy and cute. We're very happy with our stay.

  • It was truly wonderful. The apartment was beautiful, comfortable and inspiring..

    Amy2016-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Gerda made everything so easy from booking to departure. The apartment is beautifully clean and very stylish, perfect for a single person or a couple. We made use of the beach towels and beach chairs, they were greatly appreciated. The apartment is within walking distance of the ferry to Hyannis and it was easy to book a rental car locally to tour the island. We had a great meal at The Cinnamon Wok across the road from the apartment . Great sushi bar as well. The street below is a little noisy early morning, but it made us get up and make the most of the sun. We would highly recommend a stay at Gerda's apartment.

Two room, full bath on East Chop within a ten minute walk of shops, restaurants and beaches in Oak Bluffs. Sleeps up to four. There is a full bed in the bedroom and a futon that folds out into a bed in the living room. After a day at the beach or exploring the town or island, it is the perfect neighborhood to wind down and relax for a quiet evening in a park like setting.
A stroll of the neighborhood will find you amidst parks with towering oaks and elms, quaint houses and quiet walking trails. A five minute walk towards town will find you in a large field that opens to harbor views. A few more strides past a summer filled harbor of boats and you will have access to restaurants, bars, shops and even a carousel and games that will entertain the kids. A short diversion north of the harbor brings you to sunny and sandy Jetty beach with views of boats entering and exiting the marina. Do one or both and you will have a fulfilled day without ever setting off foot. A walk back to the house will find you again in a rural setting for a quiet nights sleep.
  • Perfect for what we were looking for. Paul was a thoughtful host and easy to communicate with. He left us some banana bread which was delicious. The place is basic and small but in line with the cost. It felt clean and inviting . Would stay there again.

They also knew we were traveling with a one year old so they set out specific items for our son, Ezra, which was so kind and considerate. I only wish we got to see more of Paul & Alli but we were so busy having a perfect time on the island. I highly recommend staying here!

  • We really enjoyed our stay. Paul responded quickly to communication and accommodated our needs. The place was a perfect spot for a short visit. It had all the amenities of a hotel room plus a few extra treats. I hope to stay here again next summer!

Pied-á-terre # 2 Vineyard Haven is but a short stroll from the ferry. Found in the heart of Vineyard Haven, this beautiful apartment is in the center of our village and it's mix of restaurants, shops, galleries and theaters. A seamless blend of comfort and convenience!
  • Quaint apartment in the heart of Vineyard Haven. Gerda was wonderful with answering any questions we had.

  • Great place to stay in the heart of Vineyard Haven. Super close to the ferry. Gerda was a great hostess!!

  • The apartment was well appointed and Gerda thought of every detail and need.

  • This was our first time to the island. Gerda's place is in the heart of Vineyard Haven. Great shops right outside your door and a 2 minute walk to the ferry and public transportation. Right across the street was a great coffee shop although the apartment had a nespresso. The apartment was so cozy and inviting. It had a French country feel to it. Gerda provides you with bath linens, comfy robes beach towels and beach chairs, hair dryer and iron. We spent Memorial Day weekend Saturday to Monday and were able to visit all over the island but we did rent a car for one day. Otherwise I'm not sure we would have been able to do so. If your planning a longer stay you can use public transportation or taxi. Taxi can get pricey though. See as much as you can. We will be back again to MV for sure. If we decide to stay in vineyard haven I would stay at Gerdas again. She is a wonderful and thoughtful host.

  • This apartment was perfect on many levels. The location was phenomenal, right on the Main Street of shops and restaurants. Brand new furnishings and a modern kitchen with everything needed for a short or long stay. There are extra beach chairs and beach towels. If you have a vehicle, there is neighborhood parking in various directions. Gerda was a great host, very welcoming and her communication with us before, during and after our stay was so prompt. We plan on visiting again and would surely stay here and I've recommended the property to friends that will be traveling there in the future. You won't be disappointed.

Sunny second-floor bedroom with private bath and queen bed, in a classic fishing captain's home a short walk to Lighthouse Beach, shops, restaurants, churches & bus stop with service to other Island towns. Twin room available as add-on, sharing bath. 2 night minimum July, August unless one night only available.
A traditional farmhouse built for fishing captain Horace O. Hillman in the late 19th century, our two-story home is bathed in sunlight and steps from Edgartown harbor. Wake to the sounds of birds and take a walk to the waterfront, or relax on our sunny deck. No car is needed: We're four blocks from the bus stop and bike rentals, and just a stroll from Memorial Wharf, where the Falmouth Ferry lands. If you bring a vehicle, we can arrange for parking.
Enjoy a stay in one of Edgartown's most historic neighborhoods, with beaches on two sides and a wildlife sanctuary just down the street. Village cafés, shopping, restaurants and nightlife are within easy walking distance; the new public library is 3/4 of a mile away.

Sarah was lovely! Accomdating, gracious, helpful. The space was great for two people (not a couple), with a bed and a pullout sofa, along with a curtain to seperate the two areas. Great location. Stay!

Our stay in Ellen's place was wonderful. We were so sad to leave! The studio was very cleaned when we arrived. It is spacious, charming with lots of lovely details in the decoration, and excellently located and equipped for a perfect beach vacation. The pictures truly don't do it justice! The studio has a screened porch that's perfect for sitting after a long day at the beach or after dinner. You can tell that Ellen truly cares about the details and guests, and she is very responsive. She also left useful information about the Vineyard to help guests get situated and get the most out of their vacation. The studio is located on a quiet residential neighborhood on the way to South Beach, one of the Vineyard's oceanfront beaches. It is about a 10 minute walk to the #8 bus stop and if you catch that bus is only a 5 minute ride to the beach! If you stay on the bus, it is a short ride to downtown Edgartown and its many shops and restaurants, as well as the supermarket. In Edgartown, you can also catch buses to tour the rest of the island or go to a different beach. The bus stop is on the bike path to the beach and downtown Edgartown, so a short ride from the studio. We did not bike, but that's our personal preference, we mostly relied on the Vineyard's bus system. We love to walk so we did walk to town during the day, which was about 20 minutes or so.

The bungalow was exactly as described and pictured. Nancy, the host, was very welcoming and checked in on us throughout our stay. Location as ideal for walking into Tisbury and catching the bus system around the island. The bungalow was eccentrically designed but what put this rental over the top for my husband and I were the amenities Nancy provided like bagels, organic juice, coffee, organic cream, and lox! Thanks for a great stay Nancy.
