Walk to Belle Isle, 6 min drive to downtown! A spacious 1BR corner loft overlooking the river and two parks. Lots of light and beautiful view. Convenient location off Jefferson Ave and Detroit's Riverwalk. Gated parking for one car. First time visitors to Detroit and city regulars will enjoy using my loft as a base of operations. I've been a contributing author to Wildsam Field Guides, an eclectic guidebook publisher, and have great recommendations for most cravings in this unique city.
I have a few spaces in Detroit. If this loft is unavailable, check one of my other cool spots: https://www.airbnb.com/users/6405993/listings This loft is beautiful, open, and full of light. A perfect retreat in Detroit. I grew up in Montana, lived in India for a few years, and ran a journalism startup in Detroit called Jaunt, so I have decorated my place with remnants of my travels. I also contributed to a Detroit guidebook called WildSam Field Guides, so I can help you put together a good itinerary or fill any holes you might have. I mostly live on my sailboat during the summer and I teach Marine Science on a sailing school vessel. The loft is all open except for the bathroom. The bedroom is separated by a wall without a ceiling. The kitchen has all the basic essentials and utensils plus coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, etc. for breakfast. I have an HDTV with Blu-Ray, Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and an HD OTR antennae for NBC, ABC, FOX, etc. Then there's the bed. Queen and super comfortable - I splurged on the bed because good sleep is really important to me. For extra guests, there is a queen pull-out sofa in the common area. The apartment can accommodate up to four (two in each queen bed) but you're starting to get a little cramped. I will decline requests for greater than four people unless you have a special circumstance. There are two A/C units: one window-mounted right next to the bed and the other in the living room space. They do a good job on the loft 90% of the time, but if the sun is glaring and it is scorching hot, they won't be able to create the refrigerated A/C frigidity we are used to with central air. The bedroom unit works perfectly if you shut the door to the common area. In the winter, you can turn the heat up as much as you like and make it toasty warm.
I moved here in October, 2014 from the nearby West Village area where there are a few great new restaurants, like Craft Work, Detroit Vegan Soul, and Red Hook Coffee. The loft is on the Riverwalk, which is a bike/walk trail connecting you to downtown and Eastern Market via the Dequindre Cut, a converted rail line that runs off of the Riverwalk. I am also walking distance to the Belle Isle bridge. The building is kitty corner to a Coast Guard base, a U.S. Federal building, and the offices of a private security firm. The streets are lit and other residents of the building are frequently coming and going. I have always felt that the area around where I live is quite safe.
  • Great place! Love then spot and love the atmosphere Thane has created. There was unfortunately construction while we were there. that started early but it helped us get out of bed and start exploring the city. Thane was a great host! Really enjoyed all the goodies he left for us.

    Daniel2015-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Both Thane and his mom were there to welcome us when we arrived and provided us with great tips and resources. We loved the stocked kitchen, the availability of the bikes (which were put to good use), and the location. We spent a ton of time each evening on the river walk. Both the loft and the building itself were awesome! The only recommendations we might make for future guests are earplugs if you are light sleepers since you can hear footsteps from the apartment upstairs (although for those of you accustomed to apartment living, this will be no big deal and it certainly is not something that lasts all night) and maybe an eye mask for any guests that sleep in the living room since some, but not all, of the beautiful windows do not have curtains. Overall, just an amazing stay and such a great start to our vacation in Michigan this summer! Thanks so much!!!

    Todd2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Thane was great. Friendly, knowledgeable, prompt. Place was wonderful. High ceilings, great light. Lots of interesting stuff.

    Nelson2014-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome. Easily my favourite airbnb and i've stayed in a zillion of them. I felt bad for leaving karen a bunch of dishes because she's super cool. the airbnb was both quiet and flooded with light in the morning. I totally loved my stay and would recommend the space to anyone.

    Morgan2017-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • The noise was beyond just normal apartment noise, and definitely beyond what earplugs would help. I left after one night and requested a refund for the remaining two nights of my stay. Haven't heard back if they are giving me my refund. The apartment was clean and the kitchen was reasonable. The location was only OK, but nice to have gated parking. There was paving being done in street which host didn't warn me about; work started at 7:30 AM and was quite loud. Also the street lights make the whole apartment lit up like daylight all night long. The bedroom has drapes, but the walls don't extend to the ceiling, so light from windows in living area came right in.

    Samantha2018-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! The apartment is gorgeous and very comfortable. Beautiful view of the river/park. Great way to visit Detroit.

    Michael2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great space. Great experience!

    Alex2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • I had a fantastic first airbnb experience in Thane's gorgeous loft! Before I booked, I had a few questions about parking and he responded within minutes. When I arrived, he was welcoming and gave me quick tour. I felt comfortable immediately. The listing is accurate -- I woke up the next morning to a sunny loft overlooking a really cool park in Detroit. As for the building and neighborhood, I'm from Chicago and this area of Detroit reminded me of what I see in the West Loop or South Loop of Chicago -- converted warehouses with grit and character. If you're looking for an urban experience, this is for you.

A beautiful, open, airy loft space housed within a completely renovated 1926 industrial building. Centrally located on Woodward Avenue, steps away from the Amsterdam stop of the newly-installed QLINE in New Center. Hop on, and be anywhere you'd like in New Center, Midtown, or Downtown in minutes. Relax, you're home.
This is a modern loft apartment housed within a completely renovated 1926 building that originally housed graphic artists for General Motors, and other companies. Designed by famed-Detroit architect Albert Kahn, you'll notice the signature art-deco front-facade and incredible lobby of the building. All the character of the loft is still intact, from the concrete floors, brick exterior wall, and the mushroom columns Albert Kahn was known for. Home includes a large kitchen, front load washer and dryer, incredibly fast internet with wifi and one bedroom with a queen-sized bed. This building is incredibly peaceful, quiet, and relaxing; while being just blocks away from anything you'd want to do in the city. Kitchen includes gas stove/oven, stainless steel sink, refrigerator, toaster, pots, pans, coffee maker, and any other utensils you need to call Detroit home for a few days. You'll find a single bedroom (this was originally a studio unit, but has been converted into a completely-walled one bedroom unit). Beautifully comfortable queen bed, small dresser, and chair. The main bathroom includes a subway tile shower/tub, sink, and any towels and amenities you'll need to make your stay perfect. Awesomely comfy white cotton sheets are included in the bedroom. The living room includes a couch (can be used for extra sleeping space, but isn't a pull-out), coffee table, and two chairs. 50" HDTV is hooked up to an Apple TV with Netflix. Outdoor space includes a small patio (which you'll enter from) with two bistro chairs and table. Enjoy the sunny back-alley of the building with a drink of your choice from the fridge. Local spots within walking/biking distance include the incredibly beautiful art-deco Fisher and Albert Kahn buildings; Midtown Shopping (Shinola, Willys, Nora, Hugh, Carhartt, Fellow Barber, City Bird, Nest, and more); the mid-century gardens and campus at Wayne State, and more. Local attractions include the city and public art, Belle Isle with its beaches, waterpark, Albert Kahn designed conservatory and aquarium, and trails. The world is your oyster. Restaurants nearby including fast food, Northern Lights Lounge, Falafill, Dangerously Delicious Pies, City Wings, Motor City Brewing Works, Jolly Pumpkin, and more. The loft is all yours while you're here. Enjoy, relax, and hang out. I prefer text and AirBnB message for communication. Taking photos during your stay? Make sure you #thatdetroitloft.
Awesome location right on Woodward at the Midtown/New Center border. Just a few blocks either way to a ridiculous amount of inspiration, character, activities, and restaurants. Take in the Detroit Institute of Arts, or check out the art-deco skyscrapers of New Center.
  • Jesse was an amazing host! The apartment was exactly as listed, and he was very communicative through the entire process. He would send me daily text messages to make sure I had everything I needed. I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Detroit.

Welcome to Woodbridge Farm! ...a friendly, spacious & quiet neighborhood, close to all of the happenings in/around Detroit. Enjoy the newly renovated 2nd floor of our 1884 Historic house. The apt is cozy w/ yummy architectural/design details.
WOODBRIDGE FARM: We love it here! ...very special and unique. The street is filled with Urban Pioneers and creative types; artists, musicians, gardeners, and makers. You will find that most homes sit on larger pieces of land, giving Woodbridge Farms a unique feel. Many of the houses in the area have undergone impressive renovations, and for the others the renovation is underway. We have completed the interior renovations of this home, and soon we will start renovation on the house next door, which we also own. From the outside they look a little rough, but keep coming back and you will be able to witness the transformation! US & OUR RENOVATION PROJECTS: We are longtime Detroiter’s. We are committed to the City, and we are so happy to have been a part of the revitalization of Detroit. We love old homes …and we love to renovate them! Zac is a general contractor, and Renee is an Interior Designer. Together, we have been restoring old homes in Woodbridge for the last 15 years. LOCATION: You are a short walk/drive from Detroit’s midtown area, where you will find a variety of restaurants and shopping. Both Corktown and Downtown are within a few miles. It is a very quiet neighborhood, conveniently located to all major freeways. Lots of parking. THE LISTING: Newly renovated, with the best of care. Open plan kitchen, dining, and living. King size bed with fine linens and nice pillows. The bedroom windows are opposite the sun rise. It is a very peaceful space, bright, open and fresh. We are sure you will love the apartment. It is clean and private. We have an office on the first floor that is completely separate from the space. Zac is typically there M-F 9-5 should you need to fax ,copy or have any questions. If you have any special requests we will do our best to accommodate you, if given a bit of notice. We live 2 blocks away from the apartment should anything urgent come up.
  • Zac & Renee were great with keeping in contact and were really flexible with check-in time. I only met Zac in person and he was very helpful with giving me really good insight about the the city neighborhoods and all the changes happening in Detroit. The place itself was fantastic - huge open & airy space, gorgeously renovated / designed.

    Raphael2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Zac and Renee's place was great. The apartment was beautiful. We wish we had more time to just relax and enjoy the wonderful space. The apartment was a short drive to everything we wanted to see in Detroit, and there was plenty of street parking. Communication was easy. Taco the cat came by and paid us a short visit, and he was the sweetest cat we've ever met. We would love to stay at the apartment the next time we are in Detroit.

    Max2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect! Just As described. Beatiful and clean. Zac and Renee were accommodating and friendly.I would book with them again in a second!

    Thomas2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely wonderful stay. Zac & Renee were communicative and cheerful hosts and the flat totally charmed us. It's obvious they've put a lot of time and thought into it. As promised, there was a lot of sunshine. The decor is thoughtful and calming. We were welcomed by Taco the cat, a most courteous (and cuddly and adorable) ambassador. In terms of locale, there are a bunch of great spots to drink and eat, which was great for us. In sum, I hope all of my future airbnb experiences are just like this one, and if I'm ever back in Detroit I know I won't have to worry.

    Joe2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect Detroit experience, a spacious and cosy flat walking distance from DIA 1and great restaurants like Selden Standard. The bed is large and comfy and the bathroom full of great products! Would recommend it without hesitation!

    Antoine2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish spot with a wide open feel. Plenty of natural light filled the space making it real airy and vibrant. my girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay.

    Cy2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice space, quirky like you would want an Airbnb. Clean apartment, the air conditioning leaves a little to be desired. The neighborhood is a neat starting point to explore Detroit. Very quiet, it exudes the past, fascinating architecture. Late one night we met Taco the cat, very friendly and he wanted an invite to our place that we just couldn't give. He does have his work cut out for him, there's a little mice problem due to the over growth of the lots next door, perhaps.

    Adam2016-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • This space is an absolute delight. It is true to the description and, if possible, even better than the photos! The apartment is thoughtfully decorated and stocked with all the essentials. The location was perfect for us, nestled in a quiet neighborhood but a short distance from all the city attractions we wanted to visit. Zac & Renee were very responsive, and the welcome note gives detailed instructions, so we felt right at home. Plus, Taco is a joy to be around - what a friendly cat! All in all, we had an amazing stay and would love to be back. Would recommend the apartment to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in the city.

Upstairs from Slows BBQ and on the same block as Astro, Sugar House and Gold Cash Gold, this two-bedroom neighborhood inn provides an immersive, welcoming travel experience in the heart Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood.
A small-scale, design-focused Detroit inn, Honor & Folly is reminiscent of the way folks used to travel: a few beds above the village pub or restaurant. You'll be immersed in this historical neighborhood that's also at the forefront of the city's current revitalization. Featured in Martha Stewart Living, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit (made the 40 "Best Food Lovers Hotels in America" Awards), The Globe and Mail, Details Magazine, Conde Nast Traveller UK, and Afar. With a prime Corktown location, you'll be situated smack into the middle of one of the most thriving, charming and walk-able neighborhoods in the city—right across from the city’s most beautiful icon of urban decay: the old train station. Admire it up-close or enjoy the beautiful view through the big living room windows—you can even see the Ambassador Bridge! Sharing a block with Slows, Astro, Gold Cash Gold and Sugar House, Honor & Folly also offers plenty of other nearby bars, shops and restaurants within a quick stroll (I provide guests with a list of my favorite recommendations), as well as easy access to downtown. The well-appointed space is decorated with goods made by Detroit and Midwest-based designers and artisans—much of which is also for sale. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and its own bathroom, for a capacity of four people, with additional possible sleeping arrangements for kids. From time to time, Honor & Folly is used as a community space, hosting workshops or events, but you will have the space entirely to yourself during your stay. OTHER AMENITIES: outdoor balcony | local design | fully stocked cooking kitchen | potential to arrange custom catering, private dinner parties, etc.
  • I had an amazing time exploring Detroit, thanks in large part to staying here. As an old building lover, I was in awe of being across the street from the beautiful Michigan Central Station. Beyond that, you are literally above one of Motor City's coolest neighborhoods, complete with great restaurants and an adorable cafe. The accommodations were spotlessly clean and impeccably decorated. I can't wait to be a repeat customer.

    Jason2013-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • The only downfall to staying at Honor and Folly Corktown Inn is that it's hard to leave the flat and the neighborhood because both make you feel like you belong. Everything you need is either downstairs (delicious food and drinks at Slows), next door (Astro Coffee), a quick walk down the sidewalk (Sugar House and Gold Cash Gold for unique cocktails and cuisine) or around the block (Honey Bee Market for out of the ordinary grocery stock up). I only say downfall because you don't want to miss the opportunity to explore other parts of this lovable city full of history, emotion, and hope. Fabulous host. Fabulous space. Fabulous stay. Can't wait to return. We LOVE Detroit and Honor and Folly Corktown Inn.

    Jill2016-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Meghan's place is stunning - the pictures do not do it justice. Not only does it look beautiful but it is comfortable and well equipped. The location can't be beat and though it's in the heart of a bustling area and easily accessible it's also very quiet and relaxed. Can't recommend it enough.

    Mark2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place to stay! Perfectly located to get anywhere in the city, amazingly comfortable, designed and spacious. I was in Detroit for a photo project and able to spread out, work and with Astro Coffee, Slow's, GCG and other amenities right on the block, I never really had to leave but when I did, it was such a warm and beautiful place to return to at the end of the day. Meghan is full of information and I was so inspired by her terrific sense of design that it actually enhanced my own work. Thanks and cannot wait to return.

    Sara Jane2015-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous weekend stay at Meghan's lovely space in Corktown! The apartment is beautiful, bright, airy, clean, and overlooked Corktown's best restaurants, bars and coffee shop. The apartment was well-furnished with everything you'd need for very comfortable stay and we felt so at home. Meghan was a terrific host, sent us great articles about destinations to check out in Corktown and Detroit, and was available if we needed anything. We would definitely stay here again when next we visit Detroit! This is a perfect place from which to explore Corktown and all of the amazing offerings throughout the whole city. Thanks again, Meghan!

    Kelly2015-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • The reviews for Meghan's place do not lie! This place is really something else and exceeded our expectations. Our family stayed 2 nights over Christmas and we were so happy with our stay. The place was well-located, spacious, great for cooking and very cozy. Decor was great and the place was fully stocked (not just the kitchen, but she had everything...tape, scissors, maps, etc!) Meghan was a great host (We communicated through air bnb and through text messages). She was very fast to communicate about any questions we had and the fact that the place has a "punch-in" lock system made it easy for us to come and go without having to meet-up to exchange keys. Would definitely stay here again and would be fun to visit during summer months to take advantage of the patio!

    Akua2014-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place was excellent. Exactly as described and the location couldn't have been better. Everything was straightforward and overall I was very satisfied.

    Adam2015-01-26T00:00:00Z

  • Great place and professional host. We had a few minor items with the physical space but felt like they'd be addressed in advance of any visit. Would definitely come and use again.

    Will2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • This Loft was absolutely amazing. I was blown away when I arrived at the place. I had my sisters bachelorette party here. There are PLENTY of places for people to sleep even though we only had 5 girls actually stay the night it could hold all the girls who were there. literally such an amazing place, the pictures do not do it enough justice.

    Holly2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • The loft was beautiful, we really enjoyed our stay. I wish the listing made it more clear that the private terraces are locked and inaccessible. We were bummed as we were looking forward to having our own outdoor space. Other than that the unit provided everything we needed and we will hopefully be back!

    Brittany2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great Apartment and perfect for a long weekend in a group! Will stay again

    Root2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and another couple stayed here this past weekend and we had an amazing experience. The host provides easy instructions for you to park and receive keys. He was always so helpful checking up on us via texts if we needed anything which was nice but still gave us our space at the same time. The location is only about 5 min from downtown Detroit so it's pretty easy to drive there and still be apart of the area. The place was VERY spacious and clean. It was definitely one of the better Airbnbs we stayed at. We would definitely stay here again. It has a rooftop access which is nice for summer evenings. All in all we had a GREAT experience here.

Fresh Gothic-Victorian nearby the Museum of African American History, Wayne State, Third Man Records, Shinola. Sfumato Fragrances NOW OPEN in the garden level, perfume shop and low-key scented cocktail bar (search for the latest Lonely Planet article). Selden Standard across the street. 9 min walk to QLINE (approx 10 min to Downtown on the streetcar). 10 min walk to U of M Ann Arbor shuttle bus. MoGo bike rental 1 block away. Rocket Fiber gigabit internet speed. Sonos controls in wall speakers.
This 1880s Gothic-Victorian Mansion was renovated in 2015. Everything is new, clean and modern. There is a queen sized bed and an air mattress. The space can definitely accommodate 3-4 people, but it’ll be cozy (i.e., it’s a Studio). There is ample closet space, a full kitchen, washer/dryer and a private bathroom. The space gets great light. In addition to the low-key cocktail bar in the garden level, Detroit Clothing Circle clothing shop downstairs offers curated racks of clothing with styles that won't blend in with the herd.
We have a great location in Midtown Detroit, many great bars, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance. Popular nearby attractions include the DIA, MOCAD, Chartreuse, Jolly Pumpkin, Hop Cat, Motor City Brewing Works, Great Lakes Coffee and Whole Foods.
  • The studio apartment is absolutely beautiful. The location is ideal for anyone wanting to check out Midtown, with bars and restaurants just a short 2 block walk away. Would recommend Sarah's place to anyone!

    Drew & Brittany2015-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Sarah's well-appointed and perfectly located place. Detroit is making quite a comeback, and we were able to experience the best of this here in midtown. Sarah's place is walking distance to restaurants, cafes, bars and shopping. Plus, there was always street parking right in front of the building. Sarah is easy to communicate with and the keyless entry works likes a charm. Would love to stay here next time we're in The D.

  • Cute studio in a nice up and coming neighborhood! And a very helpful host .

    Emma2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • my boyfriend and i really enjoyed our stay. mark and jacquelyne were really helpful - quick to get back to us if we had any questions and provided a great list of neighborhood recommendations. studio was in the perfect location - great restaurants and bars, around the corner from a whole foods and mogo bike rental station. will definitely stay here again when we come back!

    Katherine2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time here. Jacquelyne is probably the most helpful and friendly host I've ever experienced, with plenty of tips and generally committed to smoothing your stay. The area is really excellent if you want to get a feel for Detroit's suburbs; not too far from the thrum of downtown, but far enough out to get a feel for the character of the city. There's A+ food, drink and cultural stuff (Detroit Institute of Arts and Jack White's Third Man Records) within waking distance, and it feels safe. It's a lovely loft with everything you could need, and a super comfy bed as a bonus. Ideal for couples and short stays, I reckon. Hope to be back again. G

    Gabriel2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • the apartment was very cozy. great location. you can walk around the neighborhood to shop/eat.

  • Sarah's place was well appointed and very comfortable. Great location for exploring the city. I always forget little things like shampoo or Kleenex so it was lovely to find that these details were covered. Too bad about the very loud frat party across the street that ran into the wee hours on Friday night but my guess is its an infrequent occurrence and we just got unlucky.

    Tara2016-09-19T00:00:00Z

My husband, Matt, and I have a lovely flat in Hamtramck that has been restored to its original 1920s charm. Our style is intentional and warm, and decorations include things that we have collected through the years that have meaning to us. Equipped with a queen size bed in a spacious bedroom it is perfect for a couple or close friends! There’s plenty of room for an air mattress too. The living room has a couch, eating table, chair, and bar with stools for enjoying food and beverages. We provide a TV with Netflix access, games, and books for when you feel like relaxing after a long day of hanging out in the city. The brightness and vintage style of the kitchen will warm your heart. You will love cooking in this space, not to mention you will be provided with any cooking supplies you need. Lastly, the bathroom is large and clean with a vintage claw foot tub for a tranquil bath or shower. For longer stays, you are welcome to our washer and dryer in the basement.
Hamtramck is touted as ‘The World in 2 Square Miles.’ Located directly in the center of Detroit, it is a diverse city that has its roots in the rise of the auto industry. Anyone who loves history will appreciate the beauty and architecture that still exists in Detroit and Hamtramck. Originally a hub for Polish immigrants Hamtramck has maintained its eastern European flair and guests will find excellent Polish restaurants, markets with delicious pierogi, keilbasa, and stuffed cabbage along with a Polish Art Center equipped with treasured artifacts and souvenirs. Hamtramck also has some excellent Bengali, Indian, Iraqi and Yemeni food! • This place was PERFECT for staying close to Detroit. We had such a great time, we almost ended the weekend with a spur-of-the-moment wedding. Matt and Meredith both were gone for the weekend, but Matt's sister was there with us and was very respectful of our privacy. If you stay with them on a weekend, make sure to hit the eastern market and then the bbq place right across the street. It's a dive bar that has some pretty kick ass ribs. The complimentary bottle of wine they provided (that didn't need a cork screw, even though my fiancé tried to use one on it) was delicious, and their house-made lotion was to die for. I don't think I've ever felt so soft in my entire life. We will definitely be going back.

  • A truly wonderful place to stay, and the neighborhood is full of kind interesting people! Getting anywhere in Detroit or the suburbs was easy and fast!

  • This loft is truly adorable-great decor and thoughtful touches that make for a great experience to stay at. The neighborhood was very quiet and the loft private. I enjoyed my stay and if I’m ever in the area again, I will definitely stay again.

  • Not only does this place have style and is situated in a great location, but Matthew and Meredith were super responsive and made us feel right at home. Can’t think of a better place to stay in the Detroit area!

  • Rob & I just ended our 6 night stay at Matthew & Meredith's house. It was a WONDERFUL place to call home while in Hamtramck! Very clean, close to freeways, downtown, restaurants, plenty within walking distance as well. Anytime I had a question & texted Matt, he replied right away. They are very nice & helpful. The flat is very cute & more than enough room for 2 or 3 people. I'm very glad we choose here to stay & hope to be back one day. Thanks for having us!! Jen & Rob

  • Sweet apartment - very comfortable with gracious hosts. Easy street parking and close to downtown Detroit by car. Highly recommend this place- we stayed with our nearly 3 year old and he gives it high marks too :)

  • Awesome space really clean and homely. Wonderful hosts! Highly recommended

    James2015-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Matt is an awesome host. He meet us and helped to carry our bags up to the flat. Greeting us was a vase of fresh picked flower and a bottle of red wine. Matt was super welcoming, answered all of our questions about his favorite places and Hamtramack and Detroit in general. The flat was clean, tidy, and nicely decorated. The bed was super comfy. Everything about the flat was perfect! Detroit meets mid century meets historic house. We would stay again next time we are in the area. Cheers for Matt and Meredith!

Up north at its best! Stay in a custom cabin in the middle of Rocky Top Farms, a cherry orchard. Please read this listing completely!
Custom timber-frame cabin was built by my husband, father-in-law, and me with the help from many, many friends. The little cabin is in the middle of a large cherry orchard in the heart of beautiful northern Michigan and is situated on a pond surrounded by birch trees. The love is in the details at this very special place. Climb a ladder to the romantic sleeping loft and gaze at the incredible northern night skies! Wonderful front porch! Locally made art. Amazing soapstone wood stove for cozy warmth and romantic, flickering firelight. Shared outdoor 6 person hot tub. The small kitchen is equipped with all you might need to make some wonderful meals. Fridge, sink, oven with stove top griddle, microwave. Pots, pans, mixing bowls, utensils, dishes, cups, mugs, basic oils and spices are included. OH~ and coffee maker complete with coffee. Towels, bedding and firewood are also provided. Enjoy acres of Michigan orchard, prairie, and woodlands. The north end of Torch Lake is just a couple miles away. Lake Michigan beaches are within minutes of driving. Ski resorts, breweries (can you say SHORT'S BREWING?), wineries, restaurants, farm markets are all within reach for great day trips. This property is best accessed by four- wheel drive during the winter months. You could say we are off the beaten path. This cabin can be rented in conjunction with The Treehouse at Rocky Top Farms- check it out! The Treehouse is near The Cabin, but both buildings have been designed to have a feeling of privacy. There is a wall of pine trees between the cabins. Please be reminded that this is a working orchard. You may hear ambient tractor noises at various times. You should have 4 wheel drive to access the cabin in winter- I am not joking!!! Surrounded by lakes, beaches and hiking opportunities abound! We are located 15 minutes south of Charlevoix and 20 minutes north of Elk Rapids. Bellaire (home to Short's Brewery) is 20 minutes away. Traverse City is about 30 minutes to our south. See the guidebook for a listing of our favorite spots. No public transport around here, sorry. You must have 4 wheel drive to visit the cabin in the winter.... Otherwise, prepare to hike about 1/4 mile to the cabin, and park at the barn. The water here is well- water. It isn't the city water you might be used to. It does have a yellowish cast because there are many tannins in it. The water has been tested, and is fine to drink. You may want to bring your own drinking water if are used to chlorinated water.
We love our rural neck of the woods! Surrounded by lakes, beaches and hiking opportunities abound! See the guidebook for a listing of our favorite spots. Our immediate neighbors consist of farmers, artists, a college professor, bee keepers, a massage therapist, a chef, an energy conservationist and a professional star-gazer_ truly! Our neighborhood is spread across many miles, but we are look out for each other and are friends.
  • everything was great and exactly as described. heidi went the extra mile and had jam and wine waiting for us since it was our honeymoon. the cabin was amazing and we enjoyed everything about it. i loved waking up getting the fire going, making some coffee and sitting on the porch and enjoying the scenery. we also loved the sleeping loft and the bed was very comfortable. the hot tub was great and close enough that we go run in and out from the cabin into it. the only thing i wouldve liked is an axe so that i could've chopped the wood into smaller pieces.

    Spencer2015-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at The Cabin and it was great. Just like the listing states, very cozy with the wood-burning stove and the peaceful scenery. This really is a wonderful space. There are so many little special details like the tree branch curtain rods and the stained glass artwork that make this place unique. It feels secluded but it was only about a 20 minute drive into Charlevoix. And the fruit preserves the farm produces are delicious. I recommend trying some during your stay. We will definitely be putting this place on our list of vacation spots.

  • Rocky Top Farm changed my life! This idealic cabin located on a cherry orchard was exactly what I needed to wind down from the chaos of the city. We had a blast hiking through the orchards, laying under the cherry trees, picking fresh berries, listening to the bird songs, grilling fresh caught fish from John Cross Fisheries in Charlevoix, skipping stones on the pond, and really living in nature. Heidi and Mike were very accommodating, and were responsive to all of our questions- they are the real deal. If I were to do it all over again, I would plan a five day get away to Rocky Top. I would bring all the food, water and supplies I'd need for the whole stay, and I would never leave!!! Thanks Heidi for an amazing stay! I can't wait to come back!

    Lauren2014-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in The Cooper's cabin at Rockytop Farms for three nights in March, and it was absolutely magical. Starting with our drive north, we enjoyed the change of scenery from Chicago to Norther Michigan. Heidi welcomed us into the cabin immediately upon our arrival, and answered all of the questions we had. She gave us directions to a cool hiking spot, and gave us recommendations for local food. There are many breweries in the area, so we busied ourselves during the day by testing the local beers. While at the cabin we visited Shorts Brewing, Right Brained Brewery, and Petosky Brewing. In the evening we enjoyed cooking dinner in the cabin while listening to "The Bear". The kitchen was stocked with spices, oils, and cook-ware. We even used some yummy rhubarb-chutney made at Rockytop Farms on a stir-fry; it elevated the flavor to delightful levels. We were also given a jar of marmalade as a welcoming gift... it made each morning special with delicious marmalade toast. After dinner we worked on puzzles, taste-tested more beers, and dipped into the hot-tub located right outside of the cabin. The beauty of the night sky in Northern Michigan is unreal, and the hot-tub made viewing a unique experience. One night we even went on a little hike through the Cooper's property; the moon was so bright that we didn't need flashlights. Overall, the cabin was the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. The Cooper's are wonderful hosts, and we hope to visit them again sometime soon (Website hidden by Airbnb)

  • Heidi was absolutely wonderful! She was extremely responsive and made the experience very easy. This listing lived up to its idyllic description, it was the perfect rustic weekend getaway.

    Jack2015-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a completely relaxing cabin! We loved the scenery from every window, the fireplace and the hot tub. This was exactly what we were looking forward to and we hope to be back!

  • LOVE THIS PLACE!!! We rented out the treehouse and the cabin for our memorial day wedding. The wedding was held on the farm and my husband and I stayed in the little cabin while our two best friends stayed in the treehouse. First of the property is AMAZING! I ran two mornings through the fields and it is absolutely stunning. Both places are comfortable and absolutely perfect for a peaceful retreat. If you just wanted to get away from it all staying within either of the properties would be the a perfect way to do it. The host Heidi and her family are as good as they come. Heidi was absolutely the best contact for wedding stuff and was amazing and helping us achieve our simple picnic style wedding and went way above and beyond what you would expect for a host for a DIY wedding, I cannot began to thank them enough. If you are in the area and looking for a little piece of nature heaven, stay here. We loved it, our wedding guests loved it and possibly most importantly or dogs did too. Thank you so much! I hope our paths can cross again!

    Krystina2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our stay at the cabin was wonderful. Heidi and her family were helpful, inviting, and overall wonderful hosts. The cabin was comfortable and relaxing, and the farm was incredible. We can't wait to return!

Craftsman style, 2 bedroom cabin with large windows overlooking the designated "National Wild and Scenic" Pere Marquette River. Peaceful and cozy craftsman style cabin in the woods overlooking the Pere Marquette river. Large windows on the riverside allow for a spectacular view of the river and lovely sunrises. The cabin has central AC and central heat, but there is NO TV or Internet/WiFi. The kitchen is well stocked with most cooking essentials. There is a tea kettle, various coffee pots, coffee bean grinder, dishes, pans, small refrigerator, and small functioning vintage stove. Freshly laundered bed linens, blankets and towels are provided. The town grocery store is conviently located less than a mile from the cabin. Both bedrooms have a full size mattresses. There is also a futon in the living room that could be used for additional guests. There is a 2 person tandem kayak, canoe and fishing poles are available at the cabin and are free for guest use. The burn ring by the river and a fire pit on the property that can be used for bonfires or roasting marshmallows. A door code enables guests to check themselves in after 3pm. We are available by text/email or phone during their stay if there any problems or questions. The cabin is located in Baldwin which is a small rural town that has very limited attractions or resturants, but makes for quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Cabin is located on Pere Marquette river which is a designated "National Wild and Scenic" river and is world renowned for excellent fishing for rainbow trout, brown trout and Steelhead. The river section directly in front of the cabin is open for fishing only during the last weekend in April to end of September (trout season). It is also a very popular river for canoes and kayakers since it is steady and considerably clear which is perfect for paddlers with basic skills. The cabin is located about a 2 minute drive from the closest 'open all year round' river location. The cabin is 1.5 hour drive from Traverse City (Wine tasting, beaches, cherry orchards) and/or Grand Rapids MI (Art prize, Fredrick Meijer sculpture Gardens). It is also 45 Min. drive from Ludington which has miles of public beach on Lake Michigan. Pleae note there is a approx. 50 yard walk from the driveway to the cabin. Smoking inside the cabin is not allowed. Pets are ok with the following considerations: no wet dogs in the cabin (most dogs love swimming in the river), no pets on the furniture and up to date flea control is appreciated. The cabin is located 3.5 miles from the start of the Pere Marquette Rail Trail which is a excellent mountain biking and hiking trail.
The cabin is located in Lake County which is over half state (Pere Marquette State Forest) and federal land (Manistee National Forest) with endless hiking opportunities. The cabin is located very close to the North Country National Scenic Trail. There are multiple sections of the North Country trail that allow mountain biking and also the Big M trail is nearby. The cabin is located near the small town of Baldwin which has very limited attractions and no notable restaurants therefore this is not the place to come for man made sightseeing that is nearby.
  • We had a truly magical weekend at this riverfront cabin! We took the kayak out on the river and saw so many salmon. We sat on the back deck and watched birds flying back and forth and the autumn leaves fall. It was a wonderful experience in every way. The cabin is peaceful and simply beautiful. Loved staying here and hope to be back again soon.

  • Jade and Russ were so great and easy to communicate with! We spent our mini-moon here and loved being off the gird after a busy wedding week. The cabin was just as described if not even better and so charming! We were there the tail end of fishing season, but did see two salmon swimming upstream which was fun to see :) Would definitely recommend for those looking to unplug in a beautiful forrest surrounding.

    Emily2016-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Russ and Jade's cabin was a truly wonderful experience. The cabin itself has been constructed with the most loving details, and the location is beautiful and peaceful. Everything was meticulously clean and well-stocked. Russ and Jade made sure to check in electronically with us periodically to make sure everything was great. We will definitely be back!

    Kassandra2015-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed staying at Russ and Jade's place so much. It is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature. We stayed there for four days after a very busy time in New York. Everything was exactly as described and we even received a gift upon check-in. We can truly recommend the cabin to other travellers. Thank you Russ and Jade!

    John2015-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is amazing. From the river view, to the fly tying desk, to the great collection of fishing books, it is the perfect place to post up for a few days fishing on the Pere Marquette. After a day on the water, it has everything you need - a nice bathroom with a hot shower, a grill to cook up something delicious, and a number of great spots to kick back and relax. It is also clear that the owners really love the place and have put a lot of thought into getting all the details right. I really enjoyed my stay here and hope to make it back again before too long.

    Daniel2012-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views out the great windows of the river scape! The very custom and unique woodworking and craftsmanship of the cabin made are stay all the more enjoyable! Great hiking and adventures to be happen the surrounding area!

  • Jade and Russ were perfect hosts! Exactly as advertised. Amazing location- back porch overlooking the pm river, and only a couple miles to numerous trail heads in the manistee national forest. My days were filled with hiking, kayaking, and cooking in the fully equipped cabin. Very comfortable and private. Overall a great experience. Thanks again!

  • Jade and Russ, We had a wonderful time last weekend at the cabin. As we walked in, each person said, "WOW". The place is great and the view is beautiful. It was exactly as advertised. We loved the espresso machine and the lovely bedding. We were impressed by the decor and great antique books. We loved the kitchen and all the great stuff in it. We fished the whole time and had trout for dinner. Yum. We cannot wait to go back.

Glass surrounded Love Shack. Gas lights and heat. Finnish built wood burning sauna. Large screened in room. Total privacy.
Beautiful wooded site. Nearest neighbor 1/2 mile away. 500 feet of Lake Superior privacy
  • Had a fantastic time staying here. The view is stunning. We were lucky enough to see a 45 min long northern lights show the first night! The screened in porch is worth it's weight in gold on the buggy days, not to mention great for containing 1 year old girls. The cabin is very comfortable and has everything you need. Outhouse was clean and only a short walk down a cool trail along the ridge. The sauna was wonderful in the evenings. Plenty of firewood was provided. Upon arrival, a large branch had fallen at the entrance gate. Bruce and Karie came out with a chainsaw and fixed the problem asap. It was nice chatting with them, really cool people. We highly recommend this place!

    Daniel2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • An extremely unique spot and we had an amazing time! Hosts were very accurate and communicative about check in and about the property. The sauna was an awesome experience, the cabin was cozy and the view was breathtaking. Would love to stay again!

  • Great stay.

    Erik2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, secluded, romantic cabin. Its like upscale camping. Most likely better for the warmer months, but gorgeous and cozy either way!

    Joel2017-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • A trip to the Love Shack should be your utmost priority. It is even better than the pictures. The cabin is cozy, and there is plenty of space outside to stretch out and enjoy the view. The sauna is easy to use and you still have a view. Even the outhouse has a view! We are homesick for the love shack already.

    Corinna2018-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • I believe we just had some terrible luck that logging work was going on during our time at the love shack sunday- weds. I don’t see any other reviews mentioning it. I was very surprised (not to mention terrified when I first heard screeching saws while sleeping) and sad to not get the rest and peace and quiet we were expecting. We drove 8 hrs to get there and planned this earlier this year- so the excitement was very high! This place is as gorgeous as shown and remote and logging noises are out of the control of the owner but I would like to recommend to other light sleepers to bring solid ear plugs to avoid the risk of losing sleep if the loggers are there still. It started at 5am in the dark our first night there- a very loud constant sawing noise behind us and flashing lights at the end of the driveway and went on until we left the cabin by afternoons to drive into Marquette. We were shocked they’d start work that early and in the dark. My ear plugs which I happen to bring on every vacation hardly blocked it out. The crew was nearby every night/morning and it just simply made me sad -the ‘peace and quiet’ part faded away. If you’re trying to relax during the daytime there’s a constant construction noise in the background :( At least by dinnertime we got our privacy each night!

    Lydia2018-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! We loved every second of our stay. I'm sure this place is wonderful during the warm season, but it's beauty during the winter is breathtaking! Where else can you see the stars and the sunrise from your cozy bed? We recommend this to anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of nature and to unwind. We hope to go back someday!

    Krista2018-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed three nights here, and had a wonderful time. The view is magnificent. When we first arrived it was so quiet that we were getting creeped out, but we quickly got over it. If you are looking for a vacation spot to get away from it all and still be comfortable, this is the place.

Log cabin on Grand Traverse Bay in beautiful Suttons Bay. Private beach. Super kid and dog friendly (extra dog fee applies). Grill, swim, read, cook, walk, hike, bike, wine taste and more...
Beautiful, fully-equipped beachfront log cabin on West Grand Traverse Bay. Lee Point is the place to be! Sleeps at least 8 (max 12) across 3 floors with 3 full bathrooms, washer/dryer, full kitchen, decorative fireplace, etc. The Beach: 150' of private West Bay beachfront for your use. Water is shallow (great for little swimmers/dogs) for a ways out. Beach toys, a few chairs and towels provided. We suggest aqua socks for little children given our own experience! There is a fire pit on the small bluff overlooking the water as well. The house: This is a traditional log cabin that is fully outfitted (towels, linen, cookware, etc) and furnished for comfort and a Northern Michigan vacation-style. 3 floors of space to sprawl, relax and enjoy. There's a very private deck off the back of the home. Linens and towels provided. Lower level bathroom completely remodeled and updated in December 2016. The indoor fireplace is only decorative. (please note!) The upstairs jacuzzi is permanently retired and not in use. Neither of these features are advertised as perks at the cabin, so please don't be disappointed that they are not available! Both are for the safety of our guests! *We are unable to accommodate weddings or special events due to insurance liability and facility requirements. Dogs welcome with an additional $25/day fee payable 1 week before check in. Please inquire with questions!
Location: located half mile off M-22, Lee Point is a quiet street made up of beaches, houses and local neighbors & vacationers. It's friendly, private and beautiful. It's a short trip into the charming village of Suttons Bay, and very close to the hustle and bustle of Traverse City and all it has to offer. We're a stone's throw from Black Star Farms as well! The house is located directly across from the private beach. Lee Point Road is generally very calm, but does pick up in the summer due to tourists and cherry season, so it is advised that children have an adult to cross over to the beach.
  • Our family really enjoyed staying at Colleen's place - it was warm and cozy on a chilly weekend. The neighborhood was quiet snd pretty along the bay - would love to see this in summer!

  • Beautiful home in a great location! My family and I loved our long weekend at this charming log cabin. There was plenty of room for the 8 of us and couldn't have asked for a more perfect location. The private beach across the street was clean and quiet. We also loved the firepit and chairs on the edge of the beach. We also appreciated all the information Colleen left in the kitchen for us to get ideas for wineries/dinner near by. We look forward to another opportunity to stay at this beautiful home! Thank you so much, Colleen!

  • Our New Year's Eve in Suttons Bay was fabulous. The house is just as beautiful in person as in the photos. Colleen was a wonderful host. She responded to questions very timely and was very accommodating. The house is fully furnished, and had everything we needed, and more. Definitely will have to come back to this house in the summer to get the full experience with the bay. This was my first Airbnb experience, and with hosts like Colleen, it won't be my last!

  • My family and I stayed here for a week on vacation from Chicago. Location is perfect, secluded quite street and amazing view of the bay. Great proximity to Traverse City, Suttons Bay, Leland, hiking trails and a bunch of wineries only minutes away. Exceptional lake access with sandy beach and shallow water pretty far out. The cabin is spacious, clean and comfortable. No A/C but the lake breeze and fans kept the house very cool. Nice big kitchen and dinning area that is great for family meals. We stayed here with our 14mo old and it was very accommodating with a full size crib, pack-n-play, jogging stroller, high chair, lots of indoor toys, beach toys and books! This place has all the essentials, no need to fill the car with big bulky items. Colleen was extremely helpful leading up to the stay with quick replies to all messages. Overall, a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. We would visit again in a heart beat. Thanks Colleen!

The house is bright and sunny and is surrounded by lots of mature trees and is located on a quaint and quiet dirt road. Two bedrooms, one has a queen size bed the other has a double. One bath with a Jaccuzzi bathtub. A clean simple well equipped kitchen, brand new stove and refrigerator. Farmers markets in Union Pier and Three Oaks on weekends. Greenbush Brewery in Sawyer. The cottage is close to many quaint small towns. Three Oaks, approximately six miles from the cabin offers antique shopping, galleries, a distillery, movie theater and several restaurants. Sawyer is home to Greenbush Brewery, and Mesa Luna a restaurant which features home grown fare, a grocery store, a clothing store in a former fire station and Sawyer Garden Shop, featuring, fresh produce, a great wine selection and gourmet foods.
  • We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Floyd's. The home feels very cozy and while it's nicely tucked away in tiny wooded neighborhood, the downtown area was just a few miles away and easily accessible. Entertainment wise, there are plenty of books and boardgames and also a TV. We spent most of our time sitting around the fire chatting and listening to music. Also, we were able to cook a huge turkey dinner with everything the cottage had. Everything was very clean and organized. And best of all, it's only about an hour and a half from Chicago. We're already calling this "our vacation spot."

  • The cottage was amazing place! It was so cozy and the space was very inviting. Linda and Floyd were able to accommodate and provide everything we were looking for. It definitely worked for a winter getaway and I can't even image what it will be like in the summertime. Will definitely be checking it out!

  • Really fun and interesting place to stay.

  • We had a lovely week here!

    Heidi2017-07-01T00:00:00Z

  • We chose to stay at Floyd's Cottage for a few days following our wedding. We needed a quiet, peaceful place to relax and rest after a hectic but wonderful wedding weekend. This place delivered. The cottage is tucked away in the woods, and aside from the occasional train (tracks run behind the house), all we heard were birds and crickets. The house is full of Floyd's funky art and furniture, and it was well stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Linda and Floyd were both gracious hosts. The power was out when we arrived, and Linda showed up 5 minutes later with candles, a flashlight, and a phone call to the power company (power was back on within a few hours and stayed on). Floyd also kindly invited us into his workshop for a tour on our way out. The workshop is adjacent to the house so expect the occasional car in the driveway and to see Floyd puttering now and then in the yard. We spent our days at the beach - Warren Dunes are 10 minutes down the road, or there is a tiny public access beach directly across the Red Arrow Highway. Cozy nights on the couch near the wood burning stove.

  • If you’re looking for a roomy place to stay on the lake this is it! It was very easy to find. This place is close to everything. There’s plenty of room in this home for families to relax and enjoy. I wish we could’ve stayed longer! We used the gas grill and cooked our own meal! I hope we can come back again!

  • Harriet was a fantastic host. She was very prompt in communication and extremely helpful with local recommendations. The house itself was such a wonderful retreat - right on the lake with ample indoor and outdoor space to relax. The bedrooms were private and comfortable, the living areas spacious and yet cozy, and the kitchen stocked for any meal you'd want to prepare! We were only in town for a night but I'd love to go back with some friends in warmer weather for a nice weekend away. Thank you, Harriet!

  • Great location!

    Cristina2017-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was the perfect getaway for myself, wife, two adult sons and my daughter-in-law. We all came in from two coasts and across the globe. The perfect place for a family reunion. Harriet was attentive, yet left us to our own. We will be going back! Cozy spot on the lake.

    Kevin2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house was fabulous and perfectly suited for our stay. We were there after a big snow and Harriet ensured that the drive was shoveled before our arrival. The large garage was perfect for getting out of the weather while loading/unloading. (Though we didn't use the summer supplies, the garage was well-stocked with bikes, wagon, lawn furniture, sand tots, floats and many other useful items!) The kitchen was well-stocked and had plenty of dishes to feed a HUGE crowd! We cooked dinner and found the kitchen to have everything we needed. The sun porch would be amazing to use the in warmer months - beautiful views of the lake and dock. The bedrooms (and bathrooms) were all spacious and beds were comfortable. The views from the upstairs bedrooms were incredible. The sunrise over the frozen lake was lovely! Highly recommend for a winter retreat but really hope to come back for a summer stay, as well because it would be an incredible spot summer beach vacation.

  • Harriet's place was beautiful! Great location by the beach and bike paths. Lots of room to hang out and everything was immaculate! Super host!

    Janet2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our host Harriet couldn't have been nicer. Her place was beautiful and very clean. She was reachable to answer any questions we had. Wonderful neighborhood, with a great local place for dinner nearby called the Ottawa Beach Inn. It was only a short drive to the Tulip Festival. If I'm ever in this area of Michigan, I will definitely look to stay here again. Many Thanks Harriet.

Scandinavian modern home within a wooded setting, convenient to the towns of Leland, Suttons Bay, Northport, and Lake Leelanau. Walk to lake access, hike the cherry orchards, explore local wineries, distilleries and farm markets.
The house comfortably sleeps 6 people, there are two queen beds and two twin beds. There are two full baths and a powder room. The master bath has the soaking tub while the second floor bath has a large shower. The simple euro style kitchen is well equipped for cooking and serving, complete with convection oven, gas cooktop, drawer dishwasher, and refridgerator/freezer. The windows and location gives the feeling of being in a very comfortable treehouse.
The Wayfarer is located between the neighboring home, a wooded area and cherry orchards. Within a short walk there is a very nice public access to Lake Leelanau, a great spot for daily swimming and sunsets. The public access even has a boat dock for meeting up with boating friends.
  • Property was exactly as described - comfortable, well-appointed, and contemporary. I enjoyed my two nights here and would happily book again!

  • Sean's home is beautifully designed and well considered. We love that it is dog friendly so we could have a true "family" getaway. The house is secluded, but only 5 mins from a grocery store and a short drive to our favorite spots like Hop Lot and Tandem Ciders. Great stay! Thanks, Sean!

    Beth2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • House was perfect and as described. Sean was a great host - did not interchange with him a lot, which was fine. He did send a welcome email when we arrived to see if we had any questions.

  • What an amazing house. This was the perfect place for a little Winter trip with 6 friends. This house is so close to everything we needed and most of the time we didn't leave. The kitchen was fully equipped with anything we needed... Perfect for cooking big family-style dinners. The light in this house is break taking. Sean was beyond great- so quick with any questions we had and recommended great spots to eat and explore. Can't wait to plan for our next trip back!

    Meg2015-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • I just stayed at the Wayfarer Treehouse with my family last weekend and we had the best time! The house was extremely clean with beautiful views and exactly what we were looking for. Also, Sean was the most accommodating and generous host we ever could have hoped for. I would most definitely rent this home again and highly recommend it to anyone who asks. We all had such a great time that we actually bought a Guest Book in Suttons Bay and left notes for future guests (my Aunt even wrote a poem) :)

  • Staying here was a wonderful experience. With the fresh snow covering the property it was a beautiful winter wonderland. Karl responded quickly to every communication, and went above and beyond to make our stay there great. Would stay there again in an instant!

    Colleen2018-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Karl's place was absolutely perfect! Four friends and I stayed here from a girls weekend getaway. The house is centered around a ton of of nature and surrounded by wineries. Everything was perfect and all necessities were provided. We will definitely stay again if we visit again!

    Kayla2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • The space was clean, very well laid out, and easy to find. The land was beautiful and we loved exploring it. Karl was a great host! We met him when we left and he was super sweet and fun to talk to to!

    Emily2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Karl's was great! Karl was very accommodating and the place itself was very nicely kept. I only wish we had more time to spend around the house on our short stay. Definitely recommend staying here

  • Stayed with a few girlfriends and had a great time, the house is very nice and we were all impressed. I'll be back again!

    Lori2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was peaceful and lovely which is exactly what we were looking for. The house is situated in the middle of beautiful woods. The house is airy with great windows. Super clean. We felt very safe and comfortable. Karl, the host, is super nice, helpful and responsive.

    Dunja2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Karl's home is tucked away in the woods which is serene and quiet. The home is well-appointed, comfortable and welcoming. Karl is very easy to work with and a great communicator.

    Michelle2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed Karl's home surrounded by woods. It is remote enough to have privacy and quiet but within 15 min of several things to do. We really enjoyed the sunset at Weko Beach park and dining at a couple of the brewerys (The Public House and Greenbush Brewery). Karl is available most of the time but very respectful when it come to space and privacy. His home is very clean and comfortable. The only thing that caused some frustration was the Internet service. I don't think there is anything that can be done about it with the location of the home but if you are heavily reliant on it for work or entertainment it would be difficult. I somewhat enjoyed having more of my teenagers' attention because of the Internet issues but trying to stream a program through chromecast to watch as a family was practically impossible. Karl has a wide area of land with a pond and fire pit to enjoy the outdoors and there are several wineries in the area. I would recommend this place to others.

The City borders picturesque Round Lake, Lake Michigan, and Lake Charlevoix. Charlevoix provides residents and visitors with opportunities to golf, boat, sail, ski, skateboard, listen to music and enjoy beaches or parks.
  • The cottage is in a great location in Charlevoix. Walkable to downtown and to the beach, very quiet spot but with lots to do close. From Charlevoix it is also very easy to drive to nearby towns like Petoskey or Traverse City. The cottage was a very cozy, two bedroom home - perfect for a couple or small group.

  • Justin and Amber's cottage was wonderful! Not only was it welcoming and cozy, but it was also very clean and accurately described here. We loved the back porch and all of the windows. Although we love to explore new places, the cottage definitely made us want to visit Charlevoix and stay here again. Thanks for everything!

    Elizabeth2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • It was a clean and cozy little(actually surprisingly roomy) place. Justin was very helpful in helping us settle in and was always a phone call or a text message away. It's very short walk(couple blocks) from the water and the town shops. Made for a great weekend getaway. Highly recommend it!

  • Old but well kept, clean place within walking distance to the lake, shops and restaurants. Host not overly personable. Last night was very cold because the thermostat was off and there was no heating- the thermostat is controlled wirelessly by the host. Good experience overall besides the cold last night

Beautiful land, rustic, comfortable home, quiet & private! Take a hot tub at sunset looking out over property, cook in our great kitchen; have a campfire at night. Oh yeah, really nice bedrooms w/sliding glass doors. Listen to the wind thru pines.
Our four-season dwelling is on 4 acres of gardens, pines, and ponds. One small Japanese pond, and a really big pond out back which goes up and down with the river. That's the Galien River which is at the west end of the property. A very comfortable hot tub (2 seater and great jets!) is just outside one of the bedrooms on the porch with a lovely view of the land. It feels like more than 4 acres because there are blueberry fields all around and you can't see or hear any of the neighbors. We have 40 mature organic blueberry bushes ourselves which are free for the picking from July-Sept. There is a pet fee of $20/night. The home has 2 bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a Queen size bed and a small sofa bed. The other bedroom has a trundle bed with 2 twin beds that can connect or not. In the living room is a long sofa bed that folds down to become a full bed. Really comfortable. We also have two Queen size raised air beds which can be set up in the living room, in a big a 4-person tent outside in the summer, or on the porch. 2 bathrooms, one with a marble walk-in shower and the other with an old fashioned laid-back bathtub. And- a fantastic record collection of Classic Jazz and Modern Classical albums! Home has a beautiful kitchen with a big stainless steel refrigerator, great stove, lots of cooking tools and lots of space for creating great meals. Plus a few Weber BBQ's outside for grilling. All rooms have sliding glass doors looking out to the whole property. The big screen porch (14'x26') is great. We eat and even watch TV out there, which is a LEDHD TV. (Streaming available) - Or play the piano? The house is all wireless, ceiling fans in all the rooms and on porch, and air conditioning/central heat. Great for a romantic and peaceful getaway, a small wedding, honeymoon, family reunions or small retreat groups. Three Oaks is only 90 minutes from Chicago in beautiful Harbor Country, with sparkling beaches, art galleries, great restaurants, dunes and hiking trails. Sometimes we love the winter even more than the summer out here...with the cozy fireplace and tons of firewood at your disposal- or use the fire pit and have a campfire outside. You can even cross-country ski right out back and down the little slope to the river! You will not want to leave when you're here. No one does.
Since I've been here for almost 30 years, I know all my neighbors and we're all good friends. I've always felt very safe in this neighborhood. Everyone looks out for each other. (It's a good way to live.)
  • Donna has created a special, enchanted place. My friends and I spent hours in front of the fire when we weren't cooking feasts in the spacious kitchen or enjoying the snowfall from the hot tub. We also loved the cross country ski paths about 30 minutes away. Donna was a gracious, thoughtful host. Can't wait to get back and see it in summer!

    Sara2014-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Donna was wonderful since the moment I booked . Very quick to respond, and very helpful . Her home was one of the coolest places I have had an opportunity to stay at. We were there for a bachlorette party and had about 8 ladies with us. More than enough space and I was very relaxing and enjoyed our stay very much . We all had a great time and did not want to head back home . The home is in a very private area which just makes it that much more special . Donna was amazing and her home was very memorable .

    Daisy2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Donna's house. The house was full of love, character, and charm. We spent a few days playing board games, cooking dinners, relaxing in the hot tub, and exploring the nearby Warren Dunes State Park. We highly recommend Donna's house for anyone wanting to escape the city for a few days!

  • The Blueberry House is a great getaway with a lovely yard and a great hostess. It's a quick drive from beaches, hiking trails and wineries. It's great for a couple, a few friends, or even a family.

  • Staying at Donna's home was amazing. It was incredibly relaxing and comfortable. We spent a few days there over New Years and wished that it could have been longer. The house was warm and cozy after walks in the snowy yard with our dog (who loved it even more than we did) and the fireplace was spectacular. There is no better place to watch the snow fall than from the hot tub! Donna was incredibly accommodating, even calling to make sure we weren't snowed in on our last day. I've stayed in a number of locations in the Union Pier/New Buffalo area and this was by far the most relaxing stay we've had in years. A few specifics: the kitchen is fully stocked with all of the cooking pots/pans/tools you would need (along with a crock pot, microwave and other kitchen tools). The bathrooms are wonderful (while you can't see it in the picture, the shower in the tiled bathroom is a walk-in shower with a nice seat as well). The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable and the bedding kept us very warm and cozy on those cold nights. I would highly recommend this location to anyone and hope that we'll be returning soon!

    Emily2014-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful weekend getaway for my husband and I. We loved reading and relaxing on the porch. The kitchen was great! I might have to steal the design of the kitchen wall. The hot tub was a nice way to end the evenings, and the bed was comfortable. Donna has a great eye for design, the house feels wonderful and inviting. The blueberries in the back yard and the birds in the mornings, made the stay even better. The skeeters were a little crazy but Donna did us a solid and left some bug fogger, which kept them at bay for a while. Overall we had a great time! Check out Greenbush brewery right down the street!

    Shawnee2014-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Donna has a very special place. We won't forget picking blueberries, saying good morning to the frogs, sitting by the fire pit, and all the interesting and cool touches in every nook of the house. Our dog liked it so much, he broke out of the house while we were gone and went for a joyride, then headed to Donna's trailer. She and her dog herded him back to the house. And she texted me to tell me all was well. Appreciated all her help and attention.

    Whitney2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Donna was a Joy to meet! I wish we could have "hit the town" together! She was very accommodating with some last minute details of my every changing work schedule! I was happy to have been able to stay at her oasis in the country while I was in town for work, as it helped make my stay in the area relaxing and enjoyable! We were able to easily communicate before and during my stay! The has a Great layout, and I enjoyed walks down to the creek and soaks in the hot tub! If i have future work in the area, i would hope to be able to stay again!

This second- story, custom built cabin in the middle of a cherry orchard has huge windows that allow for great natural light. Polished concrete countertops and floors with radiant heat. Sleeps 6. One bath. Shared hot tub. Large decks. Basic kitchen. Please read this listing completely.
Up north at its best! The Treehouse sits on a pond among the birch and pines in a working cherry orchard. Built by my husband and me, with a whole lot of help from many friends, it clearly has love in the details. Large windows bring the daylight in and allow for dreamy star- gazing - maybe even the northern lights! Six person outdoor hot tub is shared with the cabin also on property. Locally made art. Big garden. Access to trails for hiking, groomed cross- country ski trails, and mountain biking all around the orchard and ponds. Minutes to Lake Michigan and Torch Lake beaches. The cabin makes a great getaway for couples and families. There is a sleeping loft which can sleep four and a private bedroom which sleeps two. Limited kitchen has a smart oven, countertop two burner range, microwave, sink, coffee maker, electric frying pan and refrigerator. The Treehouse can be rented in conjunction with The Cabin at Rocky Top Farms. Towels and linens are provided. You must have four- wheel drive to access the Treehouse in the winter, or plan to hike the 1/4 mile from the barn. Please note! This is a cabin and not a traditional treehouse! We don't mean to mislead with the name- The Treehouse is what we have always called it. *Please read this listing entirely!
We adore our very rural neighborhood! Just a couple miles from both Torch Lake and Lake Michigan-beaches abound! Ask us about our favorite spots. Hiking and paddling opportunities are plentiful. We are not far from XC, downhill skiing and snowboarding in the winter. Rocky Top Farms is centrally located between Traverse City and Petoskey. We are located just off 31N. Our nearest towns are Elk Rapids, Bellaire, and Charlevoix, and East Jordan. The closest villages are Torch Lake, Ellsworth, and Central Lake. There are so many things to check out while visiting- or- just laze around the farm!
  • The house was wonderful, very clean and with great touches of a northern Michigan log cabin. The location is great to visit surrounding areas: Boyne city Charlevoix, Traverse City..... The house is surrounded with beautiful nature and cherry orchards. Its nice place for vacation. You can really rest and have fun with your friends and family. It was very nice and we want to go back in summer time again. We loved it.

  • My wife and I loved the treehouse! We had such a lovely stay out on the beautiful farmland of Rocky Top. There was more space than the two of us needed, and Heidi took care of us and answered our questions promptly, and gave us such wonderful privacy. We would stay there again. We especially loved the hot tub on the property, used it every day of our stay.

  • My fiancé and I stayed at the Treehouse while scouting wedding venues in the Traverse City area. The location was just as described and quite beautiful. It would be a perfect place to go if you're looking to get away from the hustle/bustle of the city but still maintain a lot of comforts.

    John2015-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • The two of us stayed in the Treehouse for the weekend. The pictures do not do it justice...lol. It is an amazing, magical place that should be kept a secret! The wood-working is absolutely stunning...including the vaulted ceiling! The furnishings are very cozy & quaint, with just the right special touches added to make the stay that much more memorable. From the knockout Cherry Butter waiting for us, to the lemongrass soap in the (Website hidden by Airbnb) truly shows Heidi & Mike’s commitment to providing the best possible experience. Beds are very comfy, and the radiant heat coming through the floor is a miracle for your feet, especially in the middle of winter! Lol The mounted, flat-screen tv in the main bedroom, allows for easy lounging & watching movies. Tons of books, toys, games, & to enjoy. It is also very well shrouded by trees to keep the separation between the 2 rental sites. When you are there, it is so quiet & peaceful, you feel as though you are the only one in the world...& yet somehow connected to all of it! BELIEVE THE REVIEWS!! TYVM for a great time...we WILL be back! ; )

  • We had a really lovely time at the tree house. Heidi was a wonderful host - taking to time to send us tips on places to visit in the area and travel info before we left the UK which was a big help for us planning our trip. The house is very special in an absolutely beautiful setting - such a relaxing place to be. While we were there Heidi and her family were busy harvesting the cherries from the orchard and it was amazing to see that happening. The house is really comfortable and incredibly light and airy, with everything you could possibly want to feel comfortable. Heidi made us feel very welcome and it certainly is a very special place - we were there for just under a week but it felt like a much longer break - the atmosphere worked its magic and helped us to relax and get into a different rhythm which is just what we needed - it was an unforgettable holiday and we've been telling everyone back home about beautiful Michigan.

    Jill2014-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Tree House was incredible! Warm and cozy yet bright and cheery with tons of natural light. I'm used to camping and roughing it so this, to me was a luxury experience. A perfect getaway for the winter, can't wait to come back again.

    Sarah2015-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We contacted Heidi as we neared the location and she was quick to respond with details on how to find the location. The house was all set for us, warm and cozy. We loved the house, the property and the seclusion it offered. We NEVER left the property. I made sure I packed plenty of food and drink (did not see much shopping that would be convenient for supplies). We did arrive during a pretty awesome snow storm (which only added to the beauty of our surroundings, and we left in a storm as well. Tree Top Farms was prompt in making sure we were plowed out and able to get on our way back home (which was hard to do, I could have stayed there forever). I do think next time I would like to rent the little cabin. the Treehouse was very spacious and lovely, but the little cabin is just that.....little. I poked a peek in the window before the other guests arrived and it looks simply adorable. AND it is steps from the hot tub. Our trek to the tub (which is still in close proximity to the Treehouse) was fine on the 1st night but night 2? Gale force winds and blowing snow..SOOO worth it. We had a great visit, would definitely return and want to send a big thank you to Heidi for her help, the biscuits and jam (delicious by the way) and I hope to return to you soon. I highly recommend Rocky Top Farms for a quiet and beautiful get away. It is perfect!

  • Heidi was very prompt in returning any questions we had upon arrival and throughout our stay. She gave us recommendations of dog-friendly beaches in the area and was generally super friendly and responsive. We loved the place-- it was very comfortable, bright, sunny, and well-equipped for a family vacation (including toys for kids of all ages!) We would definitely stay there again!

Charming loft space in quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to downtown shopping and dining. Close to beaches, ski resorts and cultural attractions. Over detached garage--very private--come and go as you please. Perfect for couple or (very) small family.
Very clean. Simply and tastefully furnished. Plenty of natural light, wood flooring. One bedroom with queen-size bed. Sofa (not a pull-out) in the sitting room can provide extra sleep space. No kitchen, but space is furnished with a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster. Flat-screen TV. Cable and wifi access. Please note the Loft is above our detached garage and is accessed via two short flights of stairs.
Please visit the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce website for more information on the area.
  • Andrea is a wonderful host. She helped us get checked in, showed us around the loft, gave us great suggestions on where we could visit, and then let us explore the town for ourselves. The loft is private, clean, cozy, and family friendly with a TV, DVDs, children's books, and games. Only a few minutes away from beautiful main street, where there are fun cafes, stores, and restaurants. Lake Superior is right off of main street and there is a pier you can walk down. Loved our time here.

    Tori2015-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea contacted us in both a timely and helpful manner. From the moment we arrived, she was very warm and and offered us any assistance we needed. The Loft is just perfect. Four of us stayed and it was cozy without being cramped. The location was ideal and we rented bicycles which sufficed for all our local needs. I would whole heartedly recommend this airbnb to anyone. Andrea just made the whole thing that much more perfect.

    Christopher2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Andrea's loft. She was very pleasant and accommodating. The cozy loft was exactly perfect for my family after spending our days on the slopes. We will definitely be staying here again. Highly recommend!

Welcome to Esther House. We took a 1930's catalog vacation cabin and turned it into an inviting 2 bedroom retreat home. We are steps to the Spring Lake Beach and Village, bike paths, a 2.5 mile bike or car ride to the beaches of Grand Haven.
This charming, fully rehabbed 2 bedroom home makes for the perfect getaway, and the best alternative to a Hotel/Motel in the area. Although the footprint of Esther house is small, we offer 1100 sq ft of comfort over the basement, main level and lofted bedroom, designed with easy and comfortable living in mind. A fully stocked custom kitchen with high-end appliances, granite breakfast bar and an open plan to the cozy living/dining room. Small dinette table seats four. The living room has a comfortable sofa, reading chair and 42" TV. No cable, but its hooked up to stream all your favorites. In the basement we have a brand new bedroom with a queen sized bed, nightstands and dresser. A separate utility area with washer/dryer. Nice and quite fenced back yard with a cement patio.
The home is located in historic Strawberry Pointe area of Spring Lake, Michigan. The area is littered with these small cabins that once served as hunting and fishing vacation homes in the 30's, 40's and 50's. We are walking distance to the Spring Lake public beach, the expansive bike trails of the area and to the Village Baker (a must visit for great baked goods, fantastic brunch and dinners, as well as a great cup of coffee!!)
  • Comfortable, beautiful interior. Close to walking/hiking/biking trail and lake. Very pleasant.

  • Frederick's place is in a great location and was more than we could have asked for - a great experience all around.

    Daniel2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Frederick's place was extremely cozy, clean, and well appointed for my son and me. With the arrangements he makes, he manages to strike exactly the right balance between making you feel like you're right at home, but not like you're living in someone else's house. I highly recommend this destination for anyone staying in the greater Muskegon or Grand Haven area.

    Jeff2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place was beautiful and in such a great location. We would absolutely stay there again!

    Sabrina2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was excellent. The house was very cute and had everything we needed. The location was close to everything we wanted to do. Close to bike trails too.

    Caitlyn2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Easy in, Easy out. The pictures were exactly what we saw. Two thumbs up. Would love to come back when it was a bit warmer where we could explore the beach more.

    Jason2017-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Frederick’s place was an amazing little spot surrounded by great little food spots and super close to Grand Haven! It provided so much fun for a girl’s weekend! I would highly recommend this place.

    Chelsea2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house was extremely clean, well-kept, and had a kitchen with almost every utensil you could need for a short or long stay (except a cork screw/wine opener). The location itself was very nice, right in a family neighborhood, so it was very quiet at night, and the beds were so comfortable - easy to get a lot of good rest there! I look forward to staying there again!

Country getaway! Located 1/2way between 2 small towns: Pinckney and Howell. Near Nature and Recreation areas. Our place is secluded and along a private road - but shopping restaurants and highway for commute are only 10 minutes away. Only 1/2 hour -45 minutes to Downtown Ann Arbor and University of Michigan. Our Private Lake (no public launch) is GREAT for fishing, swimming, kayak and canoeing. Birds and wildlife abound. Peace and quiet given and expected! Available all year round - in the winter there is skiing nearby - either cross country or downhill. Four bedroom and 4 full baths, fireplace, open floorplan with open kitchen/great room with vaulted ceiling, wrap-around deck and wrap around patio off walk-out finished basement. Fully furnished and well-appointed kitchen. Laundry room, game room stocked with card and board games, bookshelves full of books, 2 TVs with DVD players and large movie collection (no cable TV and NO INTERNET service unless you bring your own hotspot via cell phone.) We also have a firepit with sit-upon logs for roasting marshmallows or weenies.. We have a shore area, 2 rowboats, a 4-person paddleboat, and a 2-person kayak for exploring the private 82-acre lake.
Rural location for those wishing for a place "off the beaten path" and surrounded by nature. I do have neighbors, but am on almost 2 acres nestled into the side of a hill, along a private road, with 200ft lakefront on small sleepy lake. Our little private road is paved, but narrow. No parking on the street, plenty of parking in my long driveway, 4-6 cars easily.
  • My wife and I had a very pleasant weekend on the lake for Memorial Day weekend. We met Susan upon check-in, and were given the info on the house as well as the boats that can be used during the rental. We spent a lot of time on the water in the kayak, and had a great time swimming off of it in the middle of the lake. The house is well stocked with what you need to have a relaxing time. It was easy to get to from Ann Arbor, and made for a nice quiet weekend on the lake.

    Peter2014-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • We just got home from an amazing trip! A total of 3 families (6 adults and 7 kiddos under age 4) wanted to get together and go 'glamping.' We've never used AirBnB before and didn't know what to expect but Susan exceeded every expectation possible. We didn't know if we needed to pack paper towels, soap, salt etc and she let me know (promptly after emailing her with questions) that the place was stocked... and she wasn't kidding. Any kitchen appliance you would need is there, along with any type of entertainment you might need (anything from DVDs to toys for kiddos to marshmallow roasting supplies to lawn darts etc). There are TONS of chairs and places to sit/relax and everyone had a bed. She filled up the propane tanks for the grill and let us use the boats on the lake. We brought our own slip and slide equipment and bought water guns from a Walmart (15 min away) for some amazing summer fun, but we really didn't even need to do that (but that hill behind the house was begging for a mega slip and slide)! The weather was amazing, which I'm sure helped our experience, but we would have been plenty cozy if we were rained 'in' with lots to do on the inside too. She left us some organic salsa and made us a fire when we checked in. Good times. Will DEFINITELY come back! Thanks Susan!!!

    Kelly2014-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • The place was as described and fit my family of ten nicely. The binder created guide to the lake house and surrounding area was a nice touch. While the yard is large, it is also covered with goose poop which renders it mostly useless for sports and kids playing. You have to watch your step closely in the yard. Susan's check out checklist asks that you mop the floor although there is a $250 cleaning fee.

    Jenn2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Susan was a great host. I didn't need to call her during my stay but the days leading to my stay she responded in a timely manner to all my questions. Her house was clean and inviting. The pictures posted does not do the home any justice. We enjoyed our stay greatly. The location was great and the view of the lake was amazing.

    Ivory2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very welcoming and met us upon arival. She and I were able to go over all issues so we both understood what was expected. The place and the setting were as I anticipated. The accomodations were as described. The place worked out wonderfully for our needs. I would highly recommend it!!

    John2014-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • 5 STARS!!! We absolutely love this place! The photos really do not do it justice! Susan exceeded our every expectation. She made us feel trusted and welcome from the moment we walked in the door. Everything we could need was provided (kitchen appliances, towels, games, boats, campfire tools, propane tanks for grilling etc.) Susan's salsa is fantastic! Our group could not have been happier with our experience. We would LOVE to come back! Thank you for making this weekend unforgettable!!!

    Allie2014-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very pleasant throughout our transactions and I appreciated the walk through of the house when we arrived. The house was very clean and anything I forgot like towels or sunscreen was there for guests' use. Use of the boat and kayaks was also a plus. The neighborhood was lovely and quiet and being on a smaller lake was extremely relaxing.

    Meredith2014-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • The lakefront house was nice! There were nice touches that we appreciated. A baby swing was hung and we used it a ton! Having access to the lake was a huge bonus, too! We were delighted to use the row boats at our desire! This house is suited for one couple with a bunch of kids. There were a couple of issues that Susan told us about during her tour that she gave upon arrival. She told us that the spring in the dishwasher doesn’t work and that the door was heavy. I opened it but didn’t realize how quick it would open- still have a huge bruise on my thigh! All is well, though, I was warned! :) The basement lights didn’t work due to a storm. There was a fix of lamps around the perimeter. It worked out just fine! Susan is so hospitable and kind! A super nice person to rent from!

This private studio suite acquires the best area of our 100+ year old house. A modified parlor and sunroom with traditional glass windows overlook historic Heritage Hill. Minutes from downtown, you'll be able to experience the best of Grand Rapids!
Our private studio suite is located within what we jokingly call the "East Wing" of our 100+ year old home. It has its own front door and is locked off from the rest of the house, so you'll be able to rest at ease knowing that you won't be sharing with others. Traditional glass windows wrap around the sunroom, creating a perfect place to drink coffee in the morning and sit on the couch while the sun sets. The suite offers a full kitchen and bathroom with a queen size bed.
Our neighborhood is part of the historical Heritage Hill district of Grand Rapids. Home owners in this area go to great lengths to keep up to code to preserve the aesthetics of this old neighborhood. A half block away is the Meyer May House designed by Frank Llyod Wright and is considered Michigan's Prairie masterpiece.

Will definitely stay again!

    Ryan2016-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great space in a great neighborhood! Cody left us a list of restaurants and bars in the area, some of which we were able to walk to. The keypad made entry a breeze and the parking out back was a bonus. They truly thought of everything: coffee, granola bars/oatmeal for breakfast, additional chargers for phones, even candy in the fridge. We would highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting Grand Rapids in the future.

  • The farmhouse was magical. We had a lovely time. Our twin toddler boys had a fantastic time and we all truly relaxed. We loved the house so much that we couldn't wait to get back there after a couple hours exploring the cute local towns and wineries. We enjoyed Fishtown in Leland, Tandem Ciders and Blustone Winery. Sean was extremely accessible and very hospitable. The kitchen was well stocked - even my husband (who brought his own microplane) was impressed. The house is extremely well designed with all elements well-consider. Super comfortable and really just perfect all around. Highly recommended and we hope to come back.

    Stephanie2014-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The modern farmhouse more than exceeded expectations. My party and I spent the entirety of our first evening fawning over the beautiful home and landscape, preemptively mourning that we did not book more time. The decor of the home was not only beautiful, but incredibly well thought out -the needs of the guest are well considered. We will definitely be back.

    Abby2014-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sean's modern farmhouse is the cream of the Airbnb crop. I was ready to love it from the photos posted, but walking from room to room when we arrived (hastily leaving our luggage in the car just so we could explore first) was unreal. Sean has put such care into every detail of his beautiful house, from the claw foot tub (my favorite) to the well-stocked and easy to navigate kitchen. There was quite a bit of snow on the ground, so we were too cold to enjoy the patio and yard as much as we normally would have, but I'm just counting that as an excuse to schedule a return trip.

    Anni2013-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home. We love staying here every year for a couple of nights.

    Josh2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Serene spot and breathtaking property, but still close to all the area has to offer. The farmhouse is thoughtfully designed with a hard-to-find (among MI rentals) modern sensibility. We loved the kitchen so much we ended up cooking every night while we were there, and took full advantage of the sauna -- a feature that truly puts this place over-the-top. The three bedrooms, each with bathrooms, would make this perfect for a larger group.

    Tanner2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most incredible weeklong winter stay in Sean's farmhouse. The location, accommodations, and overall experience was what we were looking for - and more. We hope to come back!

    Brooke2013-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sean was communicative and did an excellent job letting us know everything necessary to stay in his house. The house was nicely prepared for our arrival, with arrival and departure times communicated early enough to be convenient for our trip. This location was amazing - beautiful scenery and very peaceful. Close enough to Traverse City to provide things to do during the day but far enough out in the country to provide a quiet location to "get away from it all." Overall an amazing location and host that I would strong recommend.

    Stephanie2014-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • This house was a dream come true. Our family came together here for some much needed R&R and it couldn't have been more perfect. The house is stocked with everything you need and more. The scene all around you in breathtaking with rolling fields, tall grasses, and large skies. The house has been impeccably renovated featuring very modern accommodations in a vintage farmhouse feel. A true gem. Our highlights were having cookouts in the back that ended in s'mores, having 3 bathrooms (a luxury!), the sauna, wonderful linens, and cooking in the kitchen. Thanks Sean - we will be back!

The Grand Mere Coach House is in an eclectic neighborhood surrounded by Lake Michigan, small lakes, and sand dunes. Grand Mere Park is a year around beautiful place for walking, cross country skiing, and sledding. The family room and kitchen face Lake Michigan with lots of windows. The house has a queen bedroom, queen pullout in family room, and laundry. A bird feeder adds to the charm. There is also a HOT TUB located on the back patio directly on Lake Michigan, behind the main house.
The coach house is on the Lake with a view of Lake Michigan and normally a beach. It has a full kitchen a living room with a queen pullout and a queen bedroom and bath. Grand Mere State Park is very close containing 600 acres of dunes, trails and several thousand feet of beach. Note: Lake Michigan is currently at very high levels and we have to access the beach from the public beach 100' to the south. The beach is still walkable all of the way to the south into the state park.
Grand Mere is an eclectic neighborhood in between Lake Michigan and 2 inland lakes. Grand Mere State Park containing 600 acres of lakes and dunes is next (website hidden). Joseph, New Buffalo, and wine country are within 15 minutes.

  • Thanks John for the lovely space and for being a great host. In the guest house we had a beautiful view of the lake, a comfortable bed, and a great and well-stocked kitchen. I spent every morning doing yoga on the beach and we went swimming every day. Very relaxing!

John is a great and very accommodating host. Although everything was pretty much self explanatory, he was quick to respond with any questions. Absolutely the best!!! Thanks!

  • Pasamos tres noches junto a mi familia.

  • This is the 2nd time my wife and I have stayed at John's coach house and we have had our expectations exceeded both times. It is such a beautiful place with extremely close access to both the state park and the beach. John is very hospitable and informative, communicating with us throughout our stay. If we need another trip away, I am sure this place will be high on our list. Thanks again John. -Erik

  • As always John goes above and beyond to make the house you're staying in feel like home. Beautiful property and cool authentic Michigan food relatively nearby. Can't beat being right on the beach. Also the hot tub is delightful at the end of the day.

    Kevin2016-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Bright, Clean and quiet (we were there midweek) with gorgeous views of the lake. It isn't possible to get to the lake from the property but there are a couple state parks near by with access. Photos do the property justice except for not showing that the Lake is 25+ feet below the yard. Would highly recommend staying at John's. We enjoyed the hot tub. John has great clear instructions and booklet on area restaurants and activities. We forgot coffee you'll want to bring it because everything else is there to make and enjoy it. We also enjoyed seeing the Yellow Finches at the feeder and the sunsets on the lake.

The perfect home for a laid back group of friends, couples or a family to stay with all the comforts of being at home. In the morning, grab treats from the neighborhood bakery, Common Good, and plan your day exploring hiking trails, beaches, craft breweries and world-class wineries. Grab bikes and ride the 1.3 miles to Downtown Traverse City and West Bay to enjoy everything that is great about Northern Michigan: shops, views, dining, drinks, and more!
My home is your home for your stay. Your space includes 3 quaintly decorated bedrooms with empty closets for storage and plenty of space to settle in for your stay. The kicthen, dining room and living room have been recently updated and include all the essentials from home plus lots of unique details from my travels. The lower unit gym includes a new treadmill, free weights, bench and space for yoga.
Our neighborhood is called, "SoFo" because it is the area in town Traverse City south of 14th Street. Located at the edge of a quiet residential area with a grocery store, ice cream shop, whiskey tasting room, brewery, bagel shop, party store and some simple take out places: sushi, pizza, Chinese and sandwiches. We're only 4 blocks to Old Town and 1 miles to Downtown Traverse City.
  • We had an amazing stay at the Sofo house. Overall, the house was very clean, plus it had a large fenced-in yard, which was great for our dog. There were three bedrooms, so my daughters had their own rooms, plus you had privacy from the road and the neighbors downstairs. The amenities were nice, with a TV, modern kitchen appliances, and outlets for electronic devices. Plus, it was only a mile from downtown.I think that this property was a great choice for our Traverse City stay, and I would book this house again.

    Deborah2017-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place is well located! Very nice an comfortable inside. It was a wonderful place to stay even though we only had one night in TC. Beds were comfortable and the place was clean. Nice, large fenced in backyard for the dogs! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

  • Very nice and clean space. Plenty of room. Pretty close to the downtown area (1-2 miles away). Kitchen was very useful. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay and Kendall was very quick to respond to our questions and requests. Would recommend!

  • Very comfortable/cozy home with a HUGE fenced in backyard, great for kids and 4legged friends alike. Five minute drive from the home to Front Street and the surrounding nightlife. Close to grocery stores/shopping. The laundry and workout rooms were very convenient. Highly recommend this place.

  • This place is just like the pictures. At first I was skeptical, I was like how is this amazing house, such an amazing price. Upon checking Marta was really great about all the details of checking In. Her place was better than the pictures, the bed was sooo comfortable, the place was kept so nice with the brand new hardwood and updated kitchen. We felt right at home!! Thanks again

    Tiffany2017-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Marta was very easy to work with and answered our questions promptly. The house was very comfortable and clean. We loved that the house was so close to downtown and we were able to walk or ride bikes everywhere.

    Bruce2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Marta gives great tips about the local breweries and wineries. Awesome bikes should you need them. Could not ask for a better space and host.

    Roth2018-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had excellent arrival instructions and other communications with Marta. SoFo is well-appointed with most everything you might need for short or longer stays. Location is great. The road in front was busy in evenings but quieted down for a great nights sleep on very comfy beds. This is a great place if traveling with young family and pets - enjoy s'mores around the fire and adult beverages after the kiddos are tucked in!

The Cabin Attractive, comfortable, off the grid cabin, on the Waterloo-Pinckney trail. A beautiful woodstove for winter heat or chilly evenings, queen size bed, battery operated lights, and a humanuer toilet. Nestled amoung many acres of state forest, including nearby lakes, and many miles of trails for hiking or skiing. Wonderful as a retreat space or vacation haven. Sorry, no children, no pets. Location 16 miles west of Ann Arbor, surrounded by state forest. Breakfast included, lovingly prepared by natural foods caterers and delivered to your cabin at pre-arranged times. Most special diets can be accomodated deliciously. Hanuman The main house has some ashes from Neem Karoli Baba in the foundation. He is believed to be a physical incarnation of Hanuman, the Hindu God of Service. We wish to give respite and good food to service workers, whether your service is to your family, friends, job, or the world.
  • The Hanuman's Cabin was as described, and was avery pleasant surprise. A rustic cabin nestled in the woods, a cabin much as the settlers would have had in the 19th century. The hostesses were very pleasant, and served very delicious breakfasts. Quietude.

    David2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for a quick mini-vacation for the weekend and spotted Mully & Deb's cabin. Located adjacent to the Waterloo State Park with immediate to access to hiking trails, it was a great option. Throw in a delicious meals, a wood stove, the friendliest of hosts, and a bucket to poop in, and we had ourselves a grand ol' time! But seriously, the "humanure" toilet is pretty rad. Cedar chips... who knew? But actually seriously: We had a fantastic time. The wood stove was plenty warm for the frigid winter we've been having (we had to crack a window when it got TOO toasty) and Mully and Deb were an absolute joy. Thanks again, looking forward to another visit!

    Sam2014-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutley awesome hosts, place and food. We even had a welcome cat who made us feel at home as well.

    Laurie2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say? If you like the description, you will have a wonderful stay. If you're unsure, but curious, give it a try - you will probably not be disappointed, and you will definitely have a unique and nourishing experience. We had a magical visit at the Hanuman Cabin and would do it again without hesitation. The breakfast alone is worth the price of admission - one of the best meals of my life, not only for the fresh and vibrant flavors, but for the obvious love and care that went into preparing the meal. Deb and Mully are superb hosts and you will be well cared for during your stay.

    Suzie2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin in the woods, right along the Waterloo-Pinckney trail, was such a lovely place to go for a quiet weekend getaway. Deb and Mully were great hosts, serving breakfast each morning and always there if we needed anything. Very lovely time.

    Natalie2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing off the grid experience! Lovely hosts and location! Definitely a must

    Austin2018-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Mully & Deb's place as a solitary or couple's retreat. My boyfriend and I celebrated our start to 2018 at the cabin on New Year's Day. We really enjoyed the wooded scenery as there was snow on the ground and we bonded over keeping the fire going in the wood-burning heater. There were plenty of options offered for breakfast (including vegetarian), and our choices were delicious. We are excited to come back for a visit during another gorgeous season.

    Bree2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Deb and Mully were great hosts, warm, kind and helpful from the very start. They showed us right into their beautiful cabin, showed us all the necessary things to operate in it (e.g. the lovely wood furnace), told us all about the great hiking trails nearby, showed us maps, made sure we had everything we needed. Then they surprised us by asking what we wanted for breakfast (we hadn't realized that was part of the experience) and they kindly offered us lots of delicious food for the next morning! Then they gave us space and left us to enjoy the very relaxing atmosphere of the cabin. We hiked and had a very calm, restorative night and in the morning they brought us tea, coffee and an incredibly delicious and big breakfast. They were kind and informative throughout and we'll definitely come back to stay again!

Heart of Downtown TC on Union Street at the corner of Union and State! This Rustic Modern Loft is located just behind front street, only a block from the beach and everything that downtown Traverse City has to offer. Restaurants, festivals, coffee shops, movie theaters, you name it.
This iconic 130 year old building was once home to a printing press. Its towering brick walls stand 12 feet tall and were hand made using clay that is unmistakable to our area, from the waters of Cedar Lake just west of Downtown. The tasteful renovation included the restoration of the original old growth maple floors throughout, plus the repurposing of historic doors, windows, fixtures, and local barn wood beams and boards, as well as many custom pieces from local artisans.
This block is in the heart of downtown, set less than a block behind Front Street on Union. Multiple restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and all sorts of retail are within just a few steps out the door.
  • This place is amazing! It was spotless. The huge shower and available washer and dryer made this place so much better than expected. The modern decor was gorgeous and I will definitely plan a trip to stay here again in the future!

  • The Loft is the perfect location to explore downtown Traverse City. The room is modern, unique, and has plenty of space . The host, Saburi, met all of our needs, and helped accommodate any issues we had. I recommend "The Loft" for anyone looking for a great getaway to Traverse City!

  • The Loft holds modern charm in the middle of rustic Traverse City. We loved the location and all the natural light that this gorgeous studio gets. Right downtown, it was great to walk through the shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend!

  • It's a stunning space! Great view, great bed room area, excellent bathroom and shower. I highly recommend it!

    Galen2018-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft is even better in person than in the photos. Outstanding location with a great brunch spot below (Harvest) and tap room across the street (7 Monks). The space was beautifully decorated and clean with plenty of closet space and a lovely, massive bathroom. We happened to stay during a snowstorm, so the plow trucks were a bit loud outside overnight, but other than that it was a very enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend and hope to stay again in the future!

    Mary2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Saburi's place was a weekend trip like no other; an amazing experience. Beautifully appointed and impeccably clean. There isn't a kitchen or cooking area, but it's perfectly fine with several dining options literally steps away. Surely a best bet for a Traverse City getaway!!

    Dennis2018-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft was perfect for our visit to traverse city. Saburi was an amazing host and extremely accommodating. His loft is beautiful and in a great location for walking around downtown. I would definitely recommend your place to friends and family! -KP

Me, my husband, my in-laws, and my two children spent five nights at Jack’s place, and we created many great memories around his dining room table after preparing food using his state-of-the-art cooktop. Most afternoons we took a chilly walk on the path by the lake, and enjoyed the wildlife (deer and birds) that would wander into the yard throughout the day. I don’t have a lot of experience using AirBnB, and Jack has definitely set the bar very high for both timely communication and thoughtful touches and amenities in his home. If you are looking for a quiet spot conveniently located near the University of Michigan and downtown Ann Arbor Jack’s place should top your list. Thanks, Jack!” Alyssa

  • We reserved the house for our wedding weekend, and it was an amazing experience. The house is very artistically designed with a nice view of the lake. There are four bedrooms, so my husband and I, the best man and the maid of honor stayed at the house the night before the wedding. With the permission of the owner, we had our "get ready" photos taken at the house, and we could not ask for a better place to do that. (My favorite part is when my maid of honor helped me putting on my wedding dress, there were a group of swans that swam across the lake.) The house owner Jack is wonderful, responds to messages quickly, and he is extremely helpful. He prepared a lot of drinks and snacks for us in the fridge, and also a bottle of wine and champagne for our celebration. How sweet is that! I strongly recommend this house, it is truly incredible!

  • This is a beautiful, modern, well-appointed house on a small lake about 15 minutes from downtown Ann Arbor. It has a fabulous kitchen, and it would be great for entertaining. Interactions with Jack were smooth and efficient. I recommend it highly!

    Bill2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! The breakfast was wonderful and the view was amazing. There are a couple quirks about the house that it might be helpful to know: it is a little dim inside at night even with all the lights on, so just be careful walking around. Also, the freezer is in the basement laundry area instead of in the kitchen. It wasn't a problem for us, but it was definitely unusual. Overall, we had a lovely stay and appreciate Jack's hospitality!

    Cynthia2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jack has a marvelous house, spacious for a large family traveling together, convenient location, good neighborhood, top of the line household appliances, tasteful decor, and a beautiful view of the peaceful lake from the living room and the dining room. Jack was a kind and helpful. He was responsive when we needed more info. It was a wonderful experience staying at Jack’s house.

  • This little cottage on Stone Lake was perfect for what my husband and I needed - casual and relaxed. Our dog loved the fenced in yard and, as water-obsessed pooch, we loved being able to control his access to the lake. The open floor plan of the kitchen and living room was perfect for when we had friends join us for one night. We walked to The Twirl for ice cream (every day), went for a walk at Lawless Park and generally enjoyed the slow pace of life away from Chicago.

  • My best friend and I came for a long weekend getaway in February. It was the perfect place! Plenty of space, Netflix, and an awesome hot tub. Being RIGHT on the water is absolutely beautiful. It is close to Dowagiac for restaurants, but the kitchen is very nice for cooking! It was a very cute, home-y space, and we will definitely be looking to come back in the summer with more friends! There are plenty of beds and plenty of living space. This home is perfect!

Floyd's Cabin is a spacious rustic loft style one bedroom cottage with kitchen, extra large living room, wood burning stove Long front porch spanning the entire front of the cabin.Screened porch which overlooks the woods. Located in Lakeside,Michigan on a quiet gravel road, surrounded by a forest of mature trees on all sides. Air conditioning in bedroom, which spills over into the living (Website hidden by Airbnb) fan in living room. Wifi a bit sketchy in the cabin but a good signal is available in and around the cottage (100 ft from the cabin) We're working on that. There are great restaurants, a micro brewery, art galleries, antique shops a short drive away. Warren Dunes is four miles from the cabin. Lake Michigan Pier Ave. Beach is a few blocks from the cabin. It's a short walk or bike ride away. Pick blueberries in the summer or shop at nearby farmers markets for fresh produce. Pick apples or pumpkins in the fall. There is a wonderful Farmers' market from 9 am to 2pm every Saturday and Sunday about four miles to the south of the cabin, located on Red Arrow Highway. Apple Cider Century bike ride in late summer. Lakeside is a quiet, long established summer community. Another nearby small village is Three Oaks, where you will find several restaurants, shops and art house movie theater (the Vickers) . Sawyer is another nearby village which has a grocery store, wonderful garden store, offering a huge selection of plants, produce and an extensive wine shop. Other things to visit in Sawyer are GreenBush Brewing Company, Joe Hindley Artist Studio, Katherine Doll Clothing Shop, which is located in the old Sawyer Fire House. Apple Cider Century Bike tour is in the fall.
  • We spent a week at Floyd's Cabin. Here are the highlights. Cabin is quiet and spacious, tucked in the woods, and private. Linda and Floyd were great hosts. We loved the long back porch, perfect for reading, bird watching (cardinals and hummingbirds including baby birds in the porch eaves), and sipping local micro-brews. The cabin is clean, the bed is comfortable, you can make a nice meal in the kitchen, and we had a fire every night in the wood stove. There's a lot of great art throughout and the artist's studio is close by (but there were no issues with privacy). The public beach is about a mile from the cabin, a pleasant walk (or quick drive). We've visited this area before, focusing mainly on New Buffalo. This time we explored Lakeside and ventured further afield to Harbert, Sawyer, and Three Oaks. Be sure to check out Blue Plate Cafe (Lakeside), Harbert Swedish Bakery and Marco Polo Antiques (Harbert), Sawyer Garden Center (great produce), Sojourn, Go Fish, Infusco Coffee Shop, and Café Gulistan (Sawyer). Vicker's Theater, Trilogy, Ipso Facto, Viola Cafe, Journeyman Distillery, and Pleasant House (Three Oaks). There's a lot of other stuff to do in this area like picking blueberries, hiking, biking, and just meandering. We did a lot, but at a very relaxed pace, and we'll definitely be back.

    Karyn2014-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • I decided to book Floyd's Cabin for a quick weekend getaway. Living in the city, I was hoping to find some nature serenity without driving too far from Chicago. Floyd's cabin was a perfect choice. The cabin is surrounded by trees and interior is filled with Floyd and Linda's artwork, I felt like I got to know the hosts through their work. But most importantly, it was as serene as it could possibly get.

    Anastasia2014-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome quiet location very close to warren dunes. Thanks Floyd and Linda!

    matt2015-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really relaxing time at Floyd's cabin. Floyd himself gave us a warm welcome upon arrival and it was an ideal "home base" for two beach days at the Warren Dunes. The aged cabin, with a "campy" renovated interior, has modern amenities of water, electricity, and wifi (though this was not working during our stay), while still maintaining a rustic feel. It is set back a bit from its neighbors, surrounded by trees and a woodsy, non-manicured yard. The bedroom, kitchen, and huge long porch were highlights, and there were some thoughtful touches throughout (including a coffee grinder). The living room is much larger than pictured. We were inspired by the funky artwork; the living room seems to double as a gallery of sorts for Floyd. The communication was adequate; could have been more timely and proactive before we arrived. We didn't receive directions and when we inquired we were referred back to the listing. Linda responded promptly to texts while we were there, though didn't appear to read them thoroughly. In all, the cabin's proximity to the water was perfect, including beach access across the street, and we were happy to spend part of our week there! One recommendation -- we highly encourages guests to check out Louisa's Cafe just north of the cabin.

    Annabeth2015-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a nice time at the cabin. It was VERY spacious, comfortable and a nice clean space for my family and dog to stay. The location was convenient to the beach, less than 3 minute drive. the decor was "artistic" and interesting. Our 3 year old boy found the pieces to be great! Great breweries and wineries nearby Lots of antiquing in the area, although not quite our cup of tea. It seems like the area is full of lots of vacation homes for folks from Chicago. Thanks to Linda and Floyd to hosting us.

    Sean2015-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable cabin with friendly and responsive hosts. My husband and I came with our dog Liberty for five days of rest and relaxation. The kitchen is lovely and fun to cook in. The main room is set up with games, TV and a nice fireplace (it was 60 degrees in July so we were able to enjoy). The location is close enough to everything, but far enough that you don't hear traffic. You are close to the beach, Greenbush Brewery and Journeyman Distillery. Check out Floyd's furniture too - beautiful and creative artisanal pieces. We'll definitely come back.

  • My friend and I decided to get a little getaway from Chicago in Michigan. I found Floyd's cabin after reading many reviews. It is tucked away from the street and surrounded my woods. The home is kitschy and quaint, and had all the basic amenities you'd need kitchen, AC, hot water, comfortable bed. Linda is so nice and helpful. I really enjoyed our exchanges. She even recommended a beautiful, scenic drive to us.

  • Sally is extremely welcoming and makes sure that you enjoy your stay. We had a great time.

  • We had a great time! Was very close to the things we wanted to do, and still not a far drive from places like Petoskey or Harbor Springs. We absolutely look forward to planning another trip!

  • Had a great stay with no problems. Host was always prompt in answering questions, and the place was in good shape.

    Alex2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • I would not recommend this property to anyone. It's got some real issues and seems to be a construction project in progress. From a living space perspective, it's not suitable for more than 2-3 people and there are some items that, if I were responsible for the property, I would address before renting to anyone else. I got taken paying $250 per night over New Years, but it was close to skiing.

  • We had a wonderful time during our stay here with Sally. The weather kept us inside for the majority of our stay but the cottage had everything we needed to pass the time and with the modern upbeat feel and cozy gas fireplace we hardly noticed the wind whipping outside. Sally was a gracious host who made herself readily available while still providing us the utmost privacy. Was really just like having your own up north vacation spot as opposed to renting a place. Just the right distance from town to be convenient for dinner and from the mountain for skiing and boarding or even fishing.

    Jacob2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Sally was great! Very welcoming, nice, and open minded! The unit was great - it was an especially hot weekend and the AC unit did a great job of cooling us off and was a great place to relax. Thanks for everything! Highly recommend! Boyne City is beautiful, and this cottage is just a short couple minute drive from Lake Charlevoix and everything the city has to offer.

  • Be sure not to use navigation to get there - use (Hidden by Airbnb) maps. We booked cottage but due to septic issues we got the big house - super quiet.

  • Our stay at the cabin was awesome! Michelle was a wonderful host and available for any questions. Such a beautiful piece of secluded property. We spent our days canoeing, floating, hiking to the tree house and picking berries. Frogs, owls and distant coyotes could be heard at night. Our dog was in heaven. Lots of exploring in the area as well, we visited Marquette and Pictured Rocks. The cabin has everything you need for a relaxed stay, we would love to come back with a few friends!

  • Another great visit to the cabin! Michelle offers a wonderful cabin in the heart of the UP to enjoy fishing, relaxing, hiking and camp fires. This was our second trip and I highly recommend.

  • This place was exceptional! It literally had everything possible to play with in the water, plus we had a camp fire we will be talking about for years. I can tell Michelle truly cares, we loved it as much as she does. My friends and I did have a wonderful time! Thank you so much! This is a place that I recommend very highly! Chris from Fruitport

  • We had a wonderful family vacation week with our adult children at Michelle's cabin! It is in an absolutely beautiful location and we appreciated that it was clean and fully furnished inside and out. With 7 adults, we enjoyed having a dishwasher, microwave, comfy beds and 2 full bathrooms. After an awesome campfire and an amazing display of the northern lights, our adult children had a moonlit paddleboat ride and watched the mist form over the lake. The hike to the treehouse was a challenge, but we found it! We had a great breakfast at the Summer Place in Republic and fun exploring the wonderful antique and thrift stores there. Another day trip involved delicious coffee and muffins at Babycakes in Marquette followed by some cliff jumping into Lake Superior. Back at the cabin we also took the canoe out fishing, played carpetball, did a puzzle together, enjoyed the beautiful deck overlooking the lake, read books, journaled, and chose a movie from the stack provided. It was nice to have an oven to bake cookies and a washer/dryer when needed. Michelle is a super hostess and Marsha is great also. We will give it a 5 star even though we missed having the floating dock for swimming, but we hear that it will be fixed soon. We so enjoyed our time at the Holtrop cabin. It was a great time to unplug from social media, relax, and make memories together!

  • If you are looking to get away from it all in the beautiful UP and have a very comfortable place to stay, I highly recommend this cabn in the woods! Everything you need to "survive" (hot shower, dishwasher, coffeemaker, washer/dryer, and a big fridge) are at this cabin. Stock up on groceries so that you can just sit on the deck and enjoy the day pass by. Michelle is a wonderful and responsive host. The cabin is beautiful, and one can feel the love with which it was built and decorated. I was alone for the week, but it could accommodate 8 people (or more) with enough space left over for a quiet cup of coffee at the kitchen table for the early risers. The location is perfect if you want to really get away - and yet you are within an hour of Marquette and other great UP destinations. I highly recommend this as a quiet getaway and I am glad I found it on Airbnb.

  • My husband and I (along with our dog) had a really wonderful time here for a few days after the new year! We spent the majority of our time just relaxing in the peaceful, pleasant cabin in front of the warm fire, but we also enjoyed cross-country skiing around the lake as well as a day trip to Lake Superior/Marquette. We actually ended up adding an extra night to our stay once we arrived and realized how great it was! Michelle and Tina were both so helpful throughout our stay, and I can't recommend this place more; we definitely plan on keeping this place in mind for future vacations for both ourselves and with our extended family!

  • This was our 3rd trip to Michelle's wonderful and unique cabin and property and we are so very thankful that she was kind enough to share it with us again. It is so nice we want to come back every year! Since our first visit in 2012 we have thought about back nearly every year (and ever season, wondering what autumn is like or winter). We were fortunate to return in 2016 with dear friends and we had such a great time we returned again this year. In fact we're so found of Michelle's cabin we even recommend this amazing place to friends and family who may be looking for a unique and quiet getaway. It really is a great place for couples, families or a small group of friends. Upon our return this year we found the cabin and lake were even more charming than we remembered. The cabin is extremely well stocked with all things you'd want at such a place. We canoed, kayaked, and SUP paddleboarded (a new addition) around the lake, and swam, and fished, and grilled out. In the evenings we had bonfires and stargazed. We are city dwellers from Chicago and forget what a proper night's sky is supposed to look like.... stunning. The evening sunsets were amazing and because of the northern latitude and being so west into the eastern time zone we enjoyed that golden hour glow over the forest late into evening (10:30pm!) There are great hiking trails to be found in the area and we took in some waterfalls and north woods scenery hiking the Dead River Falls outside Marquette. This hike was worth doing and we'd highly recommend to those looking to enjoy a bubbling river and the piney smells of a conifer forest in spring. We also ventured into Marquette for fresh beer from Black Rock Brewery and delicious pasties. A UP must. I'm a bit of a bird nerd and had great time again walking around the property listening to and photographing the wonderful song birds up there right now. There were easily a dozen species of warbler, woodpeckers, sparrows, hummingbirds, ducks and even a few cranes. Their beautiful songs, that quintessential North-woods soundtrack, filled the air morning, noon and night. I even think I turned friends onto birding it was that good.....maybe.... :) Michelle's cabin is a one of kind gem. She's a fantastic host and lovely to interact with. We are all so very lucky she is willing to share it with us. This was my wife and my third trip, but I hope it's not the last. Maybe next year!

  • Michelle, Thank you so much for the use of your beautiful cabin! It was even better than we imagined! The property was beautiful and we had a great time hiking the trails and finding the tree house! Our daughters enjoyed the lake almost everyday we were there. We had one day that it stormed and that was a perfect excuse to stay in snuggled on the couches reading and playing the games in the basement. None of our phones had service in the area and that was fine by us. We haven't completely unplugged as a family like that in a long time :) The location was perfect because we were only an hour away from almost anything. We went whitewater rafting in Iron Mountain and cliff jumping in Marquette. Thank you again! We are already thinking about coming again during a different season!

Kristina's home was extremely comfortable, clean, and absolutely perfect for our stay. My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Kristina's lovely home for a weekend, and we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect. We also brought our golden retriever for the weekend, as her listing is pet friendly. It was great as she had a crate for us to keep our dog in when we went into town and couldn't bring the dog. The house is very cozy and the yard is beautiful. Kristina left an informative list with excellent tips regarding the area and local restaurant scene. That was very helpful and we took her advice on a few of the suggestions, which we enjoyed. Overall, we felt very welcomed and would stay here again if given the opportunity.

Lisa and Jon are great people. The tiny house is a wonderful, cozy, adventure complete with external bath and shower. Lisa made it clear that if you're looking for 5-star perfection, this is not for you. But if you want a clean, quiet, secluded place to stay in one of most beautiful areas of the country, you've found a goldmine. At first, I thought the house was built just to be rented, but then I found out Jon and Lisa lived here for 2 years. That made the place even more special. It reinforced how small a footprint we can leave if we're committed to sustainable living. I don't have enough determination for 2 years, but for a short period it's like a cleansing for modern life. Highly recommended.

Marta was wonderful and so accommodating to us. Check in time was not until 5, but I had hoped to use the bikes as early as noon. Marta allowed us access to the bikes long before our check in! The unit is very minimal, but Marta makes it feel very at home with the decor, board games, etc. I was very pleasantly surprised at the short distance the unit was to downtown! This was a great fit for our one night stay
