The Pleasant Bay Lookout is a private room with a spectacular view, nestled in the trees. Guests access our family's home (where we live full time) for kitchen, bathroom, living room, hot tub, and other household amenities. We feel fortunate to welcome guests to this tucked-away oasis of peace and beauty. Meeting accurate expectations is very important to us - we only accept requests from those with complete profiles who let us know they've read our entire listing description. Thank you!
The Pleasant Bay Lookout is nestled in a forest overlooking the Salish Sea. Its stunning beauty and simplicity have been showcased widely, including on Airbnb's Instagram, in local magazines and on many websites. The Lookout is simple: one room (121 square feet) with a comfortable recliner, a modern sofa that converts to a bed, a glass wall with a breathtaking view, and a deck to experience the sound of the sea, songbirds and sun, rain and shifting clouds firsthand. As one guest said: "The space is small in footage but huge on character and coolness. The back wall is all glass. It leads out to a deck and offers a beautiful view of the woods and the bay. The view makes the whole room feel as big as the whole out of doors." We care about beauty, connection, real things, and the Lookout reflects that; much of its features were made by us or locally sourced. There is a branched tree from our property to hang your coat, a live edge coffee table made by Peter, and thoughtfully chosen art on the walls. In the main house - which you'll share with us, as we live there full time - you'll eat at a handcrafted breakfast bar, use Aimee's homemade soap in the shower, and enjoy a fire with wood from our property. Note that there is no bathroom in the Lookout - it's a 40 second walk to the bathroom in the house, which is open 24/7 for your use. The common trend for visitors to the Lookout is to arrive and cast off any plans they have: most seem to fall into the state described in Italian as "La Dolce Far Niente - The Sweetness of Doing Nothing." The main house is a 30 second walk from the Lookout. We live in the house, and are grateful to share it with Lookout guests from all over the world. Though fifty years old, it is comfortably modern, built on a forested bluff above a picturesque bay with a simple design and architecture that integrates with its surroundings. Most walls of the house are made of glass, making a moving painting with the flight of birds, trees dancing in the wind, moonlight and dappled sunlight - it truly is a feast for the senses. The sensory delight increases when you go outside the Lookout or house – the forest is alive with songbirds, shorebirds, raptors and peekaboo views. Raccoon and deer wander through, and Chuckanut Mountain trails and beaches are a short walk, bike ride, paddle or drive away. There are many options for nature excursions and adventures right outside our door. The Pleasant Bay Lookout is ideal for nature lovers, outdoor adventurers, and those who want simple accommodations in a beautiful natural setting. • Note that the Lookout and our home are nestled in the trees, but not built IN a tree like a typical treehouse. • Meeting accurate expectations is very important to us, so please let us know you've read our entire listing description and understand the arrangement between Lookout and main house when you send a booking request. Thank you!
With Chuckanut Mountain behind us and the Salish Sea in front, hikers, bikers, and kayakers will find easy access to all three activities from the studio. The Interurban Trail is just up the road. Heading south on the Interurban you'll reach the trails, lakes and seashore of 2683-acre Larrabee State Park in five minutes; walking north, you can stroll or bike five miles to town if you'd like, all on a forested trail overlooking the sea. Launching a boat from a nearby area will bring you to a beautiful coastline, with Chuckanut Island as the gem of Chuckanut Bay. For years, our family has been the caretakers of this special place, owned by the Nature Conservancy. The world renowned beauty of Chuckanut Drive is moments away – enjoy it by bicycle or car. The quaint village-within-the-city of Fairhaven is 10 minutes and downtown Bellingham is 20 minutes by car (if you lack a vehicle, we're happy to carpool the short distance to town as we're able). The Skagit Valley is just 20 minutes south along Chuckanut Drive. Venturing east, you can reach the glorious mountains, rivers, and waterfalls of the North Cascades in just over an hour. Driving west, you can be on a ferry to the pristine San Juan islands in under an hour. If you'd like, you can touch a glacier and enjoy a picnic on a beach in the same day! The Chuckanut area and Bellingham region are an outdoor recreation and nature lovers' paradise. We're the Northwest epicenter for sea, mountain, lake, and river activities, as well as island hopping and visiting local farms of every variety (vineyards, vegetables, fruit, meat, dairy). If you'd prefer a more urban vacation, Bellingham has great markets, diverse shopping opportunities, varied restaurants and nightlife, great local breweries, and one of the most beautiful university campuses in Washington state. We're situated equidistant to Vancouver BC and Seattle, so big city attractions are just a 90 minute drive away.
  • We spent two delightful nights in the Pleasant Bay Lookout earlier this week. The Lookout offers cozy accommodation in a wonderful forest setting. The view over the bay is perhaps even more spectacular than advertised! As hosts, Peters and Aimee were gracious and helpful in their welcome. They made us feel part of the family, even while going through a challenging time with their beloved dog Scruffy. We hope there will be a chance to return!

  • Magical place, will return!

    Dan2014-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We were enchanted by the photos and description of the Lookout and our expectations were exceeded. Aimee and Peter are such lovely hosts and stewards of this beautiful place. Their home and the Lookout are magical: looking out from the huge walls of windows, nestled among the coastal madronas and other lush greenery, overlooking the bay, you feel at once totally cozy and totally part of the natural world outside. For the first couple hours we were there, my partner and I couldn't stop asking each other, "Isn't it amazing?" We had fun drinking coffee and visiting with Aimee in the morning and learning all about her love for the area, her passion for the outdoors, her work leading outdoor trips and mentoring young women leaders, and the family's connection with this spot. The only downside to the experience was that it was much much too short. Stay here if you want to be inspired!

  • Yes nice place we enjoyed our two days we spent there. Amie and Peter are great host.

    Caroline (Carrie)2015-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at the lookout was amazing. One of those rare times where it's even better in person than in photos. Aimee and Peter were warm and welcoming and made me feel at home. The location is great because it's close to all your outdoor activity needs and a very close drive into town with many great food/cafe and quaint shopping options. I was able to relax and recharge. I'm grateful to have experienced this place.

    Anita2014-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The lookout was just as described. It is a beautiful place close to the water. Peter and Aimee were very kind and helpful and eager to answer all questions. This place is one of a kind!

    Amy2016-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Lookout is an incredible little getaway spot. Aimee and Peter are great hosts and go out of their way to help you have a clear expectation of the space and the other amenities.

    Matthew2017-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Lookout was a wonderful place to find ourselves after a day trip to Bellingham. Aimee was such a gracious host and awesome for accommodating us super last minute. We felt at home immediately upon arriving. Hot tub was fantastic even in the cool spring rain. Bathroom is stocked with organic soaps and we felt very comfortable using the shared spaces of the property. It was great to have coffee with Aimee and Gus (the dog) in the morning. We were sent off with great recommendations for our day and would highly recommend this space for someone looking to relax and recharge.

Amy and I have recently updated this turn of the century, 800+ sf character home. The Bungalow is located within walking distance of both WWU (1 mile) and downtown Bellingham (1 mile) and the neighborhood boasts several great breweries and dining options. The bungalow is located on a dead end, single-family zoned street and is a great option for someone looking for a private, centrally located and affordable neighborhood place to stay while visiting Bellingham.
This house is a turn of the century character home in the York neighborhood. We have relished the opportunity to fix it up. Major updates have been made to the roof and electrical. I installed new hardwood to the foyer, living room and dining room. Both the exterior and interior have fresh coats of paint and I replaced the front porch. The kitchen could use an update but is clean and has fully functional appliances and is stocked with everything you need to cook. Sorry, no dishwasher.
The best part about York neighborhood is that it is in close proximity to everything. We are within walking distance to downtown bellingham or Western campus (both are within a mile). There are also a couple neighborhood diners/pubs that are great places to unwind while enjoying bellingham. The neighborhood is well represented by University students who occasionally exhibit normal university student energy.
  • We were in town for a wedding and this was the PERFECT space for our short getaway. Time to ourselves in an amazing neighborhood and the house was so quaint and spacious at the same time. Thanks so much to Chris and Amy for a perfect stay - we can't wait to come back to Bellingham just to stay here again. PS - the Bellingham co-op is within walking distance and a MUST DO for anyone that appreciates good food, great people and shopping small! :)

  • What a cute house!! Chris and Amy were great with communicate with, they left a handwritten note for me and some snacks too. Even though I didn't spend much time in the house, it was so very comfortable and located in a great neighborhood.

    Amy2016-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had such a great time staying at Chris and Amy's space's/place's. Everything was spot on. Such a nice restful stay indeed

    Dustin2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Amy were fabulous hosts and were very clear in the instructions and directions. The home is very comfortable and clean. Beds are comfortable and ammenities very helpful. Great location with access to stores, beautiful nature and a short distance to Vancouver. We were on a road trip with another couple and the house was perfect for our needs.

    Cynthia2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little house in a nice quiet neighborhood. We really appreciated all the super soft blankets!

    Nora2017-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Amy are gracious hosts and incredibly sweet. Their house was so charming and close to everything. My kids and I had a wonderful stay. The only thing that we didn't like was that it wasn't long enough :)

    Sarah2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great house in a great location for exploring the city. Felt very homey and had extra touches (DVDs, Hulu/Netflix/Prime, puzzles, maps, books, etc.) I didn't expect. Very clean and the self check-in was perfect for this introvert!

    Ridley2018-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely, last minute addition staying at your Airbnb was to our Bellingham day trip. The images represent just how charming the bungalow is. And the gas fireplace was a warm, welcome addition on a cold winter's evening. Luckily we had no problem finding street parking during our stay. The house was not well lit from the front (tip-look for the flag) in the dark. We did try McKay's Taphouse as recommended by the hosts. It was trivia night and jammed packed with college students. Great selection of beer on tap and quite possibly the friendliest bartender I've ever met! Thanks for the easy check-in/check-out via the lock box and all of your detailed communication during our brief stay. Hopefully we'll be back soon!

A little cottage in Chuckanut Village, nestled creek side with a wide view of the bay. A huge garden to explore and graze from, cozy greenhouse, chicken tree house for the hens, kayaks to paddle into the bay, private hot tub, large fire pit, and BBQ.
This is a classy little cottage in Chuckanut Village, nestled literally creek side. This dynamic hangout beckons you to kick up your feet in the eclectic garden with curvy raised beds and a chicken tree house. We also have a gorgeous little greenhouse built from mostly up-cycled materials. Come collect your own eggs and graze from the garden, and stay a while. Hot tub and >5 kayaks available. We list the Hobbit House currently as a two night minimum stay. However, occasionally we have single nights left available, and you CAN make a request for those. We do have an upcharge of $30 for those single nights to cover for the extra cleaning. The cottage echos the designer main house, connected by boardwalk and lovely private garden. Hostess is a horticulturalist who loves to share creative thoughts. Watch the tides change, and smell the salt air, pick some greens for your salad from the garden and treat your palate to some fresh flavors. This retreat is ideal for one or two guests, as there is just one queen-size bed. Children are welcome as well, but please note that this space is small-- we call it the Hobbit House for a reason!-- and it is not child-proofed. The Hobbit House has a nice little galley (kitchen) inside with a mini fridge, two-burner hot plate, and toaster/convection oven. The kitchen is stocked with fresh eggs from our chickens, coffee & tea with all the fixings, a few other breakfast goodies, and cooking essentials (spices, olive oil, etc.) all included in the price of your visit! We appreciate if you eat red meat to BBQ it outside in the outdoor kitchen area adjacent to the Hobbit House. This small cedar building also houses the shower, which has a limited hot water tank. Please note that showers must be kept short! We provide environmentally friendly shower products for you to use, as the water drains into the garden. The space feels very beachy/nautical. Please note that we have a composting toilet. We have a high sensitivity to this marine environment and our mutual stewardship of this special retreat.
Incredible little historic village setting. Old and young, a blend of very friendly, mellow dog lovers.
  • Alison is a beautiful person and her home is a paradise. The Hobbit Hideway is a restorative space to hang out, sit in the hot tub, walk along the estuary or visit the chicken coop. The space is calm, welcoming and very comfortable. Alison is a marvelous host and spares no details to make the experience top rate. This is our second time staying at the HH and we will certainly be back for more.

    Randy2014-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • An incredible little spot: easy to find, right off the Interurban trail (for you runners), everything you need for a comfortable stay. We happened to catch a windy/rainy weekend; it was great seeing it ravage the creek and bay through the windows of our warm Hobbit House. The included coffee with french press, fresh eggs, local Rosemary english muffins and half & half were generous and delicious additions! Alison and her daughter are warm and caring hosts who have put loads of thought and effort into making this a relaxing respite.

    Stephanie2015-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This area of the pacific NW is magical and this hideaway is a true jem! Alison, the host, is a very special lady. She makes you feel genuinely welcome and comfortable as she has made sure to cover every (Website hidden by Airbnb) almost feels as though you were invited to stay rather than a patron! I would recommend the hideaway to anyone.

    Ariana2012-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • All the glowing reviews of the Hobbit House are true: improbable creek side location, amenities galore, warm and welcoming hosts, attention to details, fantastic value. But there are also these things to make your stay here truly memorable:: a well curated library begging you to extend your stay, quiet dark nights granting you the best sleep of your hectic life, expansive windows which make you feel as though you are living outside, local info tempting you to visit incredible places only minutes away (though you may not want to leave at all), a hammock. The Hobbit House is a perfect getaway. You will relax and be made to feel at home and among friends. You will discover things. You will leave inspired. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place. Looking forward to our return.

    Andrea2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Alison--thank you so much! Grace and I had such a pleasant and relaxing weekend. I appreciate all the little details (a full spice rack, plenty of towels, kayaks for use) and work you do to make the Hobbit House fabulous. :)

    Al2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Alison was there when we arrived and took the time to show us around and make us feel welcomed! We loved the Hobbit House, it is charming, and in a quiet, peaceful setting. We loved that it is great spot to take off from for multiple road bike rides. Bellingham has great bike route in and around the city. We took advantage of the many great restaurants in town. Sabrina the cat was a special treat and we loved her sweet company! We went sea kayaking from Alison's nearby launch and we're pleased to see seals, eagles, cormorants, and king fishers on our paddle. All in all, it's a beautiful place!

    Deb2015-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Alison was a welcoming and kind host! The Hobbit House was warm and cozy, and it was the perfect weekend retreat for rest and relaxation. We were able to travel in to Bellingham or surrounding areas for day trips, hiking, and sightseeing, or we could happily stay at the Hobbit House for time in the hot tub and hanging in the garden with the chickens.

    Emily2015-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Alison was a wonderful hostess. The hobbit house was immaculately clean and very well equipped with an excellent use of space. All the provided bedding and furnishings were high quality. Overall a very comfortable stay. We'll definitely be back to enjoy the tranquility on our next visit to bellingham!

It was very clean, quiet and serene. The location is ideal as well-- We were able to use their bikes to ride to the lake! We will definitely book here again!!!

The NOMAD'S NEST is a charming private studio with a kitchenette, bathroom, & communal hot tub. It is an eco-friendly & globally inspired space entirely crafted by us with thoughtful touches throughout. Our guests often comment that it has been their favorite airbnb experience. We welcome nomadic travelers from across the globe! Please note that you climb a flight of stairs to reach it. We charge an additional one time fee of $25 if you require the set up of the sofa bed.
Thoughtfully custom built & decorated by us. We sourced our local RE-Store for materials, our nomadic adventures, & creativity. Guests have described our space by using the word “hygge,” a Danish term defined as “a quality of coziness and comfort that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being.” Pronounced “hoo-guh,” the word has no direct translation in English, though “cozy” comes close. We think this word perfectly captures what we strive for. The Nest provides a cozy retreat for a couple or solo traveler. It can also accommodate a third adult/child on a sofa bed (1 x set up fee of $25).
Sunnyland voted BEST neighborhood in Bellingham by the Cascadia Weekly. Our neighborhood, while not fancy, is funky, artsy, and low-key! That is why we love it. A few things that put us on the "best" neighborhood list are: Trader Joe's (groceries), Kulshan Brewery (best IPA), The Home Skillet (voted best breakfast), & the Sunnyland Stomp (Neighborhood Art Walk in July).
  • The place is such a gem. My wife particularly liked the small changes sich as the custom doorknobs. Netflix was a great bonus as we were able to spend a night in. Bellingham was a pleasure to explore and the Nomad Nest was very close to all our target destinations, and particularly close to Homeskillet.

    William2014-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay at Nomad's Nest. There are some restaurants, brew pubs, and other amenities within a few blocks. Downtown Bellingham is a somewhat longer walk (about a mile). I was in town for a weekend of bicycling, and I had an enjoyable chat with Keri and Ant about their recent bicycling adventures. The space is very comfortable and relaxing. I would definitely consider staying here again.

    Rich2014-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Nomad's Nest is a new favorite of ours, and we'd recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and beautifully eclectic space to spend a night or two or three (or seven). The space had everything we needed, and a quiet soak in their graciously-offered hot tub was exactly what we needed after a long week of work and travel. Keri and Ant (and Dawn!) were extremely kind and gracious hosts, and the next time we're in and around Bellingham, we're excited to be back! [The artistically/travel-inclined guestbook was also a fantastic touch.]

  • Beautiful space with very accommodating features. Bathroom is very clean with seemingly new features. Kitchen is small but packet to the brim with everything you might need. For the space it was very impressive and the location is wonderful for nightly walks into town.

    Mark2018-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was an incredible place to stay. Beautiful, relaxing, full of creature comforts. In a neighborhood, yet walkable to restaurants and downtown. Highly recommend. Will definitely be returning.

  • All the reviews are accurate. K and A are the bomb and they are very considerate in anticipating guests needs.

Newly renovated one bedroom apartment in the heart of Old Fairhaven Historic District. Located two minutes walking to downtown amenities. Fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, and privacy. Located above a quiet law office with private, coded access. On one side is a condo complex and on the other, a home converted into a micro brewery.
This a newly renovated historic building in the center of Old Fairhaven. Originally built in 1909, the building used to be part of the colorful history of Old Fairhaven Prostitution! In it's heyday, it was called "Anne's Palace" and owned by a madam named Anne Bronson. This apartment is small, perfect for two or three people. It starts getting cramped with four adults. Keep that in mind. Please let the host know if you will be needing the sofa bed. As this apartment is next to a micro-brewery, there may be some days and nights with bands that play. There should be no more noise from bands or activities after 9:30-10PM.
This home is in walking distance to urban trails, the Bellingham Amtrak Station, Community Boating Shed (for kayak and paddle board rentals), and all the wonderful Old Fairhaven downtown shops and restaurants, as well as the Farmer's Market. Please scroll all the way down to see the map and locations marked as points of interest. This apartment is located within walking distance to almost everything in Old Fairhaven. There are several listings, restaurants, and places of interest that have been listed; be sure to read about all the great places in Fairhaven and Bellingham! As this is next to a micro-brewery, there may be some days and nights with bands that play. There should be no more noise from bands or activities after 9:30-10PM.
  • Amazing experience! The place was perfect and exactly as described. It had everything I needed and there was a great micro-brewery next door which made for a perfect location. Walking distance to everything in town and easy to access the place with the digital locks. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone traveling to the area. I would actually go out of my way to stay here again.

  • Kristi has set up a lodging accommodation that is perfect for anyone with a busy schedule and in need of something far more cozy and quiet than a hotel. I was super pleased with this apartment. Kristi has put a lot of thought in making this place homey, yet easy to come and go. I will definitely consider this when I come back to Bellingham. Last, but not least, the bed was incredibly comfortable. Thanks Kristi!

    Bryan2016-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Kristi was awesome! She was always available for any questions that I had and she made it very clear that my comfort was a priority. The property was perfect. Quiet, clean, comfy and Kristi stocks the place with everything you can think of. I was especially impressed that she uses Mrs. Meyers cleaning products so the space smelled fresh and not chemically induced. I took the train to Bellingham from Seattle and Kristi's property is just up the hill from the depot so it's the perfect location for train and bus travelers. Historic Fairhaven was hopping with people and there were so many shops and restaurants to choose from. I didn't even venture into Bellingham proper. I was also close to walking/biking/hiking trails which are beautiful this time of year. Being from the South we get spoiled with our need for ceiling fans. Kristi had TWO beautiful vintage looking fans and I felt especially at home with that feature. The decor was very much Northwest in style and the bedding made it difficult to get up and out in the mornings. The perfect space to get-away and cocoon. I will be back!

    Stephanie2015-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fabulous home to enjoy Fairhaven. Everything is within walking distance. Kristi was easy to communicate with and everything about our stay went smoothly.

Our special place has offered a base for adventure, rejuvenation and re-connection and provided "Il Dolce Far Niente" - The Sweetness of Doing Nothing. Meeting accurate expectations is important to us, so please read our entire listing description before you send a booking request. Thank you!
Note: Meeting accurate expectations is very important to us, so please read our entire listing description before you send a booking request. Thank you! The Seaside Forest Studio shares the property with our home, and began as an artist's studio, every aspect custom designed. From the loft bed surrounded by windows, to the fully equipped kitchen, slate-tiled shower and red brick floors, everything was added with careful thought. This is a unique space! The Studio is 512 square feet with an added 60 feet in the sleeping area above. There is a queen-sized bed in a hanging loft, best for those comfortable climbing a ladder up and down, to sleep surrounded by windows and trees on all sides. There is also a Euro-lounger/sofa in the main room that folds into a comfortable full size bed, with a memory foam topper. The main room has a window seat, as well as a custom reading nook with games for all ages stored below. Peter's handmade beautiful, live-edge cedar table seats four (five, if you'd like). The kitchen is fully equipped with sink, stove, oven, refrigerator, and cooking implements. The bath has a full shower, beautifully tiled. The studio has both electric heat and a wood stove. There are two entryways, with a curved wood deck at the front entrance (and a large granite boulder to sit on as well). Parking is just outside the back door. We care about beauty, connection, real things, and the Studio reflects that; much of its features were made by us or locally sourced. You'll eat at Peter's table, hang your coat on a fir tree we found in our woods, use Aimee's homemade soap in the shower, see our art on the walls, sleep in a loft built by a dear friend, and enjoy a fire with wood from our property. A short walk down the driveway or steep beach trail offers views of both Chuckanut and Pleasant Bays (we live on a point, so there is water on both sides). Just up a winding brick path, you'll find the hot tub (older design, very simple) behind our house, on a deck under tall fir trees with peekaboo views of the water. Our property is a haven for wildlife: the studio is surrounded by a forest that's home to many kinds of birds, including raptors, owls, and songbirds. Raccoons and deer wander through, and we're close to the seashore where seals swim, herons squawk, and crabs scuttle under eelgrass forests. The Studio shares the forest with our home, so we're available for questions and concerns. Our house is situated on a knoll overlooking the water, while the studio is in the forest just below. The two structures are separated by a driveway and woods, out of sight of each other. We do share a common driveway, our cars blocked from the Studio's view by a neatly stacked woodpile. The Studio has many windows (with blinds), and we do drive and/or walk past the Studio when coming & going, . The Seaside Forest Studio is ideal for nature lovers, outdoor adventurers, and those who want unique accommodation in a beautiful natural setting.
With Chuckanut Mountain behind us and the Salish Sea in front, hikers, bikers, and kayakers will find easy access to all three activities from the studio. The Interurban Trail is just up the road. Heading south on the Interurban you'll reach the trails, lakes and seashore of 2683-acre Larrabee State Park in five minutes; walking north, you can stroll or bike five miles to town if you'd like, all on this forested trail overlooking the sea. Paddling west in a kayak you'll reach Chuckanut Island in 20 minutes. Our family have been the caretakers of this special place, owned by the Nature Conservancy, for years. The world renowned beauty of Chuckanut Drive is moments away – enjoy it by bicycle or car. Fairhaven is 10 minutes and downtown Bellingham is 20 minutes by car. If you'd like, you can touch a glacier and explore an island in the same day!
  • My wife and I had a great getaway at Aimee and Peter's studio. The studio itself is a well-appointed work of art and its location in the woods, between Chuckanut Drive and the water, was perfect. There was easy access to all the hiking trails in the area, plus it was a quick trip into historic Fairhaven and Bellingham proper. Also, Aimee and Peter were wonderful hosts and great communicators. I can definitely see staying here again in the future!

  • Amazing forest retreat right off of beautiful Chuckanut Drive. The interior was so tastefully decorated and furnished - it almost felt like we were staying in a magazine photo shoot. We'll be back!

  • Two words: A-mazing. My wife and I are airbnb rookies, but if our experience at Peter and Aimee's studio is any indication, we will be using it frequently in the future. The studio is close to Fairhaven/Bellingham, but not too close. We went into town for dinner both nights that we stayed there and it was an easy drive. We had intended to spend more time poking around Fairhaven, but the studio offered us everything we needed for a cozy, relaxing rainy day that we didn't want to leave. The lofted bedroom is just plain awesome, and a totally unique experience that gave us a relaxing wake up. The main loft area is spacious and tastefully designed, with no detail spared. The chairs are super comfortable and there are a couple of built-in reading nooks that are perfect for curling up with a book. Really, really comfortable. We took the trail down to the private beach and would recommend it if you're in for a light hike. It's a beautiful area and the water was like glass the day we were there. Just gorgeous. Thank you, Aimee and Peter, for a perfect retreat weekend!

  • The Frazier's are always welcoming and make a visit to their wonderful home a joyous occasion. It is the kind of place that you look forward to seeing again and telling friends and family about. This was not our first visit and hopefully not our last. The studio is a wonderful little place and great for a couple or a family if you rent the nearby Lookout as well.

    Joshua2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had an incredible time at Aimee and Peter's place. It's a gorgeous oasis in the woods and they were very welcoming. Would love to go back!

    Chloe2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Peter and Aimee's place. Highlights included numerous hikes at the nearby Chuckanut Mountain and short visits into Bellingham. We really appreciate finding dog-friendly rentals! Thanks for leaving all the maps for hiking trails and beaches. We would definitely return!

  • If you take the long way on the Chuckanut Drive you will discover how cool this area is. If you stick to the freeway you will miss all of the good things about Bellingham. The Studio is a great jumping off place for all of your adventures. Hiking, biking, kayaking, or just a sunset stroll along Boulevard Park are some of the things you can do close by. Yes the train will wake you, I was not bothered by it much. The train at times shakes the ground , and thus the building. I love trains, it kinda adds to the charm of the place. In my research I read about warnings about 19 trains a day. The hosts are upfront about the positives and negatives of the space. You can see a tiny bit of the sound from the property, but this Studio is designed for an enjoyment of the woods. Gus is not the only critter who will visit you as you relax and sip your tea. It was a pleasant surprise to look in all the drawers and cabinets to find a great assortment of tea, wine (I don't care about that) and even saltwater taffy. Bring slippers as the floor can be cold. Remember your "good" camera, so many chances for great photos.

    Don2017-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • we were looking to escape the city for a few days and this studio was perfect! it is nestled in the woods and is beautifully designed with an intention to exist within nature - minimal electricity, tons of windows, a sleeping loft with views of the canopy, a wood stove, and a lovely clothesrack shaped like a tree! we spent most of our days hiking on nearby trails and exploring the beaches, all of which are within walking distance of the studio. our only complaint would be the proximity of the train tracks. trains seemed to run every hour throughout the night and would startle us each time. the earplugs they supply may be helpful to others who stay here.

  • Nice spacious room in a quiet neighborhood. Exceedingly clean with comfortable big bedroom and a nice, modern bathroom. Mini-kitchen in room with fridge and coffee maker. Our hostess was lovely and sent us off with fruit from the trees in her yard.

  • Great experience; Laurie was a welcoming host, the place was comfortable, clean and well-equipped. Laurie provided snacks and coffee, as well as shampoo and other toiletries, which is more than I ever expect. Left Laurie's place hoping to find reason to visit Bellingham again this summer :)

  • We had a lovely stay. Very easy and convenient. We couldn't find a check out guide though, and I am very used to specific cleaning instructions for airbnbs, so hopefully we didn't mess that up. Otherwise a great stay!

Our studio is close to everything Bellingham has to offer. Just blocks from downtown, we are walking distance from nightlife, museums, restaurants, parks, and the waterfront. We know you'll dig the location! We love our Lettered Streets neighborhood, our view of the Bay, and proximity to all the good stuff. You'll feel at home with a private entrance, full kitchen, and washer/dryer. With tons of historic charm, yet a newly renovated space, this is the perfect spot to enjoy this quirky fun town!
This is the third floor of a 19th century home. There are two sets of stairs, and electronic locks to access your private studio. The studio has a full kitchen, and we provide the basics to cook simple items. If guests want to do more extensive cooking, we are happy to provide the tools, however we do not keep everything in the unit, nor do we keep any food or condiments. If you have the need for more specialty cooking tools, we ask that the guest communicates this need. This also goes for basic household items such as irons, hairdryers, etc. We are minimalists in many ways, but can always share/provide these items. We provide coffee and tea (Keurig) as well has a hot-pot for water. The space has a QUEEN size bed. The living room couch is a small futon that folds into a bed. We do not advertise this as a second bed because it is not a typical "bed". It has worked for many guests with children, or adults who don't mind their feet hanging off the edges. If you have questions about this additional bed, please message us.
Lettered Streets is an awesome neighborhood if you like to be close to downtown restaurants, bars, and businesses. We often walk to the farmers markets or to brunch, and appreciate that we are one of the closest neighborhoods to downtown Bellingham. We love all the breweries, tap-houses, and coffee shops that are blocks away from our house! It is also ideal because it is a short distance (less than a mile) from the waterfront and the Marina (Squalicum Harbor). The fact that we can walk less than a mile to the marina to inspect the yachts, watch the sunset at Zuanich park, or driftwood hunt along Squalicum Beach is a real luxury! We love our location so much, but we still feel it is important to note that because we are only blocks from downtown, parks, restaurants and the waterfront, we have some proximity to areas where the homeless population of Bellingham will congregate. As with any downtown area nationwide, homelessness is rising. It is unfortunate, but we cannot change this fact until certain systemic issues are addressed in our country. And Bellingham, even though picturesque and charming, shares the same disparity in living wage/home prices that the entire west coast is experiencing. However, we love living so close to downtown and have NO issues with our neighborhood. It is considered a desirable and very safe area to live. However, we like to give everyone a heads up... especially those folks that like to ignore that homelessness indeed exists in America. For more info on the Lettered Streets neighborhood feel free to visit: https://www.cob.org/services/planning/neighborhoods/Pages/lettered-streets.aspx
  • This is a lovely studio apartment with plants and tasteful touches. It was very clean, easy check-in and direct communication with the hosts. It is walking distance to many restaurants as well! Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you!

  • Lindsy and Eli's place was exactly what my boyfriend and I wanted for a quick weekend getaway. It was adorable and easy to get to and from the main Bellingham hub/ hiking areas. Would definitely recommend to others!

  • I loved this sweet place! It was a perfectly located cozy and funky home base for us when we came to Bellingham to tour WWU for our son. Great shower and comfy bed!

  • The place was so stylish and clean. I loved staying in a historic place in Bellingham, yet not too "old fashioned" because the upgrades very modern. Very cute place, great location. And wonderful suggestions of where to eat. I loved Bellingham and it makes it even more enjoyable with a great place to stay! Our hosts were very helpful. Definitely recommend.

  • Comfy, comfy bed. Great hosts, even though my meeting with Eli was brief because my check in was later in the evening. He greeted me at the door. I did have a card issue and the app would not update my payment. They were patient with the hiccup.

The "Aloha Suite" is the name we have given our guest room attached to the south end of our garage. It is a separate building near our home and shop building. The room's decor is tropical, with, we hope, the spirit of "aloha" present.
When our home was being built, we lived in the "Aloha Suite", a separate space on the south end of our garage. Since we moved into our home, the suite has been a haven for many guests.(URL HIDDEN)In the main room there are: a comfortable queen sized bed, reading chair, small dining table and chairs, bookshelves with reading material of local and travel interest, yoga mat, and TV with DISH satellite channels (and instructions), a Blu-ray player(URL HIDDEN) In the bathroom there is a shower; and towels and robes are provided. The "kitchenette": This nook in the corner of the main room contains a small refrigerator/freezer, glasses and dishes, basic food preparation items, electric tea kettle, "personal" blender, a choice of two coffee makers, a wide slot toaster, and a microwave. It is not a true kitchen equipped for lots of cooking and dish washing. We are happy to provide the use of our oven and to wash your dishes as needed. There is a laundry sink in the garage for washing large items. We have a barbecue grill on the porch that you may use. It is possible to move the furniture to accommodate a sleeping pad for another person or a baby bed. We have space outside for pitching a tent as well. On request, we can provide an iron and ironing board. We also have a selection of movies and board games you are welcome to borrow.
We live in a quiet, wooded rural area on a road with five homes and nice neighbors. We do get fog and deer crossing the roads, so be alert, especially at night. Please look over the detailed instructions to get here, as GPS may not bring you right to our driveway. We are a 15-20 minute drive from downtown Bellingham and several other communites-Ferndale, Lynden, Everson, and Deming. We have cell phone coverage here, but if you don't for some reason, you are welcome to use our land line for calls.
  • This was a wonderful place to stay! Terry and Kerry were both very welcoming and accommodating. Their home was beautiful and well kept and their garden was lovely. The location was perfect with lots of places to be outdoors and close enough to downtown Bellingham to visit some cool stores and restaurants. Super cozy and comfy place to stay!

    Alison2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Another great stay at the Aloha Suite! We were welcomed with homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and enjoyed chatting with both Terry & Kerry over coffee. Wonderful hosts and beautiful, relaxing surroundings!

    Jen2016-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I greatly enjoyed the accommodations as well as the hosts. If we stay in the area again anytime soon, we'll certainly be checking Terry and Kerry's place first!

    Haley2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Aloha suite is a home away from home. Terry has thought of everything you might need, and communicates perfectly. There was coffee and cookies, a well equipped kitchenette, and an attractive Hawaiian decor, exactly as depicted. Thoughtful, but unobtrusive labels to help you find everything or figure out how things work. You need a car to stay here, but the trip to town is not far and well worth the peace and quiet. Most affordable hotels in Bellingham are right beside the noisy I-5. Would love to return for a longer stay.

    Diane2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful oasis. A hospitable greeting, and fresh cookies upon arrival. It was a wonderfully relaxing stay, here at the Aloha Suite. The bed was extremely comfy and the Hawaiian inspired decor was the perfect atmosphere for a pseudo "island getaway" here in the PNW. I highly recommend!! Thank you Terry and Kerry!

    Alyssa2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Terry and her husband are kind and warm. Their space is beautiful, cozy, relaxing and very clean. I highly recommend their space for a weekend getaway.

    Jennifer2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • It's easy to see why Terry and Kerry are such popular hosts. We very much enjoyed our stay and feel that we made an excellent choice.

    Curt2017-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Aloha Suite is a very special place. The room is comfortable and clean, and feels like a collection of memories from many happy and restful vacations. The bed is so comfortable. The tall trees and lovely garden create a quietness scented with cedar that speak tranquillity. Terry is the perfect hostess. Thanks a million!

Enjoy this cheery light filled space with a separate kitchen. Located close to Fairhaven, WWU, Downtown Bellingham, and trails that lead to Chuckanut Mtn, the bay and WWU. Let this be your hub for all you want to experience while in Whatcom County.
This space is attached to the main house where I live. There is an always locked door in the hallway between the two spaces for privacy. There are 3 different rooms which make it more than a traditional studio. The large room has a queen bed and a sitting area. There is an outside entrance to this room with a low deck that looks over the backyard and the garden. This is a great place to sit and watch the sunset. There are 3 steps up from this room into the hallway. Off the hallway there is a bathroom with a large shower (no tub) and another room for a small kitchen with a microwave, a countertop convection toaster oven, a refrigerator, a hot pot and an assortment of cooking and eating dishes and utensils. There is a second outside entrance into the kitchen. I provide tea as well as coffee beans with a grinder and a drip system with an insulated carafe. I also have basic condiments such as mustard, ketchup, vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper. I have added an option for a third guest with the use of a 4" foam trifold single size mattress that could be placed on the floor next to the queen bed. This is for guests that want to bring a child or friends that may not want to share the queen bed. Please be aware that this is not a real bed and choose this option with that knowledge.
Wren House is conveniently located close to many popular locations. We are 1 mile from a 24-hour major grocery store in a shopping center with a pharmacy, restaurants, hardware, and REI. We are 1.5 miles from Fairhaven with many shops and restaurants, 1.5 miles from WWU, 2.5 miles to downtown Bellingham with shops, restaurants and award-winning brew pubs, and just 2 blocks to a Greenways Trail that takes you to the Chuckanut Mountains or to Bellingham Bay or WWU.
  • We booked very last min and Sue was very accommodating in order to make our visit possible. Very happy with the place. There was a lovely double shower that is wonderful for couples and she had breakfast bars, tea, half and half and fresh Tony's coffee for our breakfast! Love the cozy feel of the cottage and couldn't have been happier with the price! Thank you thank you thank you Sue!

    Chris2016-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Wren House was the perfect spot to stay while in the area for a wedding. The space felt private and it was so nice having a little kitchenette and private bathroom. The view from the bedroom and porch is absolutely beautiful and feels so peaceful and private. We loved the Wren House!

    Kelsey2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • This studio was clean, peaceful, comfortable and had everything my boyfriend and I needed and more, including breakfast cookies, organic instant oatmeal, and helpful local trail maps. Sue was a great host. She was friendly and responded instantly to questions/requests. Highly recommended.

  • Sues place is beautiful, honey and comfortable. Gardens gave a peaceful "country" feel to a place near and convenient to everything"city". Great spot!

    Alaine2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sue has amazing attention to detail. She even left cream in the fridge for morning coffee. There we cards around the room with instructions to gain access to the internet. Her bed was very comfortable. I would definitely stay at Wren House again.

    Bob2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Friendly host, clean space, good location, would recommend the Wren House Studio.

    Rob2016-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely adored this place and wish I had been able to stay longer. The place is easy to find yet is private and relaxing. There is a little kitchenette where Sue has put local coffee and condiments which was really helpful. The bathroom is clean and had plenty of towels, shampoo etc. The bedroom is great. You have an entire closet to use and the bed is very comfortable. There's a little porch to sit on where you can drink coffee and overlook her beautiful garden. I was so incredibly happy with this place!

    Alyssa2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed for two nights to attend my sister's wedding nearby in Alger. My sister had previously lived in two different homes just down the road so I was pretty familiar with the neighborhood already. Finding the home was a bit of a trick, but from that point on everything was pretty smooth, and the unit was clean and well equipped. Though we mostly popped in to crash, it was a nice calm place to recover in the evening and to get ready there next morning. We enjoyed checking out the chickens on the property between coming and going. Thanks, Sue!

This cozy cottage retreat sits on our small, organic farm just 20 minutes north of downtown Bellingham and 53 miles from the Mt Baker recreation area. We have trails right next door, road biking on quiet roads and up the hill from a wetlands and birders paradise.
This is a very comfy cottage retreat surrounded by gardens and artist studio. The little house is a one room studio with a new queen mattress, a twin platform mattress and a floor single mattress can be added for a third or fourth guest. All are made up with cotton sheets and warm comforters and/or quilts. The heating is super cozy and efficient with radiant ceiling panels just installed! The kitchen is fully equipped with a full size refrigerator, stove and oven. Included are servings for four guests ~ all the essentials plus coffee maker, electric tea pot, toaster, blender, hot beverage choices of coffee and tea with the basics of sugar and honey. The bathroom has a tub and shower with fresh towels and basic supplies as well as a full size washer and dryer. We have lots of books, games and puzzles for kids and adults (request for more) and lots of local resource guides.
Very quiet, green, lush countryside, lots of wildlife, adjoining horse farms on either side of our little farm and very close to incredible hiking, climbing, skiing and bicycling. Also only 20 minutes from beautiful downtown Bellingham with shopping, restaurants and entertainment.
  • Great location, beautiful little place!

    Gabby2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautiful and cozy, perfect for a couple, a few friends, or small family looking for a quiet getaway. I went with two friends and we enjoyed spending the morning drinking coffee and relaxing in the bright, comfy space.

  • Debra's little cottage was the perfect place to act as our "home base" for our busy wedding weekend. We only wish we could have spent more time there to truly relax and enjoy their friendly animals and yummy fruit (we did snag a few apples for the trip home!). I would stay there again and I recommended the place to some of the wedding guests as a fun local retreat.

    Susan2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Debra's place outside of Bellingham. Such a peaceful experience to get away from a city for a few nights.

    Adam2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Debra's cottage was an absolute dream and she truly went above and beyond to make my stay as cozy as possible! Everything was incredibly clean, the bed was super comfy and there were so many personal touches that made me feel really welcomed.. you can feel how much love and attention Debra and her family put into this cottage and it was such a treat to experience. My only regret during my stay was not having more time to spend relaxing here and soaking in her lovely property! I had the pleasure of chatting with Debra for a few minutes during my stay and she is so sweet! I would absolutely recommend Debra's cottage to anyone visiting Everson and really hope to stay here again soon!!

    Amanda2015-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy is just the right word to describe this cottage. It certainly feels like a carefully crafted space and reflects the peaceful environment of the entire property. Debra was very helpful and always quick to respond. She left a personal note to welcome my husband and I to the cabin, along with chocolate, farm fresh eggs, and local coffee. I appreciated that both comfort and conscientiousness were obvious values: food scraps were composted, appliances efficient, and toiletries were high quality and provided as full size bottles to use as needed and leave for the next guests.

    Jessica2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in this lovely cottage for three months while traveling for work. It was a great experience. Debra was very accommodating and made my stay very comfortable. It was everything I could hope it would be. I truly felt at home during my time here. If you are looking for something quiet and relaxing this is the place to stay!

    Sara2016-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place! The cottage is adorable and the kitchen has all the things you need to make your meals. The location is great as it's just a short drive to Bellingham, but you feel like you are out in the country. Lovely place.

A lovely, private, light-filled room in our home, with a private entrance, bath, and basic kitchenette. It's in a quiet neighborhood, close to downtown, backing up to green space, and steps away from hiking and biking trails.
Zen Oasis is a large bedroom with a private entrance and bath in the back of our single-story family home which borders Whatcom Falls Park. It is clean, bright, comfortable, and simply furnished with a queen bed, chair, small table and chairs, and dresser drawers. There is a private deck with two chairs for lounging in the fresh outdoors where you can listen to the birds and nearby Whatcom Creek and waterfalls. It is best suited for shorter stays of up to one week. There is no access to the main house and no cooking facilities, but there is a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, electric kettle, and dishes and utensils for take-out or ready-made meals in the room. Tea and coffee are provided. Zen Oasis is a great place for: - solitude, respite and communing with nature - a comfortable, clean and convenient stay for business or travel - proximity to walking and biking trails - a quiet night's sleep after a busy day of exploring. Zen Oasis may not be great for: - children under 5 years old - late-sleepers (there is a skylight in the room which makes for light-filled mornings.)
Whatcom Falls Heights is the perfect urban neighborhood - close to downtown (just a 10 minute drive or 30 minute bike ride), but with the quiet of the woods and park to make you feel you're far away. Enjoy miles of walking trails through Whatcom Falls Park - the jewel of the city - with a park entrance just a short walk down the street. Bring your bike and explore the Railroad Trail system which runs through the park and takes you all the way downtown in one direction (about three miles each way) or over to Lake Whatcom in the other direction (about a mile).
  • We had a great time in Zen Oasis. Kirsten and Jeff were wonderful hosts. We were in Bellingham for a national trail running race and weather was pretty bad and stormy for that weekend. Kirsten was so kind to give us the option of cancelling without any penalties right before the race. My husband would have raced no matter what the weather was going to be. She sent us the local weather information which was helpful.

    Parisa2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Located on the edge of Whatcom Falls Park, this home is in a lovely, peaceful and green area perfect for morning or evening walks. Kirsten and Jeff have provided everything you could need. The place is tranquil, tasteful and spotless. Although there is no kitchen, there is a wonderful Coop in town as well as a Whole Foods nearby. Kirsten is a kind host and ZenOasis was a perfect place to relax and unwind at the end of busy days.

    Charles2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting, clean and inviting! The bed was amazing! So comfrey! Haven't slept that well in a long time. Then breakfast cookies, coffee and tea in the morning. Even a pitcher of filtered water in the fridge! Wish we were staying another night! Thank you Kristin and Jeff!

    Teresa2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you!

    Erik2017-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsten gave really thorough directions to get to the Airbnb and the checkin process felt easy and seamless. The place is peaceful, clean, and welcoming. We loved the fact that it was nearby the hustle and bustle of Fairhaven and literally steps from Whatcom Falls Park. Great hosts! Great location! Highly recommend.

  • Love this spot! It is an oasis. Kirsten and Jeff were great hosts. I felt comfortable and relaxed. Loved my stay!

    Paige2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, clean, cozy room about 5 minutes away from a wonderful little park with waterfalls! The private entrance and bathroom made this a hassle free, no fuss stay! Thank you so much Kirsten and Jeff!

    Lanae2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay this weekend at this Airbnb. The hosts have done a great job with the place. The walkway to the room is well kept and very beautiful. The back deck is well placed to be secluded from the host's deck. The room has a skylight which was a nice touch. Sleeping and waking with the sun was a nice way to reset and add to the 'zen'. I would definitely book this place again. The Zen Garden is in a great location in Bellingham. The proximity to the park is especially nice. The hosts have magazines, maps, and suggestions to make your trip enjoyable. The hosts were easy to book and communicate with.

A unique house in downtown Historic Fairhaven which has been converted into a working micro-brewery. A block away from local amenities, including boutique shops & great restaurants. You can easily hop on to the inter-urban trail which links parks, fantastic hiking, biking & downtown Bellingham. Fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi & a tasty, craft ale is only a step away.
Our cozy home is also home to a small micro-brewery which is housed in shipping containers in the back yard. Guests are welcome to use the backyard which has a fire pit, or the patio upstairs which gets lots of sun to eat their meals. The detached garage has been converted into our taproom, so a tasty ale, created on site is never far away. The bedroom is in the back of the house. It is surprisingly quiet, so you won't be disturbed by patrons of the brewery. In fact, there is the constant gurgling sound of a running stream, which is actually our glycol system that is used to cool our beer and walk-in cooler. The kitchen is fully equipment, including a gas range so you can cook to your hearts delight. There is coffee and tea readily available too. The window above the kitchen sink looks out on to the front beer garden of the brewery. You can always create some privacy by closing the blinds. The dated bathroom has a shower tub, which is stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, toothpaste, first aid kit and most importantly with a tub....soothing bubble bath! The lounge/living area is our biggest space. It receives a lot of light and looks out on to the front street, and a window faces the front beer garden. Again, there are blinds, curtains and sheer curtains to create more privacy for yourself, if you so desire. You can hear the murmur of conversations in the front beer garden. The comfy couch in the living room opens up into sleeper bed. Stairs go upstairs to our office space. There is a door that creates privacy for you downstairs; however, the house is a little squeaky, so you will hear foot steps upstairs as we access the space during office hours and occasionally in the evening to access our merchandise stock for the brewery. We only access the office space through the brewery, and never via your space downstairs.
Our micro-brewery home is located one block from downtown Historic Fairhaven. There are beautiful boutique shops just a stroll around the corner, and great restaurants with some excellent happy hours & food. Obviously, we think Stones Throw Brewery is the best place for a beer, but if you want wine or cocktails we love visiting the Black Cat. Access to the Inter-Urban Trail is across the road. You can bike south towards Fairhaven Park (5min), Arroyo Park (15-20min), Larrabee State Park (45min) or you can bike/walk north into downtown Bellingham which takes you out over the water along the Taylor Dock Board Walk and past Woods Coffee. Talk to us if you are interested in using a bike - we have one available for you. In the summer time the Community Boating Center is open and you can easily rent a paddle board/paddle boat for some fun sightseeing on Bellingham Bay. A block and a half away you will find our local grocery store, Haggens. Very convenient.
  • Cozy home in the heart of Fairhaven with all the beer you can drink right at your finger tips!

    Lauren2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, good valued tidy place to stay in. Super easy to check in since it is right next to/on top of a small pub. My daughter and I enjoyed the music selection on the stereo provided and it was awesome to just be a few steps away from a tasty IPA :)

    Paul2018-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Probably the coziest Air BnB ever. The fire place and Harry Potter bed are wonderful touches. Plus, no tv, so you can really just relax and hang out. Stones Throw is also a wonderful brewery with outstanding brews, a cozy atmosphere, and great people. You'll feel right at home.

    Brenna2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • So cozy! Very clean and supplied with everything we needed. Great location! I would definitely stay here again.

    Chelsea2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nadine's place was exactly what we needed for this weekend! She and her husband were so accommodating and made our stay easy! The communication was excellent and we will keep this place in mind for our next overnight stay in Bellingham.

    Annemarie2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Really clean, cozy, nice place. Very convenient location - we walked to the grocery store and loved cooking our meals in the kitchen. Plus, we enjoyed the beer and the fire pit at the brewery. Fairhaven is such a fun area to explore, and you are within walking distance of everything. I will stay here again on future trips.

    Lynn2018-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Nadine's. We had everything we needed and had help when we asked. Otherwise we were left to do our own thing. The location is superb - near the ocean and in walking distance of downtown Victoria. There is also a bus stop right outside the house!! I would certainly recommend anyone to go there. Many thanks, Nadine.

    Lorna2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We were just here one night on our way up to Canada. The apartment was very spacious and Nadine was extremely clear about how to check in, check out, etc. Bellingham is a great town and I wish we would have had more time to check out the cafes, bars, and shops.

  • As advertised; waterfront view and quite comfortable! We had limited time to enjoy these, as we were there for an event at the Samish Island Community Center a few minutes down the road. Shopping isn't close; come with your groceries, as we did. Arrival instructions were easy. Thanks to Richard and Sue for their hospitality!

    Sherry2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Richard and Sue are wonderful, welcoming hosts and their apartment is perfect. We wanted a comfortable, relaxing place to unwind after some hiking and got just that. It has a beautiful view and the location is ideal for exploring the area. The kayaks available are the perfect way to get out on the water, and we were able to take advantage of one of the last days of summer by having dinner outside on the deck. The nearby towns of Bow and Edison have some very yummy foodie spots, allowing us to enjoy delicious brunches, lunches, and lots of oysters! Sue and Richard were also very helpful with recommendations and very flexible when we wanted to add a day onto our stay!

    Susanna2011-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect place to stay for a quick getaway from Seattle. Quiet location on the water. Views and surrounding area are beautiful. Close to the town of Edison and Chuckanut Drive. Sue and Richard were great hosts and made us feel welcome.

    Karen2015-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Richard and Sue were both wonderful and so helpful. They had great recommendations for the nearby town of Edison and Richard even taught me (and lent me the materials) to dig up my own bucket of clams for dinner. The apartment was immaculate and chalked-full of any and everything you could think to want. You can't beat the peacefulness of the Puget Sound or the humbling view. I would recommend this spot to all!

    Maggie2011-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying with Richard and Sue. We love their place, appreciate the hospitality, and enjoy the quiet and rural feeling of the area. Of course, it is always a bonus to have great eating options not to far away. Thanks again for a lovely visit!

    Carrie2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect getaway yet conveniently located to discover the Skagit Valley. The broad water view is simply to die for. Comfortable and charming space. Despite the lack of a "real", kitchen, we managed to cook 3 perfect meals there. We had raw oysters from Taylor Shell Fish Farm one night, and Blau Oyster another night. Cooked fresh clams with garlic, tomatoes, shallot, and white wine with olive oil purchased from Fairhaven in the skillet. Yum! Another night we grilled a nice steak and sweet potato on the grill, served with a farm to table salad. Perfect. Just a note, the oysters we got from Taylor were small and tasty. The ones from Blau were large and milky (even though they call it extra small). Lots of great restaurants close by. Your hosts Richard and Sue will have lots of ideas for you. Thank you and we will be back.

    Flora2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was my boyfriend and I first Airbnb experience and it was fantastic, Richard and Sue are fantastic hosts. The apartment is even more charming then I expected. The view is also amazing. We loved watching the tide come up in the morning. Richard was so kind to take us out on his boat to pull his crab pots. We had a great time doing that. They were also fantastic company that afternoon as we enjoyed the view from their deck. Sue and Richard are very nice people. Sue shared some amazing tart that we also greatly enjoyed. The space is perfect for a couple looking for somewhere to relax and smell the fresh sea air. The town of Bow is also cute with some fun little shops and a great bakery. We had an amazing time and hope to visit again. I highly recommend this lovely place.

    Amy2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem. Beautiful views, beautiful indoor space, and wonderful hosts. Everything was clean and convenient. Richard was super helpful in providing anything we needed, including lots of helpful knowledge. We had easy access to beaches and there are paths in the community for beautiful walks. We loved watching the wildlife--including seals and herons. We loved our stay and only wish it could have been longer. We highly recommend this home and look forward to coming back!

    Suan2018-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our stay was perfect. Walking down to the cabin felt like we were walking in a dream, nestled against the backdrop of the trees and hillside. We could tell everything had been well thought out-From the placement of the bathtub right next to the patio to the tree trunks winding up the staircase lit with tiny LED lights. It was all wonderfully romantic and special. We enjoyed the fire pit as well! We were even able to cook our breakfast out there one morning! I was a bit hesitant about using the outhouse but after staying here I would rename it to a yeshouse. It was so well maintained, clean, little to no bugs and a good system for keeping creatures and smells at bay (thanks sawdust!). This was exactly the getaway we were looking for and then some. We hope to come back soon :)

    Samira2016-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in this little cabin. It was warm and heated when we arrived, it was very clean, and there was plentiful food that supplemented the boring food we had brought along! We fell asleep to the peaceful sound of rain on the roof, feeling comfortable and at home in the cabin. There was a charming creative touch to the cabin's construction and decor. The bath outside was awesome. It was near freezing outside, but the bath had seemingly unlimited very hot water. Could stay in there for hours! We went and checked out a rushing creek and some beautiful quiet woods on the property as well. Overall, a great and rejuvenating place to spend a weekend!

    Trevor2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • A gem of a place. This is a little, well-equipped wooden cabin hidden far away from civilization. We were pleasantly surprised that the kitchen, though small, was extremely well-stocked. The cabin, including the outhouse, was clean and functional. We slept to the sounds of hooting owls and woke up to chittering birds. It truly is a place to relax and unwind. There is a short trail that leads to a creek, and also a pen of turkey and chickens nearby. It is such an adorable place and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly.

  • The Tiny House Cabin was our favorite stop during our honeymoon trip. We were impressed with Michelle and Peter's attention to detail to make our stay at the cabin comfortable and memorable. We enjoyed the quiet, peaceful location and felt cozy and safe. The property is extremely well maintained and clean. We especially appreciated the extra amenities in the kitchen. Hopefully we can come back again and stay longer.

Our place is walking distance to Historic Fairhaven, Western Washington University, parks, restaurant dining, a local brewery, art and culture, and great views. You’ll love our place because of the gardens, the peacefulness tranquility. It is a delight of both flowers, vegetables and birds. The Garden Suite has a cozy cottage rural feeling within a quiet neighborhood, and the location offers all that a small village can, with a city nearby.
Our space is cozy, about 200 sq. ft. Warning for people over 6'4", there are low ceilings, you may have to duck in the doorways. The Garden Suite is comfortable for one or two people. The bed is a cotton-filled, slightly smaller full futon with an ergonomically sprung frame and has an adjustable head rest. A memory foam mattress pad and a down comforter in the winter will be cozy for your night's rest. The living space includes a bedroom-sitting area, kitchen, entry way-eating and work area and a bathroom. Although attached to the main house, the Garden Suite has a private entrance and overlooks a quiet garden space. The birds are a joy anytime of year. We do appreciate a quiet home environment, with that said, Derek is a working musician and we love to spend time with our grandkids, so you might hear acoustic music and laughter through the walls. Although our space accommodates two, if you have more than two adults or children, please let us know so we can provide extra sleeping gear. There will be an extra person charge of $10 each person after 2, children under 12 are free of charge. The furnace is regulated in the main house, and provides heat to the suite, however we do provide an extra space heater and fan for your comfort. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and we provide breakfast items such as, coffee, a selection of teas, granola, milk, juice and fruit. Please ask if there is something you need for cooking that is not provided. There is no TV, a CD/ radio player is provided. The Garden Suite is next door to the Adorable Fairhaven Studio apartment so we can accommodate larger groups with our neighbors. If you need more space for friends and family let us know and we'll try and accommodate you. We do have a no pet policy, but if you must bring your pet along, please contact us before your visit. A pet fee will apply, $10. Please use the back yard garden spaces as they were your own. The back yard has quiet places to relax, and can be used at any time. We generally use the front gardens for our own use, and occasionally will be in the back working in the garden areas. A small garden patio outside the suite is for your use. Our house is smoke free and we would appreciate if you smoke outside only. Thank you!
The Southside, Happy Valley, Fairhaven neighborhood offers it's residents and guests many enjoyable and convenient amenities. Walking distance to the Alaskan Ferry terminal, Greyhound bus and train terminal, Western Washington University, Fairhaven Village, Taylor Dock and Boulevard Park, the Interurban trails of Chucknut Mt.(for biking and hiking), Haggen grocery store, and several restaurants and boutiques. Despite all this activity, our neighborhood is quiet, friendly and colorful, for walking, jogging or relaxing. The birds are plentiful, look for the bird book in the suite.
  • Laura and Derek were great hosts. Their place is very cozy and clean in the middle of their backyard garden, what more could somebody ask for? Also great location, just a few minutes walk from the supermarket and nearby restaurants. But who needs to buy, or go out for, food if you host already has some for you in the kitchen in the form of fresh fruits juices and milk :). Thank you so much for sharing your place with me.

    Randy2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Derek's garden suite is a little slice of heaven. I recommend staying at places like this over traditional hotels to truly experience what a community is all about. Laura was accommodating about my schedule and need for a slightly earlier check in. I had my first experience using an espresso coffee maker and I was pleasantly surprised that I turned up a great cup of coffee. My schedule and date with the Orcas didn't leave me really any time to socialize with Derek and Laura, but they're wonderful people.

    Victoria2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Derek were great to communicate with before our trip. The Garden Suite was incredibly comfortable and had everything we could've asked for. It was very quiet and wonderful waking up to the birds and beautiful garden. Thanks so much!

    Cara2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We came up to Bellingham for a wedding. Check in was a breeze. The garden suite was exactly as described. It was the perfect tranquil resting spot for our quick trip through town.

  • What a lovely place to stay. Will definitely be back!

    Annika2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Breathtakingly beautiful space. Laura and Derek have a uniquely designed living space that will make any guest feel like they are home. Small but spacious area that will fill you with inspiration, joy, and peace. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time appreciating their art and felt nothing but happiness while we stayed the night. If you are looking for a peaceful get away from the world this is a place where you can rest!

    Javier2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Derek were away for the weekend, but we connected by phone to get directions regarding entering the property. The neighborhood is wonderful, and their place feels like a magical and cozy tree house, even though it's not actually in the trees. It was smaller than I had interpreted from the pictures, but that's what made it magical, honestly. The birds and the wind chimes in the garden added to the effect and left us feeling relaxed and serene. The location is perfectly situation to be easy walking to downtown, which we did several times, and the price was great. We also really appreciated being able to reserve just one night and not have to commit to 2 or more to be eligible to stay.

    Kimberly2016-09-11T00:00:00Z

Check the lummi-island web page. In Kundalini yoga, we use specific sequences of postures/movements, breath and mantra (called kriyas) that when done together create a particular beneficial effect in the body. These sets help balance the glandular system and strengthen the nervous system as well as stretch and strengthen muscles and ligaments. Other benefits of a practice can include an improvement in immunity and energy levels; stress reduction; and more balance and clarity for the mind. I have been a student of yoga for 15+ years. Traditions I’ve studied include Hatha, Kundalini, Anusara and Viniyoga. I was first introduced to Kundalini yoga in 2002. Interested in learning more about how this form of yoga worked, I completed the 220 hour Level 1 Kundalini yoga Teacher Training Program at YogaWest in Vancouver, B.C. and received my teaching certification in 2011. I’ve finished one (Mind & Meditation) of five modules towards Level 2 certification. My practice is also influenced by studying w/ teachers from other traditions, mainly Rod Stryker (Hatha) and Tias Little (Lyengar & Hatha). I have a background in biology & ecology and love to share the science behind yoga while not losing touch with its more mystical qualities.
  • Jennifer's cottage on Lummi Island was the absolute perfect retreat. The pictures do not do the natural beauty of the cottages location justice. It is breathtaking, and the sunsets are incredible. We could not have had a more comfortable stay. We hiked in bakers park which is a short drive from the cottage, and made delicious tuna steaks on the outdoor grill. I cannot recommend this stay more; it was a perfect retreat.

  • The cottage was beautiful with lovely decoration and pretty much everything that you'll need while staying there, which is very thoughtful of the host. The view was stunning, and the beach was literally at your feet. Overall our stay at the cottage was very relaxing and pleasant.

    Yujing2016-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We cannot wait to go back and we want to tell all our friends! Jennifer was the perfect host, gave us information about the island, local things to do and reminded us about the ferry fees. The house was perfect. The pictures can't do it justice in my opinion. We loved the wood fireplace, the jetted tub, the gorgeous views and the super comfy bed. All the little details were thought of and provided a fun surprise - things you don't need but you'll love!

    Marcellina2016-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what an amazing place! We came here for a cozy long weekend and were not disappointed! The living room has wall-to-wall windows facing a stunning view of the San Juan Islands. The beds were very comfortable, the tub (with jets!) was fabulous, and there was plenty of wood for the wood stove. Communication with Jennifer was great. I highly recommend!

    Torrey2015-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a weekend getaway. Can't wait to return.

    Kyle2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Rain, snow, or sunshine, it's a great place to watch it all.

    Robert2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Hands down the best Airbnb I've stayed at! The views from the cottage are amazing, the set up of the cottage are more than accommodating, and Jennifer's response to any questions were answered promptly. The perfect blend of relaxation and being able to stay connected to the world (if you want to...) Would and already have recommended the Cottage by the Sea to friends and family.

    Richard2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Just like the pictures. A bald eagle was practically doing laps in front of us. Jennifer is a terrific host and the house and location are lovely.

  • Kathryn & her family were awesome!! Their cottage and surrounding yard is beautiful, cozy and very well set-up. We walked from the train station which was easy and convenient. Our daughter fell in love with their children right away and Kathryn and her husband were generous and helpful. I hope we get to stay here again!

  • as usual, my time at kathryn & family's house was excellent. driving there i felt like i was going to an old friends! i like everything about their place....even the occasional train whistle. the bed is wonderful & having a bathroom upstairs and downstairs is super nice! the off leash dog park is only a block away and so handy!

    Larry2014-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding on all fronts! The guesthouse was more than perfect, such a nice place I could live in that cottage in a heartbeat. Kathryn and family were wonderful, Buttercup was a hoot… The location was could not have been better for my visit; I was able to walk to all my commitments. I cannot say enough good things, this was my first Airbnb venture, it could not have been better. THANK YOU!!!

    Dana2015-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely beautiful. The neighborhood is perfect and Kathryn's instructions make it really easy to get there. There's an off-lease dog park right across the street, there's plenty of parking, and the place could easily sleep four or more. It was spacious and well-equipped. We loved this spot and have already recommended it to several friends!

    Hanna Brooks2016-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • We were warmly greeted by Kathryn and her family (including friendly pets). The cabin is very cozy and inviting, especially on a cool rainy day. The full kitchen and gas fireplace made it hard to go out in the rain! Fresh flowers in vases, the cabin's rustic quality, unique spiral staircase, and loft, make it a "one of a kind" experience. We also liked how close it was to Fairhaven's downtown area and the Marine park on the ocean. Overall, it was a very relaxing weekend and we will definitely stay there again!

    Kaye2014-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • This comfortable, cozy cabin is ideally located a short walk from the Fairhaven district and a short drive from I-5, in an interesting neighborhood. While it's in the backyard of the owners, they manage to be at the same time unobtrusive but available for assistance. However, we are old school enough to enjoy reading books in bed, and there was no provision for that, in terms of bedside tables/lamps on both sides of the bed. We have already discussed this with the owners, and I'm betting they come up with a simple solution for oldsters like us.

    David2015-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We regret to say that our stay was plagued by many unexpected obstacles & feel that the cabin was insufficiently prepared , i.e., smell of moist upon entry, lack of cutlery & glassware, stained seats, wobbly kitchen table causing spills, improvised bathing in a too small tub hindered by curtains to freely shower, for a comfortable stay of 3 adults. Absent host presence at 9pm local time & lack of posted cabin use instructions including where to find bed linen for the unmade pullout sofa, location of internet cable access, et cetera was fully unexpected. Also, no mention of train noise throughout the nite would have been a deciding factor for looking at a different place. We find that the price for the lack of comfort offered is overpriced. Saskia & guests

    Saskia2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Love this space and location close to dog walks and Old Fairhaven. The cabin is sweet and funky and Kathryn is a gem. We will be back!!

Our TINY HOUSE is perfect for a unique experience or a creative alternative to a traditional hotel room. The comfortable outdoor space and views gives one the feeling of "glamping" in a country setting yet close to all Bellingham has to offer. This TINY HOUSE is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). Length of stay is limited to two weeks due to the small space. Exceptions possible upon request.
This TINY HOUSE is small...but oh so cute and functional! We have packed 2 full sized beds, wifi, a fully flushing toilet and a claw foot tub/shower, Smart TV, kitchenette and a table with two chairs all within 120 square feet! The covered porch adds to the space and an in-wall heater allows the cabin to be used year round. The 3 inch, full sized memory foam mattress in the loft is best suited for children who are fully proficient going up and down ladders or small adults 5'5" or smaller. The space is tight and the ladder is steep and can be tricky. Cooking in the cabin is kept to a minimum due to the lack of space and ventilation. Inside the cabin, you have access to a small microwave, refrigerator, toaster oven, coffee pot, and electric hot water pot. Outdoors, there is a fire pit and coal Webber BBQ. I encourage you to bring your own outdoor camp stove and cookware if you desire more cooking options. To help the ventilation indoors, we encourage you to keep the window open, the bathroom door cracked and and the fan in the bathroom on as often as possible. We have hung a clothes line on the porch to help with drying items. If you're traveling with an infant, your portable playpen can fit next to the bed if the table and chairs are moved to the covered porch.
The cabin is tucked back into the trees, but we still need to respect our wonderful neighbors by keeping the noise to a minimum. During the warm months when the windows are open, you might hear a little road noise. Also, we have many wild birds that can make quite a ruckus in the morning. We are located at the end of a Private Lane and in respect of our neighbors, we ask that you drive 5 MPH or less down the driveway.
  • Mike and Laura were wonderful with communication even though we only met Laura briefly as we were leaving! The Tiny house was really clean and cozy, and they left us some of their tasty homemade granola to snack on :) They were very kind and helpful with directions and things to do, and even offered us snowshoes to use for the day.

  • Mike and his wife Laura were awesome! Set up a beutiful setting to make home for a bit. Very generous and helpful! But also weren't too involved. They really made sure you were set and had everything you could think of! Even yogurt, coffee and homemade granola :)

Our conveniently located urban farm—complete with chickens and plenty of vegetable and flower gardens—is within walking distance of downtown Bellingham, where you'll find a wide array of restaurants, coffee shops, live music venues, art exhibits, nightlife, public transport and much more. Our garden-view daylight basement apartment is great for couples, solo adventurers, friends, business travelers or someone needing a place to stay while they explore their own options for living here.
The York neighborhood is a historic one, and so is Nelson's Market, the grocery store and restaurant just up the street from us. If you walk around the neighborhood, you'll see plenty of Victorian-era houses like ours (which was built in 1900). From here, it's a 10- or 15-minute walk to the downtown core.
  • We had a fantastic stay at Amy's home. She was very accommodating with early check-in, and provided fresh eggs from their chickens. The lower unit is spacious and has all of the necessities -- towels, silverware and dishes... even laundry. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

    Joe2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice clean place - Amy was welcoming and we had a nice stay. Easy access off of highway, well worth it

    Jim2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Amy's. The location could not of been more convenient. Close to shopping, downtown and the university. The space is even bigger then the pictures make it look. Yard was beautiful and the chickens were a delight. My group had 3 different airbnb spaces. Amy's was the one everyone said they would go back to.

    Elizabeth2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fully functioning basement apartment in a neighborhood with easy access by foot or car to downtown Bellingham. Great place, lovely people, and there are chickens and rabbits in the yard! We were just there for one night, but will be back for sure. It's a good spot for friends traveling together, too, as there's a sofa bed, so two people can share the space without having to share a bed.

    Sara2016-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • This house is situated very conveniently. Just a short walk from downtown Bellingham and a quick hop off of the freeway. The yard is gorgeous with a few chickens and well landscaped. A green Oasis in the city. Inside, the apartment is cozy, comfortable, and the bed made it very easy to get a good night's rest. The host was very easy to reach, made getting settled in a breeze, and ensured that there were a few food items in the fridge, including fresh eggs from the yard hens. I'd happily stay here again!

    Brittany2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay, just one night but it was perfect for us. Hosts were very helpful as we arrived earlier than planned and they were very accommodating. Coffee in the cupboard cream and fresh eggs in the fridge, that was a very nice touch. The stay was lovely.

On a ridge in downtown Bellingham. Mix of residential and commercial. Very walkable. Quiet private yard in the midst of the city.
  • Nicole's place is a spacious, cozy, artsy upper level of a duplex. It was conveniently located downtown and Nicole was an awesome and helpful host.

  • Great location, and a very comfortable space. Would stay again.

    Jake2018-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in a great location with access to everywhere. I especially enjoyed that the location is basically in the downtown, but tucked away so that it feels nicely secluded.

    Matt2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole's place is super! It's exceptionally spic and span. The king sized bed was amazingly comfortable. The walkability factor is important to me and scores high! It's nice to find a place with ample parking also. And the the artwork... so fun :).

    Michelle2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • I could not recommend Nicole and her lovely, lovely home enough. The photographs do not come close to doing this homey, comfortable, and wonderfully unique abode justice. The living spaces were beyond comfortable, impeccably tidy, and a fantastic place to be. The location could not be beat, either. It is just a few minutes off the freeway, a block or two from downtown, and a short drive along the waterfront from Fairhaven. If you are considering staying here at all, do yourself a favor and snap this place up while you can.

    Max2015-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • If being within a stone's throw of Bellingham's amazing food co-op, breweries, the farmers' market, and the other amenities of downtown is your thing, then this place is for you. I highly recommend Nicole's home for anyone looking for a place to stay in Bellingham. The residence itself is super comfortable and very clean, and the sunset view from the back deck is the cherry on top. Nicole was very helpful in terms of getting us set up with the info we needed before we arrived. The walkability of the home kept us out and about most of the time, but she has a nice collection of DVDs and games if you want to stay in, along with a full kitchen and overall pleasant space to hang out. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it without hesitation!

    Jason2015-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for walking around downtown, close to highway for exploring further afield. Lots of space - bedroom, bathroom, living room, office, kitchen. Super cozy, awesome decor. Were here with two-year-old, was perfect. FYI for little kids: balcony not safe, bamboo 'railing' not attached at bottom. That's ok, parents enjoyed grownups-only time on balcony in gorgeous evening sunset. We'll be back!

    Teagirl2014-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole was an extremely gracious host who responded quickly and was more than happy to answer any questions that I had. The place is adorable and very unique, it felt perfectly Bellingham! We were right downtown but far enough away that it wasn't noisy so it's a perfect place.

Western Washington University 10mins away, Whatcom Community College 7.5 mins away. All of the above is relative to time and traffic. Bus is on James St around the corner. Train is on the south side of where we are - 10 minute drive. Ferry is also near the train station. Airport is about 10minutes away . Many guests use Uber or local taxis.

  • Very comfortable place, easy to find, close to airport, very convenient for us to leave our car and come back in a week. Highly recommend to future travelers.

  • Loved the place! The food and coffee was a welcome site after a very long drive. Overall the place was very comfortable, like a little home away from home.

  • Tall Cedars is so much more than the photos, My 16 year son and I live in downtown Seattle and this was like a cottage retreat(front door and backdoor). The 2 acres of land has random art pieces around the property and garden. My son was ecstatic, she stocked us with food/snacks And good coffee(even vit.C). Deborah was truly 5 star, she over accommodated us, even brought kindling & logs for the fireplace. Remembered everything including a lamp at night. I slept so well, its was so dark and quiet that I didn't have to wear my sleep. The bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately my son was practicing some dance moves in the bathroom and stepped backwards into the wall and knocked a hole in the wall, she could have hired someone that would have broke our budget but replied, "its ok, I can fix it myself. In the words of my 16 year old son, "she is like the really cool yoga grandma" Yes she is!!!

  • We absolutely loved staying here. There is a separate entry to the apartment and it is very private. The room was warm, clean and cozy. Deborah had the fridge stocked with some lovely breakfast items and there were lots of fresh clean towels in the bathroom. We will definitely stay here again if we're ever back in the area.

  • I missed my flight and did not get to stay here. But I can say that Deborah was incredibly flexible and accommodating. She had so much set up for me, I'm sad I didn't get to stay here. She also kept excellent communication. Mahalo nui loa

  • Deborah was very welcoming and wanted to make sure that we had what we need and where comfortable. Honestly it was the most well stocked, private and roomy place I have stayed in yet. The surroundings are peaceful and serene especially being so close to town. I highly recommend this host and location!

Otherwise most guests report a quiet neighborhood. MY DEAR GUESTS: BELLINGHAM CITY COUNCIL IS POISED TO RESTRICT VACATION RENTALS IN MARCH 2018. This rental and most others may not be available in the very near future. Unfortunately my lovely guests are being cast as unwelcome intruders in the neighborhood. Please contact the Planning Dept and tell them why you use vacation rentals.
The neighborhood, called Lettered Streets, is 1-1.5 miles from Bellingham’s downtown and waterfront. Restaurants, breweries, shops, grocery stores, stage theaters and parks are within walking distance. A classic corner convenience store is a few blocks away.
  • Caroline's place was so wonderful - very walkable, clean, with lots of little "extras" like tea and breakfast cookies available for us. We were so impressed with the time and detail Caroline clearly puts into her Airbnb, and we would absolutely stay again!

  • Central, charming, clean, and family-friendly. We couldn't have asked for more!

  • Caroline was an amazing host. We never saw her, but she was very quick to respond if we needed anything. Her place was comfortable and charming. All in all, we had an amazing time.

    Amber2016-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline's apartment was a great place to stay for a quick weekend away--clean, cozy, and a short walk from downtown.

  • This is a wonderful one bedroom apartment in a restored Victorian home. We stayed three nights, bed was very comfortable, amenities were above and beyond what was expected, and everything was so clean. The apartment is located in a quiet part of town, Caroline was responsive to all emails, check-in was easy. We will definitely use this Airbnb again.

  • This apartment is in a great location and is not only equipped with everything you'd want in an airbnb stay but is also very cozy and inviting. In addition, Caroline was easy to get in touch with and set us up for an easy check in and check out. I highly recommend this apartment!

Sunny, cozy studio "Chalet" located in a beautiful garden space. Swim in the pool in the summer, hot tub in the winter. Fresh eggs from our chickens provided. 12 minutes from downtown, 6 minutes from the airport.
Come and relax in our sunny studio surrounded by an organic fruit and vegetable garden on our acre in semi-rural Bellingham. There is 1 Queen sized bed, a pull out love seat sized bed, a shower, washer/dryer, full kitchen and living room. Children are welcome. We have a playground and zip line in our yard to use as well. Help yourself to eggs from our chickens, fresh herbs and our garden bounty. We are 6 minutes from Bellingham International Airport, 10 minutes from downtown Bellingham and Western Washington University, ½ mile from the bus line and ½ mile from the Nooksack River levee trail. We're also about an hour and a half from the Mt.Baker ski area. Our neighborhood is friendly and quiet. At night you’ll hear owls and frogs, during the days in the summer you can swim in our pool. We have 15 chickens, a box turtle, 2 bunnies and 2 children.
Our neighborhood is full of very warm and friendly people. It is quiet and pretty.
  • Our time at the Chalet was completely wonderful! The space it self is clean, well-appointed, and spacious. Very comfortable bed & a great kitchen (including fresh eggs and vegetables from the garden outside). The surroundings are gorgeous -- this is a great place to relax, or to serve as a home base for exploring the Bellingham area. Tami was very communicative and flexible. I can't recommend the Chalet highly enough!

    Andrew2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place to stay! We were looking at just one night in the Bellingham area on a short trip riding some of the local mountain bike trails. There were several listings nearer trail heads but we were sold by the charm of the chalet in the photos, and the description and comments mentioning garden produce, the hot tub and pool. The latter was out of action for this stay, but Tami did warn us of this before confirming our booking. Being a fairly small city, the Chalet, set in a rural area, was still only a short ten-minute drive to down-town, and a further five minutes to Galbraith trails. When we checked in mid-afternoon we found, as others have noted, six fresh eggs and a bowl of garden-grown berries waiting in the fridge, and a hand-written welcome note. We also found plenty of leaflets on the local and surrounding areas, some board games, a small TV, DVD player, and a few movies so there is some entertainment if you found yourselves inside for the night. The rest of the day was spent out riding and getting food in the city. so we didn't return until late. After a comfortable night's sleep (with AC as it had been a scorcher) we cooked up a six-egg scramble in the morning, with some fresh-picked kale and peas from the garden, using the excellently equipped kitchen. We were up and heading out for more riding before 8am, but did get a chance to catch the cheery and friendly Tami briefly before she left for a run. I would recommend the Chalet in a heartbeat for anybody with their own vehicle and looking for a quaint place to stay, offering more than just a bed for the night. I'm certain we will stay again on future trips south of the border.

    Dominic2015-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Chalet was a perfectly lovely place to stay. We were washed out of a backpacking trip, and were lucky enough to stumble into this little spot of heaven. The hot tub was deeply appreciated, the laundry was a life saver, and the otherwise perfection of this place was a cherry on top. Love the gardens! Tami was wonderfully responsive - and we were quite last minute, so that was really great - and the place is clean, tidy, absolutely as pictured, and just perfect. I only wish we had another night to spend! There is plenty to explore right in Bellingham, and I could easily spend a couple days right here in this back yard.

    Nora2016-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute place. Enjoyed the hot tub, garden and fresh eggs. Wish we had more time to enjoy the pool but we were to busy exploring the area. Nice stay. Thank you.

    Julia2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my time at The Chalet. Everything was clean, functional and comfortable. The hot tub, pool, chickens and absolutely magical garden really make this a special place.

    Megan2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Chalet was cozy and clean, and check in was super easy. We had a quick stay this time but would have loved to linger to enjoy the hot tub and fresh eggs.

    Stephanie2018-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to relax and get away from it all then this is the place for you. Quiet and secluded with a garden full of fruit and flowers. We even saw a humming bird drinking nectar. Shame we were too busy sightseeing to try the pool or hot tub but such is life. Cannot recommend this place too highly.

    Alan2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay at the Chalet. It was just as described. It was roomy, comfortable, well- equipped and quiet. Tami and Frank were friendly and welcoming. We loved waking up to the sounds of birds and frogs. The yard and garden are lovely. Although the Chalet might be considered "out in the country," it is still conveniently close to downtown Bellingham. We would definitely stay here again.

  • This place is everything in the description and more! It is an amazing spacious two level guest house with a view that words cannot describe. Located on a secluded dirt road over looking the water and mountain range, I couldn’t have asked for more! (Make sure you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle). The hosts were extremely friendly and even gave us a list of the places to eat on the island. I wish we could have stayed here forever!

  • Our stay in Olga was fantastic. We had a wonderful time whale watching and hiking. The house was excellent, the view, the fire and the bbq were great elements to make us feel comfortable. Our hosts recommended us an excellent trial that we hiked in the afternoon. The ocean was sparkling silver and the views from the Turtleback peaks were spectacular.

OK we live in paradise. Why not stop by for a visit? We’re located on Guemes Island an 8-minute county ferry ride from Anacortes, Washington. Meaning you can avoid the long car line-up and reservations for the state ferryboats and also the big expense. Our house was custom built for us with 6 rooms open floor plan (no walls and doors, it's open). Anderson’s store for food is 1 mile south, county park is 400’ for tennis, baseball and soccer plus kids playground the second county park is 1 mile north for waterfront crabbing and cookouts and an occasional food truck. Hiking Guemes mountain is a great hike to see all of the San Juan Islands and Cascade Mountains. Here’s some other salesish stuff I cut and pasted from other folks ads in the area that sounds fancy, plus I bet you can’t guess the parts we edited… Located across the water from Anacortes, Washignton on Guemes Island we are a 5-10 minute bike ride to beaches, county parks, hiking trails, 2 island stores and waterfront pinicing and grilling. Our island we think is ideal for all visitors. It's an easy 2 minute drive from the county ferry landing to our home. Our home includes living/dining area, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower, 1 upstairs bedroom with queen bed (2 people), loft, office with a full sized murphy bed (2 people) and living room. 2 bikes, books and games are also available for guests use. Our home is located on a 2.5 private wooded acreage tucked into the giant fir and cedar trees. Watch boats pass by the south end as you munch on double cheeseburgers and drink beer at Anderson’s Store. Head down to the north beach for a walk and cooking out at the county park. Go to the park 1/4 mile away for tennis and the playground. Our home is situated among firs and cedars in a quiet and tucked away location from the wind. Generally 2- 5 bar cell coverage in the house. Internet WiFi is available at the home. So in general come stay at our place, kick back and enjoy the life in the San Juan’s, plus don’t expect too much except a very relaxing vacation.
Our home is located on a 2.5 private wooded acreage tucked into the giant fir and cedar trees. Located on rural Guemes Island, about 300 full-time residents. We're an 8-minute ferry ride over to Anacortes, Washington for restaurants, farmer's market and "in town" stuff if you want. Watch boats pass by the south end as you munch on double cheeseburgers and drink beer at Anderson’s Store. Head down to the north beach for a walk and cooking out at the county park. Go to the schoolhouse park 1/4 mile away for tennis and the playground.
  • Guemes Island is beautiful and Wendy's place is fantastic! Lovely house set in amongst trees, still gets lots of natural light and sitting by the fireplace reading was very relaxing. You've got everything you need at your fingers, and just a five minute ride on the ferry back to Anacortes for groceries. Super walks around the island and in a great location for day trips up north towards Edison and the national parks.

    Nicholas2013-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was wonderful!! What a great house and location. It was peaceful, but the modern house contrasting with the rural countryside kept it feeling very dynamic. Can't wait to stay again!

    Alexander2013-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at the house for a long valentine's day weekend. House is beautifuly constructed and thought through. Considering it's just two and a half hours from Seattle and how quiet it is, it's a real gem for people who are looking for secluded getaway. Island has great cycling loop (~11 miles), good running and trail running routes. Had a great time! Thanks Wendy!

    Petr2013-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Such a magical experience! The home was everything they described and more, coming and going to the island is about as beautiful an experience as any. Thank you Wendy!

    Kate2015-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • This house is SO beautiful. Wendy was very helpful. The island is quiet and serene. If you're looking for a nice place to unwind- this is it!

    The2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a hoot! It was a lot of fun being in an environment built by clearly creative people. They have a dry, subtle sense of humor: everything in the house has a label on it with instructions, and the house book was not only useful, it was fun to read: don't cut your fingers off with an axes. If the dishwasher floods (because you did something - I don't remember what - wrong), "chill." But my favorite was the balcony off the upstairs bedroom area. We are warned not to let the balcony door lock or we will be stranded outside, high above the ground. Heaven help you if you didn't happen to be dresse (Website hidden by Airbnb) I loved all the art, and the very personal dishware. I loved the building. I just really loved this place.

    Theresa2016-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect weekend escape from Seattle. The home was very clean and comfortable and thoughtfully stocked with all the bedding, linens, and kitchen items that you could need. Our only issue was not bringing enough food before we reached the island, because I had wrongly assumed that the general store would have a bit more to offer. We made do just fine, though! We brought our two greyhounds with us and enjoyed lazing about this quaint island and reading books by the fire. Our favorite part was hiking up Guemes Mountain. We do recommend that you arrive early for the local ferry. We ended up having to wait 90 minutes mid-afternoon Friday to get on the island. Getting back was a breeze, however.

    Patricia2013-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience on Guemes Island was superb. It started with prompt and helpful communication from our hosts, including a guide to the house that directed our packing. And then we got there. Wow! It was like living in a treehouse -- albeit a treehouse with all the amenities. The "neighbors" are mature fir and cedar trees, and every view out of the house was of green forest and (fortunately) blue sky. The house itself is like a ship -- everything is minimalist and well-organized. We loved it, and although our original plans were to use it as a base for travel in the area, we ended up staying there nearly every day, enjoying the beautiful, restful, unplugged life.

  • Rakefet was a wonderful and gracious host. She made us feel totally at home. The apartment and yard are really beautiful, like a little oasis of greenery. We ate outside in the morning and were treated to fresh blueberries and plums from Rakefet's garden, as well as greetings from little Duke the friendly sausage dog. Communication was very good, check in/out was simple. We'd stay again!

    Audrey2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived late and had to leave early, but the setup for the Garden Studio was very user-friendly, and we were able to get in and out efficiently! The studio was well-appointed, and I even appreciated the little drawer of essential toiletries that was included in the bathroom. I took away some design ideas as well from the kitchen - very cute! We didn't get to meet Rakefet (due to the hours of our stay) but the communication was great, Rakefet was very responsive. We will absolutely contact Rakefet again when we come back to Bellingham (it was a super location near the airport, too!)

    Gillian2014-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful place and time at Rakefet, and she was a great host. The place looks exactly like the picture shows, but even more beautiful in person. The place was immaculately clean and warm when we arrived. I would highly recommend the suite.

    Michelle2015-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • After a long hike, my husband and I arrived to the garden studio around 6 pm and were so pleasantly surprised to find a little paradise tucked away in a garden setting. If you are obsessed with cleanliness (like I am) this place is absolutely spotless! Water pressure is excellent, everything worked perfectly, and nothing is lacking in the way of amenities. The garden is so peaceful and you can wander around the yard or sit on the back patio admiring the view. Rakefet came out to greet us and we had a lovely time chatting about the area and her passion for the place. She recommended some great breakfast spots. the house is within walking distance to a grocery store, and it's on a quiet street in a safe area. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.

    marlise2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • this place is easy to find, instructions given by Rakefet was clear. We didn't need to coordinate our check in with her, so it took the stress off trying to be there in time. the neighborhood is quiet, and there are many restaurants nearby. The entire place is like a luxury cabin. The smell is refreshingly clean, and that's because Rakefet uses environmentally safe cleaning products. The place is clean, and so is the backyard. Decor of the place gives it a relaxing vacation-y feel. Having a kitchen is there make it really convenient to heat up leftovers. The bed is comfortable and we passed out for a nap shortly after we arrived. A great place to stay at an affordable price. We'll definitely return when we are in the neighborhood.

    Catherine2016-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • We love staying with Rakefet and we try to book this place every time we come to town. It's always super clean, tidy, and quiet. The patio and backyard are awesome for eating meals or just relaxing in the enormous garden. It feels like a special place here. Plus Rakefet is a great host and she has the cutest dog ever.

    Holly2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Rakefet's studio was exactly as described and more, a wonderful space with a large yard featuring an interesting art studio, beautifully lit patio, vegetable garden, and a trellis teeming with grapes. Access was easy and simple, Rakefet was very available while still giving us total privacy. The studio is well-appointed and spotless with plenty of amenities, dishes, and comfortable furniture. The fixtures all appear to be relatively new, water pressure and heat were excellent, and the kitchen area is spacious. We enjoyed our two visits from Duke while outside in the yard, such a sweet dog! We cannot recommend this space enough, it is a terrific place and the yard is so charming we didn't want to leave.

  • This place worked great as a home base during Ski to Sea weekend. A bit of a long walk to downtown, but with the great weather, we walked down twice. The backyard is beautiful. Would definitely stay here again.

Our newly renovated Basement Studio is awesome for anyone that is looking for a clean, modern space close to downtown Bellingham. In the historic Lettered Streets neighborhood, walk to all the great breweries and restaurants. Although this house was built in the late 1800's... the studio is new, bright, and a perfect getaway. It has it all: King Size bed, a gorgeous walk-in shower, and a mud-room to store outdoor bikes, boards, skis, and kayaks. More photos coming soon!
This space has been 100% renovated! Every aspect is new, fresh, and clean. It is the bottom floor of a 3 story home that was built in 1886! The front door opens directly to the driveway, so there is no need to haul your luggage very far. Full kitchen is provided, with a full size stove, sink, and refrigerator. We also provide a Keurig coffee maker. and moderate cooking supplies. We provide simple amenities to make you feel at home, such as a hair dryer, iron, and desk space. We also love to give people a feel for the historic charm of our old Bellingham neighborhood, so we have incorporated historic black and white photos from the Whatcom Museum. We also love the vintage inspired record player to add some ambience to the space and hope guests enjoy a record or two while they are here.
  • Lindsy has a great eye for decor. The place is newly updated with plenty of style. There were a lot of gorgeous plants which was a really nice touch. The cement floors were cold when we were there in Feb, so bring slippers if you don't like cold floors. There was a slight mildew smell which was annoying. The place is spacious, and the bed comfortable. The bathroom is too small for two people to navigate at the same time, but the shower is larger than it looks in the pictures. Pros: great style, gorgeous plants. Cons: mildew smell.

  • Nice place in a good location, walking distance to downtown. Nice, modern decor. And Lindsy provided good tips for local restaurants, bars etc. Definitely can recommend this place.

    Matthias2018-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cutest air bnb I’ve stayed at! The bed was super comfy, the whole apartment was really clean and super comfortable. Lindsey and Eli were super quick to respond. Loved everything about this place.

  • Amazing space and so stylish! Lindsy was so quick to respond. In a perfect location too! Definitely would stay here again.

  • Nice place, close to lots of things, great host.

    Tori2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • The unit was just as described and met our needs nicely. Location was convenient to downtown and there was plenty of space for us. Kitchen was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. Being on the ground floor it does have more of a daylight basement feel as you go back into the unit, but that was as described so not a surprise. Communications with the host were excellent and accessing the unit went smoothly. Overall a good value for a convenient location that was also very quiet during the night, except for the occasional train horns that you hear anywhere in Bellingham. We would certainly consider staying there again if in Bellingham.

    Robert2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cutest bnb, friendly hosts with great recommendations. Accommodating. Within walking distance to local shops, restaurants and breweries. Easy parking. Hoping for another excuse to come back and stay at this studio, we loved it!

Beautiful setting that provides easy access to all that Bellingham has to offer. In the city but feels like the country. Our spacious suite is the perfect getaway for a couple or individual. With a private entrance, the 2nd floor studio and bathroom (on lower level) provide a great place to call home while in Bellingham. The king bed is ultra comfortable and the studio is perfect for those that want more space and amenities than a hotel room or shared house.
Our above garage suite is beautifully decorated with super comfortable king bed and comforter. Large armoire for clothing. High speed internet, microwave/toaster oven, Keurig, french press, small fridge and freezer, iron board, dishes, pots & pans and more. Hot plate available upon request. We only allow up to two people, but if you have an infant, don't hesitate to check with us. Interaction with guests: We are a text message away, anytime for anything! We live in the main house, but value your privacy. Our Clean Unit Guarantee - We want our guests to know that we provide clean bed sheets, pillow cases, duvet cover, mattress pad and bathroom towels/cloths for every visitor. We personally clean all surfaces upstairs and in the bathroom prior to every guest and do not use a cleaning company. This is how we like places when we visit, so we feel our guests deserve the same treatment! The neighborhood: Centrally located to EVERYTHING...Right on the trail system that runs throughout Bellingham. Near St. Joseph's Hospital, Barkley Village, downtown Bellingham, WWU and easy access to the freeway north and south. You can be on the road (State Rte. 542) to Mt. Baker in about 2 minutes from our house. Check out the notebook in the suite for information about our area, local trails and great places to eat, drink and hang out. Our location is central whether driving, riding or walking. We are right on the interurban trail that takes you all over Bellingham. We are also only a few minutes from downtown and the I5 Freeway. We are local and know Bellingham very well! If you have questions don't hesitate to ask.
Our home is walking distance to Barkley Village, Whatcom Falls Park, Lake Whatcom and provides easy access to just about all of Bellingham. Though you drive up through a typical neighborhood, our area has a limited number of houses on large lots. Almost all the homes on our private driveway have at least 3/4 of an acre, so there is no one super close.
  • Our stay at Matt and Laura's was great! The location was quiet but close to everything. Their thoughtful touches made us feel cozy and welcome. Highly recommended!

    Alicia2018-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic suite with all the necessities in a quit neighborhood. Free parking, but it's also within walking distance to Barkley Village and walking trails if you enjoy going for walks. The hosts provided excellent and timely information and were very friendly. I can highly recommend this suite and will look forward to staying here the next time I'm in Bellingham.

    Lisa2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • I haven't stayed in many Airbnbs but I think Matt goes above and beyond to respond to all requests. He and his family give you all the privacy you desire but if you want a face to face he's very friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend as a home base in Bham

    Debbie2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Matt and Laura are great hosts! The apartment was cute, clean and comfy. It was well appointed with everything we needed for the weekend. They even had a bottle of wine waiting for us upon arrival! Their home is centrally located and close to everything! I highly recommend their home if you are looking to stay in Bellingham (Website hidden by Airbnb)

  • A clean, comfortable, and quiet studio in a great location. We really enjoyed staying here and would do so again. We enjoyed walking to Whatcom Falls and seeing deer almost every day. It was a great value and I don't think you could beat this place anywhere in town.

    Jayna2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice updated space in a very quiet location. Just be aware the bathroom is located on a lower level from the rest of the unit but it is not shared and nicely renovated. All and all we would recommend staying here.

    Sandra2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • It's a very comfortable and spotless space, with all of the amenities you'd want for staying multiple days. I really appreciated the private access and quiet location. Matt is really accommodating and an overall great host.

  • Very cute house in a nice, quiet neighborhood close to everything Bellingham has to offer. It's just a short drive to Fairhaven, downtown Bellingham and Lake Padden. It's also a short walk to the Interurban Trail which is excellent for walking, running and biking. The house was cozy, comfortable, nicely decorated and has great amenities. The owners were available, friendly and thorough. I'd definitely stay at The Little House in Fairhaven again.

  • Barry & Crina are great hosts, the Little House is spotlessly clean with a fantastic private patio. We enjoyed every minute of our stay,

    Peter2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Barry and Crina were very welcoming and even had the place ready early. We really enjoyed our stay. It was a quick "stay-cation" for my husband and I and our friends and their location was perfect. The place was cozy and comfortable and had everything that we needed. I am sure if we would have had a longer stay that we could have easily had some great conversation with Barry and Crina, they made us feel right at home when we met them when we first arrived at the house!

    Sharis2015-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Barry and Crina's place is very welcoming. A cozy fire in the living room and coffee with fresh cream (in fridge) ready to go for the next morning. The house was easy to find, in a quiet neighborhood and not especially dark. Barry made a point to hi during our stay and I cannot repeat often enough how comfortable it has been.

    Viola2015-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our friends from Sweden had nothing but good things to say about their 3-night stay in the "Little House" in Fairhaven, e.g. they enjoyed sitting on the patio, the fully functional kitchen, and comfortable beds. They also appreciated Barry's helpfulness. It was a great first time airbnb experience.

    Lisbeth2015-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Barry and Crina's place was truly cozy! Stylish decor, warm, comfortable, clean, well-appointed, and close to great trails! Barry and Crina were communicative and they provided great suggestions for local activities. Great experience!

  • I loved getting to stay at your little house! This was my second stay here, and it feels like a home away from home. You both are so welcoming and I appreciate how cozy and easy you make it to stay at your house! I feel safe too, which is so important to me as I travel alone quite often for work. It's comforting to stay with a nice family like yours, thank you so much!

    Carina2016-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Your house was a perfect little haven for the week. It is very cleverly laid out & cozy, as well as functional. And I couldn't have asked for nicer hosts!

We are in an area that is so beautiful and private along the north side of Chuckanut Mountain. The amount of hiking is unlimited whether it be along the southside of the mountain famous for its shoreline or the woods and trails. A just built studio with privacy all around it. The studio is just 320 sq. feet but looks much bigger because of the wrap around concrete patio and covered parking area.
The minute you pull in you feel the privacy with your own covered parking space and semi covered patio with the sliding glass door opening up to a beautiful mountain hillside view. This is a brand new building which we just completed.
The territorial view and hiking, water sports and mountain sports are abundant here as well as walks along the water in Fairhaven & Bellingham. There are also unique shops and art studios to visit before deciding which pub or restaurant to experience.
  • A perfect get-away! It was peaceful and serene to the point of fairy-tale. It was cozy and the perfect hideaway in the Bellingham hills. It was the perfect size for one or two travelers looking to enjoy a scenic nook and eat out in the city. We absolutely LOVED it. Anita was an easy, quiet, and kind host.

    Mara2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Goldfinch Studio surpasses all photographs and descriptions, and Anita is wonderfully thoughtful, generous, and responsive host. The decor is upbeat, and every surface is spotless. We discovered that Anita even supplied coffee, tea, fresh fruit, spring water, and trail mix packets. The kitchen supplies and appliances were well beyond what we expected. This little house has superior construction and a lovely, peaceful, hilly setting just a few minutes from Bellingham. We look forward to coming back for another visit!

  • This suite is immaculate and private. It is perfect for a couple getaway. Furniture and bed are very comfortable. This was our second time here and we hope to be back again!

    Judi2018-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful experience. The space is unbelievable. Warm and luxurious and quiet. Every single detail well considered and thoughtful. Anita was so welcoming and also gave me absolute privacy. Also, she was really helpful with directions and the property is out of this world gorgeous. Such a wonderful place to stay.

  • We loved our stay in Anita's studio! We came up to Bellingham for a wedding and stayed an extra day so we could do the Oyster Dome hike on Chukanut. It's a great location on a big, quiet property - very peaceful. It only took us 15 minutes to drive to Fairhaven and about 20 minutes to get to Bellingham (on side streets). The inside is nicely decorated and comfortable! The king bed is great too! Anita made it easy to check in and out and was available if we needed anything. I would recommend staying here!

    Laurie2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet is the name of the game here. This stand-alone building overlooking a pond is absolutely perfect for some mindful time and beautiful scenery.

  • The Goldfinch Studio is so beautiful! It's a perfect getaway whether you are from the area or just there for vacation! Anita is a wonderful host who is so easy to get a hold of! Would highly recommend this place. So glad we stayed here.

    Tyler2017-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very clean, cute, and quiet. There was a great view of a little lake out the window and the bed was HUGE and very comfortable. The house is very close to Fairhaven and Chuckanut. The bathroom door slides closed and is super cute, but if you aren't super comfortable with your apartment mate you will definitely get that way by the end of your trip!

Wendy and Eric are great hosts - they replied promptly and provided all the information we needed to have a great vacation and access their home. Their home was such a cool and relaxing location to spend a weekend in the San Juan area. We walked around the area with our dog and did some beach walking. Very low key time, and very much enjoyed the house. My personal favorite was the fire place, very cozy to just sit in front of the fire.
