Beautiful, inspiring and peaceful.
A peaceful retreat awaits you in the trees just outside of West Asheville's "locals" downtown! Walkable to Haywood Rd and all our excellent neighborhood restaurants, art and yoga studios, farmers market and pubs. Or you can borrow a bike from us and zip into town. Note: Our house is in a dense suburban residential neighborhood and not outside of town. We have neighbors on all sides but we are lucky that our house is in an urban forest that affords privacy. This is a quiet place to write and rest or just commune with the big oaks around your private deck. The studio apartment is below the main house which has its own entrance and outdoor space. Our family lives above and we are very respectful of your privacy. The studio is SMALL one room space (12x15) but well equipped with a hot plate, under counter fridge, small table and 2 chairs and a queen size bed. You have your own small bathroom with 3x3 shower and toilet. Bathroom sink is in kitchenette. A laundry room is right next door and is also available. If you are looking for an unique space that is peaceful and quiet but part of a vibrant creative community you will enjoy staying with us and we will enjoy hosting you!
West Asheville is the best! Quiet and neighborly, it's not like downtown Asheville with hotels and so many tourists but you can get there or the parkway or the Biltmore very quickly by car. Downtown, five minutes, everywhere else, ten minutes. We have our own downtown in West Asheville and there's many excellent restaurants and music venues within walking or biking distance.
  • We had a lovely stay. While we did not meet Jakub an Maria, Michele did a nice job showing us around and gave us some great suggestions. The "kitchen" included a hot plate, mini fridge, one sink amongst other dishes. It worked out fine for us to prepare a light meal. It's just a short drive to downtown, the arts district and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Highly recommend for those looking for a quiet getaway.

  • This is a fantastic place to stay. Jakub and Maria are warm and courteous. It really feels like home. The wood lined setting is perfect for a stay in Asheville. The house is close enough to downtown that it is easy to get there, but far enough away to feel secluded. We would absolutely stay here again.

  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience. The treehouse was tidy, quaint, and exactly what we were hoping for. Quick 10 min uber ride to downtown. Would definitely recommend!

    Madison2015-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Had a really pleasant stay. It was clean and lots of helpful literature available. Would totally recommend this place!

    Alice2016-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was amazing! The apartment looks over a beautiful natural tree filled forest. The feeling of the apartment is rustic, yet refined. Smart, yet earthy. The neighborhood is hilly and cozy. You are close to a few great restaurants too. I kept saying to myself, "This is all you really need." The communication was thorough and efficient. We loved our stay. We just wish we could have also moved in ;)

    Kendall2016-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Such a sweet spot! We slept well in this little nook, a gorgeous window on Asheville. Our hosts were generous and communicative. And come on, there's a backyard zipline!

    Addie2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time in Asheville and the room was perfect for us. It accommodated all of our needs. We took advantage of the 10 minute walk to West Asheville quite often where there are plenty of great dining options. The property is beautiful and peaceful to relax in. The room was very clean when we arrived. My favorite part is the big glass window looking into the woods and, of course, the zip line in the back yard!

    Dominic2015-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • I would definitely recommend this room for the summer time. Jakub was showing us our room, he was really friendly. It's separate from the house, with an on entree. Really nice area and a lot things to do in Asheville! Close to the interstate, but you can't hear it. Nice place to stay! We only had a problem with the heating. It doesn't work in the night, so we woke up twice an we had 40F in our room! IT WAS SO COLD, similar to the outside temperature! So you should go in the summer time....

Located along the Swannonoa River only 12 minutes from downtown Asheville, this quaint space is a perfect getaway for a romantic weekend or a personal retreat. Jacuzzi tub for two, private wooded porches w/hammock, and swing make this a sweet mountain getaway.
Relax on the hammock and enjoy the sounds of the river on the porch swing. The comfortable, private porch is the perfect place for reading, relaxing, and enjoying an afternoon beverage. Enjoy a Jacuzzi tub for two and wind down. The studio is accessed through a private entrance with private parking and features a queen size bed and a queen size sleeper sofa, flat screen tv with Netflix and Hulu streaming services, DVD player, fridge, coffee maker, tea kettle, and microwave. Coffee, tea, and chilled water are provided. Studio is stocked with care. Books, games, and art supplies for a creative and relaxing vacation. The property is located in a house perched in the trees--ideal bird watching and spotting wild turkeys, river otters, blue herons, beavers, ducks, and the occasional black bear. The river is only accessible via a short walk across the street and down the riverbank. Please note that while actual treehouses are amazing, this is a "treehouse," meaning a studio within a house in the trees! We just want to be clear.
This east Asheville neighborhood is a gorgeously wooded, private refuge with easy access to Asheville's best spots. 12 minutes to Downtown Asheville 3 minutes to Blue Ridge Parkway 5 minutes to Warren Wilson College 15 minutes to Bilmore Estate Creekside Tavern, Filo Bakery, MoJo Coffee Truck, Pomodoro's, and the world's best taco truck are only minutes away on Asheville's eastside. Our neighborhood is a quiet, residential locale. Our priority is to respect our neighbors. You'll often find kids and pups navigating our winding neighborhood roads. It is essential that all guests drive slowly and carefully!
  • The Treehouse Studio is very nice! Super clean and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable. There is plenty of space inside the studio and the outdoor living space was very pleasant. Heather even left us some complimentary spice mixes of hers to sample :) Not too far from downtown in a safe neighborhood. Would love to stay again!

    Damani2016-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay. The bed was so comfortable! Check in and out was so easy. We didn't even have to do any face to face communication (we are shy people). There's so many extra things in the room for you to use like games, coloring things, movies, coffee, and books!

    April2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect! My husband and I wanted to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary and this couldn’t have been a better pick. Heather was super thoughtful, quick with responses and her place was awesome. Definitely would come back again! Highly recommend.

    Courtney2018-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • The location was great. Heather's place was very clean and welcoming. The bed wasn't so comfortable, but the jacuzzi tub was awesome.

    Paula2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Heather has the cutest place and is full of great details! We loved the jacuzzi tub and art in the Treehouse, as well as the proximity to the creek and porch swing out front. We appreciated the coffee, tea, and snacks that she included, as well as TV & Netflix connection. I was very impressed by her thorough directions and many recommendations for local places in Asheville. We highly recommend this place!

    Kimber2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Heather's studio is great! We loved the river view from the porch swing, relaxing jacuzzi tub, great decor, and TV equipped with Netflix. Heather was sweet and gave us lots of information about the Asheville area and even a little vanilla-flavored salt.

    Ben2015-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Heather was very welcoming and reached out to us multiple times to make sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed. She provided us with snacks on arrival as well as a guidebook with their list of favorite places to see and do Asheville. The house is located in a scenic neighborhood with flowing water and rolling hills. We would stay here again next time we are in town.

    Erik & Crystal2016-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place was truly an oasis of tranquility! It's sweetly decorated, completely clean and is surrounded by beautiful trees and nature. We sat out on the porch in the swing each evening; such a nice way to end a busy day of hiking, rock climbing or shopping! It's about 15 minutes from the heart of downtown Asheville, but even closer to many amazing hiking areas such as the Blue Ridge Parkway. The driveway is a TAD tricky as it's very steep and narrow, but it's paved and any car should have no problem getting up it. The hot tub is to die for, it's SO wonderful!! Heather and Lee were great hosts, always available via text, welcoming with interesting conversation upon our arrival but completely respectful of our privacy. It was a perfect and tranquil experience staying here!

The best of both worlds! Quiet, secluded country cottage only six minutes from downtown Asheville. Sip your morning coffee on a private brick patio surrounded by large trees and singing birds. Enjoy easy access to West Asheville's restaurant scene. If you'd rather have your own private porch and deck with great views of the surrounding trees, check out our upstairs unit. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1950593 Please read the HOUSE RULES before booking. Most importantly, we only have parking for ONE CAR per unit, and only allow two people maximum per unit, no exceptions! (If you have an extra car you'll have to leave it in a parking garage downtown.) This private apartment is the ground floor of our our cozy gated home at the end of one lane gravel road. We live in the little house in the backyard. In front of our house is the Crown Plaza golf course and mountain bike trail. The apartment is fully furnished, including a fully equipped kitchen with a full fridge, microwave, four-burner stove & oven, a coffee maker, a toaster and a blender (perfect for breakfast smoothies!) It includes Wireless Internet, off street parking for one car, complimentary coffee and tea. All linens and towels provided. We also provide shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner so you don't have to pack these bulky items! Electric heating with two separate thermostats keeps the apartment at an optimum comfortable temperature. A window air conditioner unit is provided in the summer months. The bathroom has a custom-tiled double shower with glass doors, underfloor heating (great for keeping your toes warm!) and plenty of storage for your toiletries. The apartment is not suitable for children as it is not childproofed. The bed is a queen size. We are surrounded by trees and wild spaces, which makes it perfect for the wildlife that live here. We have raccoons, opossums, red foxes, woodchucks, chipmunks, squirrels and the occasional coyote. Our bird-friendly yard is home to over 20 different species of birds including a resident pair of red-shouldered hawks and a screech owl family. Our house is only 45 minutes away from the Cataloochee valley in the Smoky Mountains National Park. The valley is known for its elk and black bear population. The east side of the Smokies is great as it is less touristy than further west. It is a great place for a day trip! Enjoy the benefits of living close to Downtown and recharge your batteries in our tranquil home.
  • Great people to work with! Cristina and Hal had extremely fast and helpful communication with us throughout our experience there and before arriving. Super cozy house and atmosphere surrounding it. It was very clean and comfortable. Very private and quiet. Just a few minutes to drive from downtown Asheville.

  • One never knows whether the lived experience will match the anticipated looked-forward to experience until that experience becomes a reality. I am happy to say that my time at the Nature Lover's Retreat and with Hal and Cristina was delightful. The peaceful secluded environment was exactly what I needed for my spiritual retreat time in Asheville. The comfort of the space made it very easy to relax and let go of the busyness of my life. Hal and Cristina's attention to detail demonstrated their desire to make their guests feel at home. All the way from the heated bathroom floor to the Tazo tea neatly arranged in a little wooden box on the kitchen counter. Their obvious desire to be available if needed, made them very approachable without hesitation. Their love of nature and care for our planet is very contagious. I found myself being much more aware of my surroundings and of my desire to be more attentive to my relationship with nature and my world. Needless to say, without hesitation, I have and I will recommend Hal and Cristina's Nature Lover's Retreat to family and friends. I look forward to having a reason to return to Asheville so that I might stay there again. Thank you, Hal and Cristina. You are doing it right!

    Donald2015-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Cristina and Hal's place was very nice. They were very accommodating hosts. The apartment is very cozy and clean. It is very close to everywhere you'd want to be in Asheville, minutes from both downtown and west Asheville.

Come escape to our tiny modern off grid cabin situated in the middle of our private 125 acre gated mountain top property backing up to Pisgah National Forest. Enjoy soaring views, proximity to hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and sleep in a comfy bed...just 25 minutes to downtown Asheville! All dogs are welcome!
Wake up to a breath taking mountain view amidst the trees! Hike our nearby trail along the creek or drive 4 miles to the top of mount pisgah and hike along the blue ridge parkway! You can be in downtown Asheville in 25 minutes to enjoy all the amazing food, breweries, and art galleries. The cabin has a comfortable queen size bed, a propane 2 burner cook stove, solar generator to plug in cell phones and lap top (if there is sun!), Verizon cell phone service available, a water cooler for drinking and washing, propane heater if its cold, and a very clean outhouse. There is an outdoor shower fed by our rainwater collection system that is open seasonally April-October. As a back up shower, we have a solar shower (5 gallon shower bag) you can use year around as needed. Attached to the cabin is a very clean porta potty with mountain views that is emptied weekly. We have an outdoor fire pit for making s'mores and cooking- bring your own firewood or buy some from my neighbor. The glass garage door on the front of the cabin opens to beautiful mountain views (it has a roll down bug screen). The cabin is heated by a propane heater during the winter. You will need to bring your own cooler with ice in it (there is no fridge) and your own towels for bathing. Linens will be provided. Basic cook ware, tea pot and coffee press are provided. We leave a couple 5 gallon jugs of water for you to drink and wash dishes in. There are 2 chairs and a fold out table. We provide some board games and books. We love dogs and know how hard it is to find a place that allows them to come on vacation with you! Potty trained, well behaved dogs of any size are welcome! Bring their crates and beds. They will need to be left in a crate if left indoors without you there. Can't find the dates you want? We just finished a new cabin! Click here to see our other off grid property. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/21102715?s=51
The proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and all the hiking trails nearby make this neighborhood special!
  • Loved our stay here! Perfect retreat to unwind and get away. Haley was super responsive and helpful!

    Courtney2017-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • I'd been looking forward to this stay for a while and Haleys cabin did not disappoint. It is absolutely amazing. Perfect for a quiet weekend or as a base for exploring pisgah national forest or Asheville. It was tidy, charming, comfortable and boasted amazing views! I could've stayed forever. Thanks Haley for providing such a fun and unique experience!! Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

    Paige2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely amazing! The road up is a bit daunting if you're not used to driving in the mountains, but it's also part of the fun! The cabin is very clean, we loved the outdoor shower! The outhouse is also clean and doesn't hold that gross "port o potty" smell. Waking up to the view of Mt Pisgah makes every morning a great morning. This place is about as rural as it gets, it was so peaceful to not be around other people or the busyness of a city. If you are looking for a mountain adventure I definitely recommend this place.

    Dana2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was very nice and close to a lot of things to do. It still felt like you had the whole mountain to yourself! The hosts were very nice and gave great directions to get there.

    Daniel2017-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin had everything we needed! It was cozy and comfortable with a beautiful view.

    Madeline2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great little get away! Nice place to unplug and escape.

    James2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! Drivable distance to ashville, and far in the mountains to feel secluded and private. Stayed right at the top of the mountain and the view was beautiful. A few bugs but it's something to expect, the cabin was well kept and clean. Came durring November so it got cold, but the sun came up and warmed the cabin easily. Also had a gas powered heater that worked very well, and the outdoor shower's hot water heater also worked very well. We can't wait to come back again.

    Dotty2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend staying here! Even though it was a little chilly outside it stayed super warm inside the cabin. In the morning we opened up the garage door and made coffee out on the porch, which was fabulous. Haley also gave us helpful hiking and dinner tips. We will be back (and have been inspired by this great tiny design!).

SparkleBark Farm offers our open air guest cabin to those who want the comfort of a bed while enjoying the same breezes, wild flowers, fireflies, and early morning mist that you'd have while camping. Just a 15 minute drive away from downtown Asheville, NC.
Sparklebark Farm is a small-scale organic farm and homestead. For the past four years Zac and Bea, the owners, have been collaborating with a revolving cast of incredibly talented friends to make this land a model of sustainability, as well as natural and artistic beauty. We grow a ton of vegetables as well as flowers and keep flocks of free range chickens and ducks. Bea is a fine artist who makes beautiful nature-based drawings (check out her (email hidden)), and Zac is a builder and woodworker who has been pouring his heart into beautifying and constructing buildings and infrastructure at Sparklebark. Our vision is to continue to steward and beautify the land through agriculture as well as art, we are so excited to share this little slice of paradise!
Our neighborhood is the nearby mountain range. We live on seven acres of land, and rarely see or hear our neighbors. Sometimes if the wind is blowing the right way, you can hear the laughter of the children who live on the other side of the valley. We enjoy the rural setting but can be at any location in Asheville in under 15 minutes and on the blue ridge parkway or deep in the woods in 20!
  • This place was the best spot for our honeymoon, and all of the recommendations were spot on! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Sparklebark!!!

    Tori2018-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in the cabin at Sparkle Bark. The mountain view from bed was the absolute best.

    Jessica2016-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • I loved everything about Sparkle Bark. From the moment my boyfriend and I arrived it was a wonderful experience - the guest parking space sign was decorated with fairy dust! Bea and Zac welcomed us as we followed the very detailed notes given by Zac in an earlier email. The fire-flies were everywhere making the farm hold true to its name. The cabin was gorgeous with fresh flowers, soft towels, nice sheets, tea and freshly picked peas all ready for us to enjoy. The bathroom was stunning too, with cute little hand painted signs and instructions, and a nice morning view out the window with the sun breaking over the horizon. I would most definitely recommend staying here and hope to be able to again. Clearly a lot of thought and effort went into making this place the magical, relaxing, luxurious yet minimalistic experience that it was.

    Sarah2015-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • All I can saw is WOW! One of the best places I have ever stayed. First, Zac and Bea were absolutely wonderful. Zac greeted us right away and guided us to the cabin. He also emailed me some pretty cool maps for us to explore the blue ridge parkway. The cabin itself was absolutely beautiful. It was super clean and very elegant. Everything we needed was provided. The shower and toilet were really unique and lovely. The outside shower was warm! It was wonderful! We also took a peek into the school bus they have turned into a place a stay and recently available on airbnb... It is really neat and we would love to experience that next! The property is very close to conveniences but feels like your deep in nature. A wonderful experience with great hosts.

    Sarah2016-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here was amazing! The bedroom, the outdoor shower, and the entire farm were so relaxing. Even though we arrived after dark, finding the farm and the treehouse was very easy. The location was great, an easy 5 minute drive to downtown Weaverville and 10-15 minutes to downtown Asheville. Zac and Beatriz (and Santiago) were eager to help with suggestions for hiking/dining in the area and were all-around great hosts. Definitely stay here if you have the chance!

    David2016-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a perfect getaway. We loved it here!

    Alex2017-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to experience the best Asheville has to offer, then this is where you should stay. So much more comfortable than camping while retaining all of the best parts of camping. The hosts are amazing and go above and beyond to make sure you're taken care of. The outdoor bathroom facilities may seem off-putting at first, but they're actually totally awesome. Everyone should experience showering outdoors at least once in their lives. It's amazing. If you enjoy fresh air and mountain views, don't hesitate to make this your next vacation spot.

    Chris2017-05-05T00:00:00Z

Quiet country life in a private community, just minutes from downtown Asheville. We have a small herd of sweet, friendly miniature goats which would love your attention. We often have kids (baby goats) too. Come for the fabulous hiking, the award winning restaurants, and a little goat therapy too.
Contemporary studio apartment, suitable for one person or a couple (one double bed). Living room with flat-screen TV (DVD player and Roku) and wireless internet provided, bedroom area with very comfortable double bed (all linens provided), fully stocked kitchen large dorm size refrigerator and separate small freezer, bathroom with shower. 7 miles or 10 minutes from downtown Asheville in east Asheville. 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and awesome hiking spots. We are situated in a 3-home private eco-community in the mountains right outside the city (Asheville). We have small dairy goats, vegetable gardens and live a quiet sustainable country life with Asheville's nightlife, restaurants, theaters, and fantastic hiking only a short 10 minute drive away. Studio apartment is very private with separate parking and private patio overlooking trees, goats pastures, and cow pastures. We are in the country outside Asheville (but only 7 miles)-- buses don't run out here so it's important to have your own transportation. We don't use cable TV anymore but have endless entertainment on Roku-- we have subscriptions for Netflix and HuluPlus and Amazon Video for both movies and TV shows. We have self-check-in and instant booking available. IMPORTANT: We have a lovely sweet labrador retriever, who is a rambunctious and super friendly 7 year old, and two cats. If you are afraid of dogs or don't like them, you should probably consider something else. Animals are NOT permitted in the studio apartment. Also, the goat area is fenced in with high voltage electric wire to keep predators out. Inside the goats pen, feel free to play with the goats! They are very friendly.
  • We had a wonderful stay with Julia in her Eco-cottage. The studio unit is tastefully decorated and very functional. The day we arrived we got to meet her beautiful baby goats and sweet lab Milo which made our visit even more special. Although we only stayed for 2 nights, we felt very welcome and comfortable. We will definitely stay with Julia again for our next Asheville visit!

    Michelle2014-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Julia's studio. It was conveniently located in a pretty wooded area and reasonably priced. The goats were fun to hang out with as was sweet Milo, her dog. The studio was nicely furnished with all the needed utensils. The stove was gas, a preference I enjoy when cooking. Julia was very warm and friendly. We highly recommend staying here.

    Shamsi2014-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely downstairs apartment that came stocked with all the essentials. It was very clean and comfortable. Quiet place away from town, but close enough to get to downtown in 15-20 minutes. Julia was very accommodating to our unavoidable late arrival, and offered great suggestions of restaurants nearby to visit. She also showed us her adorable goats, and Milo, Julia's dog, was super friendly and playful! Overall a wonderful stay and a great place for a relaxing getaway.

    Christina2016-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • julia is an exceptional host. the cottage is nestled in a private garden setting backing up to the woods. we enjoyed our stay immensely.

  • Julia was hospitable and her dog is probably the friendliest dog you'll ever meet. The apartment was cozy, private, quiet, and very comfortable, with all the amenities a traveler would need. I particularly enjoyed cooking with the cast iron pots and the super-comfy bed. The goats, as curious and intelligent as you might expect, added a lovely touch. Would stay again and would recommend.

    Azeem2015-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Can't say enough about how great Julia's place is. The room was clean and comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to make a great breakfast. The location is beautiful with nearby hiking that Julia provided maps for and a tip on where to find an amazing view. We arrived only a few days after baby goats had been born and we loved them and Julia's dog Milo. Highly recommend staying here!

  • Julia's place was fantastic! She was lovely, communicated promptly, and everything was exactly as described. The place was small but homey with everything you might need; we stayed there with 2 babies, and cooked most of our meals in the small but well appointed kitchen, and it worked out just fine. And, people, the animals are the best part! We were greeted by her big friendly lab and two sweet kitties (the black fluffy one is deaf and likes to hide out in your car, so make sure to check!) We were allowed into the goat and chicken pen to feed them our vegetable scraps, and I'm not sure who was more delighted, my kids or the grownups! A very short distance to a good grocery with decent organic offerings and a great coffee shop. Super convenient to both the Blue Ridge Parkway and downtown Asheville. Overall 10/10, would absolutely stay again.

  • What’s not to love about this place?! If you need a quiet, relaxing spot to rejuvenate then look no further. The accommodations were cozy, comfortable, and spotless. Julia made check-in and out a breeze, and the goats? Well, I couldn’t get enough of them! The host is available as much or as little as you’d like. If you don’t see her, a text gets a quick answer to any questions. I would highly recommend this spot and I would stay at Julia’s again without hesitation. 12/10 stars!

  • The "Urban Oasis" was just that - an urban oasis, as it is tucked away on a a side street in West Asheville. Dave and Melissa were very accommodating, as they were easy reach and respected our privacy. The location is ideal - many bars and restaurants are within walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the relaxing hot tub. We hope to return to both Asheville and Urban Oasis. Excellent Air BnB experience!

    Britta2015-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing spot! The house was spotless when we arrived and everything you needed was provided. The house even smelled of fresh cut flowers :) the hot tub was amazing as well as everything else about the house. The location was great as you are within walking distance of many shops and restaurants! Wish we could have stayed longer - can't wait to visit again!

    Tina2015-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was well equipped for our vacation, and the location in West Asheville was nice. Unfortunately we discovered the hot tub was broken when we arrived, and it wasn't usable for the first three days of our trip. We were pretty disappointed as this was the main reason we booked. If the hosts had checked this before we arrived, the problem could have been taken care of sooner.

    Jon And Maria2016-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was a fantastic place in a great West Asheville neighborhood. Clean, comfortable, walking distance to nice shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay at the oasis, and would highly recommend it!

    Al2015-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The communication leading up to our visit was great. The information of where the house is located and how to park was very helpful. The listing description was very accurate. It was cozy, but also had plenty of room for the two of us. You are close to the action and restaurants but the apartment is private and secluded.

    LAURA2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • We have greatly enjoyed our stay, the apartment is clean and cozy -just as pictured. The hot tub is a big bonus after a long day at the Biltmore. David and Melissa are very easy to communicate. We are looking forward to be back to Ashivelle in the Fall and staying at the Urban Oasis.

    Lili2015-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place, hot tub is a winner. Restaurants, shops, and bars within walking distance. Cheap UBER ride downtown. Having a bike would be ideal.

    Wyatt2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • David and Melissa's Urban Oasis in West Asheville was a great spot for our long weekend. The place is very easy to find, the hosts are extremely professional and communicative, and the location is excellent. You are within walking distance to a number of excellent restaurants and shops in West Asheville and a few minutes from dozens of breweries scattered about the River Arts District, South Slope, and Downtown. The Urban Oasis is 10 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway for great hiking. The apartment is stocked with anything you could want for an extended stay including a full kitchen and other amenities. The only downside is that it's close to the I-240, which doesn't make for the most serene setting while outdoors (realistically you aren't there much anyways!) on the porch.

Built in 2010, Waterfall Cottage provides a romantic, comfortable, rustic retreat space in the woods perched just above a magical flowing mountain stream. Drive only 15 minutes into Asheville, 7 to 10 minutes from hiking, restaurants, and grocery shopping.
Our beloved Waterfall Cottage is perfect for an individual or couple who wish to experience the best of both worlds, the peaceful zen of the woods with two mountain streams which come together on our property as well as being within 15 minutes driving distance to both downtown Asheville and Black Mountain (where you will find great abundance of amazing restaurants, shopping, nightlife and other attractions). The cottage contains a queen size bed. There is also a small living space with a futon plus table/chairs for 2 people, full bathroom (from which you have a view of our small waterfall), and a cozy galley kitchen (for simple food preparation). Your own private back deck also overlooks the water. The cottage is located on one acre of land in the Buckeye Cove Community of Swannanoa (between Asheville and Black Mountain). The "main house", where my husband Jason and I live, sits about 50 feet from Waterfall Cottage. If you like, you may also meander along the woodland path which we created along the perimeter of the property. We are eager to share our little piece of paradise with likehearted souls! NOTE: -To get to Waterfall Cottage, you will drive a half mile on an unpaved road. While there is a small amount of incline in spots and the road is not always in the best of condition, you do not need a special type of car to get to us. I personally drive a small Prius(not an all wheel drive car). The only time when driving in our neighborhood becomes problematic is when we are dealing with significant snow accumulation on the road. -Many guests at Waterfall Cottage are not able to get a signal on their cellphone. Usually driving a short distance out of our cove will restore your cellphone signal. We have Wifi on the property which works reasonably well, however guests' ability to connect to it is not 100% guaranteed. Also provided: -Sheets/Towels -TV with Roku including Netflix -Air conditioning/Heat -Refrigerator -Coffee maker(fresh local coffee and tea provided) -Toaster oven and Microwave oven -Blender -Two electric NuWave brand burners for cooking -Basic cookware/cooking utensils -Flatware service for 4 people, glasses, mugs, etc. -Standard staples such as dishsoap, handsoap, cooking oil, sugar/honey, salt/pepper. Jason and I have been practicing massage therapists in the Asheville area since 2001. For an additional charge, you can also book a single or couples massage with us for during your visit. Massage sessions will take place on-site in Waterfall Cottage. Massage therapy rates are: $75 per 70-minute session ($150 for couples massage) $100 per 90-minute session ($200 for couples massage) (We prefer that massage sessions are scheduled ahead of time before your arrival if possible.)
  • This was such a wonderful way to stay in Asheville! The cottage was cozy and warm, with a large comfortable bed, personal bathroom and shower, and well stocked amenities. The back porch provided a beautiful view of verdant nature. The babbling waterfall was the perfect noise to fall asleep too. Couldn't imagine a more comfortable and cozy stay!

    Gabe2014-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I stayed one night at the Waterfall Cottage and wished we had more time there! It's so quaint and a very short drive into Asheville. The sound of the stream just out the back door is really nice too. Liz took the time to talk to us as well, as I had questions regarding the massage therapy job market in the area. She recommended the Native as a good dinner spot, and it was delicious!! We would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

    Kristin2015-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I had a lovely stay at Waterfall Cottage. Liz's warm hospitality was very accommodating and flexible. The cottage was clean and comfortable in a beautiful woodsy setting. The organic locally roasted coffee was a perk! Would return in a heartbeat!

    Amy2015-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved it! Perfect distance from Ashville, very private and relaxing. Loved the area and the waterfall. We opened the window and slept to the sound of the (Website hidden by Airbnb) nice. We also, grabbed groceries in ashville and cooked. Perfect night.

  • Waterfall Cottage was great! My boyfriend and I were looking for something quiet and pretty, so he could get some schoolwork done, but we also wanted easy access to Asheville to hang out, eat, drink, etc. You're about 15 minutes from downtown via car at the Cottage, and it's just lovely. The bed is SO COMFY that I need to e-mail Liz and ask her what the mattress brand is, there's a fridge, microwave, nice shower, fresh coffee, pretty much everything 1-2 people could need. Liz stopped by once to refill us on coffee (very necessary) but otherwise just let us do our thing. I'd definitely come back! Missing that backyard already...

    Sarah2016-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at the cottage was perfect! Liz thought of everything you could possibly need to feel cozy, taken care of, and self-sufficient. The cottage has a magical feeling and the surrounding setting is equally peaceful and beautiful. Liz also had a great balance of being available if we needed anything, but giving us space and freedom. One of the best places I've stayed. I'd recommend it to anyone!!

    Kimberly2015-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was exactly as described and wonderful. It is hidden away just about a 15 minute drive from downtown Asheville. The drive was easy and makes you feel like you are in a different world. The small back porch with the running waterfall was amazing. We slept with the door slightly open so we could hear the sound of water throughout the evening. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the living space was more than sufficient for 2 people. Liz was very communicative, but gave us our space. I would highly recommend!

    Sara2016-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at the Waterfall Cottage. The cottage itself was nice and cozy and the setting was superlative--romantic and relaxing. The location is convenient to Asheville but far enough to give you a peaceful retreat at the end of the day. Liz was out of town, but her house-sitting friend welcomed us, and everything went seamlessly. This is the place to stay if you are visiting Asheville.

The "rad pad" is a 600 square foot open, airy, modern nest just two blocks off of funky West Asheville's Haywood Road. Our neighborhood is HIGHLY walkable with tons of restaurants, coffee shops and other goodies just a short walk away! We offer safe and secure off road parking directly above your abode. We'd love to have ya...p.s. we've been "superhosts" every quarter since we made our space available to our lovely guests.
One huge studio with milk stained wood ceiling and large beams, shower with floor to ceiling subway tile, concrete floors throughout, kitchenette with coffee maker, mini fridge and toaster oven (not that you should eat in while you're here, but maybe you need to heat up those left overs?). The bathroom has two specific areas, a shower area with sink and nice table for toiletries and another space with the toilet and another sink, with drawers for clothing or toiletries. The bed is a super comfy queen with down pillows and comforter. We also provide slippers and robes for our guests to feel like the kings and queens you are! Please enjoy the front porch/stoop of your pad and the provided chairs, too!
West is BEST! West Asheville is where most of the artists in this city live, as well as an eclectic mix of other vibrant people. We're a middle class neighborhood with a touch of grit and a whole lot of revival.
  • I have absolutely nothing but adoring things to say about this place. the only painful part about it was having to leave. incredibly designed. everything you could ever need. comfy as hell. amazing location in a heart melting town. Meg is a spectacular human and she is renting out a place you will be hard pressed to not love. I *will* be back in Asheville soon, and I will do everything in my power to stay here again. thank you a gazillion times for everything miss Meg! ❤️

  • The place truly was an urban oasis- calm, beautiful, and well located within a cool Asheville neighborhood. The host was especially accommodating for us when we booked at the last minute. A great place to stay in W Asheville!

    Laura2015-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time and really enjoyed staying at Meg's place. We really liked the feel of the space with its open layout and high ceilings. The location was convenient, and Meg gave some great tips on local spots to check out. She even left us a magazine detailing swimming holes in the area and a map of the breweries around town as I had mentioned wanting to do those things. I really appreciated the toughtfulness in that added touch. I would definitely reccomended this listing.

    James2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay! The space was large, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The walk-in shower was amazing and the front patio was a great place to enjoy our coffee in the morning. The neighborhood has a lot of character and offered several great places within walking distance. Meg was a lovely host and offered us a great recommendation on where to go for a day hike off the Blue Ridge Parkway. If I ever find myself back in Asheville, I would love to stay here again!

    Nicole2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Meg was a great host. She kept in constant contact and provided loads of helpful recommendations. The studio was immaculate and positioned in a great location. We would definitely visit again

  • Meg was great at communicating with me and made me feel very welcome. Though I did not actually see her, due to the short duration of my stay, she had everything ready for us upon our arrival. The neighborhood was lovely and very conveniently located. I only wish our stay could have been longer! I would definitely recommend this location to a friend and would stay here again!

    Shonda2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely wonderful. The room is beautiful and comforting. We had such a relaxing time while there. Meg made sure we had everything we needed, including any recommendations we were seeking out while we spent our time in Asheville. It was located in western Asheville and was walking district to a beautiful park and all of the funky new businesses opening in the area. I cannot speak highly enough of our time spent at this location and the people who manage it.

    Sam2015-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • The space was exactly as advertised. Very cute, very clean. Quiet family neighborhood. Meg left us a list of places to see / eat, etc. both in West Asheville and in downtown Asheville, which was very helpful. She greeted us the day after out arrival and was warm and welcoming. There were nice clean towels, a bathrobe, soft linens. All makings for coffee, which we enjoyed on the little front porch. Plus beer and water in fridge. Would definitely stay there are again.

Spend a unique night in our beautifully converted bus. Nestled in a pine forest at the crest of a ridge overlooking the Black mountains, but just 15 minutes from downtown Asheville. This romantic sanctuary is peaceful and lush.
This is not your typical hippy bus! Elegantly furnished and nestled in a pine grove, the bus provides a plush full size bed, sink, and eating area. The bus sits in the shade of the forest, is lined with windows and equipped with a standing fan so it stays totally cool and comfortable through the summer. It has electricity and a coffee maker. Sheets and towels are provided.
  • Sparklebark was a beautiful place to stay. Our hosts were very kind and accommodating - we will definitely recommend them to our friends and family who visit the area!

    Adam2018-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, cozy, and relaxing! The explanations and descriptions provided by the hosts made it easy to find Sparklebark from the road and tell you all the little things you’ll need to know.

    Abigail2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Sparklebark was a truly magical experience! The bus was so cozy and romantic, my boyfriend and I really enjoyed it. It rained (and hailed) the first night we got there which only added to the overall feel of it. Next time we visit Asheville we will check and see if we can stay here first!

    Catherine2016-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I spent a short weekend on the bus here at Sparklebark Farm and couldn't have asked for a better experience! The bus was cozy, clean, and extremely unique. Set against the backdrop of forest and mountains, you couldn't ask for a more scenic view to wake up to. The shower and bathroom facilities were equally as clean as comfortable to use as well, and are only a short walk through the grass to the bus. They've got something special at Sparklebark Farm, and we highly recommend you check it out! The beautiful farm, scenic backdrop, and sense of respect for the land and people staying there are wonderful. We know we'll be back.

    John2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • The best and most unique places to stay that I've found! Very nice hosts, beautiful location and easy to get to most anywhere in the area. Highly recommend to anyone interested in staying in this type of atmosphere. Can't say enough nice things. Loved every moment!

    Tanya2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as described. Zack met us in the yard and gave us an overview of where everything was.

    Will2016-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying on the bus at Sparklebark, which I think speaks to the appeal of this listing! Staying on the bus is truly such a joy. Waking up to the sounds of roosters crowing and birds chirping and ending adventure-filled days overlooking the nearby mountain ranges is so rejuvenating that words cannot do the experience justice. I had the opportunity to bring a friend with me this time; Zac and Beatriz were so accommodating of my additional (unexpected) guest, and it was amazing to experience the joys of Sparklebark with someone else this time around. Most of our time was spent being left speechless by how beautiful the location is—not just the natural beauty, but the tremendous amount of work that Zac and Beatriz put into making the grounds as beautiful as they are. I truly can't explain how much I've loved staying on the farm, and I can't recommend this listing highly enough. If you have the opportunity to stay at Sparklebark, don't pass it up!

    Caitrin2016-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • As someone who will fully admit I am not a camper...I absolutely loved my stay here! Sparklebark is conveniently located 15 minutes from downtown Asheville and within an hours drive to several hikes and local features. The bus itself is extremely comfortable and provided a romantic space for a getaway. I was worried about being really hot since we came in June but between the shade of the trees and the fan we were very comfortable. There is also fresh water in the bus for washing your hands, brushing teeth, etc. which was really nice. Composting toilet was easy to use as well. Our hosts were very welcoming and provided lots of suggestions on what to see and do while we were in the Asheville area. I will definitely be booking here again!

If you are looking for a secluded mountain getaway this is not the place but if you looking to be in the heart of downtown festivities then our loft is the perfect place for you. Our loft has local art, full window view of College St., high ceilings, exposed brick. We are right in the center of all of the downtown action. Downtown is lively especially at night where you can enjoy craft cocktails, amazing food and live music.
Luxury 1 bedroom loft located in the heart of downtown Asheville
Downtown Asheville is energetic and we are right in the center of the action! Lots of cool spaces to explore, amazing restaurants and nightlife. We are across the street from Table and Imperial Life, which features a Friday late night Hip Hop Dance party. We are two doors down from the One Stop/Asheville Music Hall which stays open late and features funk, reggae, and rock. Old time, bluegrass, celtic, rock, symphony, African drumming, trad jazz, modern jazz, gypsy, singer-songwriters and eclectic street performers are a stone's throw from here as well. Award winning restaurants including sushi, Indian (north or south), Korean, Italian, BBQ, Southern, vegan, charcuterie, farm-to-table, pizza, Spanish, gluten free, French, Chinese, Ethiopian, Himalayan, bakeries, coffee houses, tea, four chocolateries, twelve breweries (and counting…) and food trucks galore. Art galleries feature openings every weekend in downtown and nearby and keep daytime business hours to explore artists from the area and from afar.
  • Krista was a joy to communicate with, we booked last minute and she was quick to respond! The loft was perfect for our short stay in town, very clean and met all of our needs. The loft was also a quick walk to all restaurants and breweries downtown!

  • This is a beautiful and spacious apartment in an ideal location. Only two short blocks from the intersection of Haywood and Wall street, in the center of everything. Parking is right across the street! The bed and bedding was very comfortable and linens were plush and luxurious. Krista was the perfect hostess. She communicated clearly and promptly to all our requests, and proactively anticipated some of our questions before we even had a chance to ask them. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Asheville.

    Patrick & Suzanne2014-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about Krista’s apartment was top notch. Everything we could have needed was there. The location was perfect and the book filled with instructions and suggestions for dining and touring was well done. We had a wonderful time in Asheville and would not hesitate to stay there again if we were to ever return.

    Susan2017-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Krista's is right in the middle of everything. I highly recommend staying here if you are footloose! Tops for shoes is directly across the street, which is a little dangerous!

    Joy2018-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place is exactly as described and is excellent location central to everything you would want downtown. Krista messaged a couple times just to make sure everything was okay, which of course it was. This was my third Airbnb experience and I would say the best so far in terms of the overall apartment, cleanliness, and comfort.

    Marlin2018-05-23T00:00:00Z

One bedroom, one bath private basement apartment in beautiful mountain home. Private entrance, incredible views and tons of outdoor space including fire pit.
Finished basement apartment. The bedroom has a queen bed, cedar lined closet and vanity closet with sink. There is no window in the bedroom. Some people really like having a very dark bedroom, for others it can be unsettling. Both the kitchen and the bathroom do have windows. The laundry room has washer and dryer that you are welcome to use, along with a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and toaster. This kitchen is not set up for heavy duty cooking (no pots and pans, stove top or oven) but it gets the job done for casual meals or reheating leftovers. Dishes are provided. The bathroom is small but has excellent water pressure. Please note that there is no internet or cell reception indoors, although you can get a clear signal outside. There is a tv with a dvd player and movies, no cable. The house has beautiful views and loads of space to roam. There's an outdoor fire pit that you are more than welcome to use, and hammocks for lounging in the summer. Very private location that feels like you're far out in the woods but you're really only minutes from Asheville and Black Mountain.
The best thing about this neighborhood is that there isn't really one! The house is fairly secluded but still only a short drive to Asheville or Black Mountain. The roads close to my home are very windy, so you may want to add a few minutes to your expected commute if you're not used to mountain roads.
  • Overall, we enjoyed our stay. With it, we got a private bathroom, private room, and a full kitchen, so it’s definitely a good value for the cost. You do get complete privacy here. Ellie sent us a couple messages checking up on us, but we never actually met her. It is a little out of the way from downtown Asheville, which can be difficult due to the lack of cell phone service. It was fine and actually kind of fun being unplugged for a couple nights... Just make sure you get all your planning done in advance. This place is very off the grid. We actually saw about 9 wild turkeys on our drive out, which was awesome.

  • We loved staying in Ellie's place! The privacy was what we were really looking for and completely got that here. It's a great little hideaway to unplug. Great location for a couples getaway. We would stay here again for sure!

  • This place is very comfortable, I recommend it!

    Antoine2016-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Ellie’s place was beautiful. The area was gorgeous with lots of surrounding farm land. The pictures and description were accurate and the decor in the basement apartment was super cute. The only hiccup which ended up being pretty big for us (we traveled by car and were on 36 hours no sleep with our daughter) was that when we shut all the lights off around 7:30/8, there was a loud chatter/eeeeek sound coming out of the chimney! It scared us! We thought it was a bat! We had to get back in the car to drive to cell service to call Ellie. Unfortunately, I called a few times but with no answer. We went back and packed our stuff, left and then got cell service again. Ellie ended up calling us back and when I told her what was happening she felt bad and assured us that there was no bat and it was actually a bird called a chimney Swift!!! They roost up top of the chimney but the noise bellows down and sounds like it’s in the chimney! We decided to go back and all was quite with the birds. We got a great nights sleep and off we went. The hardest part was having to drive back and forth to try to get cell service when we really needed to get in touch with our host.

  • This was a lovely and secluded place. It was relaxing and low-key.

    Hănnah2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • This basement apartment is awesome. Ideal for a single person or a couple. There was plenty of room for two of us. Stocked with everything you need. Felt like home. Ellie responds almost instantly and is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Would definitely recommend if you're in need of a place to stay.

    Darrell2017-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little apartment in a beautiful, serene location. Ellie's instructions were clear and helpful, it was the perfect quiet stopover on our trip through the mountains.

This cozy room has a comfortable queen-sized bed, a private bathroom, and your own entrance. Walkable to Downtown and the River Arts District. Very close to the Biltmore Estate and West Asheville. Easy parking. People of Color & white people welcome; LGBTQ & straight friendly. Dogs too, but not on the bed. (Read our pet policy below!)
Simple, clean and comfy w/ queen-sized bed, private bath, good shower, fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, & wireless internet. Breakfast is on your own, but why eat in your room when Foodtopia awaits you? We are LGBTQ and straight friendly. People of Color and white people are welcome. Our home is an urban micro-farm in the making and a land partner in Patchwork Urban Farms. (We’ve prioritize cultivating pollinator habitat and building soil over manicuring a lawn). We are an easy walk or bike to the River Arts District (less than 1/2 mile) and Downtown (1/2 mile to Southslope, then another few blocks to Pritchard Park). It's downhill all the way home from downtown :) You can bike to West Asheville (less than 2 miles) or UNCA (about 3 miles). We're also really close to Biltmore Village and the entrance to the Biltmore Estate (less than 2 miles). Pet friendly for dogs with well-behaved humans (**see notes below re: dogs). Dogs count as an EXTRA guest. (So if there are two humans and one dog that's three guests altogether.) We love Asheville & love to help others love it too. We're happy to offer guidance and suggestions or to leave you to have your own experience. Check out our guidebook for this listing. Our place is simple and affordable but with the added bonus of a private bath and private entrance. You will be welcome and comfortable here. (**A note for visitors with dogs: I love dogs. Absolutely love 'em. I don't provide a crate, and your dog cannot be on the bed. Yes, I will know. If your dog has never stayed in a crate before this won't be a good place to get him or her used to it. Try it at home first. I prefer you not leave your dog here while you're gone. They tend to feel stressed in a strange place, hearing strange noises. So please be prepared to take your dog with you when you go out. Asheville is a very dog-friendly town. Lot's of places with outdoor seating and a few that allow dogs inside. When you arrive there will likely be a moment of excitement when your dog meets our dog, Minnie. Expect barking and sniffing. It's a good idea to let your dog have a walk across the street after traveling and the excitement of meeting another dog in a new place. Thanks!)
The South French Broad neighborhood is on the south-west fringes of downtown so it's easy to get most anywhere in Asheville. I love the urban stream right across the street, the proximity to the river and how it's perfectly situated to be a leading area for urban sustainability and urban agriculture.
  • Bedding was not clean. I felt somewhat uncomfortable in this place as the host was very often downstairs in a space only separated by a curtain from my living space. The home and neighborhood was a bit sketchy.

  • Michelle was great and very welcoming . She wasn't there when I arrived , but she sent a detailed message with exact instructions on where to find the keys and what to do when I got there . The room was nice , very quiet place. She checked on me in the am . I recommend her place.

  • The host was very welcoming. Everything was clean and there was plenty of information about the city.

  • We had a great experience. The bed was SO comfortable! It was my 1st Airbnb experience so I didn't really read through the itinerary as I should have, because I parked in the wrong spot, but our host Michelle was understanding. Again, what a great room it was!

    Dee2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic! We were only in town for one night for a concert, and it was great having a private and comfortable place to stay. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and parking was easy. Short and easy drive to downtown, too! Although we only met Michelle in the morning before we left, she was incredibly kind and helpful during our stay. I would absolutely stay here again.

An adorable, romantic, Moroccan influenced getaway close to downtown and walking distance to West Asheville's restaurants and shops. This cottage sanctuary is truly a three-dimensional piece of art, with exquisite architecture and artistic touches. Quiet street and family neighborhood. Queen bed upstairs and single reading/sleeping loft downstairs. Three blocks to Carrier Park, two miles to the River District, and a short stroll to Owl (amazing bakery)
Your own cottage in the heart of East West Asheville. River Arts district is 5 minutes away by car. Unique two-story cottage built by two designers in West (Website hidden by Airbnb) looks and feels like a house you may find in Morocco or Majorca . It's only four years old , but built to look like an old villa. Heating and air conditioning, ceiling fan above bed. 100 % cotton bedding and throws are throughout the house. Walking distance to Haywood Rd. Pizza Mind, Owl Bakery, Hole Donuts, Short Street Cakes, The Apple Orchard Cider house, Walk and my favorite for dinner, The 5 star restaurant The Admiral or more casual Bim Beri Bon. Villagers is across the street from Owl. They carry a unique selection of books on homesteading, fermenting, herbs and gardening along with interesting home goods such as local pottery and cutting boards. Two cats, Rue (gray) and Gingko (black) live on the property and sometimes wander around the cottage door looking for an ear scratch. Chickens also live on the south side of the property. Cats and dogs live in my house- the blue one.
Mostly bungalows, friendly, low key, walk big distance to Haywood Road's restaurants and Carrier Park. The Admiral, Owl Bakery, Villagers ( home goods) and Bim Beri Bon are all above average.
  • Camille was an absolutely awesome host! The cottage was just as pictured, and the location can't be beat. It felt like we were only 10 minutes or less away from everything (by car) which is nice if you've never been to Asheville and want to cram in as much as possible during a short visit :)

    Hilarion2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here! Camille and Willy were friendly and welcoming. The Mermaid Cottage was small, but a great size for us. It took us a few minutes to figure out how to turn the fan on (it was a warm weekend), but once we did the place stayed the perfect temperature. And it was beautiful on the inside. We will definitely be back!

    Lindsey2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy cottage nestled in a quiet but growing neighborhood. A lovely place from which to venture out on the town, or for a peaceful retreat.

    David2016-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is nested in a charming, blooming neighborhood of colorful houses and tiny streets. The architecture is foreign but somehow perfectly placed. The cottage is the epitome of well designed space, making total use of natural light and the inviting floor plan. Walking in was like traveling to a whole new place—the space is thoughtfully arranged, extremely usable, and touches of design abound. The kitchen was stocked with all kinds of utensils and cookware, the bathroom was clean and towels were provided. The stay was very enjoyable—highly recommend. As a taller person, I have to mention that if you're above 6'3" you may not fit in the loft bed very well as the mattress is wall to wall—there's no room for feet to hang off.

    Josh2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • I can honestly say the Mermaid Cottage is like my home away from home when we're in Asheville. Camille is a fantastic host. Always makes you feel welcome. Her home is a wonderful oasis offering a restful getaway. Can't wait for our next stay.

  • The mermaid cottage is my new favorite home away from home. It feels like a villa in another country and Camille has made it so cozy with the beautiful decor. She provides everything you need for a relaxing stay in Asheville. We definitely hope to come back!!

Directly on Haywood Road, within walking distance to bars, restaurants, shops, and all of the cool things that make Asheville great, come enjoy a newly remodeled private home in the heart of West Asheville. It's located less than 5 minutes to downtown, while biking/walking are convenient if you plan to stay in West Asheville. Includes private 6 person hot tub, custom double shower, private outdoor space with grill, king beds, fully stocked kitchen, high speed internet and a large smart TV.
The hot tub is now working! Welcome to Asheville, North Carolina! This is a historic home located directly on Haywood Road, with lots of modern updates. Designed and remodeled by an award winning contractor and I, we really wanted to bring back the original shine and actually restore it to give it a very retro feel, along with adding some unique updates and making it specifically catered to visitors of Asheville. It's very easy to walk to local places like BattleCat Coffee with the Tiger Bay cafe in the back, or Owl Bakery which has amazing brunch on Sunday. Pizza Mind is a short walk up to Beachums Corner, and The WALK, other shops, Taco Billy, antique stores, and some other really cool spots are on our little "east west" portion of the West side. New Belgium Brewing is about a 2 minute bike ride down the hill, although it's a little longer climbing back up... Archetype Brewery is a 30 second walk down the street, with Urban Orchard down a little further if you enjoy cider. BJ's is a gas station right up the street with a decent beer selection. Wine is available across the street from that at the Gas-Up. Oysterhouse, Sunny Point Cafe, Ingles grocery store, and other cool restaurants (I make my favorite recommendations in the house manual) are a bit further of a walk on Haywood, but still easy on a sunny day. We're less than a 5 minute uber/lyft ride to downtown Asheville, and less than 10 minutes to the Biltmore Estate. Every bedroom has a large memory foam king mattress, with the master bathroom having a large double shower with a window facing our bamboo forest. There's a 6 person hot tub in the fully fenced in outdoor patio, along with a hammock, grill, and outdoor seating. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need to cook a meal and serve your friends and family. We wanted to preserve the mid-century modern feel of the original kitchen. Home includes washing machine and dryer, towels, linens, and some parking. There is room for two cars to park in the driveway, and more on street parking. We provide high speed internet, and Netflix and Sling (which is just like cable) on the smart TV, along with a futon for extra guests.
The neighborhood is right in the middle of everything in West Asheville, directly on Haywood Road. It's easy to walk to various restaurants, bars, shops, and we're super close to downtown. It's about as close to an urban oasis as you can get.
  • awesome place. big tv and the hot tub was amazing.

  • My friend and I had the hardest time leaving this lovely spot! We only stayed for a night but enjoyed every minute. Beautifully designed yet freshly minimalistic, I have every intent of returning some day. Bed/sheets were comfortable, bathroom/shower was spacious with plenty of hot water, kitchen had full utilities, check in/out was simple, bluetooth speakers were a great plus. There were bunnies in the back yard that were too precious not to play with as well. Paul was incredibly quick with responding and very accommodating. You can tell he's well traveled and can offer plenty of tips. As I said before, I hope to return back to this gem. Highly highly recommend!

    Eunice2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's place is a gem. The description is extremely accurate, the place is immaculate, and the location is serene and beautiful. It's very quiet and feels secluded despite being very close to a major street. The house itself is beautiful, well-crafted and tastefully decorated, and it has everything you need for a short stay. The bed is super comfortable, the towels and linens are spotless, and Paul offers his guests some hand-crafted soaps for the shower. My husband and I were very, very happy with our stay, and would love to come back if we are ever in Asheville again.

    Alina2017-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely adorable cottage just 5-10 minutes outside of downtown Asheville. Exactly as the description says. Paul was so welcoming and had a fire started for us in the wood burning stove upon our arrival. Unbelievably cozy and relaxing. We were able to easily access some local hikes as well as explore the brewery scene downtown. Highly recommend!

    Amanda2017-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a hidden gem. Paul is an outstanding host; he made us feel welcomed and comfortable from the very moment we arrived. Everything was sparkling clean, he showed us how to use the wood-burning stove, and he genuinely took the time to make sure we had everything we needed. Very close to everything Asheville and the surrounding areas have to offer. We highly recommend this cottage as a romantic getaway or friendly reunion spot!

    Leslie2018-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Impeccable charm! Immaculately clean. The wood-burning stove provided the warmth I needed and the quiet crackle of the fire was therapeutic. Each room was well arranged and the coffee was deliciously high grade. The shower head was huge and very unique (to me). Everything in the place has style and character, like something out of a magazine. Paul was great, too! Very communicative and helpful.

    Frank2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute little place for a weekend getaway! Paul's place is conveniently located to downtown & the Biltmore. We greatly enjoyed our stay.

    Stephanie2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • EVERYTHING about Paul's home was amazing! He was a fantastic host, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our entire stay. We will certainly be back and recommending Paul's place to everyone we know!

    Meaghan2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's place was great and he couldn't have been more accommodating. Close to downtown but out of the hustle & bustle. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful custom built space!! Tastefully decorated, first class accommodations on the mountain overlooking Asheville. THOROUGHLY cleaned between each guest, leaving the space feeling fresh and inviting. Exposed rock wall opposite original outside wall; just a couple of the details that give this listing a unique and comfortable feel. Beautiful mountain views above with city lights below. This charming space is a short five minutes and $5 Uber ride from downtown Asheville yet feels worlds away.
Beautiful customized studio with wood slab bathroom vanity and office space, a unique rock wall and original outside wood wall. Creative touches throughout the space. Both charming and classy. Super clean and equipped with a shared laundry room and big bathroom. The kitchenette has everything you could need to feel at home when you're away from home, including a beautiful customized concrete countertop. It is equipped with a small refrigerator, hot plate, toaster oven, microwave and a coffee maker (coffee and creamer also provided). Netflix and Hulu streaming available via Roku and mounted flat screen TV. What else could you need?! :) Plenty of privacy with a separate entrance. Beautiful French doors let in lots of light and allow guests to enjoy the fresh air on nice days. Outside space with table and chairs for guests to relax the day away. Lots of space on this double lot on our small mountain leaves you feeling away from it all even though you're merely minutes from downtown. We are super convenient to grocery stores and tons of restaurants downtown. Suitable for two adults; children are welcome as well although the space is not child proof and I don't have separate sleeping arrangements. This space is one of two rentals on the lower level of my home. Each rental has a private entrance on either side of the house and my entrance is at the front of the house so privacy coming and going is not an issue. If this space does not fulfill your needs please check out my other Airbnb listing :) The apartments share a laundry room space but locked doors keep each space totally private. There is a perfect opportunity here to book both for larger families or couples traveling together. I will send instructions when it gets close to your reservation. Please read them carefully to be sure you choose the correct apartment upon arrival.
I like to think I live on Asheville's best kept secret! It's quiet, has beautiful views and is close to everything. Depending on which way you go down the mountain you are truly not far from wherever you're headed. You can be downtown in minutes to enjoy all the excitement Asheville has to offer and then retire home in the evening for a quiet peaceful night. You also have easy access to 240 to get to your next hike. I wouldn't want to call anywhere else home!
  • This apartment was spacious and comfortable. It is a one room studio apartment that has all the space and conveniences needed. It was clean and welcoming. It was a short drive to down town Asheville and the many breweries and restaurants there. It was also a short drive to many hiking areas.

    Joan2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a such a cute little studio apartment! I loved that it had everything we needed. It's great to feel so secluded up in the mountains and only be an 8 minute drive from downtown. Dorothy was always just a message away if we needed her but everything was so well set up that we had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again!

    Jordan2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This property was absolutely great. Very close to shops and restaurants (8 minute Uber ride to downtown area), very clean and thoughtful room, and extremely homey. Also, Dorothy was unbelievably prepared for our stay. She was flexible with our arrival considering traffic we encountered. Clear communication and great suggestions for local food and entertainment was extremely helpful. Can't speak more highly of.

    Cory2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place was wonderful! Clean and tidy and had everything we needed for our stay! The location was perfect, a short drive to downtown. And best of all our two dogs were able to stay with us! I will stay here again next time we visit!

  • Adorable little apartment! Has everything that you need and lots of personal touches and great recommendations. The location is great, tucked away just out of downtown gives great accessibility to everything Asheville has to offer but also plenty of privacy and some pretty mountain views in the area. Definitely read Dorothy's direction's on how to find the place, (Hidden by Airbnb) won't get you there but her directions will!

    Corey2018-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Dorothy's place and we couldn't recommend it more! Exceptional clean and has everything you could possibly need. Very convenient to downtown Asheville; GREAT value! Dorothy is a great host, makes you feel right at home. We're already looking forward to our next trip!

ENTIRE PRIVATE HOME - Our comfortable home in the mountains awaits your arrival! Really cool outdoor living spaces, great kitchen, high speed internet and views of Spivey mountain are some of the highlights here. It's Located in a quiet low traffic neighborhood just minutes to West Asheville and downtown.
Feel free to make use of the outdoor fireplace, patio, and anything else in the home. I try to make this house feel like your "home away from home" so if there's anything you need please let me know and I'll do my best to help you.
The house is located at the end of a dead end street surrounded by an apple farm, horses, and quiet neighbors in the county.
  • Great location to downtown and west side of Asheville and still has a secluded feel! House is nice and communication was quick with owners. Highly recommend.

  • We got to stay at Shawn's house for one night. It was an easy Uber ride down into Asheville, it was perfect for our large group, simple, and comfortable. Beautiful front porch area, great back yard, it was very lovely.

    Lauren2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house is gorgeous and in a very quiet neighborhood with a great view! We did have a good time and most everything we needed was available in the kitchen. I would not say the house sleeps 12 and luckily not all of my guests showed up. We still had a little issue with figuring out where everyone was going to sleep since I had three couples not willing to share their bed and there wasn't any bedding left out for the couches. Also the "hot tub" ended up being a jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom.

    Candice2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Shawn's place! There were 7 of us and we were completely comfortable with the amount of space and the king beds were an added bonus! The extra amenities like the hot tub and outdoor deck are awesome! We had a few moments where we wished the kitchen was a little more equipped with cooking/storage supplies, but overall it was great! Would definitely recommend.

    Grace2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience overall and great support from the owner. The house looks pretty and it's very comfortable. The olny downer was that someone forgot to run the washing machine on the kitchen and the smell was terrible. problably just human error.

We are in the very upper echelon of guest satisfaction; a superhost for 7 consecutive quarters; 117 reservations in the past year, each giving 5 star reviews; meaning there is no higher level of guest satisfaction. Spacious, private and lovely, this one-bedroom apartment is on the lower level of our three-story home. You've own private entrance and deck. You’re in the woods but 5-10 minutes away from popular spots, downtown, Biltmore Estate, the Blue Ridge Parkway and River Arts District.
We are in the upper echelon of guest satisfaction as 100% of our 117 reservations last year gave us a 5 star rating, meaning there is in essence, no higher level of guest satisfaction than what we have attained. We were chosen by a senior AirBnB staff to be the place they stayed at. "The two of you are the definition of what it means to be a remarkable AirBnB host. The care you put into the host-guest relationship is noticed and truly appreciated." Another recent guest said "You guys were amazing, by far the best AirBnB stay I have ever had! Out of the numerous stays I have had through AirBnB, this was my best trip by far." Spacious, very private, peaceful and lovely, this one-bedroom apartment is on the lower level of a 2013 built, three-story, local notable artist’s home. Amongst other amenities, it has filtered water, a mini-fridge, small microwave, and coffee maker. There is not a stove/oven. Situated in a quiet, historic Asheville neighborhood – Kenilworth - there is lots of natural light through windows that face the woods. Enter through your own private entrance and enjoy your own deck overlooking the lush woods for three seasons, or a mountain view when the leaves are down. It is very private giving you all the space you need. Tall, mature trees grace your entrance and apartment, giving the visual perspective of being in a tree house. You hear the sounds of Asheville in the woods, everything from the train toot, to the plentiful birds, to the foxes in the neighborhood. This special hide-away is centrally located & 5-10 minutes to just about all of Asheville's major destinations, including Downtown, Biltmore Estate, Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Village, and River Arts District. Sleeps up to five guests with a master bedroom, sleeping nook off the living room with a full sized bed, and room for air mattresses in the living room. A one-of-a kind custom made wooden pallet bed frame holds the extremely comfortable king sized bed, with luxurious linens. Many guests said it was the best bed they ever slept on. The living room couch can be used for sleeping for the extra teenager. LGBT, family & kid friendly. Calming colors, organic cork floors throughout and eco-friendly. We have a dog and two cats and while our AirBnB guests are in their own quarters, we have found it becomes too complicated to allow other pets. As such, we cannot accept reservations with pets. Lynn is an Asheville artist, who has shown nationally and can guide you to some of the most interesting art related places in town (in addition to her own River Arts District studio). Lynn also gives 2-3 day individual (or multiple people) artist retreats at her studio. Special Retreat discount for people who are our AirBnB guests. Jake is an ethics and compliance consultant. He is considered an accomplished chef by all who have dined at the house, and for stays of four or more nights, schedules permitting, it would give him pleasure to create a gourmet breakfast for you for one morning of your stay (included in the price). This Airbnb listing has been permitted by the City of Asheville. The Neighborhood Kenilworth is one of Asheville’s wonderful historic neighborhoods, a unique gem with its own distinct feel. You’re in the woods but 5-10 minutes away from all the major attractions, downtown, Biltmore Estate, Biltmore Village, the Blue Ridge Parkway and River Arts District. Majestic trees, safe streets, eclectic mix of housing styles and the 19-acre Kenilworth Lake – a 15 minute walk from the house - makes walking here great fun. Special Offer for Guests Schedule a min-retreat with Lynn while you’re here as our AirBnB guest and receive a 10% discount for the Retreat. We love living in Asheville and in our home, and we'd love to make your stay here be everything you want it to be - and more. Should you stay with us, we hope it will feel like a home away from home. Please let us know in anyway we can assist you.

  • This was our first experience with AirBnB and it was a very positive one. Although Jake and Lynn were out of town during our stay they passed off host responsibilities to a very capable and professional person who made sure we had everything we needed. After the initial meet/greet and "check-in", we were left alone to enjoy Asheville. Even though Jake was out of town, he still emailed me suggestions for local eateries which was much appreciated. You essentially have your own floor of the house. All rooms were very clean and there were no off-putting smells. The bedroom has a very comfortable and clean king bed along with a desk and closet. The bathroom is all tile with a large stand up shower. The living room has a 60" TV with all the entertainment options you might want. We mostly enjoyed sitting on the back deck looking into the woods. The neighborhood is very close to downtown Asheville and well located to access most everything else in the Asheville area. The roads are a bit narrow but even with my full size truck I found navigating the roads just fine and parking in front of the house was perfect. We will absolutely visit Jake and Lynn in our future visits to Asheville.

  • My first stay at an airbnb was fabulous. Wonderful accommodations, friendly and helpful hosts, beautiful setting! I felt like I was staying in a luxurious tree house with the view from the porch. Highly recommend!!

  • My husband and I decided to visit Asheville for my 30th birthday. We love visiting Asheville and were very excited after looking at pictures and reviews about staying at Lynn and Jakes. The space is more then enough for two people and Lynn and Jake are very accommodating. The bed is very comfortable and towels are really soft! Thanks again for the hospitality! We hope to stay again in the future! Jenna and Jeremy

    Jenna2016-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn and Jake were extremely welcoming and their space was spacious, filled with light, looked out onto trees and was very clean and well appointed. The shower was hot and the bed was very comfortable (both of these aren't always a sure thing with Airbnb!), with wonderful sheets and lovely towels in the bathroom. Jake made a great breakfast (your stay comes with one breakfast!). Lynn is an artist and the space has some amazing art and has clearly been furnished with an eye toward aesthetics - it was the perfect place for my Asheville getaway.

  • The accommodation is exactly as described by the hosts and as many reviewers positively report. It takes about 5 minutes to get downtown from the house and freeway access is about the same. The hosts are very friendly and provide many area tips. The parking is simple, directions are perfect. It does have a very large deck with comfortable chairs - I don't remember many reports of that but it is quite nice to sit out there and relax after dark.

  • This was our first Airbnb experience and it was incredible! Jake and Lynn helped to make our stay the best it could possibly be with their warm welcome and knowledgeable restaurant and area suggestions. We highly recommend this beautiful place! Keith and Menda Comstock Park, MI

  • We loved our stay and our host were very hospitable. Jake was very helpful and quick to answer any questions. Can't say enough great things about the bed!

  • Rock gave me a warm welcome and his space was charming and tranquil. I loved waking up to chirping birds and the goats and llamas outside my window. I mean - who doesn't love a tiny house!? This one earns its reputation. :)

    Kari2016-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Just finished a two week stay at Rocks tiny house. They were wonderful hosts and my first stay in a tiny home was a success. Was invited into there homestead and learned about its history and the greater Asheville area. Thank you for the wonderful experience and would recommend your abode as a destination in itself.

    Joseph2015-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Due to weather we were not able to stay at the Tiny House. Rock was excellent with communication and I feel we missed a great experience.

    Eric + Deb2015-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Even in a small space, appreciated there is Plenty of room for art! loved waking up to the goats, great coffee shop within walking distance- great location

    Debbie & Jim2016-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We didn't get to talk to them a lot but the place and the neighbor were great. Love the alpacas and goats as the closets neighbor next door. Great place for a short getaway. We really had a good time.

    Yea Eun2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice stay in the tiny house! Everything worked, stayed warm! Very clean.

    Daniel2016-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • While utterly adorable and clean and filled with lovely artwork, any all basic necessities this is not the right place for the faint of bones. The matress left us quite sore and there wasn't a comfortable place to sit (for reading, knitting, etc.) Sofa had no back (once pulled out from under the desk) and chairs were basic folding chairs. I would still rate this as a lovely place to stay, but it might not be the right place for everyone just for those reasons.

    Kaley And Amy2016-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house appeared exactly as advertised: cute and cozy. Rock was there to greet me with a friendly smile when I arrived, and I enjoyed meeting the alpacas (which are right outside the windows of the tiny house). I'd seen houses like this before but never stayed in one, and I enjoyed my stay overall. It felt very safe and surprisingly quiet despite its proximity to the road. The only issues I had were: a) as other reviewers have noted, the composting toilet likely will make the house smell if you don't open the windows (it was too cold to do so the night I was there); and b) for some reason, the hot water never showed up in the shower (it only got to almost lukewarm), although I waited a fair amount of time. To be fair, I didn't have a chance to bring the hot water issue to Rock's attention before I left, and there may have been a way to address it.

  • Lisa was very hospitable. She made sure her place was well lit up since my friends and I came in at a later time. She also had the hot tub ready for us when we got there! Her place is beautiful, with the decorations in the house and the scenic area you can view from the living room. She even had fire wood, starter logs, and cold beer in the fridge ready for her guests. She thought of everything!

    Christopher2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay, everything was clean and Lisa was great with communication, but overall, our thoughts echo many of the other somewhat mixed reviews here.

  • An awesome little place in a peaceful spot in the hills. Plenty of modern amenities and a cosy feel to this home made our stay very comfortable. Very clean and spacious too. I would definitely return to this home and stay again.

    Kris2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot, newly renovated. Nice views

    Benjamin2017-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa sent us a message immediately with all the details on how to get to her place and what to expect. She messaged us also the next day advising we can checkout late as well. Her place was very clean and modern. Only minor issues such as only one bathroom and fire pit was on a hill that caused the chairs to tip over. Overall it was a great value and would stay here again.

    Dhaval2016-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable mountain home and very tastefully decorated! Very comfortable for our one night stay! Hiking is down the way at a trail head as you are coming towards the home! Lisa definitely provided great communication and hospitality! Mary

  • Lisa's place is quiet and located in a beautiful area. The place was clean and well-organized with all the necessary kitchen essentials.

  • If you're looking for a neat, clean, cozy and comfortable place to escape to relax, yet be within 20 minutes or so of downtown Asheville, this would be your place. Went up there with the intention of Walking much of Asheville, but we wound up chilling at the house because it was so inviting. Recently renovated, it has excellent amenities including a really nice kitchen. We appreciated that it was pet friendly too. We'll be back... Thanks, Lisa!

  • We loved every minute at this beautiful mountain top studio. Great, easy to follow directions from Johnny on how to get there. The views were just wonderful and loved the awesome and spacious kitchen and the great porch to sit outside.

  • We loved our stay in the woods. John's place is perfect for solitude and hiking right out the door. The views are super from inside the cozy studio, too! My husband is ready to return yesterday. We so appreciate that John shares his home with others. Many thanks.

  • We had a wonderful time at the mountain top studio. The place is definitely off the beaten path which is exactly what we were hoping to find. The layout of the studio is perfect and we really enjoyed the view from the outdoor deck. The studio was very clean well stocked with h everything we needed in the kitchen. We will definitely try to stay here on our next trip to Asheville.

    Preston2015-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • great space. spent two nights. the view and accomodations were exactly as Johnny described. absolutely beautiful and quiet location at approximately 3000ft.

    Tim2015-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • The drive up the mountain was very cool! We loved how secluded all the houses were up there. The place is just as pictured and we just couldn't get over how beautiful it was. We would definitely return to the cabin alone or rent the whole house with a group of people. If you are looking for a quaint getaway, this place is it. Very relaxing!!

    Megan2016-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed a week in the studio and it was comfortable, quiet and cozy. The place had everything we could think of needing. Would definitely come back!

    Emily2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect place to stay at if you want to explore Blue Ridge Mountains. Location is perfect - secluded in a private development, however very close to Asheville NC and Blue Ridge Parkway with all beautiful overlooks and hiking trails. Also a couple of trails starts right next to the studio. The studio itself is very comfortable - kitchen with all required kitchenware and appliances, even such things as sugar, oil, salt and pepper supplied; comfortable bed, dining area and the bathroom with walk-in shower. We arrived late so the host left eggs and milk for us in the fridge which was very thoughtful. 2 things to consider and be aware of if you decide to rent it - 1) the studio is the low level of 2-level cabin, so there may be people staying on the upper level and even they are completely separate (we never saw our "neighbors" during our 3-day staying) you will hear them. And 2) these are mountains, so water is luxury up there. If you like to splurge water in shower, then it's probably not for you.

    Natalia2016-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was a very nice and quiet place, other than occasional noise from the upstairs neighbors (didn't bother me). It was very clean and had a full kitchen and bathroom. The host responded promptly to text messages and provided tons of helpful details about area sights, as well as good directions on finding the place. I enjoyed how the place was decorated. I would have liked a real bed as opposed to a futon and perhaps a bigger mirror in the bathroom or somewhere else in the property, but other than that everything was great. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Experience the best that Black Mountain has to offer from this unique one of a kind experience! This quaint living space is directly above a little food market and cafe and overlooks a beautiful garden and greenhouse. Only steps away from the heart of Black Mountain and a fifteen-minute drive to downtown Asheville, you will have all of your travel needs met. Wake up every morning to be greeted by the beauty of the garden
This is truly a one of a kind AirBnB experience in the area. Come stay with us and explore the beauty of our studio, market, cafe, and garden in the heart of Black Mountain! What really makes this place unique is the location and the business, the Roots and Fruits Market. Being above a market and the outside cafe overlooking a garden, It's a magic place to be! Lots of great things happen here such as the food and juice truck that's outside, Sunday brunch (April-October)with live music, watching the garden grow and be harvested, enjoy watching the chickens, interacting with people, or just walk around the garden (of course, seasonally that is). The market is open 7 days a week so you will see people around the market area if you choose to. A complimentary farmhouse breakfast and coffee(1 breakfast/juice/smoothie item and 1 coffee per guest and per stay,) are included with the stay. During the peak season (April through December) we serve breakfast and lunch, juices, and smoothies from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m Monday through Sunday, closed on Wednesday. Winter Hours for the cafe are Fri-Mon 10a.m.-3p.m(Nov-Apr). For those guests who stay during the week when the cafe is closed, we provide coffee, eggs, toast, and jam for guests to make themselves. Schedule may vary due to holidays and weather. We want people to feel relaxed and comfortable with everything you may need to start the day off right! . The studio is unique based on the colors of the rooms and cozy layout of the floor plan! This space includes a living room, kitchenette, bathroom, bath tub, and bedroom. We like to think this place is perfect for a couple, a solo traveler, and a group of friends who don't mind sharing space. The bedroom is a short walk away from the kitchenette and does not have a closable door for full privacy from guests who are interested in sharing the studio with two or more.
We are located right in the heart of downtown Black Moutain. Easy walk to great restaurants, bars, music, and gift shops.
  • I will always recommend this stay. Everything was perfect. Amazing shop, and great town. Thanks again!

    Ren2017-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication and awesome location. Was a great stay and had no issues getting in and out. Location was right in the middle of Black Mountain. We were there for one night but felt welcome.

  • What a unique find in Black Mountain! Kyle's Garden Cottage is in a great location...a simple walk to downtown shops and restaurants. We had never been to Black Mountain and found the cottage and the town shared the same vibe; welcoming, comfortable and natural. The cottage is right in the heart of the wonderful Roots and Fruits shop, the gardens and the Juice Box cart out back. There is a train that goes by every now and again and it adds to the downtown experience.

  • Roots and Fruits was very welcoming. Those who worked at the market helped us to get settled and recommended great local spots.

    Meredith2017-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Cozy, and relaxing are two ways to describe this place. The Juice Box (provides breakfast) has great breakfast. Kyle was very responsive with any of our needs. I will recommend for others to stay here. Hopefully we can return sometime!

    Nate2016-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Kyle's place. This was our first Airbnb experience and for sure was a good one. The location is awesome! We intended on going into Asheville but Black Mountain was so cute and it is convenient to many attractions. Very convenient in adding a night to our existing reservation. Pet friendly was a plus our dogs also enjoyed staying here!

  • Spent Valentines Day in Black Mountain and this was the perfect space for us to unwind after a long day of hiking. It was private and cozy, within walking distance of our evening activities, and coffee provided. They even provided ear plugs for the passing trains!

Welcome to our (320sf/29m) tiny home! We are 25 minutes to Asheville and 7 minutes to the quaint river town of Marshall. You’ll love our place because of the homemade character of the cabin and the natural farm setting. The mountain views and quiet solitude are perfect for couples or a single traveler. Doggies welcome too! Folks love our place as a way to un-plug in style and for it's location to major sights. Come stay in minimalist simplicity and enjoy the sunrise and starry night sky.
Rustic elegance. Our cozy cabin is two-stories tall, on top of a hill overlooking our hill and holler covered in young fruit shrubs and nut trees. On the first floor is the kitchen, small dining area and porch. Upstairs is a full-size bed and reading nook with mtn views. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, an electric burner, spices, oil, and a water heater (for coffee or tea), small fridge, and drinking water. The water system is rustic, but it works well. Fill up your own water from the spigot nearby The cabin has an outhouse a short walk away, but no shower or bath. In cold weather, there is a space heater AND a stylish wood stove for heat. There's a garden fence that doubles as a pet enclosure (Yes, your doggies are welcome!) a fire ring for enjoying the nighttime out-of-doors and 3 miles of interesting walks and steep trails around the neighborhood that we have developed. In 2018 we are planning to build an outhouse close to the cabin plus a seasonal bathhouse. People have booked our cabin for romantic getaways, for personal writing, music and spiritual retreats but mainly for it's awesome proximity to hiking and culture. Many book with us to get a feel for staying in a tiny home and for our hill's appeal for gardening enthusiasts.
The neighborhood is rich with interesting people and projects, including an artisan cheese dairy and the 'Prama Institute and Wellness Center'. Geoff is an agro-forester who has helped develop most of the trails and planted fruit and nut trees around the neighborhood. You may notice that we are building a second larger guesthouse with attached greenhouse that will be ready in Autumn of 2018. This is a great weekend getaway for people wanting to get away from the city, enjoy a taste of Asheville, read and write, or become engaged to their partner (twice happened!) Dogs are welcome and we are an affordable option to host small 50+\- person wedding ceremonies and receptions.
  • We had an excellent stay in Geoffrey & Sofi's tiny house. It is beautifully crafted, and absolutely feels like home. The location is a reasonable distance from town; rural, but not totally secluded. We enjoyed quiet, peaceful scenery. The neighbors we encountered on our hike were very friendly too. We brought our infant son on this stay and did just fine, but this may not be everyone's idea of "easy" for small children. Definitely, we would stay again. And we talked on the way home about how we would like to visit in other seasons too! Geoffrey & Sofi are kind, generous hosts and we recommend staying with them to everyone!

    Brett2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Perfect for couples. The hosts, Geoffrey and Sofi, were great. Very kind people. The tiny house is well kept and super spacious to be 320sqf I will definitely be visiting again.

    Johnny2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, close to wonderful hiking and the charming town of Marshall. Geoff and Sofi are the most accommodating and welcoming host. Even the neighbors were extremely friendly and welcoming. We loved the charm and views from cabin. Just beautiful.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed in this quaint, perfect little cabin for 2 nights and absolutely were not ready to leave by the end! Our favorite part was definitely waking up to a beautiful countryside / mountain sunrise outside of the bedroom window. This small cabin was so cozy and comfortable. Our hosts were very, very kind, helpful, and welcoming. We will definitely be back! HIGHLY recommend this adorable cabin on the hilltop :)

  • My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful stay in this cute and secluded little cabin. The views were amazing, and every morning we woke up to the fresh mountain air and sunshine out of our window. Such a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives.

    Haley2018-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place, it was incredibly peaceful and beautiful. We got there after dark and it was a little hard to find but Geoffrey was a huge help in getting us settled in. I would recommend this place to anyone!

    Gabi2017-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is exactly what you need if you are looking to unplug for a while! We left feeling invigorated and rested.

  • This cozy little cabin checks all of the boxes! The wood stove was fantastic. Loved the physical map on the wall heading up to the loft. Showed up in the dark and woke up to a great view. Also, a nice little selection of books. Be sure to check out Handmade Houses! Great stay and will be back!

Close to downtown Asheville (less than 2 miles), Grove Park Inn, Botanical Gardens, and UNCA, you can walk to a meal, movie, & brewery. A quaint retreat--a serene space with high ceilings, natural wood & large windows. It's a small building next to our house in a private, peaceful, and simple setting. Includes a private full bath, wi-fi, meditation space, a desk, a mini-fridge, & coffee maker all in a comfy quiet neighborhood. It's great for couples, solo adventurers, & business travelers.
It's own private building with it's own private full bath. A lockbox and key, allows you to come and go as you wish. It's a quiet and pretty space with lots of windows and wood throughout.
We live in an historic neighborhood, called Norwood Park right on the edge of Grove Park. We are surrounded by tree-lined streets and historic homes. Situated just north of downtown, between Merrimon and Kimberly Avenues. Less than 2 miles from downtown Asheville and less than 1 mile from The Omni Grove Park Inn. Great location, close to everything, while being relaxing and quiet.
  • Nice cabin a $10 Uber ride to the action in town. It was everything Tami posted it would be.

    Scott2018-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as described. Much enjoyed by my son and grandson.

    Sandra 2016-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! The cabin was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and peaceful.

    Jana2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • The best place to stay in Asheville! We were in town for the Asheville Yoga Festival and needed a place where we could easily access downtown without the downtown price tag. This is the place! Even though it was only 4 minutes (really) from downtown, I felt like I was on a true mountain retreat. It was quiet, the cabin is surrounded by trees, and there was plenty of fresh mountain air. Tami is so thoughtful and had yummy coffee, breakfast bars, and all the toiletries you would need for a weekend away. (Plus all of the shampoo/soaps/etc were organic and all-natural, which is totally my jam.) I appreciated that there was a mini-fridge so we had a place to store snacks and leftovers. This will always be our first pick for a place to stay in Asheville!

    Ensley2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • First off, let me start by saying pictures do not do this cabin justice. It is absolutely gorgeous, secluded and quiet. We loved the options of having the meditation cushion, as well as the books to read. The Zen Cabin was very clean, the host had everything we could have possibly needed with a comfortable bed under large windows to boot. We especially loved our welcome wagon; Goldie and the sweetest orange tabby who loved nothing more than to be rubbed. This location was in a perfect location to downtown. Getting anywhere was essentially less than a 15 minute drive, you could even walk if you needed. Our host gave us the perfect amount of privacy that we were seeking on our quiet weekend get away. We will definitely return and will be telling our friends back home about this perfect little place of Zen.

    Amber2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Tami and her husband are fantastic hosts! The place was perfect, with so many thoughtful touches throughout (coffee, snacks, meditation area, books, etc). It was close to everything we needed to do, and we loved getting to play with a sweet dog when we wanted. They were there if we needed them, but let us be as well. We loved the Zen Cabin and hope to return soon!

    Ashley2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a centrally located, quiet residential place with added touches of meditation/ meditation materials, then I recommend Zen Cabin.

Studio apartment in the heart of West Asheville. Private entrance and private space. Walking distance to Sunny Point Cafe, West Asheville Yoga Studio, The Isis, West End Bakery, Westville Pub, The Admiral, the new Biscuit Head, the tailgate farmers' market (on Tuesdays), grocery stores, and much more. 15 minute bike ride and a 5 minute drive to downtown. Even closer to the River Arts district! Full kitchen, bathroom, queen bed with high quality linens, comfortable living area, including a couch and chair, and a private patio. New construction, unique, funky, retro, clean and convenient. I can offer a sleeping pad or air mattress for a 3rd guest. Expect a relaxing environment, comfortable accommodations, mini-split heating/cooling, dehumidifier, knowledgable, friendly, and helpful hosts, a big back yard, and a safe, lovely, and interesting neighborhood. We love Asheville, and we're happy to tell you why and help you find your way around. Or leave you alone. Whatever you prefer. Y ¡hablamos Español! (So does our dog, Fina.) The public bus runs right by our house, so it's easy to hop on if you don't have a car or a bike. Note: The apartment is below our living area, so you may hear footsteps and/or other signs of life above you, despite high-quality soundproofing insulation between the floors. We make every effort to walk softly and protect your peace and quiet.
Walkability is the best feature of my neighborhood. So many fun restaurants, shops, and night spots are within a 10 minute walk of the studio, as well as quiet neighborhood strolls if you prefer. Biscuihead for breakfast and The Admiral for dinner are my two recommendations. If you love to walk, this is your spot! And downtown is just a 5 minute drive. Walkable evening venues include The Isis, The Mothlight, and Westville Pub. Other favorites are Nine Mile, The Universal Joint, Sunny Point, Biscuit Head, Oyster House, and Dobra Tea.
  • We had a wonderful stay at Kari's Asheville studio. It was tastefully decorated, clean, comfortable, functional, and everything that we wanted. We were very happy to have found it. Kari was also great. She was prompt in her responses via email and made us feel welcomed once we arrived. Thank you!

    Melina2014-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Everything at Kari's Sweet Studio was exactly as described and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. Communication was fast and concise, making for an easy arrival and wonderful experience. The West Asheville location was really welcomed as we enjoyed breakfast at Sunny Point Cafe immensely. It was also very convenient to other West Asheville attractions and just a skip to downtown.

    Brad2015-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Kari’s location was a great private getaway for our New Years festivities. All amenities included were accurately described and clean, not to mention great communication as well. Definitely an enjoyable stay - wonderful place, highly recommended host!

  • Kari's place was the perfect spot for us while in Asheville, clean, just as featured in the description.

    Will2016-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Just as pictured! We felt safe and comfortable the whole stay. There are several bars and restaurants that you can walk to. Quick 10 (maybe less) minute drive to downtown. Easy and quick drive to Biltmore as well. Recommend Nine Mile or Zia for places to eat locally!

    Kaylee2017-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Kari’s place was really great! It is the perfect space and size for 2 people and has its private entrance! It is in a residential area that is so quiet! It is about a 5-10 min drive to downtown Asheville and then 10 mins to the Biltmore Estate! We would definitely recommend this space if traveling to Asheville!

    Justin2017-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Kari was a wonderful host. The home is just as it's pictured. It's cute, quaint, and not far from downtown - just a 5 minute cab ride! Perfect for a weekend away to enjoy the beautiful city!

  • My wife and I had a great experience at the cabin. Upon entrance, the cabin felt cozy and comfortable. Lori was an amazing host. She made sure that we were comfortable and supplied us with great information about Asheville. We were so impressed with the cabin that we plan on visiting the cabin with our children. Till we meet again.

    Ramon2015-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was great, very cozy and neat with trees all around. The location was wonderfully convenient. Lori was a great host! We had a fantastic trip!

    Ashley2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely the best airBnB experience I've had yet! Lori met us at the cabin and she was very welcoming, checking in with her was a pleasure and she has literally thought of everything! She had great advice and suggestions about what to see and do around Asheville and had even more reading material on the local area activities for us to look through at our leisure. The Cabin itself is in a fantastic location that is both quiet and yet close enough to DT Asheville to be very convenient. The interior of the cabin is beautifully decorated and very cosy, clean and comfortable, and the bed is amazing (best nights sleep in an airBNB so far!). Overall I would absolutely recommend Lori's place and I would gladly stay with her again (in this or any other property she may have In the future). I'll also add the local beer selection and very tasty rum cake (can we please have the recipe?) Lori left in the fridge for us was very well received after a long drive!

    Mark2015-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed at the cabin for our first wedding anniversary and it was the perfect place for a romantic getaway! Lori was a wonderful host and had a fresh baked rum cake and selection of local craft brews waiting on us. The cabin is clean, comfortable, and convenient to any vacation necessities. We will definitely be recommending this special spot to anyone heading to Asheville!

    Matthew2015-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this cozy, charming little place! It's as great as it seems in the pics and description, if not better. Lori and Lizzie welcomed us so warmly. And the location couldn't be better. We visited the Biltmore and several breweries, and found ourselves just a short drive away from everything. Would definitely stay here again.

    Hannah2017-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed at the cozy cabin for only two nights but I regret not spending our whole week there!! Lori was fantastic with all inquiries responding very quickly. The cottage was in a very convenient location off a main road(very close to the blue ridge parkway) yet felt very tucked away in the woods. It was extremely clean and beautifully decorated very cozy indeed. The bed was super comfy and the cabin had everything you would need including laundry. She left us a super tasty rum cake and a book of local restaurants and things to do and see. If we find ourselves are in the Asheville area again in the future this is absolutely where we would want to stay again!

    mary2016-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful visit at Lori's cabin! We loved the location in relation to everything we did and was so quaint and perfect for what we needed! We will be staying here again next time we come to Asheville!

    Olivia2016-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • My mom and I stayed in Lori and Lizzie's cabin for a weekend, and it was wonderful. The place was clean, comfortable, and in a very convenient location - just a short drive downtown and to the Biltmore, and just 2 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our arrival and communication leading up to it was very easy, and they were kind enough to bake a rum cake(!) and left us a couple local beers to help us celebrate my mom's birthday. It was a special weekend, and I hope to return!

"Pictures don't do this place justice"... previous guest response. “This is THE place to stay in Asheville! We will definitely be back soon" ...previous guest review First class accommodations on the mountain overlooking Asheville. Beautiful mountain views above with city lights below. This charming space is a short five minutes and $5 Uber ride from downtown Asheville yet feels worlds away. Exposed rock wall opposite original outside wall gives this apartment a unique and comfortable feel.
“Dorothy's place is an absolute gem! It's up in the hills in a quiet neighborhood, but only a quick 5-7 minute drive from downtown and a 2 minute drive from a grocery store. The unit is spacious was incredibly comfortable for us (two plus our pup). The care and effort put into the space is super impressive. There is a queen sized bed, full size fridge and sink, a coffee maker with coffee/cream/sugar, tea, a microwave, and toaster oven. There's also a cute little sitting room with a tv and sofa. Further, the bathroom is a comfortable size with plenty of space for two. Dorothy has a board of recommendations for travelers, along with a map with pins to keep track of where her guests are from. Such sweet details! We were so sad to leave her lovely space. Hope to stay again in the future!” ...previous guest review Lots of space on this double lot on our small mountain leaves you feeling away from it all even though you're merely minutes from downtown. We are super convenient to grocery stores and tons of restaurants. Very open layout with beautiful archways and a unique rock wall add both charm and class. Super clean and equipped with a shared laundry room and great big bathroom. The kitchenette has everything you could need to feel at home when you're away from home. It is equipped with a full size refrigerator, single burner hot plate, a large toaster oven, microwave and a coffee maker. Netflix and Hulu streaming available via Roku on flat screen TV in living room . What else could you need?! :) This is a very spacious 500 square foot tastefully decorated and well equipped lower level space. Plenty of privacy with a separate entrance and a screen door allows guests to enjoy the fresh air and natural light. Outside space with Adirondack seating for guests to lounge the day away. Suitable for two adults with a couch available for a third; children are welcome as well although the space is not child proof and I don't have separate sleeping arrangements other than the couch :) This space is one of two rentals on the lower level of my home. Each rental has a private entrance on either side of the house and my entrance is at the front of the house so privacy coming and going is not an issue. If this space does not fulfill your needs please check out my other Airbnb listing :) https://abnb.me/EVmg/4pISBm8rsK The apartments share a laundry room space making a perfect opportunity to book both for larger families or couples traveling together. Also, I will send instructions when it gets close to your reservation.
  • My husband and I have visited Asheville several times but wanted to bring our 4 legged son, a boxer, along with us this time. Dorothy's place was beyond perfect! The apartment was so clean and comfortable! Dorothy made us feel right at home, from the chocolates to the dog bones she had left for us. The neighborhood was quiet and made us feel like we were in the mountains but was close to downtown. Which was perfect for our trip plans, hiking durning the day and downtown in the evening. I couldn't recommend Dorothy's place more and hope it's available for every trip we make to Asheville.

    Lori2016-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Dorothy's place was exactly what I was looking for! Very spacious and private basement apartment with parking and outdoor space minutes from downtown. Thanks again Dorothy!

    Taylor2015-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Dorothy made us feel very welcome! She made arrival and departure simple and easy. The apartment was very clean and decorated wonderfully! The house being so close to downtown was also super convenient. We loved our stay at this apartment and would certainly hope to stay here again when coming to visit Asheville.

    Grace2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Dorothy was awesome! She left a book out for suggestions and left coffee/cream/sugar and fresh towels out for us. This is a great location- we uber' everywhere back and forth from the house to town several times and it was so cheap and easy! Great view from the backyard. Our dog loved that. Also has the full setup for Netflix/Hulu and others directly to the tv, we watched a few movies to wind down at night. So peaceful. She was very attentive to any heat/air concerns I had or questions I had and even helped us get to the house after we got a little lost trying to get there the first night! Super sweet lady. Great host. Highly recommend.

    Rebecca2016-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Dorothy was an incredibly lovely hostess. She was very quick to respond to all communications, gave us a warm and friendly welcome, and had so many sweet touches in her place. I was surprised by how convenient it was to get from her place to downtown Asheville and we enjoyed quick uber rides in and out of town. I highly recommend Dorothy's place - it's a great value and location!

    Eileen2017-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Dorothy's place for a couple of nights. The apartment was as described - very clean and new. The bed was comfy, and the place was really quiet. Beautiful setting in the mountains. It shares a wall with Dorothy's living space, but is private, and I hardly ever noticed any sound from the other side. It's also very convenient to downtown. Take a look at a map before you go, our GPS got a little confused in the mountain, but it's not that difficult to find. Dorothy was also very good about responding quickly to messages. Would highly recommend.

    Ken2015-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute and clean apartment in a private wooded location. The bed was comfortable; the kitchen had all the amenities. Perfect for my boyfriend and me. Dorothy checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Walked into town once, but Uber was cheap and easy. Great little apartment in the woods!

    Linda2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Dorothy is a treasure! She left little notes around the apartment for us and was SO HELPFUL with special instructions to find her place. It was comfy and cozy with an amazing view out the back from the Adirondack chairs. A screen door let in the morning air and a huge chalkboard gave us tips on where to go for breakfast, dinner and beer. Thank you Dorothy! :)

  • Unique and different way to glamp!! My kids were so excited to stay in this tipi. It was clean and comfortable! Also, the host worked with us on a specific request and was wonderful. My favorite part was the outside bath and shower!!

    Beth2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! We will definitely be back and we are telling all of our friends to come! It was chilly while we were there but the radiators kept us toasty. The fridge was big enough for the essentials, and although we were five women and a baby, we never felt cramped! Wonderful time!

    Jessica2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a rustic and creative space! Not everyone can say they’ve stayed in a Tipi. The space is adequately furnished with several sleeping options and stays cozy with all the space heaters. There isn’t access to the bathroom from the Tipi, so be prepared to walk outside (it was cold and rainy when we stayed). WiFi was strong so not completely disconnected with the outside world. We were able to get to Asheville in 20 minutes for meals and shipping, and also Weaverville in 15 minutes for meals and shopping. Great location!

    Ashley2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very unique and beautiful! The host was very responsive and helpful. So much detail and thought put into everything there. There is heat, a/c and mini kitchen. Very spacious. We loved the bathroom! Two things I think should be mentioned are the fact that there is some mold and mildew inside the tipi itself. And the walk from the parking up to the tipi is a bit difficult. Adding more steps or a handrail would make it more safe and easy. Otherwise it's a great place to stay.

    Theresa2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I wanted a one-of-a-kind place to stay this Summer and our stay here exceeded all of our desires and expectations. The host, Jennifer, could not have been more hospitable. The location allows for a serene getaway while still not far from popular local destinations. The surrounding countryside is remarkably beatutiful. Some of our first impressions once we arrived were "Wow!" and "We're going to want to come here again.". I highly recommend this location to any potential future guests.

  • This was an amazing place to stay! The pictures don't do it justice. We were cold our first night so you might want to make sure you bring warm clothes if you come during fall/winter. The beds were comfortable and it was just a very cool place to stay. Definitely check out downtown Marshall, we had breakfast and coffee in town. The town is adorable and is beside the beautiful French Broad River. We hiked at Craggy Gardens and Max Patch and the teepee was about an hour away from those. We were about 30 minutes from Asheville. All around great and private place to stay and get some fresh mountain air!

  • Wonderful place to stay if you’re looking for a relaxing qnd quiet getaway! Would suggest wearing shoes appropriate for hiking because the walk up to the TiPi is just a little steep but nothing crazy, absolutely worth it once you get to the top. I was extremely impressed with the bathroom and the deck. Stayed on a night that got pretty chilly and the TiPi stayed very warm and cozy with the heater provided. Would recommend to anyone going to Asheville! Downtown Marshall was very close and so charming!

Great apartment above the garage. Very private, with large windows looking out into the woods. Small bathroom and kitchen, but a perfect, quiet, secluded space for couples or solo travelers. 10 minutes from downtown Asheville and the Parkway, 20 minutes to Black Mountain and a stone's throw from Warren Wilson College. No Wifi, please be prepared to unplug!
This is an awesome apartment above my garage. It has hardwood floors, big windows, and a small kitchenette and bathroom. There is one queen bed and a futon mattress that can be rolled out for additional guests.
You will be next door to my house (as you're on the top floor of the garage) and you will also be able to see the neighbor's house. Otherwise it's woods all around.
  • Our favorite place to stay in Asheville! Ellie is a great host with great communication! Great stay as always!

    Zoe2017-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ellie's place was amazing! It is nice and tucked away in the middle of scenery, but still so close to downtown and all the good spots! Ellie was very good at communicating with us and is very kind. The place had everything we needed and was the perfect size. We would definitely recommend staying here for a nice little getaway.

    Anna2017-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We could see the night stars from inside! I loved the big with windows. The hardwood floor, warm comforter and quietude reminded me of a small log cabin. Great hiking nearby, too. Wish I had brought a folding chair for reading on the back porch, but a soft blanket did the trick!

    Cynthia2017-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ellie's Treehouse was exactly what I needed. The photos were spot on and everything described in her listing was accurate. What the description doesn't show is how AMAZING it feels to wake up to bird song and gorgeous trees. I spent hours on the private deck enjoying the view. The bed was SO comfortable and it was the most wonderful retreat. Ellie was very responsive and also gave me my privacy. I highly recommend!

    Courtney2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • De treehouse is een erg leuke plek! Je zit er tussen de bomen en het is er zeer rustig. Perfecte uitvalsbasis voor wanneer je Blue Ridge Parkway gaat verkennen.

    Sara2017-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute above garage apartment on a scenic drive. Large windows to give you a good view of the scenery. The perfect distance to downtown but still the secluded mountain feel!

    Zoe2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing spot to stay in Asheville. 15 minutes from downtown and a beautiful weekend getaway spot.

    Elliott2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lightning bugs from the porch, woke up to sun through the tall trees. Secluded enough and good vibes. Easy drive from Asheville.

A lovely 1 bed/1 full bath in W Asheville east walkable to many restaurants, cider house, and brewery. This is a chemical free apt where i don't use harsh chemicals in cleaning or in laundry. Serene location, yet close to it all. There are some essential oils used in products.
A beautifully done private one bedroom with QUEEN bed, one full bath with stained concrete flooring, 9 foot high ceilings, non-VOC paint, PVC free shower curtain, all natural Jute throw rugs (no chemical carpets!). The one bedroom can be closed for privacy from the living room/kitchen. NOTE: While I do not use chemicals in cleaning etc, if you have MCS, please contact me prior to instant booking. I cannot guarantee that you will be ok here. I've had a one MCS person stay here frequently just fine and one other who could not stay. There is also a cat that lives upstairs with me and we do share the air via AC/heat vents. There are also two very sweet semi-feral kitties that live in the garage. Please do not book if you have an extreme allergy to cats as I cannot guarantee if you'll react or not. Fully equipped kitchen (with an added microwave now) with stainless steel ware (no telfon!), pots/pans/drinking glasses/mugs organic cream, olive oil/balsamic/sea salt/pepper and a few things in fridge welcome to all. NOTE: fridge in pic has been changed to a smaller dorm sized one (with some freezer space). It has a stove, dishwasher and small mini fridge with a good sized freezer. The couch and chair are a white cotton chenille from Pottery Barn (so not synthetic). There is also an Austin Air filter (one of the best kinds) in the space and gives the added benefit of white noise if you need. (but it is very quiet here as it is). You have access to laundry (washer and dryer) in the garage which is just off your apt. There is a brand new 32" flat screen smart TV with Netflix to stream from and other kind of channels on smart TV (not cable or antennae). (note: the TV in the picture was damaged and replaced with a new 32"). In addition to the sheets and pillow cases, I also wash the duvet cover after each guests (this is so important to me when traveling) and you get (of course) many fresh towels under the sink. Most everything you need is here - including papertowels, tooth floss, cotton balls, Q tips, pens, paper etc. Extra blankets in the foot stool. I am chemically sensitive and have a hard time when I travel due to fragrance and toxic chemicals used in cleaning products and am happy to offer this to those like me (or anyone for that matter!). It is a strict rule that you also are CHEMICAL FREE while staying here. Synthetic chemicals linger for weeks and settle into furniture and this is geared for those who wish for a healthy chemical free environment. I only use green, effective, and non-toxic products in laundry, cleaning, bath and kitchen. Essential oils are ok and some of the products I offer have essential oils in them - for totally scent free products, please just request as I have these too. You will also be provided with a selection of shampoos/conditioners and other bodycare items to use - all natural (no harsh chemicals). I also provide 1 gallon of filtered water for your stay to get you started before you can get to the store if you only drink filtered water, granola bars, and organic coffee and tea and a bottle of red. The apt is in the lower half of my house and is a private and complete living space - the stairs that connect are not used - doors stayed locked and shut. I live upstairs and practically tip toe when I walk - so you don't get much if any overhead noise. This is a quiet place with no road noise...only the sounds of birds ! While it's officially a basement apt, it doesn't feel that way as the ceiling are high and you have windows with great sun. The apt is not "underground".
I love this neighborhood due to its country feel, but within walking distance to many things.
  • We had the most wonderful first air bandb experience here and will never stay in a hotel again! The apt was perfect, better than I ever could imagine, and so convenient to everything! It had everything we could possibly need and more. Susan was an awesome host! I would highly recommended this apt for a visit to Asheville!!!

    Melissa2016-01-10T00:00:00Z

    Hansjuergen2015-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's space was amazing. It was quiet and beautiful. More beautiful than in the pictures even. In the morning there were so many birds! It was nice to just stand around drinking delicious coffee provided by Susan and bird watch. Susan was extremely helpful and attentive. She was accomating to our late arrival and was sure to keep in touch with us about the weather (snow and ice, yikes!). The bed was super comfortable and we even had the chance to watch a movie or two on netflix during our stay. The location was perfect for us. West Asheville is an awesome little fun area with great restaurants and shops. Most of the places were within a 10-15 walk. But since weather was a little bad, we mostly drove. Soooo about a two minutes drive :) We ate and drank at WALK when we arrived late (they serve food til 1!), then we were able to secure reservations at The Admiral which was phenomenal-- try to get in there!! its the best. We also had great breakfast at Biscuit head (Amazing!! with a Jam bar!) and we great lunch at King Daddy's (chicken and southen style food). It was all so delicious, we're already determined to go back to Asheville in a few months, for a longer period of time. You're also super close to downtown and the river arts disctrict. It was a great comfortable location for everything we needed to do. AND SOOOO CLEAN!!! I was amazed at how clean the space was. It was so lovely. It really felt like a nice hotel stay with great linen and great green non-toxic supplies (shower gels, hand soap, shampoo and condition, lotion, facial masks! etc) It was just a great stay and I would recommend it to everyone and anyone

  • This was a great place to stay! Sunny open apartment with a nice little patio. Elizabeth was a great host and paid thoughtful attention to every detail. The location is close to many things in West AVL and the place was an outstanding value. Looking forward to another stay there.

    Jason2018-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth was easy to communicate with and her place was so clean and comfy. The location is a bit odd, but we quickly figured out it was walkable to many cool restaurants and breweries. It was also easy to drive and park or get an Uber. The bed was very comfy and it was very quiet. I had told Elizabeth we were traveling to asheville as part of our honeymoon road trip and she was nice enough to leave us a bottle of wine to enjoy. Thanks Elizabeth! We enjoyed our stay!

    Alexandra2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth's place was the perfect spot for our Asheville trip. It's close to West Asheville (walkable to lots of great restaurants and bars), as well as the River Arts District. It's just a short uber ride into downtown. All of the amenities you would need are available. Thanks for a great stay!

    Katie2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great little getaway spot but also very close to restaurants and downtown. Loved staying here and would definitely stay again.

    Merry Ellen2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth’s place was just as expected - extremely clean with everything you need. She provided plenty of local suggestions, maps, and information. It was comfy, cute, and functional. Just note that the house was in a pretty secluded place and though parking is right next to the house, it’s on a steep hill that requires skill/comfort with reversing down a hill. Bottle of wine was a nice touch... Also coffee, and tea and well-stocked kitchen. Elizabeth was very responsive and gave all the info you could need for getting there and while staying. There were some food spots in walking distance, but I drove. Great place for a solo stay or couple. I would definitely recommend and stay again!

Our beautiful and modern guesthouse, tucked away in the woods on top of the mountain, has LOTS to offer. With window views of the Blue Ridge Parkway, centrally located 15 mins from both downtown Asheville and Black Mountain, this is the perfect peaceful getaway. Charming. Romantic. Relaxing.
This charming, cozy, modern guesthouse sits on the mountain at an elevation of 2800 feet! It has so much to offer. Featuring a queen sized tempurpedic bed, which comfortably sleeps 2 people, (however an extra mattress can be arranged for a 3rd person if needed) With its large windows looking out over the mountains you can watch the birds and squirrels or maybe even see a fox or a bear! Nature awaits you! You have access to a private deck with the most magical morning views, a wonderful place to sit and enjoy your coffee before exploring Asheville's breweries, the Biltmore Estate, some GREAT hikes or many other fun things Asheville has to offer. And if you feel like staying in and watching a movie there's an XBOX 360, Netflix, HBO NOW, HULU and a large DVD collection to choose from when we are home. You will find a selection of coffee and tea for your enjoyment. You will also find a binder in the apartment with several of our recommendations around town as well as directions to the nearest hike from our home!(3 miles) And there's a yoga mat available for you to use if you need it! It is the perfect romantic getaway, or retreat to write, read, or contemplate life. If you are passing through riding the blue ridge parkway we are just a hop, skip and a jump away. We are close enough to town, yet magically set in the mountains. Relax in nature or visit a local brewery downtown. Either way enjoy all the wonderful aspects of Asheville. We are closely located to many wonderful Ashville attractions: 2-5 miles from entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Warren Wilson Collage, WNC Nature Center 3 miles to a great hiking spot in the Pisgah National Forest. Directions to this spot will be in the binder in the apartment when you check in. 6-10 miles to Downtown Asheville, the River Arts District, Biltmore Estate, Highland Brewery, Pisgah Brewing, Wicked Weed, Wholefoods, Trader Joes Under an hour to Mt. Mitchell, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure And SO much more!! Disclaimer: As we no longer have a security deposit...If you happen to break or damage anything there will be a replacement fee of $25-100+ If you log out of any tv apps without our prior consent such as Netflix, HBO, Hulu there will be a $25 inconvenience fee. If you have unannounced guests or break house rules (such as smoking, cooking meat, having parties, etc) there could be a fine of $50+ per rule.
On top of a mountain looking out over the trees where you can even see the Blue Ridge Parkway from your window. Beautiful, romantic, quiet and peaceful. The views, woods, nature and wildlife surround you. Being that we are on top of a mountain there are some steep hills and windy roads to climb as you make your way to the top. Which does make it all worth it for the views! Just fyi, we used to drive a Prius and made it up just fine. If booking in the winter months please understand that a few times a year the steepest hill before our home can get icy enough that we have to leave our cars at the bottom and walk. It's not often but it does happen. And January of 2016 we actually got snowed in for two days which was awesome but not everyone may think that is awesome. :) Getting snowed in here is actually rare. The community said that was the first time in over four or five years that it had happened.
  • Beautiful, restful place with great recommendations. We loved everything!

  • We loved our stay at Skylar and Ayden's place in Asheville. The space was extremely clean, neat, stylish and comfortable. They offered a number of recommendations of things to do, eat, and see in the city. The views from the room were worth the whole trip! Would definitely stay again during our next trip to Asheville.

  • Skylars place was very cute and cozy. Communication and attention to details were great! Photos online are a very accurate representation of the apt - it is located in a beautiful and safe area with a view. Lizzy's place is so cute a comfortable! Her home is in a great neighborhood and only a 10 minute walk to downtown Asheville. Her arrival instructions were very specific so we had no trouble getting in. Everything was clean and organized. She provided filtered water, milk, coffee, oatmeal, granola, etc. The shower was stocked with great smelling/organic shampoo, conditioner and body wash. She provided a couple of day passes (unfortunately we didn't have the time to use them) along with maps to guide you around the city. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone who wants a fun, local Asheville experience!

We stayed at Michele's place for 2 nights, and really enjoyed it. Michele was very accommodating when we arrived early to drop off our stuff before heading into town, and we enjoyed talking with her about Asheville and getting her advice on where to go. The apartment was clean and bright and comfortable, and the window air conditioning unit kept it cool on some very hot summer days. The house is in the historic Montford neighborhood, and close to downtown Asheville, UNCA, the Grove Park Inn, and lots of other things to do, and this apartment is on the lower level at the back of the house, with a view into a wooded area.

The yurt was awesome and Anna was a great host! When we arrived there was already a fire made to keep us warm and a bottle or wine and chocolate on the table. Would definitely recommend to anybody because the yurt is so charming and Asheville (about 20 mins away) is such a fun city!
