Go for adventure in a simple & secluded eco-house on a deserted beach. Local meals served in your house, cleaning & laundry included. Free ponies riding, kayak, surfboards, bodyboards, SUP, snorkel & fins. Perfect for relaxation, water sports, mountain, jungle & mangrove trecks. Discover local life : accompany locals to rice fields, fishing, market, school... Our project is financing community programs. Visit our 2nd house : https://www.airbnb.fr/rooms/5237806
Go for adventure in southern Palawan. This part of the island, off the beaten path, has retained its authentisme, traditional lifestyle and exuberant nature. On the threshold of the country's largest protected natural park, Palawan Ecolodge in sitio Malakibay (Rizal Town) is an ecological and social project whose goal is a very small scale tourism in harmony with local life. To enjoy this place, very isolated and difficult to reach, with limited solar power (without air conditioning or hot showers) and meals according to market arrivals it's better to be a bit adventurer, nature and authenticity lover. The Amihan house has a large bedroom with a double bed (1,8x2 m) and a mezzanine where with two double beds. Large terrace. Bathroom. 220V solar electricity, particularly limited during cloudy weather. Cold ice box. Beach beds and hammocks. Bath & beach towels, bed sheets, cleaning and laundry service are included (free laundry for your clothes every 5 days). Amihan and Habagat houses are beachfront and separated by 90m of vegetation. In the middle you have the kid’s play house. We are close enough to the sea to have permanent light winds, cool nights and less insects. We highly recommend to sleep with open shutters to benefit the night freshness, our natural "aircon". Note that our solar panels provide enough power for lightning and charging few cameras, cellphones, laptop... but not for air conditionned, fans or hot water. Our shower are local "tabo style" with a big drum and a small "tabo" (recipient) to shower you. Visit Amihan house with other pictures of our surroudings here : https://www.airbnb.fr/rooms/5237806 All inclusive means three meals. A drink (beer or soda) per person per meal is included, additional drinks can be purchased for 30 pesos. Coconut juice when available (if it's very windy, we don't climb the trees). Breakfast consist of (on order) : coffee, tea, hot chocolate, pancakes (plain or with fruits), toast, fresh fruit salad, eggs. Meals depends on the «catches of the day» and daily fresh market products. During bad weather we may not find seafood during several days. Local dishes are : vegetable salad with fresh palm vinegar and olive oil, fish or seafood (crab, shrimp, squid), meat : bbq, curry, stewed with palm vinegar and soy sauce (adobo), local noodles with vegetables and meat (pancit), meat or vegetable fried rolls (lumpia), fruits (mango, pineapple, banana, jackfruit ...), rice and coconut milk cakes (ibus or bibingka), casava cakes... We can adapt ourself to special diets : vegan, gluten free... The water comes from our wells, filtered by a traditional charcoal system. We manually pump it into a tank without the use of a generator. Tap water is drinkable but we also provide you with purified water jerrycans. The phone signal is good. You can get pre-paid internet with a local sim card available in Puerto Princesa (choose Smart operator for our place). The internet connexion however is quite weak, just enough for apps like messenger, airbnb, not for internet browsing.
Ideal for lounging as for immersion in local life, Palawan Ecolodge is also a perfect place for water sports and mountain treks. Water sports At high tide or low tide, swimming is perfect as there is only sand without stones or reefs in front of the houses and enough depth which is not always the case in Palawan. At both ends of the bay and especially on the north side, there is immense coral reefs with a wide variety of species that you can easily reach by kayak. At the north end of the beach you can go up a river for 300 meters before reaching a beautiful mangrove. You can explore the maze and land near the house of our friend Santi who is friends with a bunch of monkeys. Depending on the season you may have nice waves: A shorebreak on sandy bottom or bigger waves on the reefs. For kitesurfing or windsurfing, both Amihan and Habagat prevailing winds fit well and are side shore. The first waves outside the reef are safe with 2 meters of depth. Trekking Palawan Ecolodge is at the entrance of Mount Mantalingahan Protected Landscape (the culminant point of Palawan), which won in 2013 the first national competition of protected areas. Although the specifications of the park plans to encourage ecotourism, it is still a very little visited area where new species of fauna and flora are still discovered. We can help you with authorizations and fees asked for those sites : Mt Mantalingahan, Tao't bato tribe, Mantayob falls, falls Turbong, Loran which range from few hours to several days expeditions. We are establishing partnership with the protected area administration to facilitate your visit and bring benefits to the local communities with a limited and respectful impact. And if you want to trek without a challenging expedition on the Mantalingahan there are also very nice walks around the house. You can for exemple reach the Rizal market with a 45mn walk along the sea, hiking small forested hills. Another very interesting trek is to walk to Tubo, a Palawan tribe village and then to continue to the Turbong falls through the jungle. From home, Tubo is a 2h walk, very easy at any age. It can also be a 30mn tricycle drive to Calupisan and then a 30mn walk. From tubo you can hire guides (500 pesos in total) to walk to the Turbong falls. It's a 2h very nice walk, quite steep with a thick vegetation. Ask the guide to cut for you walking sticks. We recommend light hiking shoes for the trek and plastic sandals to cross the rivers. Bring insect repellent, antisepctic and tweezers for thorns. No major difficulty, just watch what kind of tree you can grab (they are some thorny liana). However we would not recommend it for kids under 8 except is they are already used to this kind of trek.
  • Within hours of arriving at the Ecolodge, we all wanted to stay forever. It's really hard to figure out how to even put into words how completely perfect this place is. From the warm hugs of Mommy Sally to being taken on adventures in Vic's boat to watching the sunset while bobbing in the South China Sea to the most stars you will ever see in your entire life. Everything is so beautiful that we'd spend hours on the porch just resting our eyes on things and marvelling at how incredible they were. None of us ever expected to have days that included climbing into lobster traps, watching clown fish swirl around coral cliffs, and seeing galaxies with our naked eyes, but all of those things happened in Palawan. Basically, you can have any kind of time you'd like here. If you want to snooze in a hammock and read a book and pet a dog, you can. If you want to hike through a mangrove jungle to feed monkeys, you can. If you want to spend the whole day trying to teach yourself to surf, you can. All while delicious food arrives in your hut every few hours. It is perfect here, and anyone who has the chance to visit this place and meet Mommy Sally and her friends absolutely should. It's a great way to have an "all inclusive" vacation that means being part of a local community and supporting the local economy. It's a dream come true.

  • Had a lovely stay at Mommy Sally's. Everything was as described - a great place to get away from technology, eat simple but tasty food and enjoy the peaceful location. As mentioned by previous guests, the trip south from Puerto Princesa is very picturesque but also long and bumpy. Frequent dips in the ocean, which is right on your doorstep, make the heat bearable during the day, but sleeping well at night can be a bit more difficult. Apparently there are plans to install more solar gear which would allow fans to be used and I think make all the difference!

  • We had an wonderful four days at Mommy Sally's eco lodge. The traditional style house was very comfortable and had everything we needed, it was also closer to the beach than I expected. The food was excellent and we felt really well looked after by Mommy Sally and her team. Terence and Amy

  • Staying there fulfilled all expectations. Fantastic, clean empty beaches. Quiet, friendly and helpful people. The place is worth not only to see or visit, but also feel. Being there makes a feeling how life can be close to nature, how people can live with less also making less impact to nature. Don't go there if your life depends on internet, continuous posting and checking social networks. :)

  • Mommy Sally, Vanessa, and her wonderful team took such good care of us. We would particularly like to thank Vic and Neneng who made our trip so unique by letting us experience the 'real' Palawan with trips to see monkeys, walks in the mangroves and time spent together just chatting and learning more about how the other lives. If you are looking for a place to escape and relax this is the perfect place! A truly magical experience, and one we will never forget! We will be back! Jemma and Andy (london)

  • It was a great stay! The property is well-maintained and the staff is very attentive. Quiet surroundings with stunningly beautiful bay. The food was very good, lots of fruits, all kinds of sea food: fish, crabs, squids and shrimps. Mommy Sally’s place is truly amazing!

  • The communication leading up to, and during our stay was spectacular. The apartment space was wonderful and we spent hours and hours on the balcony enjoying the view. We had 11 people and it was a bit of a squish. We think apartment would fit 8 people perfectly. We took advantage of the hourly shuttle as much as we could and sometimes had the butler call a car for us if our schedule differed. The apartment is a bit secluded which is what we preferred and then went down in to the hustle and bustle but only when we could peel ourselves away form the balcony. We were very glad to be on the hill. It was a great stay.

  • From the moment I booked the apartment Jerry and his assistant Lucy where so helpful and informative. The apartment is even more beautiful then the photos. We only spent one night but our butler reggie was helpful and help to sort us out a bbq. Stunning place and apartment. Well worth a visit.

  • Apartment was very nice. Everything as described. View was incredible. Leo our butler went above and beyond. Was tremendous. We want to steal him and bring him home with us !!!Location I prefer better then white beach because it's peaceful. Incredible sunsets. Jerry and his assitant were very attentive and response rate was very fast which is great when your booking last minute and don't speak their language. They arranged a ride and everything for me and my wife. Thanks so much for making this holiday and special thanks to Leo for his amazing work.

    Bryan2016-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jerry's penthouse is located at a "backbeach" where the wind blows quite strong, that kiteboarders would love that side. There is a van that brings you to station2 every hour, but we also like to walk down to station1 which is just for fifteen minutes away. The place is spacious, tidy, with good wifi. We really liked our butler Aljun. He knew everything about the island! Big thanks to Lucy who arranged our transfer too. Cheers!

Brother Island, also known as Small Darocoton, is an island in the El Nido Province of Palawan, Philippines. It is sited roughly 400km south-west from Manila and can be reached via the El Nido Airport. El Nido, is in the province of Palawan and is handled as one of the most unspoilt areas of the Philippines. Islands, jungle and sea as you know it from movies and commercials. The province of El Nido is known as one of the last frontiers known to the seemingly unstoppable developments of commercial tourism everywhere else. On the neighboring islands, there are some small towns and villages. The nearest village is Ligad and can be reached by boat in 10 minutes. This is where the SAMA-SAMA charity pilot project started out by building the first highly sustainable watertank in the region, of which 8 more have been made in the last 2 years. Then there is Teneguiban, the next bigger village, around 25 minutes away from the island. There you can find an est 80ha Mangrove Forest which is also ideal for birdwatching. Big Daracoton Island and Cabuli Island are ideal sights for island hopping tours, both just 20 minutes away. Small Brother Island, aka Nalbot, can be seen from the spectacular view from our Hilltop Banyan House, where the largest anchor in the world is known to be sunken, merely 5-10 minutes away. Also there is a tiny 12 meter wide beach where you can go snorkeling and have a picknick during the day. If you are into hiking, there are also some interesting pathways from Ligad village to Djapila village or to Teneguiban. A hike to Djapila takes about 2-3 hours back and forth, and the hike to Teneguiban, around 4-5 hours. Vis a vis on the main island of Palawan and as well on surrounding islands we can find small villages such as Ligad, Teneguiban and San Fernando. These places can be reached within 5 to 30 minutes from the island, ideal for daytrips and picknicks. Daytrips last 6 hours and cost P700/person. Daytrips include a picknick meal.
  • Nice view and nice people.

  • Wow, just returned from Brother Island with our 4 kids and had the BEST time! It was everything we'd hoped for and more. Arnel, Esther and team looked after us beautifully with delicious food and nothing was too much trouble. We felt completely at home and long to return!

    Kate2017-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Two days of amazing home cooked meals, warm breezes, beachside massages (very highly recommended!), snorkeling and fishing with Arnel and great conversation with Alee's mother Cynthia, who was hosting during our stay. The island was small but definitely big enough to find some solitude. My fiance and I are total city dwellers but the manual toilet and cool showers were minor inconveniences. Words aren't enough; it was truly wonderful and we would happily come back again.

    Ren2016-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • We just spent 4 amazing days with Alfred and the team at Brother Island. We snorkelled, cliff jumped, sang songs around the bonfire and too many other things to mention. Everything added up to an amazing relaxing break to recharge the soul. No request was too hard and we really felt like part of the family. The food is amazing local cuisine and unfortunately we all left a few kg's heavier! Highest recommendation this place was the highlight of our trip and 100% on our list of places to return to. All the best to Alfred and the team can't wait to visit again.

    Justin2017-07-07T00:00:00Z

    Lucas2015-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Brothers Island is exactly as advertised a secluded paradise in El Nido. Alfred was a great host who has managed to create a unique island experience unlike any other we have experienced. The boat rides to the main attractions in El Nido are almost 2.5 hours of boat rides which guests should consider when planning Island hopping tours. Overall it was a great experience and a trip of a lifetime.

    Sameer2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time on Brother Island. Alee is the perfect host, the food was unbelievable and it is just altogether an amazing place. We were on our honeymoon so it was just the two of us, snorkeling around the island, kayaking, reading a book in one of the many hammocks, not a care in the world! Would definitely recommend!

Two bedroom cottage with big porch fronting ponds/rice field. Perfect for experiencing Palawan's laid back countryside living. It's 10min walk to Honda Bay's longest beach located along the coastal villages of Manalo, Lucbuan and Maruyogon. We are also less than an hour to underground river and the city, and accessible via public transport. Kindly read the entire description before requesting for a booking. We are located in a farm setting where common and indigenous farm animals thrive.
The house's location is on an elevated ground overlooking a rice field situated on the edge of a private mini forest. It is made of concrete foundation and the walls are a mixture of wood and concrete while the inner walls are a mixture of concrete and native bamboo materials. The bathroom has tiled floor and walls. The bedrooms and kitchen floors are tiled, while the dining area and porch have wooden floors. The bedrooms have screened windows and clear glass louvers that can be opened and closed to regulate room temperature. Although we do not offer AC, the place is breezy and surrounded by greenery. In front of the house are four ponds with local fishes and turtles. Wildlife abounds in the mini forest. Birds, butterflies, geckos, monitor lizards, and freshwater turtles are a common sight. We have our own water system and the house has plumbing and water supply. We are still landscaping some areas of the property but overall, its a peaceful little place where you can relax and enjoy, either alone or with a small group of close friends and family members. The place is ideal for 2-4 people, but you can squeeze up to six persons using tents. Unless specified during your booking inquiries, we only offer one of the two bedrooms to accommodate the first two guests (i.e. you and your friend, spouse, or sibling will share a queen sized bed). However, for booking with three to four guests, both bedrooms will be available. We have one queen size bed on one of the rooms while the other room has a bed frame that can be converted from a queen size to two single beds. Kindly let us know your preferred sleeping arrangement during your booking. For bookings of more than four persons, kindly inquire with us for special arrangements with your group.
The neighborhood is peaceful and friendly. We are a fishing and farming community. The nearby beach is usually empty save for some local fisherfolks that use the area for subsistence fishing. It is usually great for early morning walks, you may swim as well but this is not really a beach recommended for swimming since like any beach in the mainland Palawan facing Honda Bay, you have to watch out for jelly fish, esp. in the months of January to May. There are also nearby convenient stores where you can get pretty much everything, from veges, condiments, canned goods and even chicken, however for produce, we recommend getting in at Puerto Princesa public market. We are midway between underground river and Honda Bay Wharf and ideal for people who wanted to experience and get acquainted with a more laid back lifestyle in the rural villages of Palawan (no night life here except if you go to the nearby resort).
  • This was a great place to stay. The whole family was involved from doods to his brother mon and wife and granfather. They helped with transportations, and activities. We got some great breakfasts with fruit, eggs, and toast. We paud for a terric dinner for 350 for 4 people. The best fish and sauce. The neighborhood was friendly and helpful.

    Connie2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in this house. The view every morning was just great. I can still imagine myself sipping coffee at 6am outside with that cool breeze..That was priceless for me. We can't thank you enough Doods for making our stay comfortable and for arranging our transpo.. I like to cook and I must say this house have better kitchen utensils than our previous accommodations.. It is a quick walk to the beach and we had drinks once at a nearby resort.

  • If you’re looking for a laidback place off the beaten path in the area of Puerto Princesa, no need to look any further! We stayed for 2 nights and the place gives you the feeling of being immersed in nature. The food was also great and when you plan to continue you travel to the north or to the south of the island you can easily pick up a van or bus along the main road.

    Jérôme2018-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Dood's place was exactly what we were looking for. Off the beaten track, a truly local experience. Dood's family was very generous in ensuring we were taken care of and in sharing their local knowledge.

  • If you're looking for a local experience off the beaten path, check out this cottage. Nestled amongst rice fields and Tilapia ponds, this quiet gem is run by a kind local family who provide great advice on things to do, offer home cooked meals for a reasonable price and even help with laundry! I thoroughly enjoyed my quiet holiday here. You're a stone's throw from the beach and a 15min motorcycle ride from the river for rafting and canoeing. Highly recommend.

    Vanessa2017-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Doods was not around during our stay but his brother and wife were very helpful. The internet and satellite TV did not work when we arrived but his brother fixed them quickly for us. The hot water did not work at all during our stay. The bedroom was comfy and the kitchen had all the essentials we needed for cooking. The house is not really convenient to go much of anywhere, there is a beach nearby but it is definitely not a beach to go swimming at and the only resort we found nearby didn't look very inviting or look like it had a pool (mentioned in the description of things to do nearby the cottage). Would be best if you have a motorbike to explore the area. We brought all our food for cooking every meal, which we were glad we did as there did not seem to be any other options for eating (though his brother did say he couls help is find fruits or veggies if we needed). Rent this cottage if you can entertain yourself; if you need to be entertained or have things to do nearby, look elsewhere.

    Katie2016-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Matillano family truly made us feel welcome in their home. Doods is a great host as he grew up in the area and knows much about Palawan topography, wildlife and history due to his nature of work - such a great resource! The home is a lovely cottage surrounded by rice paddies, trees, and farm animals. The highway is a 5-minute walk away making it easily accessible by bus/public transportation. Sari-sari stores are nearby - from vegetables, canned goods, shampoo to chicken, you'll never run out of supplies. The beach is a quiet 10-minute walk away and usually it was just our family of 3 there with 1 or 2 fishermen. (Imagine having the beach all to yourself!) Since it's off the beaten tourist track, we had a glimpse of true provincial Palawan living. We made a great choice of spending the night here before our flight back to Manila instead of inns/guesthouses in downtown Puerto Princesa. Highly recommended for families! Our 9-year old, who is a true-blue city girl, loved "hanging out"with the carabaos and all the space nature provided.

The Amazing Villa is a beautiful summer house, set in spectacular natural surroundings. It's a place to chill out, to recharge and to get inspired, far away from mainstream tourism. A place you can call home. The Amazing Villa sits on a large private property with 2 km of private coastline (of which 600 meters are white sandy beaches). The mountains in the background - covered with virgin rain forest - form a spectacular backdrop. We like to eat fresh and healthy foods, so we have a large organic garden with vegetables, herbs and spices. We also keep French chickens (free range) for eggs and meat. Freshly caught fish can be had daily from a nearby fisherman's village. We hope our 2 Labradors and 2 cats will make you feel at home the moment you arrive. During the daytime you will most likely be enjoying the surroundings and the beach. At night you will fall asleep, soothed by the sounds of the waves and the rain forest. The house comes with two gardeners, a maintenance man and a beach janitor (for daily cleaning of the beach and its surroundings). You are welcome to do your own cooking, using our facilities (we cook on wood fire), but you may have to bring most of your ingredients from Puerto. The small shops near the Villa offer only basic things. If you wish, the hosts can also cook for you. My wife Theresa is very talented and highly passionate about cooking. She does wonders with all our garden fresh ingredients. Ask us about our meal plan ! We have built several private hideaways around the house, where you can enjoy the view and the sea breeze with a book, a cocktail or a cup of tea. Or just have a lazy afternoon nap in a hammock. Other amenities of the house include a gym, a petanque court, a cocktail bar, a yoga platform/view deck and an outdoor kitchen. Planned amenities for the near future are a Zen Garden, a wood fired brick oven and a zip line that will take you from your balcony straight to the beach. We are leading a comfortable yet low impact life style. We produce our own veggies and meat, make our own virgin coconut oil, natural bug repellents, yogurt, chocolate and cheese. We cook using only the freshest ingredients straight from our garden. We avoid chemical additives and processed foods. If you wish to learn or participate in our organic farming, you are very much welcome. We have some live stock to tend to as well (cows, goats, water buffaloes, chickens, rabbits). To help keep our carbon footprint low, we invite all our visitors to plant one tree each. Either a long living fruit tree or a tropical hardwood tree. We provide the seedlings and make sure the tree will prosper. Our place is ideal for: * Families with children * Couples looking to spend quality time together in paradise (hidden away from the rest of the world) * Nature lovers * Adventure lovers * People who favor a healthy life style Possible activities: * Beach & Ocean (swimming, snorkeling, fishing, paddle boating, bonfire / BBQ) * Mountain River (swimming, fish spa, BBQ) * Jungle (hiking on old mountain trails, native hunting trails, bird watching, trip to waterfalls and relaxing in hidden lagoons)
We live in a part of Palawan that is exceptionally beautiful and as of yet totally untouched by mass tourism. Many of our neighbors are indigenous people (of the Tagbanua tribe). The Tagbanua still live very close to nature and possess a wealth of knowledge about plants from the forest, natural and spiritual healing and nature in general. Knowledge that has largely been lost in modern "civilized" society today.
  • Herwigs place was a friendly and relaxing place to unwind and spend time with my family. The natural surroundings are stunning and it is getting rarer and rarer to find a place untouched by mainstream tourism. I really enjoyed Amos and Toto's cooking and I recommend other people enjoy this if they stay. The beach is beautiful and perfect for a toddler. The only bad side if this part of Palawan is the sandflys which there is really anything you can do about it. Me and my son didn't get bittten too bad but my husbands skin had a reaction to them and 10 days after the trip they are still causing him a lot of itchyness. Sandflys are a million times more itchy than the worst mosquito bite I have ever had. They take weeks to go away. Despite this we still had an amazing time.

  • Love the unique experience from staying at Amazing Villa. Herwig has been real hospitable, he assisted us even for matters beyond the stay, such as checking if Robinsons mall is open on christmas eve. I am happy that my two nephews who are usually glued to gadgets have had time to disconnect and enjoyed the nature. We had fun in the private beach trying to surf, swimming in the river, planting trees, and played with two adorable dogs. The limited wi fi availability is blessing in disguise if you really want to break from routine and great for families to bond together with many activities to occupy our time. Our room is clean and spacious and Theresa cooked delicious meals, though I must say it is rather expensive for PH standard. Be careful with sandflies, though they do not seem to bite everyone (I am the only one bitten somehow). Thank you Herwig and Theresa, for the story and for sharing with us your place.

  • A great place, Heaven on earth. loved staying there. Herwig and his wife were hospitable. loved the food and the property has one of the best location I have seen in palawan.

  • If you enjoy good company, excellent food, a well stocked bar and good story telling then this is a great place to go. Its remote, and a considerable drive over some rough roads through the hills running down the spine of Palawan. Herwig describes part of the experience as 'digital detox' which is a humorous way of drawing attention to the fact that all electronic communication with the outside world disappears a few miles outside Puerto Princesa, Unless you have a sat phone, forget calling the office or responding to emails. Theresa's cooking is spicy, adventurous, fresh, and guaranteed to stimulate the palette. The helpings are huge. Most, if not all the ingredients come straight from the garden and land on your plate a few hours after being picked (or plucked) and cooked with TLC over a wood fire in an open air kitchen. Beautiful surroundings overlooking a long, almost deserted beach of fine hard packed sand. Swimming is great and at night the lights of a small fishing fleet appear against the inky blackness.Yes! Yes! Not for the faint-hearted or addicted texters and bloggers.

  • We stayed with Herwig and Theresa for 3 days, unfortunately. Looking back we could have stayed for weeks. And I'm sure they would've let us. Herwig and Theresa are extremely hospitable, the wil go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasent stay. More importantly, Theresa's cooking is amazing! She works wonders in their outside kitchen, with only fresh ingredients. Herwig is in charge of the liquid cuisine. He will make you a "bottomless" rum&coke (or any drink you like) any time a day. Anything is possible at their place. If you're seeking some privacy, there's no better place then here. But also for cosy dining and late night talkings next to a bumfire, this is your spot. The rooms are new, clean and comfy. The surroundings resemble a bbc documentary. In short, truly worth it!!

    Leonie2012-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Herwig’s place offers fantastic views and the private beach is pristine and beautiful. You can take long walks on fine sand by the coconut trees and forest, swim in quiet waters and enjoy snorkeling 100 m from the beach and see colorful fish and corals. Herwig and his staff are very friendly, helpful and responded rapidly to any of our wishes, from dietary preferences, to doing laundry or buying a few items for us in town. Meals are a little expensive but bountiful and very tasty and healthy and they can accommodate all your requests ( be sure to communicate them in advance). There are some mosquitoes and sand flies at the beach, do use the mosquito repellent they provide. Overall a very relaxing and resourcing stay recommended to families and couples.

  • Liebe Reisende, also Herwig ist sehr bemüht.

Privacy, three bedrooms with toilet & shower. Maid service. The best snorkeling & diving nearest to Manila. Other water sports available. Kayaking, Sailing, Island hopping, Windsurfing, Wake Boarding, Underwater Macro Photography
Scuba Diving & other water sports destination closest to Manila. With emphasis on macro photography, deep & current diving.
Very private & restful. View of several accessible islands. Coral formation right in front.
  • The maid and caretaker were very helpful and friendly. They took care of our food, going to the market when we finished our supplies and getting it all prepared. There is water available and a grill for barbecues. Bonfire was also prepared for us when we requested it. Kayaks, snorkeling and windsurfing gears are also free to use. The only downside is that it can get very hot since only electric fans are available.

    Jem2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The whole place was beautiful. Unfortunately it was raining when we were there so there were bouts of brownouts especially at nighttime. We were not able to do any water activities but we were informed that kayak, life vests and aqua shoes were available. There is a generator in the premises that can provide for the use of lights and fans when power went out. Understandably there were insects but beds were covered with nets which was needed when you sleep. The caretakers Cecilia and Nelson were very helpful.

    James2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • This venue is ideal for groups that value their privacy and exclusivity. The place is amazing and a hidden treasure and was downright splendid. A perfect place to stay, calm and (Website hidden by Airbnb) was far better in person. My only regret was that we only booked for two nights. Although I wasn't able to meet Miss Marian, communicating with her was a breeze. The caretakers, Nelson, Darwin and ate Cecile was very helpful. Even Ariana and her dog Ramsey was very accommodating and friendly. We'll be coming back for sure and for a longer stay next time.

  • It is literally having an entire resort all to yourselves. The villas are located at the bottom of a ridge accessed down a natural stone stairway from the parking area. The place has a wide shoreline guaranteeing privacy, peace and quiet that you rarely find in nowadays congested tourists spots. All sorts of watersports facilities are also available and the staff are very helpful. The resort attendant can whip up native dishes for your meals, just bring enough food provisions for your stay. The coral reef a few meters off the shore is quite intact and the current is safe enough for snorkelling. You can also have boat tours arranged to the islands nearby. The villas are cozy and give you a majestic view of the sea and the sunset. The washrooms have modern amenities cleverly designed to blend with the native ambience of the cottages. We had a wonderful time staying here.

    Martin Ignacio III2018-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • The place is a natural paradise with excellent coral in front of the house and amazing sunsets. The accommodation is nice if you don't mind being immersed in the nature and looking for a calm hideaway. Also very good snorkeling, sailing windsurf and kayak equipment available and very helpful staff. We were hit by Typhoon Nina and left without electricity for 4 days with only a very small generator, no lamps or candles available, no fridge, no hot water, WIF etc. so the stay was a bit rough. Rooms leaning during our stay could have been better.

    Paolo2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Overall a very nice experience. Great, accomodating and helping staff. I actually met the owner on the 2nd day while he was inspecting the grounds and making sure everything is in good condition. I would definitely recommend their place to people I know.

    Masahito2016-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome space. Clean waters and a beautiful reef nearby. Everything you need is there (full kitchen, towels, snorkeling gear, kayaks, life vests, etc.) and the caretakers were extremely helpful. Ate Cecilia always asked us if we needed anything, and always tried to help in cooking (she seems like she's proud of her work), she always cleaned up after us even if we said we should do it ourselves. She just told us to relax and just enjoy the place. Darwin was also very helpful, he even offered to build a bonfire for us on our last night. The only cons were the weak water pressure (totally lost water on our 2nd night, we weren't able to bathe) we experienced and the long stairway to get to the place which has been explicitly forewarned, so no issues there. Overall, the place is great value for money and we'd love to come back.

Visit our other house : https://www.airbnb.fr/rooms/5226181
The Habagat house has three bedrooms with double bed. One bedroom has a very large bed (2,50 m wide) made for jetlagged babies who wants to sleep with their parents. Visit Amihan house with other pictures of our surroudings here : https://www.airbnb.fr/rooms/5226181 All inclusive means three meals.
We can help you with authorizations and fees asked for those sites : Mt Mantalingahan, Tao't bato tribe, Mantayob falls which range from few hours to several days expeditions. From tabo you can hire guides (500 pesos in total) to walk to the Turbong falls.
  • Our journey was arranged by Mommy Sally so that a driver was waiting outside the airport. It is an arduous journey but quickly forgotten once you arrive. Mommy Sally was in our room with a hug and some dinner when we arrived even though it was rather late. Immediately I could tell that all the photos and descriptions could not do this setting justice. It was remote and stunningly beautiful, even more wonderful once the sin rose. The cabin and grounds are immaculately maintained. The food is simply prepared and wonderfully fresh and delicious. The water could not be closer to your cabin and Mommy Sally provides many diversions; kayaks, SUP, snorkeling, etc.. I recommend asking Mommy Sally or one of her family or neighbors that help with the chores for their guidance involving the local activities. You'll find the coral easier with a little help. You may get to meet the monkeys with a local guide or kayak the mangrove. We got lobster directly from the little lobster farm we visited just a few hundred meters from our beach. In our for stay I'm sure that we only scratched the surface. This place has a rustic and simple spirit, but it's clear that it is run with intelligence, sincerity, and great care. For those not set on all the luxuries and comforts of an expensive all-inclusive Mommy Sally's is an absolute paradise!

  • My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay in the Hagabat house. Communication with Alex before arrival was excellent and prompt, which is much appreciated! As others have mentioned, the 5-hour drive is quite a task, but also a treat for the eyes, as there are many homes and people and animals to see along the way. I really enjoyed seeing the Palawan residents' way of life. We enjoyed every meal provided, which included pancackes, fresh fish, fruit, curry, and barbecued meats. Everything provided was so tasty and healthy. The staff was also very helpful, even providing toothpaste from the market when we mentioned we forgot to bring some. :) Of course there is no wi-fi and no air conditioning, so you must be prepared for a simple, relaxing vacation. The beach is absolutely beautiful and the surrounding garden is beautiful as well. The many palm trees created a nice shady canopy and the free-roaming animals were always a welcome sight. You won't have a 5-star hotel experience, but you'll be hard pressed to find this sort of private beach experience and welcoming staff anywhere else. Enjoy!

    Gentry2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Four of us stayed at mommy Sally's for 4 nights and it was a really nice and unique experience. You really feel like you are away from it all while here. The food was good and the beach was amazing. We mostly enjoyed our time spent with Vic (Bic), a nearby neighbor and fisherman. He brought us out on his boat while he pulled up his net and showed us some nice snorkeling. Another day he took us to the mangroves and showed us his house. He is a real character and definitely recommended to get to know him. There had just been a typhoon so the roads were even worse than normal near the house. It took about 7 hours from puerto princesa and from rizal to el nido was about 12 hours (both trips with a lunch stop). It was very long but the drive is beautiful and worth it.

    Christina2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at Mommy Sally was overall good. There were a few things that could have made it better. Since we visited on gloomy days and the home runs on solar power, we unfortunately didn’t have power the first and part of the second night. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable. It was damp from the humidity, so we slept on our towels. Just a heads up, the ride to the Airbnb is very uncomfortable, which is out of the host’s control, but be prepared for a rough bumpy road. We arrived very late at the Airbnb and Mario (our host for the stay, Mommy Sally was out of town) served us dinner. He was very accommodating with our meal times. We even asked him what’s the best time for him to serve our meals and he said anytime that works for us. All the meals were great. I’m a vegetarian and my boyfriend is an omnivore; the meals accommodated both of our diets. The location was the best. We had wanted to go snorkeling but the waves were too rough to take the kayaks out. So we strolled on the beach. It was very secluded and we almost had the entire beach to ourselves. Overall, I would recommend the Airbnb. It’s not a fancy hotel stay; glamping is the best way to describe our stay.

  • In one word; fantastic! I highly reccomend staying at this hidden gem in the south of palawan. Of you are looking for rest and inspiration then this is the place to be. Mommy Sally and her family took great care of us and prior to our stay Alex arranged everything perfect for us. Thanks a lot for everything!

  • Nonna's house is the perfect place to stay if you don't want to stay right in the middle of the hustle and bustle. It's perfectly situated just outside of Station 2 (which is the central location of white beach) and is only a 20min walk along the beach to reach all the action. You don't need to walk though as tricycles are always around to give you a lift. The room is beautiful and clean, it opens up on to a balcony where there is a kitchenette handy so that you can make tea and coffee or even small meals if you like. The bed is amazingly comfortable! What I loved most about this place though, are the hosts. They were both there to greet us on arrival, big beautiful smiles and great hospitality. They can tell you all the best places to eat and watch the sunset. They made our trip even more enjoyable. I highly recommend staying here if you want a little peace and quiet but still within walking distance to basically everything!

  • This is really the best value, cleanest, most comfortable villa you can find in Boracay. Anyone, especially couples or families should definitely stay here. It is close to Diniwid Beach which in my opinion is better than the White Beach because it's more private and less tourists. It is still walkable to White Beach. The bed is so amazingly comfortable, and the rest of the room especially the bathroom is so new and clean which is a rarity in the Philippines. The best part is the warm hospitality of the hosts who are eager to help and welcome us to their home. Thanks for a wonderful stay, I will definitely come back to Nonna'S House when in Boracay.

    Toni2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a serene, lovely and more intimate place to stay in Boracay, definitely this is the place! House is clean and lovely, the view is amazing, wifi have great connection and it is close to diniwit beach which is a very nice, less crowded beach beach than station 1,2&3. Hosts gave us great tips that are very useful for our stay in Boracay (lovely couple). Would definitely stay here again! Thank you! Note that this place is 10 mins away with a tricycle drive from d*mall.

  • It's very pleasant to have such a nice stay here! The location is great as well where is only 5min away from Diniwid beach. Thank you both so much for accommodating me and my mom. And glad to hear a lot of trip advices from you too! We gonna miss here and you!

  • Nona and Fabrizio are great hosts! Open, communicative and with always good recommendations. The room is super worthy for money. Clean, big and confortable. The location is perfect: close to Diniwid Beach and walkable distance to White Beach. Don't hesitate to book Nonna's house during your stay in Boracay!

    Marta2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We've booked the room since July for our January 2016 trip, since then I've been so excited to see the house itself. And it was everything I expect it to be - clean, cozy, big, well-ventilated and the real atmosphere of true relaxation! Quiet and privacy! What I love about Nonna's House is that it has the comfort of your own home with a twist. It's close to Diniwid beach which me and my bf visit mostly for sunset viewing. Borianna and Fabrizio have been such amazing host, they assist us well and give us tons of tips! Where to eat, what to do, where to go - so be sure you have pens and paper! The location of Nonna's House is what we were looking for - quiet and not so commercialized. Its a peaceful community! Away from hustle and bustle. A perfect getaway!

  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay in Boracay at Nonna's House - A lovely hut with friendly people and beautiful nature around. Our room is on the 2nd floor, about 40 sqm big, King-size bed with 1.8m wide, and the bathroom is also with comfortable size. Very clean and fully equipped. 1 minute walking distance to the Dinivid beach - a clean and quiet beach with no few tourist, but some nice restaurants and bars. For example the Spider's house, very special and worth to pay a visit. Our landlord - Boriana&Fabrizio are very nice and warm-hearted. They gave us many useful hints, for example: where is the best Spanish restaurant, where is famous to visit, what we could do, etc. Perhaps you can meet them on the beach with their loved dog Lara if you get up early enough;)) If you want to have a romantic holiday with your partner in Boracay but not in the crowd, Nonna's House is definitely your first choice.

Just an hour and a half from Manila, this is the perfect quick getaway private vacation home in the heart of anilao batangas. Its located within the same area as the popular Vistamar resort, Anilao backpackers, etc. It has direct access to the beach, and has a huge balcony with the view & the breeze of the beach. The usual studio hotel rates in anilao is 6 - 8k a night, while we offer the whole house with 4 bedrooms for only Php8,500 a night on weekends and Php7,979 on weekdays.
  • An okay place just make sure not to book during rainy season. Literally by the beach but has no appropriate beach area where you could do beach activities such as sunbathing, beach bumming, etc due to neighbors.

  • Sir Deo, the owner was so accommodating...his place is highly recommendable..ideal for family of 15 to 20 pax..it has clean bedrooms, clean bathrooms and complete kitchen utensils.. • The house is totally great.. Nothing to worry about your home needs. But the beach is not good for team building activity. Deo is accommodating and nice.

  • Our stay was simply amazing! The listing is spacious, clean and very welcoming. We loved the kitchen as it has everything! The rooms are all clean and tidy. It's very comfortable. As for the host, Tito Deo is super kind. He's very considerate, hospitable and accommodating. One of the best hosts ever!! Doni, despite being overseas, responded to my messages in a reasonable amount of time and I appreciate that. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. Highly recommended. Thank you Tito Deo & Doni :)

  • Place was very spacious. You can fit 20 people at most. Cooking was a breeze since everything you need is available. We really enjoyed our stay and Sir Deo was very gracious and accomodating to us.

Views through swaying palms to the sea lapping distant cliffs, your private white sand beach, own pool, all bedrooms en-suite and with sea-view balconies, this is an exquisitely designed property, you'll enjoy absolute solitude but with all mod-cons!
Owners have designed and had constructed "European" style buildings with high living standards. The property consists of two houses side by side, one big, one small, together can sleep maximum 11 adults in beds plus 3/4 kids or not-too-big small adults on sofas. Additional bedding will be required for sofa-sleeping. BIG HOUSE: Upstairs - 4 double bedrooms, 3 en-suite with hot/cold showers, wardrobes, drawers, etc. Large bedroom has 2 sofas. All bedrooms with sea-view or pool-view balconies. Downstairs - Bathroom with tub. Large living area with sofas, TV, sliding doors onto sea-view verandah. Dining room with table sits 10, sliding doors onto verandah with sea/beach views. Fully equipped kitchen - fridge/freezer, electric hop, gas hob, large electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, utensils etc. Exit kitchen through sliding doors onto patio and swimming pool area. Basement - fair-sized storage area and space for 3/4 additional camp beds, etc. SMALL HOUSE: Upstairs mezzanine - 1 double bed, clothes hanging area, chest of drawers, ladder-steps to downstairs. Downstairs - Kitchen with fridge, gas hob, microwave, utensils etc. Bathroom with hot/cold shower and tub. Small living area, dining table, sofa, TV, etc. Sliding doors onto verandah with nice and garden beach views. Basement - Small room with 1 single bed, nice sea view (no air-con - fan only). ALL ROOMS IN BOTH HOUSES ARE WITH REMOTE-CONTROLLED AIR-CONS. Most rooms have dimmer lighting - no bright lights when you don't want them! STAFF HOUSE is set inland away from guest houses, consists of living area, 2 bedrooms each with 2 bunk beds, plus 2 bathrooms each with toilet and shower. For large groups of guests Staff House can be rented for additional cost while staff relocate to nearby accommodation.
This area is still amazingly undeveloped and beautifully natural. At night you hear only the waves lapping the beach, the chirping of crickets, and the breeze in the trees (depending on the time of the year, of course!). The nearest neighbors living in their traditional bamboo and palm-leaf houses are a 10 minute walk inland through the jungle. There are no cars, no artificial sounds. There is absolutely nothing and no-one here, except you - and if you like real, natural beauty, you'll totally love this!
  • We didn't get to meet Graham, but Aileen and Kerwin were of great help to us all throughout our stay, as well as before and after. Aileen was such an asset in organizing our arrival and departure, as well as a day tour of the island of Guimaras. Communication with Graham was also easy and we got al the important information we needed. The place is simply beautiful: nice beach area (great to swim and snorkel with the tide, a bit trickier at low-tide), very nice pool and beautifully designed kitchen (the nicest we've seen so far in a Filipino house!). The rooms are also spacious with modern and silent aircon units, although in the "winter" season the sea breeze was cool enough to sleep with open windows. The place is far away from the villages and Iloilo, but the travel itself with a banka is part of the adventure. It's an ideal place for bonding for families and group of friends. Thanks Aileen & family for making our stay a memorable one!

  • Pictures do not do this place justice! Clean, quiet. This can be your escape from your busy and hectic life. I stayed here with 9 other friends and it was amazing! Communication with the host and assistants was easy and clear. Note that if you plan on taking the hiking route in thats its pretty hard especially carrying all the stuff you need but its worth it!

    Eusebio Dan2018-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place and the views are spectacular. Definitely a hidden treasure of Guimaras, never expected something so peaceful and relaxing. Hospitality went above and beyond. Will be back for sure!

    Oscar2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • If you are on the fence about booking this place, I suggest you go ahead and do it. It’s much nicer than expected. Nothing beats having a private beach cove and lovely house all to yourself. One tip, do take the boat transportation and avoid traveling by land since there is quite a long, hard trek. Aileen’s boat contact has competitive rates. Oh and Aileen’s great too.

    Jacob2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • It will be injustice if I won't provide feedback on three aspects which made our stay in Graham's place one of my best travels, to date. For Graham: The most accommodating host you could ever have. Communication was excellent - providing you with as much information as necessary and as transparent as he can get. He provides options too, and a very detailed overview of what to expect. For Aileen, the house staff: We are chasing an itinerary around the province, and Aileen made sure we do not run out of options or constraint with activities. She made sure we understood what we are up to, and followed-up our needs as much as she can. When at the house, she guided us through what we needed to know -- and gave us the privacy we wanted after she's done. An excellent service. For the house: EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL! Exactly what we were dreaming of having. The pool was warm and comfortably awesome -- the kitchen is a heaven. If anyone of us knows how to bake, we could have had. It's armed with almost everything a kitchen-lover would need. The rooms were big and comfortable.. and everything was just pure beauty. I WILL DEFINITELY RETURN TO THIS PLACE! That's not shouting, that's screaming for joy! ;-)

  • A perfect private getaway for small or big groups. House is clean and complete amenities, proper kitchen, aircon on all areas inside, etc. Aileen and the staff are wonderful! Pool and private beach, and natural beauty of Guimaras. Feels like Capri in a way :) In getting there, the best is to get a private boat. Feels exclusive too. Great property! Minus points for us maybe the size of bed, as we are both tall. Also, an outdoor dining set can be good around the pool for al fresco dining.

    Ruby Anna2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this place for my family based in Iloilo and who spent the weekend there for my Dad's birthday celebration. They had a great time in this lovely hidden gem in Guimaras! My family couldn't make it on the weekend of my Dad's birthday because of the low pressure area so I had to cancel the booking and requested Graham to rebook. Without any questions, he immediately responded to my request and was considerate about it. Aileen, was very thorough, accommodating and helpful in everything! My family said everyone (staff) was great. They enjoyed the food they cooked as well! Thank you Graham and to the whole crew for making my Dad's weekend getaway a memorable one! Lyle

    Lyle2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Graham's private house with private pool and white beach was just fabulous! Graham took care of us very well despite he was miles away and he does have someone on site to take care of our needs and queries. The house was beautiful, spacious, modern and well-presented. The whole house is centralized with aircon and en suite bedroom. And the exclusivity of the property was just amazing! The best way really to get there is to hire a "pump boat" either directly from Ortiz/Buenavista (in Iloilo City) or in Jordan (Guimaras). You could arrange a day excursion (island hopping tours) from the caretaker coz she knows people and in good rates. Overall, we are all pleased with our stay in this amazing property.

Our humble abode is centrally located. It's a 7 minute walk from Bolabog beach and an 8 minute walk to White beach. 2 minutes to McDonalds & DMall where restos and needed services are located. Our unit is spacious and has all the basics our guests would need. I am not always in the island but my caretaker helps in cleaning and preparation of the room. Also, I am always a message away should guests need anything. I usually reply fast.
The location is central. Our design is open. Even during really hot days, because of the high ceiling, room keeps cool. Approx. 35sqm, out studio apartment has a large bathroom and functional kitchenette. With plates and utensils, rice cooker, small oven toaster, induction cooker, and refrigerator. Not seen in photo but for bigger groups, I can provide an extra mattress.
Our apartment is located in a residential area but very close to the action. Our 2 storey building is inside a large gated lot.
  • i m very happy with my 8 days stay in coy's studio apartment. just 6 mins walk to d'mall where the action is. the outside surrounding may be a little dark especially for first time traveller (arriving in the evening). you will be pleasantly surprised that the apartment is nicely decor and well maintained by the caretaker. the bed sheets and 1 towel are clean. the high ceiling makes the apartment spacious and the air conditioning works very well too. there are a few provision shops and a pharmacy along the street that leads to d'mall. coy quick responses to any inquiries is also very reassuring. i will use coy's service again when i visit boracay again. thank you very much coy.

  • The trip started off with a public bus ride from Manila to the Alitagtag area. Our host Marc provided directions and kindly came to pick us up from the nearest town before driving us 15/20km to the beautiful and hidden treasure of the Mertola's. Marc was so friendly and generous with his time for us, and we really enjoyed talking with him about the local area and his own stories. It was lovely to escape busy Manila into a region of smaller towns, farms and jungle. Tucked away at the end of a long and lovely driveway, we came upon what would be our relaxing home for 3 nights. It was absolutely breathtaking and we were so impressed with the quality of facilities and beauty of the view. The Mertola family have done a truly amazing job at building this place and embracing the natural beauty. A couple of benefits we didn't realise were that we would be the only ones there (just brilliant!), and that breakfast would be cooked for us each morning as part of our stay. Overall we were so impressed with the food and the service provided by Mertola's lovely employees. We also went with the option of cooked dinners. The food was sourced locally, was fresh and delicious. We would eat all of our meals/and spend most of our time in the top of the open aired bungalow. Truly spectacular with views of the lake and setting sun and very relaxing. We feel so lucky to have found Mertola's. It is a hidden gem. We also really love the values the Mertola family have - taking care of the environment, providing donation from accommodation payments to the local school, and considering the possibilities of solar power (we would be happy to provide any advice on solar from Australia). Thank you so much. We both hope to come back again one day and will recommend you to any of our friends and family who visit the Philippines.

    Helen2015-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasure to stay at Mertola's and I cannot praise the experience of staying there highly enough. From the accommodation, which directly looks over the Taal Volcano and Lake, to the kind hospitality of the family whilst being there. Its well worth making the trip to southern edge of the lake, and this accommodation gives private, direct, and a serene experience of viewing the lake directly below. Waking up and watching the lake come alive from the bedroom balcony was a memorable experience. The grounds of the property are spacious and well kept. The hosting family were overwhelming in their kindness and assistance whilst there, making the experience truly enjoyable. The only shame for us was our stay was only short and would have loved to have stayed longer there.

    Kevin2016-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Despite the listing of a flexible cancellation policy, I have been charged 175USD for one night's stay, as I had to cancel after the first night. Apparently there was a miscommunication among the hosts. I have not received confirmation of a refund. If this is rectified, I will amend this review.

    Brandon2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • The place is highly recommended and so much more than we have expected. The hosts and caretaker are all very hospitable. Our vacation to this place was such a great experience that we wanted to go back again. We have recommended the place as well to our relatives and friends.

  • Perfect place for people who want to escape from congested city. Spend a night here in Mertola's with our pets. What I love most about this place is the overlooking view of Taal Lake. Sumptuous dinner and affordable meals. Imagine, two grilled tilapia and and a bowl of Pinakbet for 300 pesos. And I was not expecting having a heavy meal breakfast. Also, they offer body massage and if you want to go to the lake you may ask one of the staff. Our dogs were also allowed inside the room. So much appreciated since we forgot their leashes. I had a problem at that night. Lot of insects flying inside the room because I forgot to close the screen door. Was so worried and reported it to the staff. He allowed us to transfer to the other room since he couldn't find insect repellent and the room we were occupying were full of bugs and moths. The only downfall on this place is when I first enter the room saw dead moths and insects crawling on the floor so I borrowed a whisk broom to clean the space. I understand that the place is surrounded by forest better expect those flying insects. ( I think they forgot to sweep the floor.) But linens were neat and the room is well-kept. The place is so refreshing and I highly recommend this place. Bring your pets too!

  • Mertola's such a great place to visit! Very relaxing. Pool is shallow but nothing that can't be fixed by using floaters!

    Jackie2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • I love the Mertolas. They make that extra step to make sure you get to enjoy your stay in their place. If you're looking for peace and quiet amidst a backdrop of the other side of Taal lake, then this is the place for you. Food is also very good, and you can pre-order from their cook. I brought my in laws there and they were amazed at the beautiful view the resort has to offer. Two thumbs up!

    Jomick2015-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The place is great with nice view of the morning sunshine. Its a shame though that we weren't able to see the sunset because we were so late. We would like to thank you though for a short notice we are accommodated properly. We would also like to commend your caretakers Ariel and Glenn for patiently waiting for us even though we checked in late at night and for taking care of us for the rest of our stay. See you again!

The natural beauty of the jungle, along with the meticulously landscaped botanical gardens, paths, enclosures and ponds on the property, as well as the breathtaking vistas of the surrounding jungle and the South China Sea and beyond, make our property and location wonderfully unique......We are located 1km up the Ponderosa road adjacent to Villa Malasimbo. We are very near to White Beach and Puerto Galera is approximately 15 minutes away by road...... Secondly, to save any confusion, we wish to let you know that once you have made your booking, regardless if you are one guest or nine, the site is then closed for any other persons wishing to make another booking during that same time period that you have chosen to stay......Now.....The SPACE....The three floored concrete and native styled house was originally constructed in 2005. In the secluded bedroom near the upstairs entrance there is a double sized bed. The suite can also accommodate two more people on another double bed located around the corner on the far side of the living room. There is a moveable privacy partition located there also. An additional made up double and two single mattress are also available if needed. Therefore if you use only Mastercard then best to do your transactions before arriving in Puerto Galera or you can travel 50km to Calapan City and axcess the many banks available there whose ATM machines will accept your Mastercard)....For changing money, the Candava supermarket offers very good rates.....A very small community church has just been built on the Ponderosa road across from the entrance to the family property. It holds a service every Sunday at 6:30 am....Visa extensions are easily obtained from the Philippine imigration office here in Puerto Galera.....We do have the local knowledge and experience and are more than happy to advise you on and answer any questions and queries that you may have regarding just about anything and everything concerning Puerto Galera and the surrounds during your stay....We have also compiled and put together a comprehensive information brochure ,including locally drawn maps by Rod, for you that will be of assistance....We wish that you please make yourselves at home and that you enjoy your stay with us.
  • What a beautiful place to stay! We were there 5nights but could of stayed 5months. Rod, Necerita and all the family were such lovely people, they really make you feel part of the family, and are always checking if your ok or if you need anything and go out of their way to be helpful. The house is beautiful with lush forest and flower all around, the sound of the birds in the morning was lovely after the noise of Manila!!! I can't recomend this place highly enough. If like to meet locals and get great advice on where to see and what to do then this is the place! Thank you so much for having us it was a wonderful experience. Love to all the family and many thanks. Nathan + Gill

  • I had a really nice time at Rod and Necerita's retreat. Definetly they live in the paradise! I recomend everyone traveling to Puerto Galera to stay there because you wont regret! I stayed there while I was taking a Dive Course in Aninuan Beach, just 10 minutes driving from the house, and everything was just perfect! Rod was really helpfull when I was planning from my home country my staying in Puerto Galera, answering very quickly all mi mesages really fast! And Necerita is so nice! And she cooks amazing!

  • Things that truly stand out about Ate Necerita and Rod's place from all my experiences on Airbnb .. 1) The Space- it was really very BEAUTIFUL and quite big. the views of the sea all through the day, the lazy chairs - we just parked ourselves with a steaming cup of coffee and just sat taking in the views ! 2)The people - Ate Necerita and her little army made our stay very comfortable - what was truly exceptional was that they accommodated our every request - the whole transportation to and back from town was taken care of even at late night and never once we were just left to fend for ourselves(and never once did we feel that they were less than willing to help) They had thoughtfully kept for us a fully stocked fridge, plenty of water, ground coffee, coffee makers, utensils - really a lot more than we expected. Instantly felt at home (yes - be warned- there are other hosts who will maroon you on an island and expect to fetch your own water and toilet paper. recent experiences :) ) 3) Lists - comprehensive information about EVERYTHING . Extremely organized and everything you need to know. 4) Ate Necerita herself -the ready smile, the time she gave to make sure we were comfortable - the sprightly little lady put me to shame with her level of fitness too. Truly a pleasure.

  • Rod and Nelly are simply incredible hosts, and the property they own is amazing. Communication with Rod was very fast whenever we messaged him before arrival, and his instructions on how to get to Mindoro were perfect. He even gave us in-depth advice about transport between Manila and Banaue before our stay in Mindoro. Rod was there to greet us at Muelle and took us back to their home after a welcome drink in town. He then showed us around the property gardens, gave us lots of information about local activities, and provided a tailor made guide book complete with hand drawn maps. ACTIVITIES: Activities we did included a short jungle walk down into white beach past the Mangyan village, accompanied by Rod and one of the grandchildren. Rod showed us around the town, giving advice on where to buy fresh fruit, meats, and cheeses. We also went on two snorkelling trips with Rod and Nato, the boatman, which were both spectacular- Rod clearly knows the reefs like the back of his hand, he showed us starfish, sea turtles, sea snakes, a sea horse, and a school of tuna to name a few. He was the perfect guide. We spent a day at a nearby beach (sadly can't remember the name), recommended by Rod and Nelly. On our last day Rod kindly took us up to the top of the Ponderosa so we could see the sunset. Rod really knows the area and his passion and desire to share it with us during our stay was wonderful- his guidance and kindness was the highlight of our stay. FOOD: Nelly's food is delicious- she has a great range of meals to choose from. They are fairly expensive, however the portions are huge! We found 1 meal between two was enough for some meals, or we saved what we couldn't eat for lunch the next day. We had spaghetti bolognese, BBQ fish, BBQ pork and chicken, the soup and would highly recommend all of them. Rod also recommended a pizza place at the bottom of the Ponderosa road which was great- 200pesos for a huge pizza. The fridge is replenished with breakfast items and fresh bread (included in price), as well as beers and soft drinks at reasonable prices. Another big plus is the free supply of drinking water provided. PROPERTY: The property is amazing- we stayed in the main bit on the top floor and the views are stunning- you can watch the sunrise from your bed. The room is open plan and is enormous, spotlessly clean, and very well furnished. There are cards, games, books etc. and we enjoyed using the paintbrushes and sketch pad to attempt painting the view from the balcony! The bathroom is also huge- two very powerful showers (one hot, one cold). The kitchen area has everything you would need should you wish to self cater. The area surrounding the property is beautiful- it really does feel like you're in the middle of the jungle, and...

  • what can i say. The short stay we had with Rod and Nece was truelly an amazing experience. For anyone who wants the peace and quiet of living in a jungle paradise with million dollar views, this is it. Rod and Nece's house is absolutely beautiful and the views you get from both levels ,looking over the south china sea are simply stunning. Another thing i loved about their house was it was large enough to cater for our large group of 11. Having such a large group i found that the price was very affordable considering we had "million dollar views". The proximity of their house is not far from the main ''white beach" in Puerta Gallera and Rod organised a driver for us to get around which was perfect for our large group. Rod and Nece would have to be the most loveliest couple one could ever meet. From day 1,they were very accomodating and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Rod was very informative of things to see and do in Puerta Gallera which made the experience even better. We just wished our budget allowed us more time,as once we were there,we didnt want to leave. Puerta Gallera itself is a truelly beautiful part of the world and to stay in Rod and Nece's house was the "icing on the cake". We have used AIR BnB in various locations but this stay would easily be our most memorable. I cant speak highly enough of this amazing few days we had with Rod and Nece. For anyone wanting to stay in Puerta Gallera ,i would highly recommend this amazing house not only for value for money but also for the "million dollar views". The experience far exceded our expectations.

  • We had an exceptional time with Rod and Nelly.  The home was everything we expected and then some.  Rod was not only a great host but an invaluable tour guide helping us set up day excursions, meeting us at the ferry, helping us rent bikes, and setting up a fantastic day of snorkeling (among other things). Their home is very relaxing and a nice place to just unwind and observe nature.  As far as downsides to his place; the internet is a bit spotty and there is a bit of a walk in and out of his place but you get used to it quite quickly. If given the opportunity I would stay here again in an instant. A great place made even better by great hosts.

  • We stayed in Rod and Necerita's place with my family for 2 nights and we are group of 10 persons. When we arrive, Rod was there to give us a warm welcome in Muelle Port. He was very keen on explaining to us the things to know and places to go in puerto galera. He toured me around the house when upon arrival and was so helpfull to arrange all requests we had. The main house was amazing with its rustic design, the huge trees around the property was astonishing. The kids really love the tree house with the hanging bridge. And the highlight of all is the balcony view by the 3rd floor where we stayed, it was breath taking, we had our candle light dinner by the balcony for 2 nights. The house is very spacious and it has everything we needed. Kitchen utensils etc. were all available. Cleanliness was also a thumbs up. Necerita was also helpfull for all request we had. We also tried the jungle walk to white beach which took us 35mins. since we have kids with us. It was a long walk but the overlooking view and to see the small mangyan village was an experience worthwhile. However some added remarks would be, the pathway from house to main road was so steep my mom and dad had difficulty walking out to main road. Wish there was also TV by the 3rd floor. And would much appreciate if there was linen change on the 2nd day. And one last note would be the amount of trasportation arragement was kind of expensive which of course has nothing to do with the accommodation. But Overall.. we really enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend this place for those visiting puerto galera. Thanks Rod and Necerita for your kindness and the warm hospitality :) Appreciated!

    Vanessa2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Rod and Nelly's home is very pretty. The location is a bit off the beaten path so be wary if you are traveling with luggage. We each had a backpack and that was it. Necerita is super helpful with things around the home and how to get places on the island. Her cooking is amazing and she only requires a half day notice. The grandchildren are awesome and helped Nelly run errands. The view from the home is spectacular and although we opted not to stay in the treehouse it was very cool. She offered a motorbike to rent for a low price and it was nice using it to venture out. Due to the weather our exploring was limited but definitely worth the trip. When leaving, due to the weather, we got a bit stranded so instead of the four hour ferry back to Bintangas from Muelle, we had to go to Calapan City to catch the only running ferry. Twelve hours and 2500 pesos later we finally made it back, so please leave yourself time to get back if you need to catch a plane.

  • The house was our little paradize for 1 week. Overlooking the mangrove, you have the house for yourself with a lovely sitting area outside. We mainly sat outside and enjotyed the nice sea breeze. it was a little far from the shops/restaurants. Which is nice as it is quiet. but also a little tricky to get your grocery. We rented a car for 1 day. Cynthia drove us to some nice places as well. She is great host and has nice suggestions for restaurants etc. There is so much teo see and do at Palawan. 1 week was not enough to also be able to relax. Definately recommend this hous and Cynthia as a host to everyone!

  • This was out first port of call in the Philippines and an ideal setting for northern europeans like us to get used to the climate and the place. Our transport and local trips were well organised by Bonini and Mark. including a lovely trip to Honda Bay and Pandan Island. There's a handy corner kiosk nearby for snacks but we found no local shops within walking distance. The shopping mall - Robinsons - which has everything you need for self-catering is a 15 minute motorcycle tricycle away. The villa is well designed and furnished and the garden is very pleasant. Cynthia very helpfully arranged accommodation for one evening in an excellent Puerto Princesa bed and breakfast on our return leg from southern Palawan. The nearby beach is great if you are into kites and wind surfing but wasn't quite what we had expected. We just wanted a swim and it's a long way out before there's much depth. The admission charge to the beach includes a voucher for use at the bar. The locals, as we found throughout our stay in the Philippines, are very friendly indeed.

    Lorraine2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful, set away from busy roads. It is fully furnished and you have the opportunity to ask Mark, the caretaker to take you to the mall, market and other destinations by tricycle. Cynthia is a caring host, who not only picked us up from the airport but she also brought us there. If you are looking for some quiet time, surrounded by nature, the house is definitely for you. Not only do you get to wind down but the gazebo outside the house offers you the opportunity to sit outside to eat.

    Jona Mae2016-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia is the perfect Airbnb host. She picked us up at the airport and even dropped us off at the nearby mall to grab provisions from the supermarket. Along she way she pointed out restaurants to try and things to do. By the time we dropped off our bags were well situated to the city. Her place is truly a getaway from the bustle of Puerto. It's a bit of ride from the restaurants/bars of Rizal street in a quiet residential area. It sports a lovely outdoor area and has a nice view of the nearby mangroves. Beach access is a short walk down the road. Since the house is located away from the main Puerto area the caretaker, Mark, who lives next door has a tricycle dedicated to transporting the guests to where they need to go. The Robinson's mall is only a short drive away. The house has cable TV and a fully equipped kitchen. If you're looking for a relaxing stay away from the busyness of Puerto this place is for you, this is not the place to book it you're looking to be in the middle of the action.

  • For the people who Loves to stay close to Nature. It's far from all the city life. Big Garden and private place best for Families and couples looking for a peaceful setting. It's better to bring your own vehicle but if not then no worry they have caretaker's tricycle available for you at a minimal cost. We will definitely stay here again.

  • Villa San Manuel was the perfect base for our Puerto Princesa diving adventure. We stayed for 6 nights and really felt at home. We loved the big kitchen (complete with gas oven, stove and even juicer!), washing machine, and chilling with movies at night on the satellite TV. Cynthia was the perfect host, providing airport transfers and even spending a day driving us around as we explored Honda bay and the local craft brewery, Palaweno Brewery (highly recommended). Mark, the caretaker, was always on call to help out with house matters or drive us to Robinson's mall (small fee of 200 pesos return). We look forward to coming back to this very special place. Thanks so much Cynthia!

    Christiana2016-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia was a great host. She picked us up from the airport even though our flight arrived late in the evening, and woke up super early to take us to the airport when we left. The house was clean and comfortable and the surrounding area was lush and peaceful. As recommended, we kept the AC off in the living room to save energy, but kept the bedrooms nice and cool. Even though the house is a little out of the way, Mark, who lives next door, was always available to give us a tricycle ride into the city. I definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for an authentic local experience.

    Dustin2016-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • I've used Airbnb a few times, but Cynthia's was above and beyond my expectations. The house is beautiful, we couldn't get enough of the amenities inside and outside of the home. There was so much room to explore, to relax, be in the sun and in the shade. This was the perfect place to rest and relax, and then get up and walk 7 minutes to the nearest beach. I've been to the Philippines a number of times and this was my favourite experience. It was clean, had everything you needed. Cynthia was easy to communicate with and really showed us the best things to do in Puerto Princesa, and Mark the housekeeper was always there to help. We'll definitely be back!

  • Hayahay Villa was nothing short of amazing! It fit 8 adults perfectly, and could probably do well accommodating even more guests since the villa is huge. Nonetheless, we found 8 was a pretty ideal number; 2 persons to a room with 3 bathrooms was perfect. The space is beautiful and quite impressive. It is well equipped with everything one might need for their stay, and more, including a local phone, which came in handy when needing to call Marina for questions or help. Jenalyn, the housekeeper was great. She answered all of our questions, provided us with towels for the beach and kept the place nice and tidy for us. Marina was super easy to communicate with and always made herself available for any questions we had. The biggest drawback for us (and this was not even that much of a drawback) was the distance to Discovery Shores. We arrived for a wedding that called for us to be at various areas of station 1 for most of our stay (areas included Discovery Shores resort, Estacio Uno resort, The White House Beach Resort). The distance was honestly not that bad when taking a trike, but having to constantly go back and forth all the time made it a little of a hassle, whereas most of the guests staying at hotels could just walk through the beach to get to these areas. Of course this could have been resolved by us getting a place closer to those areas, however all 8 of us agreed that if we had the choice, we would still stay back at Hayahay...simply because we loved the space and communicating with Marina and Jenalyn was so easy. Another huge plus, Marina arranged for our transport to and from the airport. One thing to note for folks who aren't dog people: there was a family of dogs (2 adult dogs, 2 puppies) that lingered around the villa from time to time. They were not aggressive, but we could hear them at night barking and howling, and running on the rocks in the garden. They also managed to get a hold of trash and opened it on the lawn part of the villa, which Jenalyn was very quick to clean us for us. The dogs didn't bother us because we're all dog lovers, but it may be a sore point for those who are allergic or afraid of dogs. Everything went so smoothly. Highly recommended for groups looking for a beautiful, relaxing space.

  • I am so excited to share that this is the best experience I had in Airbnb! Marina is an awesome host, communicates well and made sure everything is smooth before check in. When we arrived at the villa we were greeted by Ate Jen (the caretaker) and gave us instructions and keys to the rooms. There is also fruits, milk, cereal and bread waiting for us in the kitchen. The villa is flawless! It's the best choice ever! We are a team of 11 people and we fit just perfectly with the place. The kitchen and entertainment area is our favourite, we spent most of our time there. The villa is well equipped, all we need is there! AC in all 4 rooms are working well too. We are so happy with our vacation, it wouldn't be the same if we didn't choose to stay here in Hayahay Villa. Thank you so much Marina and Jen! You guys are awesome!

    Harleine2016-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Hayahay Villa is a great place depending on what you are looking for. It is quiet and away from the crowded White Beach so if you are looking to be where all the action is...this is not the place for you. If you have trouble walking up and down stairs, this is NOT the place for you. (The stairs leading to the villa are not easy and will exhaust most people) However, if you are looking for a big quiet space (exactly like the photos) and a great space to enjoy with a group of people, this is the place for you. Marina was very welcoming and helpful as getting from the airport to anywhere on the island is not easy. There's also the helper on site "Lyn" that helped keep the facilities clean and maintained. The Villa is about a 5 min walk to Diniwid Beach. And like others have stated, it's another 15 mins walk to the beginning of Station 1. It is not very easy to get a motorbike taxi from the Villa to town...but we didn't have to wait longer than 10minutes to get one.

    Edmund2015-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice villa. We enjoy there for 5 nights. The living room is the best design for the big group.

    Li2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • My family loved and truly enjoyed our stay in Hayahay Villa. It was away from the tourist spots and the villa was so serene and peaceful. Great place for yogis! We look forward to our next Boracay visit :)

    Roly2016-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The villa is very spacious and there will also be a house keeper who will be there daily to clean the place :) The villa is located near the Diniwid beach too, it is only a 5min walk from the beach where some nice restaurants are located. However, there are also some disadvantages for staying there. The villa is quite a distance from station 2, around 10min by trike. Moreover, the main road is quite dark at night and that the villa doesn't have a gate to prevent outsiders from coming in.

    Chung Ying2015-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • The pics don't do the house justice - they are accurate but it's even nicer once there. Marina was awesome - cute and helpful what more can you want. She was there on time and helped us with anything we ever needed. She even had some fruit and a bit of food ready for us and a local cellphone to use if need be. There is a housekeeper there which makes your stay even more enjoyable as you always return to a clean house and a made bed. Location is great. Close enough to party but offering an almost private beach. Can strongly recommend.

  • The weather wasn't great, so we ended up having to sit in the restaurant portion playing cards every day. With that said, I wish that that would have been noted and extra care taken to make it a special stay for us. Neither Flora or Philip were there, and Martin sat in the restaurant next to us chain smoking with his son's friend. We had to ask for beach towels and often had to interrupt their game or their computer time to ask for drinks. I know the listing says that you have to ask to get your room made up but for this price they should at least make your bed and retuck your mosquito net every day. I wouldn't book here again.

  • No words can adequately describe the sheer natural beauty, luxury and exclusiveness of the experience at Floral Island Resort. Our 2 families spent 5 days on the Island with 4 adults and 6 kids. The experience begins before you even step off the boat that transfers you the 15 short minutes across Tay Tay Bay from the small village of Canique. As the island appears in the distance paradise begins to come into focus. A wide expanse of sand and crystal clear water, bungalows with traditional thatched roofs and an open air bar set high atop the black marble cliffs overlooking this place we had completely to ourselves for the next 5 days. I had to pinch myself. Surely only celebrities and corporate millionaires could afford such a place to vacation. But this was only the beginning of the incredible experience we would have. Michelin star worthy meals three times a day, easy access to a pristine coral reef for snorkeling, secluded white sand beaches and impeccable service that catered to literally your every need from not only the staff but the owners Martin and Flora themselves. By the end of the trip Martin and Flora felt like our hosts, family and even late night drinking pals. I could go on and on. Floral Island Resort is the sort of place most people can only imagine to experience. Make that dream come true and book a trip to paradise today!

  • I am always looking for more. For the next place that will keep my dreams entertained. This pursuit came to a conclusion as soon as I landed on Flora Island. No words can describe the genuine beauty of this magical place. No words can describe the time we had there together with my family, hosted by Martin, his lovely wife and their big-hearted team. To make it simple to anyone reading this: it’s a 10/10 on the location, a 10/10 on the accommodation, a 11/10 on the hosts, a 10/10 on the food & services. It’s a little paradise. You feel home from the moment you arrive, and feel home sick when you leave. In addition, the huge work you have done, the community you have created, is truly inspiring. On behalf of my family, thank you. thank you so much. We will be back, you have my word.

  • Amazing stay with wonderful hospitality. We had booked 4 days at Floral Island but decided to extend the stay with 2 extra days as it was available, and it was the best decision we made during our 2,5 weeks in palawan. Philipe, Martin and Flora was excellent hosts and we enjoyed Florals healthy cooking to the max! So nice to try some delicious Filipino foods! The island is fantastic and the whole service crew were really sweet and efficient. We will definetly be back to this little paradise

    John2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place was simply amazing (if you are debating whether to stay or not... just stay here -- you definitely won't regret your decision). There are too many great things to write about the island... - Host (Philipe): he was SUPER responsive and went beyond what he needed to do (one of my friends forgot her Kindle on the island, but Philipe helped us with sending it back to Japan). - Hosts (on the island): Martin, Flora, Irish and many others on the island made our stay on the island feel like we were staying at some 5-star resort, but more than that, they were great individuals to chat with :) - Island: The photos you see are real... they are not Photoshopped. (we went to Puerto Galera after Floral Island and yea... it was a MAJOR downgrade) -Activities: I was quite surprised by the number of activities that were available -- night fishing, snorkeling tour around the island (including cave tour and eating lunch on a remote island), BBQ on the sand, massage, etc. The list of all the amazing things goes on and on and on and... For those who are visiting the island, one recommendation I do have is to fly into El Nido than to PPS -- it'll save you a few hours of van ride and you'll arrive at the island more refreshed :)

    Hiroshi2018-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing island and overall experience!!! I don’t even know what to start with, everything was just beyond our expectations! We only got to meet Martin during our stay as Flora, his wife was away at that time. Martin was a really great host, good company with a lot of interesting stories and great cooking skills. My friends and I stayed here for 4 nights. The food was great, every day new interesting dishes, we were always asked for special requests and always getting way beyond what we asked for. Even got the opportunity to have one dinner on the beach, all the meat grilled there next to our table. Still drooling! The rooms are beautiful and cozy and each of them has different and interesting designs. Peaceful and quiet, as we had the whole island for ourselves. The water is crystal clear and the coral - spectacular - great snorkeling. I was so excited to find Nemo there! On top of that, there are also kayaks if you want to go around the island We also found the courage to climb the rocks to the top of the island and got breathtaking sunset views from up there. Wifi works perfectly and I say this with confidence as we’ve been to other places around Palawan and the signal is disappointingly poor to no signal whatsoever, in general. We were really sad to leave the place and hope to be back again one day. Thank you for hosting us!

    Marius2017-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t say enough about this place. Floral Island makes all of my previous 5 Star Airbnb’s look like a 1 Star dive. Absolutely stunning. Flora and her family have really thought of everything. My girlfriend and I were truly the only guests on the island and were treated like royalty. We’re also snobby New York foodies. Brian, the chef , killed it! The food was the best we had our entire trip. Every course of every meal was to die for. The snorkeling was better than anything you will get on the El Nido tours as the reefs are actually alive and growing. Plus, they were all ours to enjoy. No other people were in our way. Thanks you so much Floral Island! Experience of a lifetime.

On 2nd Floor, your private studio with bathroom and queen size bed, an open kitchen, with nice sea and sunset views. On 3rd Floor, your private Rooftop with fantastic 360° views of Boracay, and a bathtub. It's located on a hilltop above Shangri La There is a 35 meters access road that is quite steep. Our place is perfect for couples who want privacy, in a quiet area. If you're more a party person, it's not for you, you should rather look for places closer to white beach where all the bars are.
It's a private 3 storey building all for you, located on a hilltop, with only 1 unit good for 2 people: - 1st floor is a space open to our garden where we (try to) grow food - 2nd floor is where your studio (30m2) is located, with a semi open kitchen and 180° sea views. - 3rd floor is your private rooftop (25m2) with a bathtub and 360° view The views are absolutely fantastic, your private rooftop with bathtub, 2 beach chairs and 360° views offer a nice resting area. Property is surrounded by green lush vegetation. The studio has a nice queen size bed, a private bathroom with hot shower, a large terrace with semi open kitchen with nice sea views, hd cable tv, good wifi. It's the only unit of the building, so it's very private, no other guests on the property. Our own house is located at the back of the building.
It's a quiet neighbourhood, especially since we are on top of the hill, so it's very private and quiet. We are surrounded by green vegetation. Views are unobstructed, and there is no vis a vis. It's a good place for people who like tranquility and nice views. If you're more a party person, it's not for you, you should rather look for places closer to white beach where all the bars are. - Small shops "sari saris" which sell essentials: fresh fruits and vegetables, drinks, snacks, eggs, fresh fish and meat, and other convenient items, 1-2 minute walk. - Laundry service, 3 minute walk, opens daily 8a.m to 5p.m - Supermarket "Citymall" is 5 minutes away (by scooter)
  • Lovely place. Directions were perfect. Easy to get around the island.

  • This place has one of the most relaxing ambience. And that's how I will always remember it. Challenging pathway was worth the view on top.

    Trissa May2017-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was beautiful and the room was clean. But water is very small, the other is very good, from the top floor can see the shangri-la hotel, the only thing that makes me feel a little good place that a path is to go to the studio, and the steep slope, carrying luggage went up very difficult, other are good.

    Yun2017-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The place was amazing, clean, and the view was incredible from the private rooftop deck. The outdoor kitchen was a fun place to cook some eggs for breakfast from down the road. Great location if you want to be close to beaches that are clean and quiet and not super touristy. You are out of the main tourist area but it is super easy and cheap to hop on a tricycle. Roselyn helped us settle in and was very helpful. Would highly recommend.

  • A few minutes away from the main beach, but is quiet and truly an escape from the mayhem of Boracay. Great amenities and the help are super accommodating, too.

"Bahay Kubo" is the Filipino word for a traditional Filipino house. Our well-loved 2-bedroom home is fashioned with native materials from the sawali walls to our bamboo floor. Enjoy and relax at our peaceful home in Concepcion Town, only 36km from the very touristy Coron Town. Less touristy, more local, more natural, more personal... and every bit as beautiful as only the Philippines can be! :-) See you soon!
A private bedroom is rented out for every 2 guests who stay with us. There is also the option to rent out the entire house for up to 4 guests. But don't worry about your privacy! We don't rent out the other room for guests looking to book just 1 room. :-) Our house is inspired by the traditional Filipino home. Situated on the forest hillside beside Busuanga's Dipuyai River, we want to create a relaxed and laid back atmosphere that is completely in tune with Mother Nature. At the end of the day, we want you to have the best possible trip, whether it includes just chilling out with a book or having some good fun with a few drinks!
Our place overlooks Busuanga Bay and is the perfect gateway to the best island hopping and diving on the island. Although we are 36km from the touristy Coron Town, we are actually closer to some of the best destinations -- we are a mere 5 minutes away from the nearest wreck dive (Okikawa Maru, a 200-meter Japanese oil tanker) and a 10 minute boat ride away from the best powdery-white sand beaches. So our home is the perfect place to stay for those who want to avoid the crowds! Recommended activities that we can arrange for you: - island hopping and snorkeling (remote white sand beaches, stunning reefs and a shallow Japanese WW2 shipwreck) - overnight beach camping -- OUR SPECIALTY! ;-) either in huts for rent on the beach or in tents, depends on you! - SCUBA diving and courses (Luke is a tech diving instructor and Danica is a divemaster) - visit Concepcion water falls - kayaking through mangroves - bird and bat watching - Social Impact experiences on environment conservation projects and community immersions (Airbnb doesn't offer this yet in the Philippines, but Danica works for a non-profit environmental conservation organization in the area called Community Centered Conservation) Please send us a message so we can give you more information on activities we can arrange for you! :-)
  • Probably our best Airbnb place. Such an amazing experience. All you need is here. If you want to Rest or to enjoy everyday activities, this Airbnb is for you. Luke and Danica are great hosts. They organized everything for us. Absolutely perfect. It was really A pleasure to share life moment with them. We highly recommend!

  • We had 5 awesome days at danicas and lukes Place! Everything was perfectly organized by them - starting with the Airport pickup, all our day trips which included Island hopping with bbq at the Beach. As we r no divers Luke organized a combination of testdiving and islandhopping for us. Also we were quite lucky that during our stay they had a Party at a Friends resort, with drummers and fire dancers, which we were invited to. Overall we would recommend this Place and come back!

    Dominic2016-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Paradise!! Such an amazing place, with a stunning view over the ocean. Very quite with the most beautiful islands around. Luke and Danica are a wonderful host, They make you feel very welcome and even provides you with all the information about tours around the islands. Also they arranged a pick-up for us from the airport. Thank you so much Luke and Danica for making our visit to Busuanga so amazing!!

    Richard2016-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place to stay - quiet and with a great view! What made our stay even better were the lovely hosts - Danica and Luke. They helped us with organizing the trips and discovering some of the hidden places around. Thank you guys!

    Emil2017-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the Bahay Kubo and everything was as expected—rustic, meaning susceptible to the many bugs and other creatures roaming the Philippine jungle (we had a toad hopping around in the house and weren’t sure whether it was poisonous as some are). Danica and Luke were hospitable in all communications prior to and once we arrived, and the arrival was its own challenge. After 2 missed flights due to cancellations to typhoons and bad weather (beware the Busuanga airport is a “fair weather” airport as the runway is super short, fly Sea Air or whatever the 3rd airline is that services USU since Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines run propeller planes there) it became apparent that we were going to lose our entire AirBnb payment unless the weather lightened up so thankfully, after two lost nights, we made it on the 3rd day. Mind you, this review is traveling with twin toddlers in tow so reporting to the airports 2 failed times was already taxing for us having flown in from the US straightaway (we were supposed to catch a direct flight to USU that same day of our Philippines arrival and that was cancelled flight number 1). Once we got there everything was as expected: the place is rustic and nice, very bare bones just as the pictures show. The staff were superb and friendly, their English is good enough not to worry about communication and everyone was accomodating; a rope was even provided upon request so that we could create a barrier along the Bahay Kubo rails to prevent the 2 year old twins from falling out as the gaps between the bars were just big enough to make that worry a possibility. The beds were comfortable although the mosquito nets should be updated in both rooms as the holes were noticeable and the net actually fell in the guest room. One night of our 4-night stay we returned from dinner to find the guest room mattress covered with ants and Danica was quick to respond with ant spray. Turns out the helpers had fed snacks to the kids in the room though not on the bed but they found their way on there any how. Luke was great with knowledge on places and to go and what to do. Beware the WiFi is available only thru Globe and only in the center of the dining table in front of the master bedroom. This was especially trying when attempting to communicate with family regarding our status as our stay was wedged between two passing typhoons—typically uncommon during Christmastime but because, global warming, it’s safer to book in January/February when the rains reportedly actually do stop (used to be Nov/Dec). Also, if you are leery about drinking water and need access to bottled water (as we did with the twins) the closest town to get it is about a 10 min tricycle ride away in Concepcion. The best part about the house is having access to the dock...

    Shermaine2017-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house itself has an unbeatable location if you love nature, quietness(internet unplugged) , and traveling while being close to locals life. Everyone on the property( including holly the dog who eats everything and "the cat" that love belly rub) is super friendly and will make you feel very part of the family. The whole crew has very detailed knowledge all about the island so you'd get both the touristy checklist done as well as some off beaten path items. Their cooking is amazing, banana pancakes and carbonara ended up being repeated ordered. If you have the time try the cheap bus from coron town to their house, 60p and you'd get a scenic ride with natural breeze.

    Nash2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • I can't believe that we were so lucky to find and stay at Danica and Luke's place. The location is absolutely amazing - really secluded, but with a couple of really great places to head to for food and drinks. Danica and Luke were the most excellent hosts. Funny, knowledgeable, helpful and kind. I wish them all the best for the future and building on what they've built so far! We'd definitely go back and stay again and would highly recommend as a super chilled, well priced option in a stunning part of the island.

    Hannah2016-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t speak highly enough of Danica and Luke, such lovely people! Had such a wonderful stay here and hope to come back!

  • I went with the family on Jamil's apartment. Wonderful place: clean, with everything, perfect location closed to Esplanade! We have not personally met Jamil but his parents: they were very kind and always ready and available to help or to suggest us! Thank you very much for all!

  • This space has everything needed when on-the-go including a hot plate to cook, water boiler for coffee or tea, Internet, and stores downstairs with masseuse, restaurant, and a 7-Eleven. Located right off the Iloilo river and a decent view. Jamil and his parents were very hospitable and even called in occasionally to make sure everything is good. We throughly enjoyed staying here. I would definitely rent again in the future if the chance arises.

  • I stayed for 2 weeks and had a really nice stay. the restaurant and the 7eleven close by is really convinient. jumping into the pool after going to the gym felt great, although the gym needs more equipment (heavier weights). during my next stay i will try to stay there again

    Michael2017-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this place was great. Clean, location, and the most important is the host. Jamil's mom was super nice.

    Jr2018-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jamil's place was very homey and we really enjoyed our stay. We met Mrs. Mary Ann, Jamil's mom and she was very hospitable and she made sure we got everything we needed. She offered to cook food and even transportation.. she gave us her contact number so we can contact her anytime. She was very nice. Although, leaving a room for improvement would be a plate rack to put the clean plates after washing them. We broke 2 plates which we informed Mrs. Mary Ann immediately. But anyway, all in all our stay was amazing. Definitely will choose Jamil's place again in the future! ☆☆☆☆☆

  • This Villa is simply amazing! I rented the largest unit that fits 11 people. There were only 6 of us that occupied the space. It was a lot of space of this number of people. But it made our stay more relaxing this way. I loved the private beach shared by 2 other villa-accommodation guests. I liked that the Staff was able to arrange for massage and manicure-pedicure at such short notice. They also arranged for our transportation to a night out in town. What made this weekend trip memorable to me was Mavic and her house helpers! As soon as I arrived, I listed down what types of food our party would want to eat while at the Villa. Mavic is an awesome cook! I loved everything she prepared. Thank you Mavic and Michael and the staff for taking care of us while in your lovely Villa.

  • Best move I made as a first timer in Boracay. :) C&A are responsive to inquiries, and their housekeeper Jocelyn is very friendly and helpful. If you want to have a nice quiet stay away from the nightlife, this is the perfect place, it'll take you a good 15 minutes, but the road going there is peaceful . The Loft is spacious enough for 6 people and the hammock is also one of the best spots to see the hillside view. Not bad for the price, it's a bang for your buck. We will definitely come back. :)

  • Отличный Loft, все соответствует описанию. Находится в комплексе отеля Alta Vista. Прекрасный вид на море, омывающее остров с двух сторон.

  • It was just the perfect place to stay. It was more than enough for 5 people it could even fit more. The people at the resort were super nice and so helpful. The loft was a DREAM COME TRUE.

  • Chris and Amy's place in Alta Vista is the perfect accommodation for your stay in Boracay. It is very spacious and clean and comes with free shuttle services to the city center and a private beach (definitely the highlight) from the resort. Communication was excellent, Chris and Amy offered us guidance while we were dealing with arrival issues and were very helpful. We would definitely recommend this loft to anyone looking for a great experience!

We are very happy to offer a large luxury 9 double bedroom (with en-suite) villa which comfortably sleeps a total of 19 people. The house comes with a team of 5 staff plus a van and driver at your disposal throughout your stay and included in the nightly rate. The house and pool is all exclusively yours giving you total privacy.
The villa (Kalamansi House) is perched high on a hilltop giving it fabulous far reaching views across Boracay, Panay and the ocean. It is made up of a car port in the basement with table tennis table; a very spacious living area on the ground floor with open plan kitchen, living room and TV nook surrounded by large openings onto equally spacious outdoor areas which include al fresco dining with bbq area, bar and cabana, sunken seating area plus 18mt infinity pool; 5 double bedrooms with en suites on the first floor; two double bedrooms with en suites plus a billiard room on the second (top) floor. We have two more double bedrooms with en-suite just off the car port area making 9 bedrooms. The house is south west facing thus benefiting from fabulous sunshine throughout the day ending with the famous Boracay sunsets. It also benefits from a good breeze most of the year. The ground floor also has a good HIFI sound system with 16 speakers. To compliment the house we have a great team made up of 3 girls and two boys who are keen to make your holiday as seamless and pleasurable as possible. They will help with shopping for groceries and with cooking and tidying up. They will also make your room up when convenient for you. We keep a stock of basic food and drinks which you can have at cost. We have a brand new van and driver at your disposal 24/7. All the bedrooms have aircon plus wifi and cable TV with numerous HD channels. We have a generator to take care of the occasional power blackouts. Each bedroom will be made up for you at your convenience with new towels every day. We also supply shampoo and soap as well as a hair dryer. Each room has sliding doors onto an outside terrace. The house is situated in a residential area which is 10 minutes van ride from all the action on White Beach.
We are situated above Diniwid Beach which is at the end of White Beach (Station 1 end). We are also less than 10 minutes walk from Balinghai Beach which is great for an early morning ocean swim. The bars and restaurants of Diniwid Beach are close by and White Beach is a 10 minute van ride away.
  • Nico's house is truly special and one of the most beautiful properties I've stayed at in the Philippines. I've been living in the Philippines for 5 years and this holds true even for some of the very high-end resorts I've stayed at, Nico's house beats them! While the pictures make it look pretty nice, you really have to see its full beauty in person! The layout of the house, especially the living are is designed in such an open way that it feels like being connected to the nature around the house and the beautiful views no matter if you are lounging in the living room or relaxing outside by the pool. It's a one of a kind experience! The amenities in the house are fantastic as well. All kitchen appliances are brand new and very high quality. The BBQ grill is great too and perfectly setup next to a large dinner table, even for big groups. Apart from that the house features many fun things to do, such as a pool table with gorgeous sunset views, darts, a bar area, a great home theater setup, inside/outside speakers where you can play your own music, etc. The rooms are very spacious and feature fantastic views of the island, all with their own bathroom and most with balcony access. The bath/showers are especially beautiful and feature high-end fittings. In some rooms you can shower or take a bath with beautiful views across the island, just lovely! Nico's staff is also one of a kind! They were available for us pretty much around the clock and took care of us perfectly. Everything we asked or wished for was handled quickly and efficiently. I can also highly recommend the private boat transfer that Malou arranged for us, it probably reduces your trip time by 45 minutes to one hour and drops you off at a beach close to the house. While the house is a bit too far away from white beach to walk, Nico's staff were happy to drive us there whenever we wanted, combining a secluded location with gorgeous views with a convenient way of getting to the buzzing party scene at white beach. Since the house is brand new a few very very minor things such as some light fittings were not fully completed. While visible in some ways, it did not bother us at all in any way. However you can see how the house will be even more beautiful once these are completed. Overall this was a fantastic experience and we will gladly be back in the future.

  • This may just be the most fantastic location for a family reunion in Boracay! The villa is designed incredibly well with great common spaces for everyone to enjoy. It is open, spacious, and has probably got the best west-facing view of the island. The villa is cleverly laid out to maximise sunrise and sunset, take advantage of the beautiful breeze that passes through, while also giving our family privacy in each bedroom. The best part of the house has to be the deck and cabana that border the pool. We had massages out there in the mid afternoon and they were magical. The staff on hand were delightful, and so helpful. They were knowledgable about where to go and what to do on the island, and always on call. The food and drink that the house is stocked with is also really good value, and on par with prices in the supermarket on the island. A big thank you to Nico, June, Malou, Ning, Ronald, Eileen, and the rest of the team :) Can’t say enough good things about our stay. We hope to be back next year!

  • A wonderful, beautiful, gorgeous place to stay in Boracay. It’s located in the quieter part of Boracay, but its the perfect place to stay if you want a balance of the beauty of Boracay, with great amenities. We stayed here as a group of friends for the week of our wedding. The staff were so helpful and kind throughout our stay and made it perfect. Book this place if you want somewhere beautiful to stay. You won’t be disappointed! Those sunsets are gorgeous! A special shout out to Rhoda, Renato and Rolanda, as well as the rest of the team. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcomed. We will be back in a few years! Many thanks!

  • I don’t even know how to begin this review because everything about this place is top notch - if I could give a 10-star rating I would! Location is very convenient (only 10min drive from the airport), the room is very clean, the bed is very comfortable, everything you need is provided. They have a Japanese bidet in the toilet, toiletries are generously provided. They can also assist you with tour packages. But that’s just the beginning. The host, Miss Marifi, and her family treated us as their own. We didn’t even feel that we were their guests. They invited us to dinner, prepared very delicious with generous portion of breakfast everyday - they even offered to hang and dry our clothes. Our experience here will definitely set the standard and will be really hard to beat. Thank you Miss Marifi. You were amazing beyond compare.

  • The owner, Ms. Marifi and the caretaker, Ms. Jeanette are both very lovely. They made sure that we felt comfortable and well-taken care of while we were there. They answered all our querries and provided what we needed. The neighbourhood is also fine. The place is right in the middle of the town so almost everything could be reached on foot: shops, banks, parks, restaurants.

  • The Filipino hospitality lives on in Palawan and most especially in Bahay ni Takeshi. From the moment we arrived we were treated to special cold oshibori accompanied by pineapple juice. Everyday they prepared Filipino breakfast and delicious coffee. Jeanette and the rest of Marifis family were very accommodating. They treated us with utmost care. Someone Even climbed the mango tree and presented us with green mango and bagoong. Lovely! Our visit in Palawan overlapped with Marifi's, who lives in Japan, which made it more special. For those who are not used to nature sounds like crowing roosters, chirping bird's and barking dogs, just bring earplugs. There are plenty of these sounds around, which also makes the stay very charming. Thank you Marifi, Jeanette and family for a wonderful stay.

    Thomas2015-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was the first time I went to Boracay with my wife and even though I was unfortunately feeling under the weather Joven managed to make our stay romantic and memorable. His staff is very accommodating. We enjoyed a sumptuous candle-lit dinner at the roof deck when we arrived. Breakfast was quite filling. Our room was very clean and spacious. The nearby beach felt a little more private - it had less people and was less windy, not requiring wind breakers like the beaches at the other stations. And we got free massages the next day. Of course the main draw here would have to be Joven - he really goes out of his way to check up on you, talk to you, ask you if you need anything and give you advice about the island and how to make the most out of your stay. Add to this his advocacy of giving back to the community and you have a place definitely worth staying and coming back to.

    Bobby2015-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • It was every bit as described and positively more. The staff was excellent and tentative. The seclusion from station 1-3 helps from the chaotic scene of Boracay. The only minor complaint I would say would be the wifi. It was only available in the main dining hall and reception area. There was brown outs, but power was quickly restored. The breakfast was yummy , and the portions were very generous. If one is looking for some tranquility in Boracay then this the place.

    Ken2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • value for money. probably the cleanest hotel i've stayed in boracay.

    Jules2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • This would be the first time we had ever been to the Philippines and we were honestly without a clue of what to do once we had arrived at Caticlan airport. Upon leaving the airport, it was such a relief to see someone with a white board with our name on it, waiting for our party to arrive!! The greeter was kind enough to assist us on how to get to our hotel from the airport. Oasis Hotel had employed "Island Express" to assist with the transportation from the airport to our hotel. Unfortunately, we were not told of the additional expenses (1000 PHP per person) to take us from the airport, to the Jetty port with the terminal fee, to the pump boat and across the way to Boracay, and then the shuttle from the port we arrived at to go to our hotel. Once arriving at our hotel, we were greeted by the hotel staff, with complementary mango lemonade juice, and we were escorted to our room. The room was air conditioned, adequate in size, nice and clean, bathroom had functioning hot water and shower with a sink, and a nice porch to sit out on and enjoy the view. Our room was cleaned by the staff everyday once we have left for the day. The hotel offered complimentary breakfast everyday, which was fantastic. They also have a menu of home cooked meals, with the option of room service. They also had free wifi access, with its quality a bit slow during busy times of the day, but it was adequate for checking small stuff online. They also had masseuse in their staff, but don't expect high end massages. It was alright. The hotel offered free shuttle services at specific times to take the guests to D Mall in Station 2. It's better than having to pay a tricycle 150-200 PHP to take you places. The host was kind enough to suggest activities to do while in the island. Booking them was much easier, and less sketchy, compared to the random hawkers that approach you while walking around D-Mall. We booked all of our actives through our hotel (ATV, paraw sailing, and the Motag Museum, which included riding a carabao!!) If you like partying, we suggest you try out "Pub Crawl" while at D-Mall. You get to bar hop through 3 bars and 2 clubs. It was a blast! If you would even remember it the next morning. But if you hate being around tourist-y beaches, we suggest going to Puka beach. It's a bit secluded but the locals there are friendly. We even caught Nemo with the local kids while diving to the coral reefs. It's about half an hour walk from the hotel. Overall, our stay was definitely unforgettable. We met some wonderful people throughout our stay and made friends with the hospitable staff at our hotel. The amenities were convenient and made our vacation stress-free. It'll definitely be the hotel to stay at again for...

    April2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a good choice for families that want peace and quiet away from the stations. There are two quiet beaches walking distance from the resort and a free shuttle that will take you to dmall and back. The manager and staff were very helpful and the food good (screams canadian) and massage was heavenly This would be somewhere i would return to.

  • My wife and I stayed about a week at Tom and Belle’s place. This was our very first stop on our 3 month SE Asia tour. Tom and Belle promptly picked us up after our flight and took us about 2 hours north when we arrived to their secluded wooden mansion. The giant room, bathroom, and balcony are yours and located on the upstairs floor of their house. The caretaker Noe and his really nice/ cute family live in a house on the property, along with the cute dogs and even cuter monkey :) The treehouse is really nice and enjoyable for reading, drinks, chilling in the hammock etc.. Tom and Belle are so nice and extremely willing to go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as they possibly can. They rented us one of their motorbikes for a really cheap price (we used it everyday while we were there). We took it to Port Barton, Sabang, downtown Roxas and just around and we thoroughly enjoyed our adventures. However if you’re not comfortable on a motorbike there is not much on foot (besides small sari sari stores with snacks/ beer etc) so expect to relax relax relax and most likely be dependent on the fact that Belle was cooking ;) Delicious food everyday! We spent many hour talking and sharing stories with Tom and Belle and we really enjoyed their company! If you’re looking to get away look no further- there’s nothing quite like the seclusion of this place. Not to mention the breathtaking view of the stars every night. ** Just full disclosure the beach connected to the property isn’t really swimmable or lounge-able. The sand flies are vicious. Still very nice to fall asleep to the sound of the waves though..

  • Tom's place was perfect for us! We stopped for the night on the way from El Nido back to PP. We arrived a bit late, but were able to find the place in the dark. Tom and Belle's house is lovely, and comfortable. We stayed upstairs in an apartment style accommodations with a nice balcony over looking the beach. Belle even made us a delicious breakfast before we headed out and we got to taste some of Tom's fresh watermelon from his garden! Overall, highly recommend to stay for a few nights if you're looking for a place away from the tourist crowds.

  • Tom and Belle are fantastic hosts, friendly and hospitable. The accomodation was beyond our expectations. Belle's a fabulous chef. Every meal was different, fresh and delicious. The boat trip Tom suggested took us to the local snorkelling sites and a majikal little sand bar island and a river cruise. It was amazing! I highly recommend Toms advice to wear insect repellent when your on the beach. I did not and I'm still itchy Overall i highly recommend staying staying at Tom's & Belle's place. It's a memorable and relaxing experience that you won't soon forget!

    Sia2017-07-30T00:00:00Z

    Anne Sophie2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and his wife are lovely and they made us truly feel at home. It was a real Airbnb experience beacuse we had the chance to chat with them a lot at breakfast and dinner time. We stayed in the loft which is a very big room on the second floor with balcony. The room was beautiful with an incredible view of the sea, the bathroom was big and clean although don't expect hot water - you won't need it anyways. The place is really secluded so you'll need some sort of transportation if you want to go around - we rented Tom's bike for a very reasonable price. We were there just after the typhoon so we didn't have the chance to explore the islands nearby but if the weather is good I would suggest to stay at least three nights to enjoy the peace and beauty of the of Caramay.

    Marcus2018-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome people and place to stay. The views... wow... hard to imagine! Super comfortable especially the bed. Amazing to wake up to a real paradise, we woke up far earlier than usual to enjoy it fully. Definitely take the boat trip, even if you've done Honda Bay or El Nido, this is something more special. Recommend getting meals as well, they're great and big portions... plus that way no need to leave :) Personally best to have own transportation, though not totally necessary. 2-3 days is totally ideal also. Next trip to Philippines we didn't plan on coming back to Palawan, though Tom has changed our minds! Thanks guys, we will keep in touch.

    Lolit Ragmac2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was a fantastic place for my boyfriend and I to stop by on our road trip from Taytay to Puerto Princessa. Both Tom and Belle were exceptional hosts andlovely people. The food was great, the house and surroundings was immaculate and for a night of luxury it was still well within our backpackers budget. A great place to relax, lie in a hammock, chill in a treehouse, check out the beach (be wary of sandflies) or simply get horizontal and watch some tv, if we had more time we would have stayed longer. It was also our first air BnB experience but one we'll never forget.

  • Ms. Lara's flat is as nice and spacious as it is in the photos. The location is great, safe and convenient too--everything that you might be needing is within reach. Most especially she and her family are the best hosts! Ms. Lara even took time to tour us around the city on our second-to-the-last day in Iloilo, aside from that, we were treated like family. Booking her apartment was accidental but it truly was a blessing in disguise. We couldn't have had such awesome and memorable stay in Iloilo had we not came across with this precious host. 5 out 5 stars!

  • Staying in this place is a good choice. The place is nice, spacious and clean. It is accessible to supermart, drugstore, public transpo, affordable resto and etc. Lara and kuya Raffy are kind, friéndly, caring and hospitable. Our plan was only to visit Iloilo but they suggested and prepared for our other trips. Because of that, we were able to visit also Guimaras and Bacolod. If not for their concern, we would be stranded in bacolod due to typhoon basyang. But because kuya raffy informed us of the signal no 1 in their place, we were able to ride on the last trip going back to iloilo. Staying in their place is definitely a right choice.

  • Lara’s place is in the heart of the new city but still retains the peace and quiet found in a rural area. As soon as one steps into the compound of the flat, one feels safe and the warm hospitality of Lara and her father. The flat is clean and is definitely family friendly. It is accessible to public transportation hence it is a good base for Iloilo City. The best part is that Lara (and her family) is a local and offers the local hospitality that is uniquely Illongga. I really recommend the flat to everyone. One pays for the flat but gets the whole Iloilo experience.

  • Highly recommended! The place is nice and clean. Great location too. Close to ATM, convenience stores and restaurants. The hosts are just the best. Sir Raffy checks on us from time to time. They just really care and wanted us to have the best stay in Iloilo. Thanks again.

  • I’ll choose this again if I go back. Lara and his dad are amazing. They can make your trip truly stress free. His dad picked up us from the port, toured us the city, brought us to anywhere in the city. Lara, no words can express how much grateful I am for her. We missed the last Fast Craft and Supercat from Bacolod, told us that there’s another port 45mins from the city. Took us additional 2 hours, but still we were able to make it in Iloilo and experience Lara’s Place. She even arranged our Gigantes. A huge thank you once again for making our trip most enjoyable. For arranging almost everything. To Lara, walang sawang thank you. You dad is amazing makes our trips hassle free. I love his stories, his extra tour of the city making me wanna go back to him and explore more.

  • NVH Vacation home was perfect for our stay in Coron. Jen, her hubby & the rest of the team who care for guests & the home are amazing. They will arrange pick up by van & help you bring your bags up the hill to the house. Just an FYI that the hill is not paved yet (in case you have any older folks coming with you.) They arranged for our clothes to be laundered, arranged our snorkeling trip w/ the awesome Captain Pepe (he was so great we went w/ him every day) & woke up at all hours to turn the generator on if the power went out. Jen even accompanied us to the market on our 1st day snorkeling so we could buy stuff to grill (we stopped at Banol island - a must visit for your lunch break.) Knowing who to buy from was priceless as I went back to most of the vendors each morning. We bought tomatoes, onions, snapper, squid, tuna, pork chops, mangoes, rice, eggplant, etc. - something different to grill every day. The captain & his crew even made ceviche for us a couple of different ways (by request.) Siete Pecados was our favorite snorkel spot. Each spot you visit charges an entrance fee by the way (around P100 - 200 per person.) The one thing I do want to mention, since some folks visiting may not be aware, is that Palawan (like a lot of other island areas in the Philippines) experiences power failures. You never know when one will come in Coron & how long it will last. The generators that places have are often only strong enough to power some things (not all.) So... there may be a chance that you will have to sleep a couple of hours with only a fan & not AC. We only had one night where that happened & it was not a big deal at all. Lastly - I recommend Sinugba sa Balay & Santino's Grill for dinner. Kokie's is supposed to be good but we did not get to go. Sea Dive Restaurant is a good spot since it is right on the water. Ice Valley is a must for the mixed fruit halo-halo (which is big enough to share.) The massage place on the main road (not the large Korean spa but the smaller place) was great. If the power goes out & you don’t want to head home, just get a massage for around $6 :) I am sure they are all great. All in all – NVH is the perfect base for a group to explore Coron. It is the best value & will allow you to have an amazing experience.

  • I stayed with partner for 8 nights in Ella's apartment in Boracay. We enjoyed our stay there. especially big terrace and very nice view from there, and I was always there for taking breakfast, reading books , checking mail, it was actually relax time. However wifi connection is not so nice, can not connected in the room and even in outside, sometimes can't use it especially on evening. maids were always kindly helping us. I rented motorbike in there ( 500pesos per day), for shopping and beaches, the motorbike was not so good condition but convenience.

  • This condo is a great place to stay especially if you want to be away from the massive crowds in D Mall. For the younger crowds that want to party this is not the place for you, you need to be close to town. The view from the balcony during a sunset is breathtaking, you for sure will not be disappointed.

    John2017-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and exceptional terrace with world class view of the ocean... The unit was missing some very basic (Website hidden by Airbnb) toaster, no coffeemaker The internet was totally lame until Beverley took it upon herself to upgrade her system connection and I was able to piggyback on that ... All and all a wonderful place that can be readily improved with minor adjustments..

    Paul2014-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • First time in Boracay and loved the location of the apartment. Great for slow mornings on the balcony or quick trips into town. House staff super friendly and host generous with her time and responsive to requests. Didn't go to Balinghai Beach until the last day and what a regret! Should have definitely visited that quiet and beautiful spot earlier.

    Scott2016-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed spending 6 nights here. The apartment is very fresh, modern and well equipped. The thing we enjoyed the most was having breakfast on the huge terrace! Going around is very easy: you can easily find a tricycle on the main road and drive to white beach for 150pesos, or jump on a "bus" (just a longer tricycle) and pay only 20pesos. Walking around the area is safe, even thought it can seem very dark, and the locals are nice to tourists. We spent most times between Station 1/2, where is more crowded and filled with restaurants, and Balinghai Beach, which is a beautiful hidden location. We had a little problem with the AC the first day, but the staff was prompt and helpful and fixed it in less than 24h! We didn't dare to drink tap water, but you can buy big tanks of potable water from the staff. Overall, the place is highly recommended.

    Zoe2015-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • This 1 bedroom condo was exactly what i was looking for. If you want peace and quiet away from the crowds, and a terrace with killer views, then this is your place. I just relied on the 20p shared trike ride to get back/forth to town, and i didn't mind the distance given the experience of living among locals. Ella was quick and helpful with answers, Rosalyn and her staff were friendly and easily available. Already missing Boracay.

    Doug2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Good appartment, good contact and very nice people to assist you with your questions and to solve a problem immediatly

  • If you are looking for a private apartment with some of the best views in Boracay; this is it! I just spent 30 amazing nights at Shambala and would not stay anywhere else on the island. Everything you could possibly need in a self contained apartment is available to you and should you require something; Rosa & Myra will ensure its seen to. 2 min walk to the main rd where scooters and tricycles can easily take you to any part of the island with in a short 5-10 min ride. There are great local stores and restaurants with in 2 min walk and the fresh fruit, vegetables and seafood are excellent if you feel like cooking at home. It's a safe, quiet, friendly and clean neighbourhood where I really didn't see any other tourists at all so I felt very much apart of the local community. The extensive TV channels were great for quiet nights in and all the photos are very accurate with the place decorated beautifully. I will be back next year for a longer stay.

  • My family and I (4 pax) had an overnight stay at Pia & Bojan's place. It was a lovely, fully furnished condo with amazing view on golf field, a pool in the building, and a nearby private beach. There were available cooking and dining utensils, linens, tv, and wash-dryer. There were limitied toiletries, however. Free shuttle to and from City Mall is available when heading to Oceanway Residences and the famed White Beach. Pia & Bojan had prompt responses and eager to answer particular questions. I would love to be back when I visit Boracay again <3

  • This place is filled with beauty. The dedicated beach is so quiet and stunningly beautiful. It's a little bit far from the center, but you can see sunrise every morning. It is so attractive. Opening the curtains is dazzling enough to make my heart beat faster. If you choose this place, it will be a trip without regret.

  • Kinda far from the port but worth the travel. Beautiful and peaceful. Perfect for staycation.

    Pau2017-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Most friendly and helpful host ever. I highly recommend Pia & Bojan and their cozy "Elite Apartment", so lovely and great first impression of the place. The atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to us. Everything about the place was exceptional, and I don't give praise lightly. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service of the hosts, Ms. Inday (their local caretaker), Oceanway's shuttle driver and receptionist as well as the guard who is stationed in the pool and kind enough to follow-up us in our room that the pool is ready to use since we came much earlier during the day. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I could go on but suffice it to say we were very pleased with our stay, and although short and sweet this time, My family hope to be back for a longer visit in the future. ☺️

  • Amazing place with a private beach and beautiful view.

    Zaid2018-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • This unit is nice, it will give you a homey feeling... the location is secluded from the street noise and the foot traffic which is actually nice if you want a resting place that is quiet and the luxury of having an exclusive feeling in your living space. The shuttle service that is provided by the residential complex is actually helpful because it can minimize your travel costs, you can actually cook, wash and dry your clothes, and lounge on the couch after a tiring day cause they got a lot of channels in the cable, and a reliable internet connection, so you can also just netflix and chill inside the unit with the cold environment that their air conditioning provides. the attendants of the building was helpful and welcoming, but the driver of the shuttle can be grumpy sometimes. the pool is clean and not crowded. I've already raised my concerns regarding the unit to pia and bojan, so i hope they'll act on it and see if they did something about it when i/we get back sometime soon.

  • Great host, great location, great unit. James Carl instantly replying whenever we had any questions. The unit was good for a small family of 3 (2 adults + 1 child). Location is perfect, between old Iloilo and the new. Everything is in walking distance if you don't mind the heat (almost everything within 2km). The development has also a kids pool which is nice if you have kids.

  • The location of the hotel is very convinient and also the staff are very friendly and efficient. The loft room was certainly adequate and overlooked a main view of the beach and noise was not a problem. I admire the hotel from its services. The water supply and the electricity are very efficient. Even the Spa services was so good and very relaxing. We definitely plan to stay there again on our next visit in Boracay. Thanks Rob for having us well accommodated!

It has everything that we need. cooking utensils, comfortable beds, spacious place. The location is far from the noisy places of the whitebeach but there is an hourly shuttle coming through and from the hotel / DMall station 2. I would definitely recommend this place to a group of family or friends who would want a more serene and a more private place to stay in Boracay. Will definitely book your place again if ever I visit my paradise. Thank you and happy holidays!

We were only at this place for 7 hours. However Jess and Anne were very accommodating of us arriving at midnight, offering us food and coffee and being very considerate about the fact we had been travelling for approximately 7 hours. In addition when we woke up, Anne arranged a tricycle to the airport and provided us with an "on the go" breakfast. The vibe at this place was very peaceful and considerate.

Cynthia is a very warm host, and it's apparent that her focus is on us clients. Throughout my stay she ensured that I was happy. In addition, she really tries to get to know you as a person rather than just a client.

Great place to stay - very clean, cozy and comfortable. Location is also very convenient - close to the airport and the town center.
